Lost ability to select/edit multiple images

my apologies if this is a simple question. I must have somehow disabled the feature that allowed me to select multiple images (i.e. images 1-10 within a particular project/folder) and edit them all at once. when i select multiple images and attempt to edit/stamp/rotate all at once, only the last selected image (i.e. #10) is changed. is there a feature i somehow disabled that is causing this? i never had problems with this feature prior to a few weeks ago.

primary only was selected ...
keyboard shortcut is 'S' ... also under Edit -> Primary Only ...
third place is on the bottom control bar ...

  • Editing multiple images at once..

I use Aperture as a key app in my workflow to make panoramic images, and I would have loved the ability to select multiple images and do adjustments that applied to a whole selection without the need for lift and stamp. In my eyes that would be sooo much smoother than the current approach.
    Anyone else with this need?
    Sincerely,
    Kjell Are Refsvik

I've been doing all the main pano-editing in Photoshop, and then bringing a reduced copy of the final into Aperture, but now I'll bring in the final copy as a referenced file.
A little workaround for adding info for non-image files such as QTVRs - make a custom metadata tag such as 'QTVR path', use a path-copying contextual menu such as Path Snagger to grab the location of the QTVR file and paste it into the tag. If you use a unix path it's then easy to copy the path, swap to the Finder and hit Command-Shift-G to 'go to folder'.
There was an AppleScript somewhere on the forum that would export images from multiple Albums to a folder structure where each folder had the same name as the Album, that's also very handy for batch-exporting a load of panos.
I've taken this idea a bit further and made a rough helper app which exports all Albums within an Aperture Folder to their own folders in the Finder, makes a PTGui project file, loads the project file, finds control points and then saves the file again. Email me if you want a copy to play around with.

  • Ability to Select non-Keyworded Images

Working through importing images I stamp most on import. On rare occasion this is not applicable as they are so varied.
    FEATURE REQUEST:
To make sure my library has all my photos keyworded I would like the ability to click under Keywords->Non-Keyworded. This would display all photos without any keywords.
Thanks and hope this simple fix can be implemented.
    Wayne

    from Lightroom-Extra.com
Find all untagged (non keyworded) images.
    1) make sure you are not using quick collection.
    2) Grid mode / Library / click all photographs.
    3) Select all displayed images Mac "Apple A". Then press B for a Quick collection.
    4) Deselect all images.
    5) Now Grid mode / keywords / and shift click all keywords.
    6) select all images in the grid, Mac "Apple A". press B to deselect from the  Quick collection.
    7) Grid mode / Library / select quick collection, they are all non keyworded items.
    or
Shift select all Keywords in Keyword Tags.
    Select All in Grid. Cmd/Ctl-A.
    Go to All Photographs.
    Menu/Edit/Invert Selection
You can then press 'B' to put them in Quick Collection to work on.
After Keywording each one or selection of images, while still selected do 'B' to drop them from QC as done and go to the next.

  • Editing MULTIPLE images with lightroom 2 corrections in CS3

Does anyone know how to send multiple images with LR2 corrections to CS3
for further editing? If I select multiple images in LR2 and click photo/edit in/photoshop cs3 only one image opens in photoshop. If I could send more than one image at a time it would greatly speed up my workflow.
    Thanks

It works for me when I highlight multiple images, right-click on one of them, choose edit in Photoshop. If this isn't working for you, is it possible that your Photoshop screen mode is such that you have to switch images using the Window option on the menu?

  • Can you edit multiple images from a PDF in photoshop?

I scan a lot of old publications with images and drawings. The images are in greyscale, but my scanner produces better results set to color. As such, I have to convert the images to greyscale in Photoshop from Acrobat. I have several PS actions that make this process easier, but I wish there was a way to select multiple images from a page or PDF file and run the actions on them (a batch) instead of one at a time. Is there? Or perhaps another method than what I am doing?

I recommend that you scan first, save as TIFF, do any desired correction, and only then make PDFs. Scanning direct to PDFs is great for simple uncomplicated workflows, but a liability when correction is needed.

  • Editing multiple images in main window - PSE 9

In PSE 8 I was able to bring up multiple images in the main window to edit simultaneously. In PSE 9 I can't seem to find a way to reduce the image so that I can slide another one alongside it. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Adding to Barbar's comment.
1 .Also to see the images directly choose the "Windows>Tile"  option to see all images at a time.
    2. If this is cluttering your space (if large number of files are opened) then choose the "Arrange Documents Option for 2, 3 or more images. This option is                  located at the top beside the menus or above or below the menus.

