Lost Adobe Tab in Excel

I highlighted and set print area in excel and went to convert to pdf. it had this window pop up saying "searching for hyperlinks" (which by the way there was no hyperlinks on the spreadsheet) and it just stayed at that window for over 15 minutes. i stppoed that running and when i did that, i lost my adobe tab at the top of excel. I have the tab in office, word...all other offfice programs, but not excel. i tryed the whole com add in and re started but it didnt work.
anyone have any ideas?

Depends on the version of OFFICE, but there is typically a toolbar option that needs to be activated. Do you still have the Adobe menu?
Also, if you don't need the extra stuff in a PDF, just print to the Adobe PDF printer and you will typically have a smaller file. There are cases where the tabs and all are needed -- those are the times to use PDF Maker.

  • Lost Adobe tab in Word 2007

    Hi,
I had a Word 2007 crash, and when I reopened Word the Adobe tab (for converting to PDF) tab had disappeared
When I go to Word options > Add-ins > COM add-ins I can see a check box with Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM add-in.(exact names may not be accurate, I have a French version of Word)
I checked the option, clicked OK, but I still have no tab. I tried stopping/starting Word, but no luck.
    Any ideas?

I actually just had that happen in our office with Excel.  Here's what I found on the support site: (hope this helps you)
PDFMaker is unavailable in a Microsoft Office 2007 application after you install Acrobat 9 (Windows)
Ratings:0 of 1 people found this helpful
    Issue
The Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker toolbar is unavailable in a Microsoft Office 2007 application after you install Acrobat 9 Standard, Pro, or Pro Extended on Windows.
    Solution
Do one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Enable the PDFMaker add-in in the Office 2007 application's Disabled Items list.
A Microsoft Office 2007 application may automatically disable add-ins as a fail-safe if the application closes unexpectedly (for example, if the system was not shut down properly or if the application crashed). To determine if the PDFMaker add-in has been disabled, do the following:
Open the Microsoft Office 2007 application.
    Do one of the following:
In Access, Excel, Word, or PowerPoint: Click the Microsoft Office button (in the upper-left corner). Click the [Application Name] Options button. Choose Add-Ins in the list on the left side of the Options window. Choose Disabled Items in the Manage drop-down menu at the bottom of the Options window. Click Go.
In Outlook, Publisher, or Visio: Choose Tools > Trust Center. Choose Add-Ins in the list on the left side of the Trust Center window. Choose Disabled Items in the Manage drop-down menu at the bottom of the Trust Center window. Click Go.
In Project: Choose Help > About Microsoft Office Project. Click Disabled Items.
Look in the Disabled Items list for Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In.
If Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In is in the list, then select it, click Enable, and click Close. Then close and re-open the Office 2007 application.
If Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In is not in the list, then use Windows Explorer to make sure that PDFMOfficeAddin.dll is present in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office. If the file is not present, then go to Solution 4 for instructions on how to repair your Acrobat installation.
Note: If you installed Acrobat to a location other than the default of C:\Program Files\Adobe, then modify the folder path above for your installation location.
Solution 2: Manually register the COM add-in file.
Disclaimer: This procedure involves editing the Windows registry. Adobe doesn't provide support for editing the registry, which contains critical system and application information. Make sure to back up the registry before editing it. For more information about the registry, see the Windows documentation or contact Microsoft.
    Close all Office 2007 applications.
In Windows Explorer, locate PDFMOfficeAddin.dll and note its exact path, which may include spaces. Its default path is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll.
    Do one of the following:
On Windows XP: Choose Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
On Windows Vista: Choose Start > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click on Command Prompt, choose Run As Administrator, and authenticate.
In the Command Prompt window, type regsvr32 followed by a space and the path that you noted in Step 1. Enclose the path in quotation marks. For example, if PDFMOfficeAddin.dll is in its default location, then you would type the following command:
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll"
    Press Enter.
A dialog box will confirm that the registration was successful. Click OK to close this dialog box.
    Close the Command Prompt window.
    Open the Office 2007 application.
Solution 3: Verify that Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In is selected in the Office 2007 application's list of available add-ins.
Open the Microsoft Office 2007 application.
    Do one of the following:
In Access, Excel, PowerPoint, or Word: Click the Microsoft Office button (in the upper-left corner). Click the [Application Name] Options button. Choose Add-Ins in the list on the left side of the Options window.
In Outlook, Publisher, or Visio: Choose Tools > Trust Center. Choose Add-Ins in the list on the left side of the Trust Center window.
Choose COM Add-ins in the Manage drop-down menu at the bottom of the Options window or the Trust Center window.
    Click Go.
Look for Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In in the list.
If Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In appears in the list but the checkbox beside it is not selected, then click the checkbox to place a check mark there. Click OK. Then close and re-open the Office 2007 application. (If the Office application doesn't allow you to place a check mark in the checkbox, and if you have already tried Solution 1, then select Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In, click Remove, and proceed to the next paragraph.)
If Adobe PDFMaker COM Add-In is not in the list of available add-ins, then click Add and navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office. Select PDFMOfficeAddin.dll. Click OK. Then close and re-open the Office 2007 application.
Note: If you installed Acrobat to a location other than the default of C:\Program Files\Adobe, then modify the folder path above for your installation location.
Solution 4: Run Repair Acrobat Installation while no other applications are running.
    Close all open applications.
    Restart your computer.
    Open Acrobat.
Choose Help > Repair Acrobat Installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
When the repair process is complete, restart your computer.
Solution 5: Remove and reinstall Acrobat with Windows in a simplified mode.
Device drivers and programs that start automatically when you start your computer can conflict with the Acrobat installer and cause problems. To prevent an installation conflict, reinstall Acrobat while Windows is in simplified mode. In simplified mode, non-essential programs and drivers are disabled.
    To remove Acrobat:
Move any personal files out of the Acrobat application folder and its subfolders. The default location for the application folder is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0.
    Do one of the following:
On Windows XP: Choose Start > Control Panel > Add Or Remove Programs (or Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Or Remove Programs). If the Control Panel is in Category view, then also click Remove A Program.
On Windows Vista: Choose Start > Control Panel > Programs And Features. If the Control Panel is in Category view, then instead choose Start > Control Panel > Uninstall A Program.
In the Add Or Remove Programs window, select Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, Pro, or Pro Extended.
Click Change/Remove (Windows XP) or click Uninstall/Change (Windows Vista).
Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the application.
To reinstall Acrobat in a simplified mode:
    Close all open applications.
Restart the computer with non-essential services and startup items disabled. For instructions, see one of these TechNotes:
    Windows XP: See TechNote kb404984.
    Windows Vista: See TechNote kb404913.
Double-click the Setup.exe file on your Acrobat 9 installation media. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Open Acrobat and choose Help > Check For Updates. Follow the on-screen instructions to install available updates.
Re-enable startup items and services. For instructions, see the appropriate TechNote in Step 2, above.
    Restart your computer.

