Lost adjustments when exporting & importing brightness shift

I have just up graded to lightroom 5.5 I am using cloud working on a Mac with Maverick / when I export an image from lightroom with adjustments to a folder on the desk top as a tiff file then go and re-import the file it strips all the adjustments from the image. Also when "edit in" CC a image that has had adjustments applied in LR more adjustments in cc then "saved as" a tiff file in the original folder or any folder back in LR the image becomes very light as if some has adjusted the brightness level I have colour synced both CC & LR .can anyone shed some light on this?

Okay ... so first you locate where you want music to be stored, then you drag & drop the iTunes folder into iTunes (making sure to UNCHECK the "Copy Music When Adding to Library" under Preferences).
THEN you import the playlists! DUH!
Okay then ... why are some songs STILL not located after importing a playlist? It doesn't tell you which ones ....
But it looks like a majority of music has showed up, so I ain't complainin', but why is some stuff still considered missing??

APEX 4.Loosing translatable text when exporting/importing to new workspace

Hi everyone,
I am developing a bilingual application (base English translated to french) and I noticed something weird when exporting/importing to another workspace.
First, my application is flagged as requiring synchronization after an import. Yes, I did check that it was not flagged right before the export. I did choose Export Translations.
Secondly, when I look at the translated application in the new workspace, my Region Names are not translated anymore (in english instead of french). When I cmpare the 2 Translation Repositories (using the Manually Edit Translation Repository) I lost all Region Names entries (Column Description = Region name).
Thirdly, when again comparing the 2 Translation Repositories, I have the same number of Strings and Distinct Strings by if I group by Column Descriptions the sub-totals differ and I don't even have the same distinct Column Descriptions.
My test was done with my development workspace and a test workspace (where I deleted all application prior to my test) in the same instance.
Anybody had these problems?

Well....I guess "they lied" would be me, huh?
Unfortunately, this is a bug. This issue with region titles was first reported in Bug in 4.1.1: Region Title translations is lost I recorded it as Bug 13801807 - REGION TITLE TRANSLATIONS LOST WHEN IMPORTING AS A NEW APPLICATION ID. It's fixed in APEX 4.2.

Error when exporting/importing

I am using MDM 7.1
When I export the schema from my Dev system to import into QA I get the following Error:
"This repository requires additional steps before transport. See the MDS log for details.
In the log my issue is that I am trying to export an Assignment that includes an expression that uses "look-ups".
In my Dev system I removed the expression to confirm if this is the issue, once I no longer have expressions with look-ups then it allows me to export the schema. I then tries to import it to QA (since the expressions are not changing I planned on excluding them from the import as a temporary workaround.
however I get the same error message when trying to import. It seems that I can not export or import with a system that has an assignment with an expression that uses look-ups.
Is there some config I am missing?

Hi Brad,
assignments/validations are a general problem when it comes to Schema exports/imports! What you can do in case there are not too many assignments - is to delete the assignments and create them new (manually) after you have imported the schema.

Re-ordering of SQL-script when exporting/importing a BA

Our Discoverer environment is divided up in multiple business areas (development, test and live). To move reports and business areas between these areas, we've been using import/export business areas. Recently, I made a business area in development with a report to track raw materials and test results from finished goods - through several loops of the stocktrans table. Using the same variables I end up with a 80 second performance on the development business area with report, but moving the report to test this performance exploded to 1,260 seconds.
I looked into the SQL statements and found that tables were loaded in the order they were included in the development BA, but they were loaded in alphabetical order in the test BA. I'm not sure if this could be the cause of the heavy performance decrease, but it's the only thing that I changed from BA to BA.
Anyone notice similar performance variances due to import/export of business areas?

keep in mind that everything you see in either iMovie or iDVD is a preview - and, of course, only the end result counts ....
As for switching to a high definition camera: my advice would be to buy a MiniDV based HDV camcorder (e.g. Sony HDR-HC or Panasonic HV series). Most of these cameras shoot in 1080i, where the i stands for interlaced - as opposed to p for progressive - and thus you'll have to edit in that format unless you convert the footage first.
If you absolutely want to shoot progressive, you'll have to either spend $$$$ or resort to an AVCHD camcorder which records in some flavor of h.264/MPEG-4 .... IMHO not the best choice.
Another thought here: if you absolutely want to de-interlace your footage, have a look at JES Deinterlacer (freeware): http://www.xs4all.nl/~jeschot/home.html

Lost text when exported text to another computer

Hello everyone,
The new FCPX is great whith the libraries and all, but I still loose my text everytime I use another computer with the FCPX projects and files on my hard drive… Everything goes with it BUT the text (subtitles or titles made in FCP not Motion)…
Anyone knows why ?

