Lost adresses in mobile-me

Hi!
I lost hundreds of adresses on my iPhone after deleting .me emailadress on my iPhone. I did'nt know that all adresses where on me.com. and not on my mobile. Is there a possibility to recover the adresss from an old iTunes backup? (because the adresses where only in mobile-me and not on a computer). Now the me.com account is changed to a cloud account and there is no possibility to edit or recover anything anymore from me.com...
Thanx for help and cheers from Switzerland
Peter

If you hadn't set up and turned on MobileMe on it before it was taken then there is nothing that you can do about remotely locating it. If it is lost then have you contacted the airport to check if anybody handed it in and/or reported it to the police - you should also, as a safety precaution, change your iTunes and email account passwords, and any other passwords that were stored on websites or emails/notes etc on it.
And I think that it's just paid accounts that Apple are not currently taking for MobileMe, I just use the free version with my iTunes account/password to access www.me.com which just potentially gives me the chance to locate my devices - though for that they need to be connected to a network and MobileMe still be active on it and the device not have already been wiped.

    Hi clicksteps
You can lock, factory reset or even locate(if location services are enabled)your phone using your Google account(the Google account you were using on your phone).Go to https://www.google.com/dashboard/ -> Sign in to your Google account(the one used on the phone)->go to Android/Manage active devices->from there you can ''Ring'',''Lock'',''Erase'',''Locate'' or ''Rename'' the device.
Unfortunately only the mobile service providers/operators can ''blacklist'' a certain IMEI number.
The IMEI number can also help local authorities(local police department) to track down your phone.
    Hope this helps

  • Lost ipad - no mobile me...

Hindsight is 20/20. My kids left my ipad in an airport. I'd like to either wipe it, or locate it, but I don't think I turned on "Find My IPad". And I can't get a mobile me account right now (They are not accepting new accounts til Fall). Any advice?

  • Lost phone-is mobile me

I have or had the 3gs and it was stolen out of my purse. I was running low on batteries so the mobile me "find my phone" is not working. (error message received " Your iPhone is not connected to a data network or does not have Push enabled.")
I still have my old iphone (first generation, how can i go backwards?) and have the option of reactivating my old phone and deactivating my 3GS
my question is: if i reactivate my old phone and deactivate my new 3GS, will i lose the ability to ever locate my 3gs? AT&T representatives seem to think so but it doesn't make sense to me why the mobile me feature would be tied to my cell phone# and not the physical phone.
    any help is appreciated.

You need to report your 3GS as lost or stolen with AT&T, but it sounds like you have done so.
In order for the MobileMe "find my iPhone" feature to work, Find My iPhone must be enabled with your MM account on your iPhone, and Push access must be enabled on the iPhone. If your iPhone is powered off, there is no way for the find my iPhone feature to work via cell tower or GPS.
In order to re-activate your first generation iPhone, you will need to get a new SIM card from an AT&T corporate store. The AT&T store should be able to re-activate your first generation iPhone and if not, when you connect the iPhone to iTunes with the new SIM card installed, you will be provided the AT&T activation.

Your cellular service has been terminated by your wireless service provider. *If you contacted your service provider to report your device lost/stolen before locating/wiping your phone, and they deactivated the SIM, you will no longer be able to locate, display a message on, or remotely wipe your iPhone.*

  • Import Adress Book mobiles into Bento - Problem

Hi I was trying to organize myself by importing some stuff to Bento. The problem I had was that some contacts have several phone numers (work home mobile) and Bento imported work and home. So i tried to create Mobile Phone as a field but the only thing Bento does is to create an empty column, it does not import anything from the mobiles that I have in my adress Book.
Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my english

    David,
This was posted in MacFixIt and it works perfectly:
    Entourage addresses into Address Book:
    1. Create a new desktop folder. Name it anything you want, but v-card would be appropriate, because that's what you will be creating.
    2. Open Entourage's Addresses and select the ones that you want to bring over.
    3. Drag these addresses into the v-card folder.
    4. Drag the v-card folder into the Name field of Apple's Address Book. You can safely trash the folder after you are finished.
    Apple addresses to Entourage:
    1. In Apple's Address Book, select the addresses that you want to export to Entourage.
    2. Open Entourage Address Book and drag those addresses into Entourage Address Book. If you are exporting multiple addresses, hold Option while you do this, otherwise only the topmost address will be exported and you'll have to do it one-by-one.
These methods are not perfect. You may find some minor errors, such as a Home email coming across as Work, but otherwise you'll get everything.

  • Lost your costly Mobile, No Prob at all!!

Guys, recently i have downloaded a superb software (at least for me) for my cell (Symbian OS 3rd Edition), named as Advanced Device Locks Pro 2.00(37) which can not only locks your secret data but it has more funtions which almost all mobile users need, TO GET BACK YOUR LOST MOBILE.
Its main function is to lock your application (no need of your origical lock code or security code), personalize locking system,Secure storage of files,Remote lock, alarm and data wipe and the most important is that....It can be helpful to get your lost expensive mobile back to your hand. I personally checked and was very curious to share with all of you guys.
If your cell is lost unfortunately and if u have this software, it just secretly sends u sms when unknown or unathorized sim card is inserted( u need to personalize one extra cell number where this software can send u sms can be of ur frens, or family members) along with the Unique Sim card Number ( we can find that in the back of our sim card) of the unauthorised person who is using the cell so that you can trace him out and get back your cell in all way.
I personally tried this and i am so excited to share that it works cent percent. The sms i got is as folllows..
ADL warningIM card changed. New IMSI (Unique sim card number):429020*******. To identify owner of this new card, call the police or your mobile operator.
But the negative aspect is that, it has only 7day trial. Thank you......desperately waiting for comments...