  • Lost ability to select multiple images easily in Organizer

I have always been able to select a range of photos by clicking on the first and then Shift-clicking on the last photo in the range.  Everything in MS Windows and almost all Windows apps work this way.
Suddenly, I can no longer even select an image by clicking it in Organizer.  The only way to select is to drag a rectangle around the particular photo until it's selected.  The only way I can select more than one is to hold down the CTRL key while dragging selection boxes around additional files.  The only way I can select a range of photos is to laboriously CTRL-drag-select each one individually.
What in the world happened?  I cannot see anything in Preferences that applies to this situation and searching on the keywork, "select" turns up nothing applicable.
    Thanks.
    Ron

    Hi Ron
Open Organizer and press Ctrl+K to bring up preferences.
Along the bottom row of buttons try clicking the one to the left “Restore Default Settings”
Close the program and re-open it. See if that works.

  • Lost ability to view edited images alongside original in library

    Hi
Not sure what I have done but I am using lightroom 1.4. Previously, any pictures I edited would show as an edited file in the library now all that happens is the original image shows as the edited image. Does that make sense?

You mean LR 4.1, not 1.4?
Maybe your edits are now stacked with their originals?
In Library module, use menu Photo - Stacking - Expand all stacks.
Sometimes I dod not find my edits right along the originals, because I had set the sort order to "edit time" rather than "capture time", so I found them as last thumbnails. This explanation could only apply to you if you had put the sequence from z-to-a as well, because otherwise you would only see the originals, not the editied ones.

  • Scanning/Editing Multiple Images

Using Elements v6.0 to scan stacks of technical drawings to include in database with photos.  I import batches from scanner into Edit with multiple files tool to save as .pdf's in folders in Windows XP.  Order of files in batches save in backward order...must take many stacks of images and re-stack in backward order in order for get proper order when saved. I notice that the order is correct when transferred from the scanner import to edit screen.  Order reverses when files are saved as .pdf's  Any way around this?

Use leading zeros in file names and that should help e.g 0001_NewYork.pdf; 0002_NewYork.pdf etc

  • Edit Multiple Images in photoshop cs5

I am trying to apply the same affects thru a action to about 50 some odd photos. I don't want to go thru them individually so how do you do them all at once? Can you convert them to smart objects then apply the action? I tried this but once i want to edit them from a smart object they return to what they were before. Any suggestions?

You could use Automate>Batch or Scripts>Image Processor.

  • Lost ability to right click multiple files and choose 'open with'

In XP I can select a bunch of mp3 files, for example, right click and choose 'open with...' whatever application I want.
In windows 7 I only get 'open with' in the context menu on single files. How do I enable 'open with' for a selection of files? Please tell me Windows 7 hasn't disabled this useful behaviour.

    Hi,
You can change the register key to realize the function.
For example, your mp3 player is windows media player, you can copy the following content (without quote) to the notepad and save it with the “.reg” extension.
    The context is below:
Warning: While this procedure might solve the issue or problem, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk. For more information about modifying the registry, see Microsoft support article 256986.
    “Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell]
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\open with]
    @="open with player"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\open with\command]
    @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Media Player\\wmplayer.exe\" \"%1\""
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\removeproperties]
    "ProgrammaticAccessOnly"="Apartment"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\removeproperties\DropTarget]
    "CLSID"="{09a28848-0e97-4cef-b950-cea037161155}" ”
You should change the bold text with the path of your player. After you’ve changed the key, you can right click the chosen MP3 files and choose “open with player” to play the music.
If you still have some problems, please post here.

  • Ability to adjust multiple images at the same time as in Bridge

Why the extra step of having to sync develop settings? Why not have lightroom's develop module work like Camera Raw? I would like the ability to select my main image and any others that need the same adjustments, then make adjustments to the one while the others are being updated at the same time just like in ACR. Please add this simple feature - it really saves time and is consistent with the way ACR works.
Also, just realized that syncing metadata does not sync keywords. This needs to be addressed ASAP. Just wondering how the engineers overlooked this! It should do it automatically or as an option in the sync metadata options box that pops up when syncing.
Overall, I really like lightroom and see a lot of potential once it's totally dialed. Please Adobe keep it coming with the updates!
    Thanks for listening-
    Scott

You can already do this a couple of ways...use Auto-Sync or Quick Develop.

  • Selecting multiple image files on the 'insert picture' menu in word

    Hi there,
I am trying to insert multiple pictures at once into a word document, on office for mac 2011.
I am using the 'insert picture' option from the toolbar. Shift-click doesn't work like on a PC, and i have tried a variety of button combinations that don't seem to have any effect! Is there any way around this so I don't have to insert picture files into a word document one at a time?
    Thanks!

You are right, it does not work. Here is a workaround by doing an intermediate stopover in TextExit (it's in your Dock and/or in your Applications folder):
In the Finder, select your multiple image files
Right-click (or control-click) and select "Copy # items"
    Go to TextEdit and paste
Do Select All (Command A) followed by Copy (Command C)
Go back to Word and paste your heart out
