Lost all masters, need way to merge previews to master as replacement

Hi all,
Recently I accidently deleted the folder that contained most of my library (I didn't think they were refenced, I assumed they were all in my library file, but unfortunately this was not true) and this is causing me a major problem.
My first step was to run Stellar Phoenix Disk Recovery, which was doing well until it broke my second external drive that they were being copied onto. I then scanned it again and put them onto a ExFat volume. However there are now issues with this volume, and the folders are not showing up in finder or Aperture. I can see the files in terminal and at present am trying to copy them over via rsync.
Therefore I need advice regarding the following:
Being able to see the files and folders containing my found images on my ExFat volume. If this works it will be very much benefical and may save the need to do the latter.
As a last resort, I may need to merge the previews into the masters, as otherwise I will no longer have any copy of the images files.
I've pretty much lost all of my images from my life, so would really appreciate some help here.

Does it need to be an EXFat volume? Having the referenced files on a disk with a different formatting than your Aperture libray is asking for trouble because the filenames may be incompatible. If you can, move your originals to a drive that is formatted MacOS X Extended (Journaled).
But Aperture should be able to see the drive and the volumes, even if it is ExFAT. I just checked, my Aperture 3.5 can see folders on ExFAT volumes, at least, after I enabled the "Shared Folder" flag. Check the permissions on your drive, Phil. What does it say?

Please, I am partially handicapped, and with the new version 4.0, I have lost ALL my Most Visited links and history, plus my Norton Safe master log on manager is also gone. (Typing in difficult for me)
Regretting this upgrade BIG time, I want to revert back to the last version but cannot find any instructions anywhere.
One blog entry I read said that the revert process (not explained how) made that person lose ALL their bookmarks.
There was NO warning that this 4.0 version would do any of this, and this is unacceptable, my favorite browser for a long time has me wondering now if I should go to Chrome!

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload, Stop, & Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar. Only one function is ever active at any one time, so combining them save UI space was a good idea. When a page is loading, it is a "Stop" button, when it finished loading, it turns into a "Reload" button, and when you start to type something into the Location bar it turns into a "Go" button.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > '''Customize'''" window or right-click a vacant area on a Toolbar, ''except fot the Bookmarks Toolbar''.
* Then drag'n'drop the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the Location bar.
# Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
# Set the order to "Stop - Reload" to separate them and get two distinct buttons.

If you backed up your iPhone to iCloud before updating the software, first try the steps under "Restore from an iCloud backup" in this article to recover your data:

When I check my old global-messages-db.sqlite file from my windows backup the emails still semm to be in there, can I somehow merger/ extract these mails into my current account?

global-messages-db.sqlite is a search index. It doesn't contain entire messages.
Restore a recent backup of your profile folder instead.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

The desktop (iMac) now has messages from July 2012 onward.
My separate hard disk backup has old messages up to June 2012.
Most of the ones between June and July are on a MacBook Pro which I bought about that time.
Is there a relatively easy and safe way to put these messages back together in Mail account A on my desktop again?

Well, your profile info says 10.4.11, and you are posting your question in the iMac (PPC) category. If you are running Snow Leopard, it must be a fairly recent Intel iMac.

Restore it from your most recent backup or from the computer Calendar app you sync your iPhone with via iTunes.

Changed disks in my RAID, Aperture lost all referenced masters.

I have a G-Speed eS RAID system. I had 4 X 1TB disks.
I decided to change the hard disks to 2TB ones to double my storage capacity.
I retained the same volume name. I backed up the 2.5TB of data to 3 other disks and then copied it back to my upgraded RAID.
So I have a completely identical file structure. My photos were in /Volumes/GS/photo, and this is where they are now. However Aperture lost all connections to the 35000 referenced files.
It seems that there is no way to tell Aperture that old /Volumes/GS and new /Volumes/GS is the same location from my point of view (is your point of view different?). This means I have to reconnect each one of the 100+ projects manually. I DO NOT LIKE THAT. Am I missing something, or is this a nasty oversight? Don't tell me that this is a "feature" and one can only move REFERENCED masters from within Aperture...
Note: Repairing or rebuilding the library does not help.

