Loss of T key metadata function in v.3.1.3

I use Aperture 3 as my main photo organizer. I also use a lot of keyboard short-cuts. When I upgraded from v. 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 I lost the functionality of the T key. The T key would bring up an abbreviated metadata dialog box whenever the mouse curser was placed over a photo. This was invaluable to me. I could quickly move over photos and see the following info: jpg, RAW, F stop, Shutter speed, Lens info, date, camera, pixel dimensions, file name, etc.
Has anyone else noticed the disappearance of this in version 3.1.3. Does anyone know a work around in 3.1.3? I am aware of other ways to get the metadata, but this was particularly slick. Often Apple adds features, but they rarely take them away. It disappeared both on my Mac Pro and on my new MBP. I have subsequently reverted back to 3.1.2 and all is temporarily well.

Apparently Apple got a lot of feedback from people that 'toggled' the "Image Tooltips" and couldn't figure out how to dismiss the cursor-tracking popup. It's now officially Cntrl-T. You can change it back or have it both ways by customizing the keyboard.
Aperture menu > Commands > Customize...
Tap the T key on the visual keyboard.
The lower right pane will show what's assigned.
Note that '^' (for the T key) is assigned "Image Tooltips".
If you drag "Image Tooltips" to the "No Modifier" slot it will offer to make a copy of the defaults.
Name the new set and modify it. It will appear in the menu you used to get 'here' as a Custom Command Set.

Mapping keys to function

I'm at a bit of a quandary. I have done this several times and something always happens. After I open Access IBM and Configure, I map my right alt key to function as the windows key. It works for a while and then suddenly I lose that functionality and have to reset it.
Does anyone know what is happening? I am running XP on my Thinkpad T42.

Further to this, just for fun I took an older clear keyboard that I have and hooked it up and the tex-edit scripts work just fine. I guess I'll just tell my friend to keep using his old keyboard for now. Obviously, the custom F-Keys that apple has prewired to the thin aluminum keyboard are interfering. Do you know of a way to have Tex-edit "take over" these F keys when it is the frontmost application?

If your enter key is not working but you have to use it, you can bring up the on screen keyboard, and that will allow you to use enter.
Here is a link to open the on screen keyboard.
Go into device manager and uninstall the keyboard and restart the computer. This should reinstall the driver to correct the problem.

Delicate One Key Recovery function of S10-3

The One Key Rescue of my S10-3 was not functioning any more.
After I have taken several steps in creating Recovery Disc using the option in the One Key Rescue, S10-3 displayed that 3 dvd disc are needed but I had only one in hand, so I clicked the Return in the display to exit the process. As a result the One Key Rescue function was ruined.
Since Lenovo knows exiting the process will ruin the One Key Rescue function,
a. why an exit option is provided.
b. why no warnings are given at the beginning of the process.
c. this is obviously a bug, why Lenovo still let it exists.
Fortunately, I know Lenovo Service Centre can revert the S10-3 to its initial state at a chargeable base.
This is easy to people in cities like Hong Kong, but it will be a disaster to people in cities of some Asian countries where there are no Lenovo Service Centres, people have to spend a lot of time and money in transportation in order to have their computers rectified.

Assigning a key to function as an Option key

The Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 is Mac & Windows Vista compatible and just what I need, but how do I get the Windows (or any other) key to function as an Option key and especially when booting back and forth using Boot Camp? So far, none of the keys I've pressed brings up the choice of OS upon reboot.

Hope I'm not duplicating -- lost two replies before posting.
The Alt key seems to work like an Option key sometimes in some programs, but not for choosing the OS when rebooting via Boot Camp. Everything worked with the iMac keyboard, but I need this ergonomic setup so got a Win keyboard that's supposedly also Mac compatible.
New to Mac (less than a year), trying to learn the differences. Also, found no way to use the NumLock so the keypad can be used for cursoring around. That's been the most difficult adjustment.