Last spring I was involved in an unusually complicated project that built upon a FCP 7 TL, and pulled in a smorgasbord of file formats and effects from various third party apps. The project was cut on two systems, using the same version of X (although different OS versions), referencing media on shared storage, Each time the FCP X work was switched from one system to other, we lost our lower thirds. At the time, I didn't try to diagnose the issue because of time constraints. So they were updated when the movie was finished,
I had assumed that the cause was unrendered title clips (rendering would have really slowed things)…hence my advice, which apparently is bogus. (BTW, I did test before I posted that advice – rendering lower third to see whether they traveled and they did.) Another thing to mention…all of our lower thirds were custom-made in Motion; but apparently that isn't the cause of your issue either.
Hopefully someone here will come up with some better theories…or perhaps a bug that pops up under certain circumstances.

Oracle 9 spatial index export/import

when exporting/importing a user via exp/imp I encounter a problem with the numeric characters encoding during creation of a spatial index.
Imp tool produces script like this:

You might need to set the NLS_LANG environment variable to get character set conversion done on import (I don't know this unfortunately - it has never been a problem for me).
There is a section on character set conversions in the utilities manual.

Round trip export/import from Mac OSX iCal

Since there isn't an iSync plug-in for Oracle Calendar (yet?) I thought I'd try a round-trip import/export between Oracle Calendar and Mac OSX iCal. Inconvenient, but it should would because the UIDs in the .ics file would be the same and an import would overlay over the existing entries.
Wrong -- if I export an event from iCal, import it into Oracle Calendar, then export it again and look at the .ics file, the UID is different. Consequently, I get duplicate entries at the end of the round trip.
What good is the "U"-Unique of UID if it isn't kept consistently? From the standard: "Implementations MUST be able to receive and persist values of at least 255 characters for this property."

Keywords & categories go missing during export & import

I noticed that when exporting & importing a service, the keywords & categories are kept in the imported service, but disappeared from the exported one. Is that how it should work, or is there an error?

Hi, I wonder if anybody else has experienced this? Is it a general issue or is it only us - probably due to erroneous setup? I sincerely someone, or at least newScale is able to give me an explanation.
I use the export & import functionality because it saves time not having to enter the same information or do the same setup twice. But then you have to spend time re-entering all the keywords & categories, which is really a waste of time and doesn't make sense. Additionally, unless you realise & do the necessary, all the services from which you 'copied from' are left without keywords & categories.

When i import a word.doc and open on my iPad in Pages, and then later export and reopen as a word.doc on my PC, hyphenation is lost

when i import a word.doc to my iPad in Pages and then, later, export back to my PC as a word.doc, why does hyphenation disappear?

Perhaps it would work better if you use one of the apps specifically designed to interface with MS Word, instead of Pages which has to convert everything in and out.

Lose sharpening adjustments made in aperture when exporting

I shoot in RAW with a Canon EOS Reble T3i. I edit my photos in Aperture. I find it so much more user freindly then Photoshop. However, i am having an issue with losing deatil to my edidted images when exporting or uploading. Even exported as 'Original File' it doesnt keep sharpening adjustments.
If there is no resolution for this i am going to have to swith over to Photoshop. Loss on Apple's end
Anyone having the similar issue? Have any suggestions aside from switching to a different photo editor?

I have tried exporting in all different formats and there is still a loss in sharpening adjustments to my photos. I had the same issue before i started shooting in RAW, so i know its not an issue with that.
Where do i set up my export options? I am new to Mac and am still trying to get the hang of the machine.
The picture on the left is what i can view in Aperture and the one on the left is in the preview window. if you notice, mostly around the eyes, the sharpening that i have applied in Aperture is no longer there. When i export to email sharpening is also lost. I am expected to have pictres put on a disc for a client but i fear that even exported to a disc my edits will be lost.

WIll I have duplicate problems when I Export / Import Project?

