Lost all apps and songs...

On the same day, my computers hard drive crashed and my iphone4 stopped working. I did a backup and restore of my iphone on a different computer. When the restore took place, I lost all of my music and applications. I logged into my itunes account and there is no music listed. Does itunes only work with what is saved on a certain computer, not what is in a persons account? Also, I do have all of the songs, etc on my Ipad...I am afraid to plug it in in case I lose it from there too. What should I do?

Well that is the way it works. Your purchases are only where you put them.
Syncing to a blank library is designed to wipe the device of all it's contents.
If you have a backup of your old computer, use that backup to restore your content and then sync your device.
Otherwise, you may be able to download past purchases from iTunes.

in order to restore your songs and apps, you should just reconnect to itunes and sync your data. your phone ran a backup before it upgraded, and you can also do a restore. but the key is still to go to your itunes and sync back to your phone what you wanted there in the first place.

I have lost all apps and need to get them back

my hard drive on my computer crashed. i have had it repaired now but lost all data on it. i have all my apps on my phone. i have tried to tranfer purcases. in the info bar at the top my apps are being transfered. when it finishes tranfering there aro no apps on my pc. i have tried backing up my iphone and it says error. i am using windows 7 with a iphone 4 on ios 4.3.3. also using itunes 10.4. my phone is now starting to go funny when i recieve a missed call it does not show up and my emails do not come through correctly. please help.

To expand upon what gdgmacguy wrote, if you imported the photos thru iTunes to your iPhone, the photos are still on your computer.
If you took photos with your iPhone, they are in the backup. Did you restore from this backup?

If you didn't encrypt your backup and it still requires a password it sounds like your backup is corrupted.
Aren't your apps and music still in itunes? I don't understand why you can't just resync.

When I scrolled to see my credit i didnt think it was right .So after adding up all the things I know I purchased the amount left over wasn't the same as the credit it was showing. Please help!!! I just traded my old iPhone 4s for an iPhone 5. I had (or at least I thought I had) backed up all my data onto my compter, so I would be able to open all of my old apps on my new iPhone. However, when i restored my backup, I didn't get any of my old apps or music. I had even put some of the apps on my iCloud, but either it itsn't working or I just don't know how to get my old apps from my iCloud to my new phone. I put some of the apps on iCloud, so I should be able to get them back, right? This isn't even a problem with having to pay for them again, it's losing the data I have an issue with. Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Sounds like you need to sync with iTunes. Make sure that music syncing and application syncing are set correctly in iTunes. Plug your iPod in, when it is recognized, click on your iPod and view the Summary tab. Set your syncing options. If you have it set to manually synch, you are going to have to initiate that off the Summary page.

Lost all my downloaded apps and songs due to forgetting apple password during ITunes Sync

Hi,
I recently had a crash with my Macbook Pro. Hence I had to go back to my 1 year back TimeMachine backup. Which means my ITunes had to go back 1 year in time loosing all my downloaded songs and apps. Adding to this I connected my IPod Touch to my Macbook Pro. When the sync happened I was asked for the apple ID and password to sync my apps and songs to the ITunes in my Macbook Pro (I got a popup saying I had to authorise this computer else the data in IPod Touch would be deleted). I had to click on Forgot Password as I had forgotten my apple ID. Now happened the worst ever thing of all these. Most of the downloaded apps and songs and app data stored are removed from my iPod Touch too. Now even after authorising the computer I do not see the apps and songs which I had downloaded and moved to my IPod touch. I wish I had not synced my IPod touch after the restore from TimeMachine backup.
Now is there any way to restore my IPod touch to the same place before it synced up with ITunes of my Mac? Can i somehow get all the apps and songs and video files which had been present in my IPod Touch just before when I synced it with my Macbook?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've not yet tried these.
I'm still depressed due to the loss of all that I stored in my IPod Touch. At least apple should have programmed it so that the apps and data get deleted only after getting a confirmation from me (only when I click yes). The current software programmed seem to be stupid because I just I clicked on Forgot password and that's not a crime so that it removes all the data.

If you are in the USA (is that Pearland, Texas), with iTunes 10.3 and iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download your previous purchases directly to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer.

Your signature lists both, Mac and iOS device - are you asking about GarageBand on your Mac or your iPhone/iPad?
If you are asking about the upgrade from GarageBand '11 to GarageBand 10.0 on your Mac, the old GarageBand version should still be installed. The installer will have moved GarageBand '11 to a separate folder "GarageBand 6.0.5" in your Applications folder. Open this folder and click "GarageBand". Does this version still see your old projects? If not, type ".band" into the Spotlight searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen. Does that sfind your missing projects?
If you are asking about GarageBand on iPad/iPhone, there it is not possible to restore the previous version after you upgraded. And I do not see, how this upgrade could have deleted your projects. Have they completely vanished, or can you not open them any longer? If your projects have vanished, restore your device from your backup: See: iCloud: Backup and restore overview

All of your music should be in itunes on your computer.
Select it to sync and sync.

I did a reset of my phone yesterday and now when I go to purchaed to download my paurchsed tabs there is nothing there.
I see them in my ipad but they are not in my itunes app section either.
I searched for one in the app store and it usually said "open" or had the cloud icon with the little arrow to downlaod again (free). But none of that shows up at all this time. All the apps that I'm missing show up in the pp store for me to buy again like I never purchased them at all!
What's going on?
I'm missing a ton of apps!

I just wanted to add this information to my post:
I have purchaed, free and paid, 618 apps.
In my phone apps to add to my phone when I plug it in my computer only 266 apps show up.
In my itunes "puerchased list" only 266 show up.
Thank God I have not updated my ipad. There I went to my "purchased" under the ALL list in the app store and there I do see my 618 apps!
Where did my other 352 apps go? Which many were paid.
I want my apps back.

You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server,that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.

If you don't have a backup then iTunes purchases can be redownloaed from the iTunes Store:
Ope the iTunes Store and click Purchased in the Quick Links section on the right.
