Loss of wi fi after downloading ios 7.0.4 on my iphone 4s
Can anybody help me please, After downloading ios 7.0.4 I have lost the wi fi funtion on my iphone 4s, My phone is four months out of waranty and I will have to pay to get it fixed, This seems to be a massive problem and nobody seems to have an answer as to why this has happened.
Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

JesseHi Chris. Thanks, for the suggestions re: my email issues. They were helpful and yes I did check all items you referenced. I even contacted Apple support and spent about 40 minutes on phone checking all settings. However, after all these efforts, my mail and calendar issues were not resolved. Apple Support finally recommended deleting the mail account and then reloading it - and it worked! I am now receiving my emails and calendar appts. in real time again.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone elest has a similar problem with mail/calendar after downloaing i.O.S. 8.1 onto iPhone 5.

Can't get internet after downloading ios 7.1.1 on my iphone 4s.
This morning I downloaded ios 7.1.1 on my iphone 4s. Then none of my apps would connect to the internet. I reset networks, I was able to connect for a few minutes, but now I cannot. Wifi is detected and works, but my iphone is not connecting. I reset networks a second time to no avail. Please help.
I have been having the same issue (with both Wifi and Cellular Data) since I have Downloaded the IOS 7.1.1 update...
The applications show an error, "No Internet connection"..
Keep in mind that all of my other devices are using the same Wifi, and are working fine...
Please resolve this matter ASAP...

You need to continue with the Recovery...
Once the Device is in Recovery Mode... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... After the successful Recovery... Restore from the most recent Backup...

Why does my iPhone become so lag and slow after downloading iOS 8?
My iPhone 5S and iPad Mini Retina Display become so lag after after downloading iOS 8. When i open an app or press any button, it response very slow. For instance, opening a Facebook app take about 30s for it to load, answering a phone call take half a seconds to response. Not only that, my iPad keep restarting when I am FaceTime-ing about 3 minutes. This update has got me so frustrated! It is so unstable!
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).

Hi, I am just after downloading ios 5 to my iphone but now the apps on my phone won't work, even the free ones. Have tried deleting and reinstalling but it asks for credit card details even for the free apps. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks
If it is asking for account details then it might just need you to confirm your account before it lets you proceed. Maybe the terms and conditions changed since last time or something like that. Try signing into your Apple account in iTunes on a computer first to check that. Then restart the phone and try again.

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

After downloading IOS 6 all my stored pictures were wiped off. I later noticed that the pictures are still there on photo stream on my Facebook and google accounts. How do I transfer these pictures back to my iPad from any of these accounts?
I once had a sync problem that turned out to be that a specific photo was corrupted and impeded the process from continuing. Try to see if it gets stuck at a specific photo, then delete just that one.

After downloading IOS 7.1.1 on my ipad, it will neither boot up nor shut down . it maintains a picture of "itunes" phrase with a picture under that of the plug and cord pointing toward the phrase. It is stuck!
It is restored now. Thanks for the comment about disabling firewalls - we did that and tried again and it worked.

Hello, I hope by now you have resolved the upgrade issue, but if not, here is what I ended up having to do:
“SUCCESS!!! I took my iPod to a friend who is a computer programmer/genius. He turned off his wireless, hooked the ethernet cable directly into his computer, and the download went through without a hitch. YAY!”

It has the 2.1.2 ios on it, but after I paid for the upgrade to 3.1.1, I keep getting an error message (8288) saying there was a problem with the network connection. I have called customer service, and they suggested I try on a different computer, and if that didn't work, try connecting to a different network, and then trying the update. None of this has worked. It seems that tech support is clueless with this issue.
I have installed and unistalled iTunes 10.5, 10.3, 10.4, and now I am back with 10.5. I have tried looking up the issue from several search engines but no one seems to have a universal solution and I have tried several.
I really want to have this thing updated for himw hwne he opens it, but I am starting to worry that my purchase was a bust. I know this is the oldest version, but I don't want to buy a newer, more expensive iPod and him still not be mature enough to really take care of it. As I said, this one is a starter.

In what way? Your MyPhotoStream photos will show in in the Photos.app in the "Recently Added" album, but their is no longer a "My Photo Stream" album.
If you enabled "iCloud Photo Library Beta" in the "Video/Photos" Settings, disable it. This will prevent the Photo Stream from syncing from your Macs to the iOS 8 devices. -

I don't know if this helps, but I experienced a similar issue with my iPad 2 after updating to iOS 7.
My "solution" to the problem, after pulling out my hair for hours, is to plug it in the wall charger, and then shut the iPad down completely. It does charge when turned off, although a bit slower than usual, or so it seems. Pheeew...:-) I realize that this is a pain if you have a problem with an iPhone, because you have to turn it off to charge it. Presuming that this works, of course. Otherwise, I don't know..
After the update, the iPad simply does not respond when i plug in the charger, nor does it connect to the USB port. The battery just keeps wearing down. I think it could be connected to the firmware change that iOS 7 brings, which I guess in itself has to do with Apple wanting to block out 3rd party manufacturers of power adapters of the new "lightning" type.
The only thing I can think of that might have gone wrong on my part concerning the update is that I didn't have it plugged in while installing the update - although I believe this is recommended from Apple. I'm thinking that in my case the new firmware update simply hasn't registered any adapter present upon installation, and that might have caused the iPad to not recognize an adapter at all, regardless of type. I have always used original Apple adapters, btw, so I'm not really guilty of anything other than not plugging it in while updating - or, at least that's my own theory. Which is better than no theory at all.. ;-)
Obviously, I'm waiting eagerly for Apple to solve this issue. Not really happy at all with this.. -
After downloading iOS 8.1.3, I lost the use of messaging, face time and shortly there after my e-mail. I changed and reset everything I could on my I-Pad... same result. It can't be my router or my provider, for my I-Pod touch works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks, Val

As I understand it, you are not able to use iMessage, FaceTime or any email service on your phone. Saying you've tried everything would generally make me recommend that you restore the phone from a backup but that can take a long time, so without knowing exactly what steps you have taken, I would like for you to review the troubleshooting in the following article for FaceTime and iMessage:
