Lost ability to control bluetooth volume with iOS 4

I have an iPhone 3Gs and upgraded to iOS4 last night. Everything works well except that I can no longer control my BlueAnt V1 bluetooth volume via the headset or the iphone. I have re-booted the phone, re-paired the headset to no avail. The volume control works fine for speaker and phone directly, but stays on high with the bluetooth... Any other suggestions? Is it just a new software glitch?

Did you only try re-pairing your did you delete the old pairing first.
Try deleting the old pairing in both the phone and the BlueAnt, restart both devices and then try re-pairing the two together.
In the iPhone to delete the pairing;
Settings - General - Bluetooth - Select the blue arrow of the device - Forget this device
To restart the iphone, hold home/sleep buttons together until you see the swipe to turn off and do that. The turn the phone back on.
You'll have to look up your user manual on how to delete the pairing in the BlueAnt.

How do I control itunes volume with my Apple Remote?

I have been using the Apple remote for a while now, but recently i have got a airplay device, for which the volume from the mac can be controlled only by the itunes volume slider and not the mac volume.
can someone please guide as to how i can change the itunes volume with the remote?

I don't know how to do it with the actual silver Apple Remote. However with the Remote app on you phone then the volume control is at the bottom just like normal. When you use the Airplay symbol to send the content to the airplay device say Apple TV you can use the volume slider to control the volume.

My iphone 5 has started to have a problem controlling the volume with the buttons on the side? How to fix?

Like I read in many other posts I'm starting to have Wi-Fi trouble.
Known networks that were no problem recognizing and connecting to automatically with IOS 7.0.2. and downwards are starting to have trouble. Network not found or when found a connection is not made automatically.
Also then trying to connect manually is a problem, as the network jiggers / flickers between the upper Wi-Fi connection field and the field 'known networks'....
So I point near the network with my finger I want to connect to al the time....
Normally this kind of thing is funny and I can laugh about it.
But now I wish I could downgrade to IOS 7.0.2...

Why did the recent iOS 6 update disable our ability to control the volume in FaceTime?

So my girlfriend and I spend a lot of time using facetime everyday. We normally use headphones or earbuds because she wants privacy to speak with me. The recent update in facetime has been permanently set so the volume in facetime is loud.. So now it hurts our ears to use headphones. Why was disabling a great feature such as turning the volume down taken away? Is there away to downgrade to a previous iOS update?

I am having this issue as well. I'd prefer for my conversations to be more private. Also, the noise gate is far too sensitive, I can see my friends lips move, they are speaking at a reasonable level, but their words are cut off because they are below the threshold which Apple has set. I'd honestly prefer to hear backgound noise.
As far as the volume control issue, this is just silly. Why is it that Apple should be the dictator of what is an acceptible volume level for conversations? I'm not going to wear headphones every time I use facetime (anyways, I did try it once and the volume was absolutely too loud. No, I'm not going to buy new headphones with volume control, just for facetime).

Bluetooth issues with IOS 5.0 and Volkswagen

Ever since 5.0 came out my VW bluetooth connects ok in the car however when you leave the car ,the volume on the ringer stays at two bars and is almost inaudible. There are also playback issues at times of music when connected to VW bluetooth in that the volume stays at zero volume and i have to turn it up to hear the music. The ringer volume problem is the most annoying as it causes me to miss calls. Is anyone working on this?

Great news everyone!!! I installed iOS 5.1 beta on my iPhone 4 and the volume Bluetooth problem is gone!!!
For most unless you are in the Apple iOS developer program you won't be able to install it yet but once it's released the problem should be fixed.
Something to note.. I did have to turn the volume up once after it connected to my 2012 VW GTI. Since then it has stayed where I put it and I couldn't be happier.
Not happy with how long it took to get resolved but nonetheless happy it is resolved. Let just hope it stays resolved when it goes public.

Since I updated to iOS 6.1 I can't Sync any of my bluetooth earpieces, Jawbone and Ant. Both worked fine until upgrade.

Thanks, I tried & is not working. When I try to pair, the wheel goes around and around without pairing with any Bluetooth. I now tried headphone, my car GPS. The iPhone is not pairing.

I just solved my problem in my 4S was not connecting to my car BLUETOOTH
I noticed my phone would not connect to my KINDLE app either.
I uninstalled KINDLE app.
I went to SETTINGS GENERAL and selected RESET menu
I selected RESET NETWORK SETTINGS first
then I selected RESET ALL SETTINGS (this option will not erased data)
I resintalled KINDLE and was able to connect
Checked with my car and was able to pair it via BLUETOOTH as it was before.
Hope this will help more people.

Speaker Volume with IOS 6 installed

Just installed IOS6 into Iphone 4S and found along with my collegue (aslo 4S) who found the same, that the speaker volume accross multiple apps has been reduced to a whisper with the IOS6 upgrade. Any one else having this problem or any fixes you can suggest?