Need reference for Visa2 Key Diversification Function

I've been trying to find a definitive specification for the Visa2 master key to card key diversification function, but with no luck. I did find a Gemalto document that instead of using the diversification data supplied in the 0xCF 'GET DATA' response and the response to an "INIT UPDATE", specifies derivation based on the CPLC data (and calls that Visa2).
Has any one got a better pointer?

My question was "what is the reference document for the VISA2 key diversification function?".
I didn't ask about EMV key derivation because I already had that reference.
The CPLC data is NOT the same as the tag CF or INIT UPDATE diversification array. And in no GP document that I've found is it required to be. In fact the guidance is that CF is derived from tag 42 and tag 45 - card issuer and card id.
And FYI - I think the reference document for Visa2 key diversification is "VISA Card Production Guide" - probably 1.0, but I can't get a copy of that. Given other text I've found, I think the Gemalto "use the CPLC for diversification for VISA" is probably correct. But without a copy of the reference I can't confirm that.

Lost function key special functions - flash cards?

I seem to have lost the function key special functions which I think is related to flash cards. The function LED illuminates but pressing a function key has no effect (brightness, hibernate, monitor switch etc.).
How can I restore the function. I can't find anything under Toshiba Assit utility.

Hello Richard
When you press FN button the Flash Cards should be shown at the top of the display. If nothing happens you can try to restart Flash Cards. This option you can find under START > All Programs > TOSHIBA > Utilities > Restart Flash Cards.
Please try it. If this will not helps please restart your notebook. Be so nice and post the result.

Function keys not functioning.....

After I installed OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro the function keys at the top of my keyboard no longer function normally. Most of them do nothing when pressed except the volume keys, the volume down switches to spaces and the volume up key brings up the dashboard. The other keys have no action. The workaround that I have found so far is to actually press the fn key while executing the commands. I do not know if there is a setting in the system preferences or what but this is getting to be very annoying. Anyone else having this problem? If so does anyone know how to fix this?

I am having the same issues with some of my F keys. Just purchased my first MAC (long time Windower ;-), so I'm still finding my way around. I have Lion, and was thinking, are some of the F keys not functioning because Lion does that funtion a different way? I will post it here if I find your answer.

Perform SMC reset
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Space Bar & Delete Key Not Functioning Properly in Safari/Chrome

I have Googled extensively on this problem to no avail. I'm hoping the Apple Community faithful can help.
I recently had the logic board on my work Mac Pro crash, and updated to a new Mac Pro (Snow Leo). The local Apple Store was of course able to tranfer all my settings/info to the new machine, and so far everything is humming right along with no issues...except for something VERY strange. Ever since getting the new Mac Pro, typing in Safari and Chrome is very screwed up...as far as I can tell only the spacebar and delete key functions. In Safari, hitting the spacebar while typing functions like hitting the spacebar on a webpage, jumping down on the page. The delete key functions like I'm hitting the back button in the browser. This appears to be happening in Chrome as well, but it can't handle it at all and crashes instantly upon hitting either of those keys. Strange thing is, Firefox is working perfectly.
I have deleted preference files and repaired permissions and neither of those helped. I'm lost here guys. Anyone have any insight?

Sorry to hear, I would not have let anyone transfer settings.
Easy to do yourself.
I would have kept the old system.
And then you would be using a clean vanilla OS.
So what I would jdo now is a clean install on one of your hard drifves and see if that rules out issues.
USB cables, extensions, hubs, keybaord is a hub also, can all do mischief, even kernel panic.
Permissions? No. Repair the hard drive, Yes, maybe even with something more robust than Apple First Aid.
And not just prefs, a lot of issues reside with application cacvhe files and folders.
Cloning a system, repair8ing, and booting is good maintenance.
A clean install and update should take under an houjr.
While new Mac Pro should run 10.6.8, it is possible that it would have come or shipped with Lion at this point.
