Lost all data on MacBook Pro anyway at all to get it back?

2 days ago I spilled lemonade on my Mac accidentally so placed it on its side and let it dry. Every time I moved it liquid came out so I took it to the apple store for them to look at it. After looking at it they told me, everything on the inside is fried, even the hardrive. I'm getting it repaired but It won't have any of my data on it, is there anyway that my data could have been saved wirelessly?

Only if you have a cloud backup service such as Carbonite.  Usually a HDD will survive a liquid spill but you were very unlucky.
Naturally a backup strategy is a must in order to mitigate such disasters.
An external HDD using Time machine in combination with a boot drive is a good approach to backing up ones data.  here a couple of articles that should provide you with the appropriate information;

  • Macbook Pro not working right after getting it back from Apple Store

I had to bring my last generation Macbook Pro into the Apple store to have a faulty optic drive and logic board replaced. I just got home and the date in the preferences was set to 2001 and it will not connect to my network, even though I am typing this on another Mac using the same connection. It does see it, it just shows a message with an exclamation mark in the Airport area saying no internet connection.
Any ideas of what I may need to do? Are both of these a sign that they may have messed something up? I did reboot it after getting it back.
    Thanks.

Just bring it back. Have them check it out and demonstrate that it's working properly.

  • I deleted my Music off of my Macbook Pro but I want to get it back.

I had a ton of music on my computer that I use for school, however the memory seemed to be getting full and so I began deleting music.  Unfortunately the music I want deleted itself from my phone and I cannot figure out how to get it back.  After I deleted it off of my Macbook Pro, A box popped up that stated something to do with iCloud.  I cannot exactly remember what it said but I checked iCloud and I still cannot find the music and I spend hundreds of dollars on music that won't even let me re-download it from iTunes!!
    HELP!!

It is a question for Parallels, and seeing how you plan to just add or replace one VM image wiith another just delete the VM you have. Not about Boot Camp.

  • How do I get notes back on my macbook pro?, How do I get notes back on my macbook pro?

I used to have notes with ical and contacts, but somehow it's gone.  I can see that I have notes in mail, but this doesn't sync with the notes that I have on my iphone.  How can I sync my notes on my iphone on to my mac?  Help please

I found the current easy solution.  (But it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere.)
On your mac, look in your applications folder and find your application called, "Notes."
    Open it.
(Amazing, huh?  This may be working for me because I had previously created an iCloud account, or it may just work automatically.  I don't know about that.  I do know that I've got my iPhone with IOS 7 connected to my computer right now, and that I haven't synced in iTunes yet, but it is showing a note that I created this morning.)

They're not lost, they simply don't show because you settings ask it not to.
Go to Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendar --> Calendar --> Sync --> All events

If you never saved, auto save does not kick in.

    Thanks

In the future always backup your data before updating.

If you migrated all the info from time machine to your new MBP. The TM will usually ask to connect to the old backups.. sorry I am not sure is this what you want to do.. Personally I think you start a fresh backup.
BTW Time Capsule does not do anything.. it is a dumb hard disk in a box.. it is TM that does everything.
Look at B5 and B6 here about connecting to your backup.

    Thanks for fast response.
I already tried C12, no luck. I did read C17, but that did not help either.
I agree that Apple should really spend a bit more time on ensuring this common problem is resolved more quickly
But where to do you sent this request to?  Doesn't seem easy to find a person to send it to.
I dumped by corporate wIn-pc environment that I was forced to use for the past ...forever.  Have been delighted with the Mac experience..... for 24 months..but these type of un-resolved matters with terse error messages reminds me of the bad old days.
I had the problem 2 weeks ago and solved it by "clicking about" after reading the forum  Can't remember what i did though. V. V. V. frustrating when the Mac is a business tool.  I don't want to be a mechanic, I want to be a driver.
    Thanks again for your help

  • I have lost facetime on my macbook pro.  Calls ring but message says fail

I have lost facetime on my macbook pro.  I place the call, it rings then says 'failed'.  Has been working very well until now.  Any ideas anyone?  Thanks.

    Hello lindseynicola,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you're having issues with making calls using FaceTime on your Mac.  I'd like you to take a look at the following troubleshooting information, in order to get this issue resolved:
    Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac
You can make FaceTime calls using the FaceTime app. You can call FaceTime users whose contact information is in Contacts. You can add contacts and edit contact information in either FaceTime or Contacts. To place a video call, you may use a phone number or email address.
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
    Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct.
Verify that both parties are connected to an active broadband Internet connection.
See Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a cable modem, DSL, or LAN Internet connection.
Consult Using FaceTime behind a firewall for necessary ports to open in firewalls, security software and routers.
If you encounter issues using a Wi-Fi network, use standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting to resolve interference and other issues.
Verify the phone number or email address being used is the correct one activated for FaceTime. You can verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Verify that both parties have installed the latest software updates for their Mac and/or device. See:
Mac OS X: Updating your software
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

how to transfer data from macbook pro to an external hard drive, im using (WD 1TB 3.0) ???. I cannot copy anything from my mac to it not a single file.

ok - since you'll be sharing it with a PC - connect it to your windows pc - then format from there - instead of NTFS format - choose exFAT.
or, you can read the link below on how to do it in dos mode.
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/how-can-i-forma t-external-drive-in-exfat-not-in/0f6bf19a-19d6-4470-ae05-53ddf26bb476?msgId=1860 eae3-3488-4eea-8326-f87b89d9851b
once you've formatted it - you can now use it in both your macbook and windows computer.

What cables are necessary for the fastest transfer of data from MacBook Pro to MacBook Air

As I posted "it is an Unknown", at least to me, what type FW port is on the OPs older Mac.

But the newest Mac notebooks do not have a firewire port.
So he may need a TB to FW adapter, $29, a FW 400 or 800 cable, $??, and then a FW 400 to 800 cable/port adapter (If the old Mac only has a FW 400 port), $??.
It is unknown if the old Mac has a FW 400 or 800 port.