No, restoring the phone will install the latest iOS version.
If you go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings, the phone will revert to its fresh out of the box state, but iOS will not be reloaded - you'll still have iOS 6. See if the problem is fixed, and if it is, load your data back manually.

Help: I can't control brightness/volume with F keys anymore.

I'm using a Windows XP pro OS on my Macbook.
Up until recently I was able to control the brightness and volume using the F1-F5 keys. Now all of a sudden, those buttons do completely different things.
F1 now opens some help window.
F2 renames files and folders.
F3 opens the search window.
F4 opens address bars.
F5 refreshes windows.
I never use F6 and up.
I tried using the [fn] key, but that doesn't work either.
Another thing I tried was going to the +Boot Camp Control Panel+ in the computer's +Control Panel+. I selected the keyboard tab and checked/unchecked the "use the F1-F12 keys" option. But that didn't work either.
I want to be able to control the brightness/volume using those F keys. What should I do? Can someone please help?

Gallery App Help/Lost ability to control whether to resize a photo when emailing

When emailing photos and using the Gallery App I had the option to resize or not. I could select a new size and select "Always" or "Just Once". I don't have the option anymore and I really need to get it back. What do I do?
Example:
I'd begin to compose an email and then I'd select add an attachment & it would take me to the list & I'd select "Picture" at the top of the list on the right hand side. It would take me to the Gallery App where I could select a photo. Before attaching it I would get asked if I wanted to resize it or not along with resizing options to select from. I could use for example like small, medium, and large just by selecting the toggle I wanted. It would also ask "Just Once" or "Always". I think somewhere I may have accidentally hit "always" when I was in a rush & I did not know it. Now all my photos are resized when emailing them and I don't get a choice. I want the choice back not having photos always resized.
I have an LG phone if that makes a difference.
What do I do? Please help!

I don't get an error message. The Gallery App automatically resizes the
photos when I try to email them. I had the option to resize or not resize
and it would come up as "Just Once" or "Always" and I could pick the size
of the phone like, original, large, medium, small. I like being in control
of the photos I email from my phone. I have not had any recent software
updates. Under About Phone it says phone name: VS980 4G LTE and when I send
emails it reads at the bottom "Verizon 4G LTE Smartphone"

Lost ability to download PDF documents with upgrade to 4.0

Before upgrading to 4.0 could go to a website and click on a document, then pick a specific page to download to Adobe Reader 8 and get a clean PDF document. After upgrading could go to the same site, download a document and the site would show that it was transmitted to me but I would only get a blank page. Have downloaded the (what I believe to be) correct add-on to 4.0 for PDF reception.

There is a Mac Version of Adobe Acrobat which does this. There was a hiatus when there was some incompatibility between the MacOS, QuickTime and Adobe Acrobat of the time, but as far as I know, everything works fine today.
You may have problems starting with a Pages document though. I think InDesign is the best starting point.

Is there a way to automatically control the audio volume on safari? Some streaming video sites (Hulu, in particular), like to try to deafen me with the commercials. And yes, I'm not an idiot, I know that I can manually control the volume.

I've been searching for some way to automatically control the volume, so the commercials on streaming sites (Hulu, for example), don't deafen me. And yes, I am aware that I can manually control the volume with the volume keys on the keyboard or the slider in the menubar.

This really frustrates me, small differences between the apps that shouldn't be there.
I understand you can't change the keyboard shortcuts to be the same/similar, but this is totally different. Let's hope it changes soon.

Is there any way to control the volume on my Apple TV?

Here's the scenario: I have a small amplifier under my couch that controls the speakers connected to my Apple TV. When I use Airplay from my iPhone to listen to music, I'm able to control the volume right from the music App on my phone- this is perfect because I don't like to reach under the couch to change the volume. However, there are two scenarios when I cannot seem to adjust the volume anywhere except on the amp. These are:
First: Using Airplay while playing a video from my MacBook Pro to the Apple TV. In this case, the volume slider in iTunes suddenly has a little lock icon on it and is unadjustable. Is there any way to unlock the volume?
Second: When using the Apple TV directly to play any media- music or movies. The volume up and down buttons on the Apple TV don't control the volume. I'm forced to reach under the couch to adjust the volume- which happens quite frequently. Is there any way to control the output volume of the Apple TV?
The lack of volume control has been super disappointing. I've been a (multiple) airport express user for years so kind of expected Airplay to work the same for video- with the ability to control the volume from whatever device was transmitting. Can anyone help me?

Andrew- this is how I would expect things to work. However, when I use airplay from my iPhone to say, play a youtube video, the volume on the phone is suddenly rendered useless and I'm forced to adjust the amplifier. When I just play audio from the phone, the volume works.
It's the same on my macbook pro. If I mirror the screen, my computer's volume affects the speakers volume. However, if I am in itunes and play a movie and use airplay for that, I get a lock on the volume. Is this a setting somewhere?
