Lost all info on itunes

I went on to itunes to add more msuic when i ahd no songs in my library or podcasts or anything, no videos no nothing, not evan my playlists
please help me, what can i do?

Are all your songs still in the usual folder(s) on your computer? Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

A backup doesn't contain any of your iTunes downloads or the contents of the Music, Videos or iBooks apps. If they are ibooks and they are still in the store then you should be able to redownload them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app. If they are PDFs and/or epubs from other sources then do you have copies of them anywhere e.g. are they in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library or elsewhere on your computer ?

Latest version is 6.1 now. Try a direct download of the IOS file and load that via iTunes. Mentioned on some of the other threads here.

Unfortunely, all movies and songs purchased in iTunes will be lost...you'll have to purchase them again! Any applications you've purchased, you can download again for free.

Recently, I had to re-format my main computer, I lost all of my iTunes music, most of it is on my iPad. How do I transfer this music from my iPad to my current iTunes. I really don't want to have to copy a couple of 1000 CDs again.

Once you have the tracks recovered, you might also consider iTunes March. There is a cost involved ($24.99/yr), and it isn't without it's ... shall we quirks? ... but it is a very convenient way to manage music tracks on iOS devices.

It should ne in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then - in the U.S only - you can get previous itunes purchases from the beta version of icloud. Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

i lost all of my itunes library last night.
first thing i did was try to delete all the data on my girlfriends ipod and sync her ipod touch to my library. i tried that and assumed it worked, then i upgraded to the new itunes when it was all dont i checked my itunes and found that all of my itunes data was gone hundreds of songs and movies and apps that i have bought. all of it gone and i cant get it to search my pc for the data like it would normaly. Help me please im freaking out over loosing all of this.

I have the same issue but mine is different I lost all my data but that was after re-installing my operating system

If you didn't make a back-up of your music/movie purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Products may only be downloaded once; after being downloaded, they cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Once a Product is purchased or rented (as applicable) and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage" iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once

My daughter updated to the new 5.1 software on her ipod touch and she lost all her info? can anyone help?

At the start of the update process iTunes asked her if she wanted to make a backup. Then at the end of the update it asked her if she wanted to restore from the backup. Unless she responded Yes to both, the data was not transferred.
If she did make a backup, but did not restore from it, you can still retrieve it by right-clicking on the iPod name in the Devices list and selecting to restore from the backup.
Purchases from iTunes Store should be on the computer normally used to sync the iPod to (or can be re-downloaded for free). Photos, addresses, etc., should also exist on the computer, if regularly synced. If so, you can sync them again to the iPod.

what do you mean by "synced" ? itunes? or signed into his icloud?
if you mean itunes , you can go to edit preferences devices and see if you have any backups there if you do resorre the back up
if you mean icloud jsut sing back into your icloud account and your info should come back (contacts ect.)

Log into iTunes Store, select Purchased from the Quick Links section in the right-hand sidebar, download.

Now updated my iphone4 to latest ios5, got my apps back but lost all of my itunes music!

The iPhone BY DESIGN will only synch to ONE iTunes library at a time. If you attempt to synch to a new computer, it will wipe all the iTunes data off your phone and replace it with what is currently on the new computer. There is no way around this.
If you don't want to lose music, videos, etc., then you need to copy your old iTunes library to your NEW computer before synching the iPhone to the new computer.

Palm Calendar Desktop lost all info

I am trying to locate the backup file on my computers harddrive. The Palm calendar has lost all of my information.
I am running Windows XP. There is no phone syncronization to use.
Please tell me where to find the backup.

If it is on your computer it is in the cdrive. Start/My Computer/Local Disc (C/Program Files/Palm/ and open the folder with your hotsync name and it should be in there. I hope you can find it in there. Your device has the proper operating system on it for a free app called NVBackup. If you were using this with automatic backups on it you would have this info and more on the memory card that is in your devise. EXT HD shutting down after upgrade. Lost all info on a WD and G drive is starting to shut down. How do I fix? Fear my back up are going to fail.

After upgrading I have lost one WD drive completely. My WD drive with time machine has started to shut off suddenly. I have removed it and going to see if it is fried. My G drive just shut down with the same error. This has all my light room photos & have backed up all info on this drive to a new G RAID. as well as a 1T ext WD. I fear I will lose my backup of my backups. How do I fix this before I loose everything?

Not a solution, but something to try.
In the Energy Saver preference window, do you have the "Put the hard disk....possible." checked or unchecked?
Try it the opposite of what you have selected now.
Also, do you have the same problem if the energy saver is moved to Never?
