Loss of signal when tv turned on

I'm completely baffled by what is happening with the wifi signal in my house. We have a long, one story house with the main airport extreme router (connected to a surfboard modem - Charter high speed cable internet) located at pretty much at the far end end of the house in the office (there's one more bedroom before the house ends).
I have an airport express about 40 ft away extending the signal to the other side of the house.
There is one computer hard wired into the extreme in the office.
Everything was working perfectly until a few months ago when we started to loose the signal, mostly in the late evening. This isn't an internet issue because the hard wired computer is just fine during these times.
We finally realized it corresponds with when our flat screen tv is turned on in the bedroom across the hall from the office. The wifi is perfectly fine if you are standing within the office or surrounding bedrooms, but as soon as you walk down the hall 5 ft, there is only a very, very weak signal and the express can't extend anything.
I've tried changing channels, moving around the location of the extreme, and nothing works. The tv is not connected to the internet and there are no components attached to it. iStumbler finds nothing when the tv is on and Charter says there's something wrong with the extreme, not with their wiring or signal and not with the tv.
The weird thing, is that this was not a problem until a few months ago. Before that, the tv and internet were working perfectly fine together...it pretty much started having problems over night.
Does anyone have any suggestions? It's very frustrating and I'm out of ideas.

Everything was wired by Charter and they've come out 3 times to check the lines. There is a splitter where the line enters the house and it is split and all are connected by cables for each of the bedrooms and living room (4 rooms/TVs total) for cable tv and then one for internet in the office.
I initially thought there was something with the line when the cable tv is running (and it's definitely the cable box that is the issue, not the tv as I've tested this with the tv running and the cable box seperately and it only drops when the cable box is running), however, speedtest on the desktop wired into the airport extreme are consistent whether the tv is on or not. It only affects the wifi.

I lose signal when I turn 3G on

the problem is and why you havent had any responses this could be either the service provider or the phone it could be either one! However the service provider is just going to deny it and you have a better chance just exchanging your phone to see if you can get one that works....

  • Loss of connection when device turned off then back on

I have an Airport extreme and a base station. The extreme is set in "bridge mode" and the base station extends the network. My router is an ARRIS that hands out the IP address. Everything has been working great for the last year but recently problems with staying connected. When a device turns off or leaves the network and comes back it is not recognized. For example my iPhone 4. It gets a "169." IP address & won't connect to the internet. I power off the extreme and after it resets, then it works. This also happens with my daughters computer. When I turn it on it shows bars but a weak signal and no internet. I power off the extreme and it works. Even the ethernet connection gets lost on my main computer and the same solution works. I left last weekend on a trip with my iPad and returned to the same problem. I'm tired of always resetting the extreme and should not have to go to all this trouble. I tried turning off the modem, pressing the reset and removing the backup battery. This also fixes the problem but there has to be an easier way. What I'm I missing and what changed? Any ideas or do I take back the extreme?

Add to your code following statement
    set_item_property( 'EFIS_EMAIL_QUEUE.SELECTTODELETE', UPDATE_ALLOWED, PROPERTY_TRUE );
and hopefully that should take care of your problem.

  • Loss of Signal when in sleep mode

I have an iphone 3g and the problem I am having is the phone when put into sleep mode sometimes doesn't receive messages or calls. When I go to unlock the phone it is sluggish to unlock and then can take up to 15 or 20 seconds acquire signal. At that time I receive all the texts and voice mails of people that missed there calls while the phone was asleep.
Apple has replaced my phone, I have done a restore from back up and set up as new. I have kept off music and apps. It does it in edge or 3g.
HELP!!!!! Apple says no one else is having this problem but I cant believe that.

I have been having the same problem ever since I got my new iMac in December. Been on the phone with tech support about 6 times. I think my problem is related to interference within my house. I have tried everything and just today moved my computer to a room very near the Airport Extreme base station. So far all works perfectly. I didn't have this problem with the linksys router I was using with my PC before getting the Mac (802.11g). I have a 5 GHz wireless phone system in the house and maybe that has something to do with it. My problem only occurs after a "long sleep," so I'll have to check things out tomorrow, but getting the computer near the base station seems to have made a difference.

Last night my iphone screen all of a sudden was solid blue and now it is black. I tried turning it on and off.  Still nothing appeared on the screen.  I put it on the charger and this morning it is totally black.  However, when I hit the on and off button, I did hear the text message signal go off. When I turned the volume on and off a big white bell flashed.  In the last week, there were some other display problems such as the screen blowing up large. The only way to fix it was to turn off the phone and then turn it back on.
What does all of this mean? It seems like I've had these problems since the iphone 4 upgrade.

just do reset, press home button and power butoon for a while untill you can see apple
    gud luck

  • Why does my signal drops and takes a long time to search and connect when I turn on or off my cellular data? And normal text messages are not getting delivered properly. It shows sent but later it will show try again, Is it just me?

I do not know what the problem is, but after the latest update it is really hard to send text messages. It is taking alot of time to send the messages, it is not the problem with the carrier because sending text messages with the same number in the same area is really easy on my normal nokia 1100. Please suggest me what I should check. Second problem I am facing is the carrier signal drops to nothing when I turn on the cellular data. It has to then search for the network and connect again the same happens when I turn the data off again. Please tell a solution. I do not think it is the problem with the hardware because the phone is hardly 2weeks old and everything was working properly with ios 6. It initaly had problem with the battery on updating to ios7 but that was rectified with the new update but again these are the new issues am facing.