This is my first try at Exporting / Importing a Project to benefit from having Aperture on the road on a MacBook.
I run a secondary instance of Aperture on my MacBook with a managed library. I used it last week to rate, and adjust 40 images from a shoot while on the road. Those images are in Project ABC. My objective is to not lose all the adjustment work done while away now that I wish to re-locate these images to my primary instance of Aperture which runs on an iMac. I won't need them any longer on the MacBook.
I've exported Project ABC, and it's now sitting on the desktop of the iMac ready for import into Aperture where the library is also managed.
Between the shoot and today, however, I had uploaded the same images from my CF card to the iMac's Aperture library into Project XYZ. No work has been performed on any of them, but the image names are identical to those in Project ABC waiting to be imported.
My plan is to import Project ABC, and, assuming everything comes over in good shape, to delete the unadjusted masters/versions in Project XYZ one by one.
Question 1: When image GEN_1234.nef with all its adjustments, etc., contained in Project ABC, is imported, will Aperture have a problem that GEN_1234.nef (unadjusted) already is in the library in Project XYZ?
Question 2: I've checked the MacBook after exporting, and Project ABC looks as though nothing ever happened. Does this sound right? I'd expected the Masters to be gone, but "M" toggles between the master and the adjusted version.

Problem #2 is not a problem. We have been able to somewhat install Oracle when those warnings appear. The client install works fine with those warning messages in the terminal window. NOTE: They are just warnings...

Formatting lost when exported to excel

When I export a worksheet results to excel the formatting is being lost like in my worksheet I wanted a line and space for every grouped item which is lost in excel sheet. Is there a way get around for this ?

Not exactly sure what formatting you're having a problem with, but I'll list some of the points I can think of, of exporting to Excel and will hopefully cover it. I believe you may be referring to point 1 below, but just in case ...
1. If you have group sort on for a column or more, then when exported to Excel, you won't have those 'blank' values for the column(s) that's grouped. That's why when you know someone will be exporting to Excel, it's a pain as all group sorts are usually taken back off (which can screw up exactly what you're trying to point out in the workbook).
2. If you have a page -> item (ie: lots of values you pull down like a LOV), then I believe, that you won't get an Excel worksheet for each value in the LOV but only for the one currently displayed when you performed the File -> Export.
3. When you export to Excel, you only get actual values, no functions of how it was calculated (ie: it'll be static, not dynamic).
4. You can export to Excel using Plus and might not get the formatting characteristics you want in Excel. I've seen users specifically bring up Viewer just to get the formatting characteristics (colors, fonts, etc.) when they export from that Disco version.
5. Sometimes when you export from Disco to Excel, that actual value that gets posted in Excel is different. I know ... it sounds wierd, but it's a fact. The problem is NOT Disco, but is a problem with Windows and a setting has to be altered (although I'd have to hunt what that setting is now though). However, I've only seen this happen a few times, so definitely not the norm.

Export/Import Parameters dissapear when using user-exit

I am using some import/export parameters in a dynamic action when I create a new record (infotype). I am also using a user exit to avoid modifying BEGDA and ENDDA when I modify the record (IPSYST = 'MOD'). Using this user-exit, the parameters dissapear from memory so the dynamic action does not execute well. What can I do to use the user-exit?? Anything to add?

In the dinamic actions when I create, I delimit records on infotype with export/import parameters defined in infotype Module Pool. When I delete, I avoid deleting the record if it is not the last one. With the user-exit the modification of begda endda in infotype is not allowed. If I use the user-exit, the dinamic actions which use export/import parameters, don't work.
I have tried to do in MP what I do in user-exit but it is not easy because I haven´t got in PSAVE what I want.

I have lost my photos/videos when i imported from my ipad 2 to my new imac latest version and it's not reading the files. I have downloaded iMac library manager and can see them. can someone shed some light please ?

So it appears you have only one library on the hard drive. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed to that library:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Doubt in export, import and table para when creating Function Module

Dear fellow ABAPers,
I have a doubt in defining export, import and table parameter while creating a function module.
I am calling a function module inside a user exit. Now in the user exit the SAP fills an internal table called i_lfa1 with all the data user has eneterd.
Now I want to pass this whole internal table to function module and the perform some checks on the values of internal table.
After that function module fills an error structure with values depending on some check.

How do I pass this internal table to function module ?
When I am creating function module in se37 where do I define this iternal table type ? Is it in Import or Table parameter during function module creation?
2)
Where do I define error structure type (which is returned by function module to main program)? Is it in Export or table parameter during function module creation?
Please clear my doubt..

   I assume u are creating your own Y/Z FM.
   Pass it thru TABLES parameter.
2. When I am creating function module in se37 where do I define this iternal table type

   What Type ?
   THE SAME TYPE WHICH HAS BEEN DEFINED
    WHILE PASSING IN THE USER-EXIT FUNCTION MODULE.
   IF U SEE THE FM OF THE USER-EXIT,
   U WILL COME TO KNOW.

Define it in TABLES interace. (not in export, import)
(Since what u are going to return is an internal table)
U can take for eg. BDCMSGCOLL.
OR u can create your own Y/Z structure
for the same purpose.
(or u can use the structure type T100)