  • Smartview tab in Excel is disappeared

    Hi ,
The Smartview tab in Excel is disappeared in one of the User machine from today morning.Iit worked yesterday. May i know why it happened. He said he didn't install any updates or anything. I Verified in Enable addin's and it is checked. He is using excel 2003 version.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Mo

You need to make sure there are no disabled components. If Excel crashes, it has a habit of disabling Smartview as it blames Smartview for the crash. You can find these settings in the following places:
    Office 2003
    - Click on Help Menu
    - Click on About Microsoft Excel
    - click on Disabled Items button
    - If any of the Hyperion smartview items are here, enable them.
    Office 2007
    - Click on stupid office circle in upper left
    - Click on Excel Options
    - Click on Add-Ins
    - In the Manage Drop down at the bottom of the window, select Disabled Items and click Go
    - If any of the Hyperion smartview items are here, enable them.
The other scenario I have seen play out is when you have Adobe acrobat installed and it installs it's office plug-in. When Adobe updates, it seems to have an uncanny ability to "knock out" Smartview from excel. The best way I have found to fix it is to:
a.) Fully uninstall Smartview from Control Panel
b.) Go through windows registry and remove all instances of Smartview [YES, you really need to do this, uninstalling is not enough]
    c.) Reinstall SmartView
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
It's been a while since I did this stuff so I apologise if my advice is out of date.
This is actually more of a Micro$oft question as this is their propriety SpreadSheet Markup Language so POI probably won't help. Also, you might want to look at using the default namespace of "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:spreadsheet" as this is the more current implementation unless you need to be backward compatible.
On your specific question, I think that you should be able to put the table tag (SSML not HTML) inside the worksheet and then create the rows and cells in there. I've never tried mixing the 2 markup languages though so I'm not sure how to get the HTML to go into the correct sheet.
    Sorry I couldn't help more :-(

  • Download data from multiple tabs of ALV to tabs of Excel

    Hi,
I have a requirement where ALV is being displayed in 6 tabs. Can a download functionality be provided in such a way that data from all the tabs gets downloaded into multiple sheets of Excel document.
In the attached file, expected output with ALV in multiple tabs is displayed. Are there any Function modules which can be used to download data from ALV in each tab into Excel document sheets in one go?

we have acrobat 11 and office 13.  In word the Adobe tab does not appear in the ribbon

You have to update AA XI to work with AA 2013. You may also have to open the OFFICE tools and enable the add-ons. There is no tool in some of the OFFICE applications. You can check the list in the PDF Maker folder in Acrobat.

  • Unable to see the Hyperion tab in Excel 2003

    Hi Hyperion gurus,
Can anybody shed light on an issue that a user encountered with Smartview? This user installed Smartview and had been using it without any problems. We just started parallel testing and he needed to use Smartview as part of the process. He is now unable to see the add-in in Excel 2003. He has no Hyperion tab and we cannot find any evidence that it has been installed. We reinstalled Smartview but even after reinstalling Smartview he is still unable to see the Hyperion tab in Excel. What is puzzling is that he does have the Hyperion tab in Word and is able to connect.
Would appreciate any help provided? Thanks.

I have seen the same exact problem at my company regarding the missing Hyperion tab in Excel (but present in MicroSoft Word). If you go into Excel, then select 'Help', then About MicroSoft Excel, then you'll see 'Disabled Items'. Scan the list for HSAddin.Dll. If this is on the list, highlight it, then select the 'Enable' button. (this is my first suggestion). I've also had to do the following in some isolated cases:
You should also try re-registering the following 3 SmartView DLL files. To do this, simply locate where these 3 files are stored on your local machine (the file names are):
    HSAddin.dll
    HSSpread.dll
    HyperionSmarttag.dll
Usually these are stored within the following path: C:\Hyperion\Smartview\bin
    To Register the files:
Open DOS (start->run->cmd) and change your path to C:\Hyperion\SmartView\bin
Type in the following, hitting enter key after each line:
    regsvr32 hsaddin.dll
    regsvr32 hsspread.dll
    regsvr32 hyperionsmarttag.dll
You should receive a 'success message' for each file you register. Reboot your machine following this, and go back to Excel. Your menu should now be in place.
    Thanks,
    James Pryal