Your suggestion works, but
1) You have to first select all photos in the "photos" smart album. If you do select them all, "Reconnect All" will not work.
2) Most important, after reconnecting, I also told Aperture to rebuild my library. And it lost them again... The photos got connected to a <null> named drive which is shown as offline.
We are talking about a big deficit of reliability here...
I had a backup of my Aperture Library. So I reconnected the files again, without a Library rebuild this time.
But what if I need to rebuild my library in the future?? I AM SCARED...
No need to mention that I have lost all day moving around many gigabytes of data, reconnecting files, etc etc. This is hardly a productivity boost.
The worst part is that I like a lot the Aperture UI and I hate the alternative.
But Aperture is unfortunately unreliable.
Just play enough time with the loupe on my MacPro and the application will crash.

You should be able to reconnect to iTunes and then you should see an option to restore to your ipad from your last back up in iTunes.

I expected that the mac email software would keep all email as it did for me in when I used to use Outlook. As well I thought I was covered with the Time Machine I have installed. Well.....The Time Machine that I was aggressively encouraged to buy apparently doesn't back up email. If it does, I must need some secret decoder ring to unlock where it is. I need serious help. I lost months of professional and personal data. I need to fix this immediately and find some way to get my email back. Please help.

In March when I upgraded to Lion and iCloud I also experienced a similar problem (cluster of problems) which was solved by a password reset (conforming to new requirements) for my Apple ID. I'm glad to see that many nice people contributed and your primary problem is fixed. My comment is on your Quicken problem.
Your data inside Quicken 2004 is on borrowed time. In the process of researching personal budgeting apps I found many reports on the web that indicate Intuit as a company is scaling down Quicken (desktop) development and its future attention to the Mac platform will be minimal.
Did you know that Intuit is behind Mint.com? You may be hesitant to put your financial data "in the cloud" and I may be being sheepish, but.. bbaaaa, bbaaaaa, the cloud is where it's going. I know first-hand want a pain in the arse it is to customize an app to your liking. I spent several hours on Mint.com setting up categories and tagging transactions. It's tedious. I didn't look because I wasn't a Quicken user, but perhaps Intuit was nice enough to provide a data conversion path for Mint.com. It is worth a look.
My second suggestion is to scour the web for a hack solution. You can't be the only person who is facing this problem. Quicken was very popular. I just bet someone has posted directions or some code for exporting the Quicken 2004 data and manipulating it for something else.

Need a way to merge two mail accounts

I have a small problem that I hope someone can help me fix. I have cross posted this in the OD services forum as that is the service that I have the 'user' problem with.
Some time back I made a mistake and deleted a user using WM. This user had mail services. I had a backup of the mail folders using the mailbfr tool set. Lucky for me this backup ran just before i deleted the user.
Now this is what I did next.
I added the user again with WM withing a few mins - however I did not spell the name correctly and so I ended up with a shortname that is not correct. I added a second sort name ([email protected]) and so the mail now works in that the user can log onto imap using the previous 'second' short name and e-mail is correctly processed. As you would expect the users email mailboxs are empty as the are seen as a new users by the mailserver (due to my spelling the name wrong).
So I have two mail boxes for this user - one old with correct spelling, one new with incorrect spelling. From the outside world it all looks OK... but the user cannot access the old e-mails and over time one will get into trouble with this user haveing the wrong name.
I would like to find a way of correcting the users 'primary' shortname and combining the old and new emails together into the correct email account.
Help - how do I do this? It seems I need to fix two things - change the shortname internally in the server somehow and combine the e-mails into one account.
I could very easly delete the wrong account and create a new one with the correct spelling. But I would need to preserver the new emails that have come in since and move them into the old email account (which I assume will work Ok with the new user).
Hope all is clear. look forward to some help.

You can block port 25 at firewall/router as an easy way to prevent bounces from outside world during this process....
Delete the 2nd short name on first account. Create a new account with the correct short name, enable mail.
Use an imap client to connect to both account and copy/drag all mail from the old wrong account to the new account.
That's a nice clean way to merge mail accounts.
Now of course, the user will have a new UID... and that might cause permission headaches......
So it might be better to use an imap account to connect to the old account first, copy all mail into a local mailbox. Delete the old account. Then create a new account and set the same UID and correct short name. You could then connect to it with an imap client and drag mail back to the inbox.