This may sound stupid, but I'm gonna throw it out there anyway. Is it possible, that if I have enough junk on my desktop it might disrupt the signal? It seems odd, but it kind of looks like my signal is strong and relatively steady now that I've cleaned my desktop. I do tend to get very cluttered. I use a lot of reference images and save text clippings to use later... it just piles up very quickly.
So, I wonder if all that extra effort my system has to do keeping up with the junk might have something to do with the drop outs?

  • Please a simple problem but I don't know how to solve it. After installing 16 gb of ram all is good but when I turn on the computer it is a window signaling that all is correct. How is possible to delete once and for all that window? Thank you

Well then maybe you could take a screenshot because the appearance of such a window is news to me.
Also post your OS X version and what model Mac you have. The more detail, the better. Thanks.
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse or trackpad. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply.

  • So I am trying to hook up a wifi antenna and router to pull a signal in for better hookup and when I turned on asus I must have answered a question wrong on setup so how can I change stuff so I can get iPad and router to work.

So I am trying to hook up a tired net antenna to an asus wifi router so my iPad can have a stronger signal, but when I turned on asus it went to auto window on iPad and I think I must have answered a question wrong. I can not hook up to Internet, can anyone tell me how to configure, or delete asus and start all over.

Have you tried erasing your network settings under settings/general/reset?

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
        1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
        2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
        3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
        4.    Open iTunes.
        5.    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Mac Pro when I turn it on shows  no video signal input

When I turn my Mac Pro on the screen is black and it  shows " no video input" . how can I solve this problem?

Many of the graphics cards shipped in 2008 and older macs have gotten too hot or too dusty over the years and burned themselves out.
Consider upgrading to an Apple-firmware 5770 (about US$250) that works in every model Mac Pro running 10.6.5 or later.
    Other trivia that may help:
The caps lock key is under software control. If it still operates as expected, the software is running, even with no picture.
Control-Eject on the keyboard brings up this dialog box in a fully operational Mac OS X, and not otherwise. The default to shutdown is taken with the return key:

  • To I need to have 3G enabled to recieve service signal as when I turn 3G off I get no service in the top left signal bar

Do I need 3G enabled always to recieve service as when I turn it off I get a no service note in the top left bar

Yes, but if you're connected to wifi then no.

  • Why does my Vizio hdtv say no signal when I connect my minidisplay port to hdmi cord between my macbook pro and tv?

My Vizio hdtv says "No Signal" when I use my mini displayport to hdmi cord. It worked flawlessly for a month but randomly decided to no longer work.
I am using a macbook pro from early 2011 running os x Lion 10.7.5 and a thunderbolt to hdmi cord. The cord has worked without a hitch the numerous times I've used it until recently. Now plugging it in will cause the macbook to flash blue quicker than normal and immediately go back to the normal screen. I know the macbook recognizes the TV because changing the input on the TV to the hdmi connected to the computer will cause the macbook to flash blue again, with the same result. The TV remains unresponsive. I have tried all combinations of turning on and off the TV and macbook with the cord plugged in and unpugged from either and both systems and in both hdmi inputs on the TV. I've changed the display resolution to every possible option with no result. The TV is not recognized as a display on either the Display section of System Preferences or the Sound section.
It confounds me that the cord should work flawlessly until now, a month after buying it, for no apparent reason. I've been gentle with the cord, so the problem being a result of damage is unlikely. I had not updated my computer in any way between the successful and unsuccessful uses of the cord, but I have since updated my computer and the problem remains.
I have searched for this problem on the Internet and have seen others with similar problems, but I have not found a solution that resolves my problem. I hope to avoid having to make any additional purchases.
And a thousand and one thanks to any and all who help.

Do you have gfxCardStatus installed?  Is your monitor set to "Integrated" or "Discrete".  You want it set to Discrete to drive the external HDMI display.
Try resetting the PRAM and SMC
    <About NVRAM and PRAM>
<Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)>
Are you sure you have a good miniDisplayPort to HDMI cable?
Do you have another HDMI display you can test against (your neighbor's HDMI capable TV).
Do you have friend that can test the cable using their Mac and maybe their TV or a monitor that has HDMI input.

  • Turned off cellular data, when I turned it back on, I couldn't connect to AT&T

I had turned off the Cellular data while in a WiFi zone...when I turned it back on while on the road, all attempts to connect.(in spite of EXCELLENT AT&T signal strength), were met with "you do not have an internet connection" messages.
I've since gotten into a WiFi zone and re-established my account connection; I'm going to see if that did the trick.
I guess my question is about whether turning off the Cellular Data switch logs us off the network and we then must re-log-in to reconnect?
    Or is my experience unique?
Thanks for any remarks you folks care to contribute!

  • Do I lose High resolution video signal when I capture through FireWire?

I have being reading that capturing through Aja Kona video card is an uncompressed video capture. does it mean, I lose some part of my HD resolution video signal when I capture it through fire wire? Could somebody explain me? Thanks.

No, capturing DV or HDV via firewire is a bit for bit transfer of the original recording ... zero loss.