Technically, yes, it probably can be tracked. However, as a general rule, mobile networks only do this at the request of law enforcement in cases where, for example, the user of the phone is implicated in serious crime. There's no way someone is going to agree to track your phone because it's simply gone missing.
I'm afraid you're going to have to live with the fact that your phone is just gone. Be more careful next time.

  • I lost my ipod, mobile me not working.

so i used mobile me but it says no loacation avaliable. But this is the second time i used it and it worked just fine the first time. But the first time it gave the location that was near nearby my ipod which turned out to be in my house. But mobile me said that it was in the cemetary which was behind my house. Anyways now i am using mobile me and it says "no availbe location" and this is the same day it was lost? whats going on? is there anything that i can do???

It could be that the iPod is now within wifi range of an unsecured network or one you automatically connect to.  Or, someone stole it and restored the iPod to factory defaults. Or if you didn't have a passcode set they turned off wifi or deleted FindMyiPhone.

  • Z10 lost connection to mobile network

My Z10 worked fine for the past 2 years.  Yesterday it received messages until 8:08 am, then lost connection to the network.  It is a Verizon phone with Verizon SIM and Verizon support told me to go to a store to get a new SIM.  That did not resolve the problem.  The icon in the upper right now says "SIM activation in progress"...as it has for the past 12 hours.  Clearly nothing is happening.  When I check Settings, About, SIM, the Z10 reads the SIM but the SIM is not registering with the network.
One guy at the Verizon store had never used a Blackberry and was on Google looking for answers.  He suggested it was becuse I went through airport security.  Another said the phone had failed and he wanted to sell me an iPhone.  I don't want an iPhone and I don't want to lose my unlimited data plan at Verizon (which terminates if I upgrade through Verizon).
I am not convinced it is a hardware problem but I don't have any way to test it and the Verizon guys are just guessing...and trying to sell me an iPhone.
I have not upgraded any SW or changed any settings recently. The phone has not been dropped or anywhere near water...it looks brand new.  It just stopped working mid-morning.
How do I get my Z10 working again?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Given what you describe, you must also have rebooted the device...since the inserted battery blocks the ability to remove/insert the SIM card. So, that basic guidance has already been carried out.
Have you checked the Mobile Network Settings, just in case something was changed accidentally somehow?
Otherwise, what you need to do is escalate beyond those at VZW you are presently talking to...clearly they are not the experts you require. You likely will need to call them (from a landline, so you can do things they recommend) and escalate beyond their Level 1 support folks and get to someone who actually knows the platform and can also check deeper into the VZW network itself.
Good luck and let us know!

  • E61 - lost service (T-Mobile)

Earlier this evening I was surfing the net and phone worked well. 5 mins later - nothing - I couldn't make calls or surf the net. T-Mobile customer services are now closed. Is there anything that I could have done while I was surfing the net that would have resulted in me now having no signal?
My husband also has an E61 with T-Mobile and his is working fine, so I presume there are no signal problems with T-Mobile.

It's either T-Mobile or the phone itself that caused the problem. If you dare you can try updating the SW using the SW Update sevice. Note that you might lose all your personal data!!! -> Backup your personal information first! Or just contact the T-Mobile customer service for more help. -S-

  • How to track lost mobile

    Hi all,
I lost my Nokia 1600 mobile havving very vital information in it. Anyone please let me know how to track the mobile i have serial number of the mobile.
    vicky

It's not possible to track or trace lost or stolen mobiles.
The only people who can track them are the police with the help of your service provider. This costs time and money so they will only do this when someones life is at risk.
Sadly there is nothing you can do apart from reporting the loss to your service provider and the police (if you need to for insurance purposes).

  • The mobile phone is lost

Hello, my mobile phone is lost tonight.
    Mobile phone number information on binding of bank;
important is also a lot of client application, as long as the network can operate.
    What should I do?

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords, especially your Apple ID/iCloud password NOW!
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, and running iOS 7.0, then phone cannot be activated or the passcode removed without knowing your Apple iD/Password. It will be nothing but a useless paperweight.
If not running iOS 7.0, the phone can be forced into recovery mode & restored.

  • Network lost

I have often lost connection with mobile operator.
On my phone shows that the network is OK, but no one can call me. If I am requesting the balance of it all hangs on the receipt.
I changed the sim card. I did restoring through iTunes, but the problem remained. Iturned off the 3g, but the problem remained. This is just terrible.
I know what the problem is not only for me. My colleagues have the same problem. I buy telephone in Finland. My mobile operator do not know how to help me.
Sorry for my english - google translate.
    Russia, Saint-Petersburg Mobile operator Megafon

Half hour later and the icon for my PC is in the Network area again. I guess it just takes the iMac some time to 'discover' the other computers???

  • No connection with mobile network

My phone (which was bought only 2 days ago) has suddenly lost connection with mobile network. "Emergency calls only" is written on lock screen, near signal power bar there is a small red 'x'. I tried turning it off and on, tacking sim card out and putting it back in, trying to connect to mobile network manually through the settings "Service providers" (it says "Could not connect to network now. Please try again later." when I try to connect manually), changing network mode (to all possible modes). Still no luck. I can't send an sms or make a call.
    What should I do?

I got similar issue but the only thing is phones randomly disconnects itself from the mobile network in some days. Then no matter you manually search for the network and try registering, it simply wont connect to any network.Your only solution is to reset the phone or turn off and on and it again auto catches your operator.
