Lost all app data and former backups after iTunes 11 update

I just updated to iTunes 11. I'm using Windows 8 Pro x64 and an Apple iPhone 5 32GB. Before the update I made a backup of my iPhone.
So far, so good.
Problems that occured after the update:
1. One Music CD in my library was split into two albums with titles 1-4 and 5-13. I fixed that manually.
2. Available space on my iPhone decreased after the update. I've got an iPhone 5 with 32GB capacity. Before the update and sync with iTunes 11 I had like almost 5GB of empty space. Now it's only 1.31GB. There are not more apps, music, pictures etc. on my iPhone than before the update.
3. All data of apps like balance (budget tool), Momento (diary) is gone! Apps like Dropbox lost their settings.
Hence, I decided to restore the data from the backup I made just before updating to iTunes 11. THIS BACKUP IS GONE!! I'm no IT newbie and I'm an iPhone user since the iPhone 3.
I just wish I would have not updated to iTunes 11. Apple Switzerland's Support was not able to help. They said if the backup is gone, data is lost ;(

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
If you have synced your device on two separate days then the current state of your device backup will no longer have the stored data for the apps that were removed. If however you have not resynced since noticing the problem then, once the library is restored, it may be possible to restore the device to bring back the missing app data.

Only possible if you have made an iTune or iCloud backup before the update.

You lost them from the iPad, or from the Mac(Book) Pro?
If you lost them from the iPad, yes, you can restore your last backup from iCloud. Settings - iCloud - Backup - Restore.
Note that you can always re-download apps from the App Store, and music from the iTunes Store, for free, if they are accidentally deleted.

iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press theReturn key.
If y have an iCloud backup restore from that backup:
iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup> and look at the date of the backup that iCloud has (Last Backup: XXXXXXX)

After a forced restart, itunes lost all apps, music, and podcasts.

After I force started my pc while itunes was open, the next time I opened itunes it had started anew. All my music, apps, podcasts, and shows were gone. Is there any way to get my media back without importing and downloading everything I had?

Restored Iphone 4 and updated to IOS7 and lost all my data and backups

Help! ): I have an Iphone 4. I could not update it becuase it had no space to update ("Other" catagory in my storage took up about 3GB) so to clean my Iphone and update it, I backed up, and did a restore. So now my phone has no data on it, so I tried to restore it from the backup i did earlier. but apperantly, since the backup was of an older IOS, it wont read it, and said it is "corrupt or not compatible". the icloud backup was no use either.
I used a program that can restore all the data that was ever on the iphone, but it cannot actualy place them in the phone, so i have some data files i dont know what to do with if that maybe helps and leads to a solution
So now all of my precious data is gone, including really important notes i really need. and i dont know what to do. please help

also, will maybe reverting my phone to the older IOS version maybe solve this? is it even posible?

If you kept an iCloud back up...
Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates available.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

If you followed the instructions in the link that Diavonex referred you to, that should have transferred all of the iPad content into your iTunes library. I have no idea what to mean by the iPad sees another PC. Where? How do you know that? How are your determining that the iPad sees another PC? iTunes does the "seeing" - not the iPad.
Then you say "if I share" - do you mean if you use Home Sharing? The iPad and computer do not have to be connected in order for Home Sharing to work. The devices must be on the same WiFi network. You cannot transfer music from the computer to the iPad using Home Sharing.

Lost all my photos and txt messages during last update- HELP PLEASE

During the last IPhone update my phone went into restore mode and when it recovered all my photos, videos, and txt messages were gone. I went to restore through old ITunes restore points, but they were gone too- all I have is one from 2011 and the one with nothing on it, and I have synced my phone hundreds of times since 2011. Is there anything I can do? I have a Mac, could I use Time Machine to go back to an old date, and possibly the ITunes restore points will be there? Any help will be much appreciated!!!

Did you fail to backup the device prior to attempting the update? If so, any content between the last backup and when the update apparently failed will be gone.
If the device has been used as designed, contact would be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. Simply sync them back.
Pictures and videos taken with the device are designed to be copied to a computer regularly. Only a fool would expect a device so easily lost/stolen or damaged to be sole storage of their "important" pictures.

I use my iPad instead of paper to perform tests on the associates I work with that are required using the Adobe app. I came in this morning and my iPad was automatically updating and now that the update is complete, I have lost all of the checks that were done. You will need to download the apps from the App Store. As long as you're using the same Apple ID, you won't be charged again.

TS1702 I have just updated my OS and now i have lost all my data and some apps will not reinstall from my computer. Having to install from the cloud is slow as the band width is small here.. any advise

I have just updated my IPADs OS to 6.1.2 this caused it to crash and i had to do a restore on the IPAD. Now some of the apps that i have will not reinstall directly from my computer. living in a country with a slow internet, uploading from the cloud is painfully slow. Are you syncing contacts over the air with an Apple iCloud account or with another email account that supports doing the same?
