Lost All My Notes - Backup Did Not Help
I sync my MBP, my iPod touch 3rd gen, and my iPad to Mobile Me (dot Mac). The other day I noticed my iPad was missing all my notes, some of which I've been adding to for over one year.
The notes were gone from every device mentioned. I restored the backup of the iPad from iTunes and it too had no notes. I checked the Trash on the Mac and in the Mail app of OSX. Nothing found.
It is probably too late now -- if you have any suggestions however I am open to hearing them.
Note: I originally was keeping these "notes" in a Draft Mail document, but moved them to Notes so they would be searchable on the iPad.

King Penguin: I believe you are right - I lost the notes somewhere between syncing the three devices and discovered they were missing too late. Probably only one backup too late....
Richard C: As far as the number of backups available, my experience is that only the last one exists. Perhaps if I had manually initiated a backup another might be available. Either way, I did not have a backup with the Notes.
I do like the idea of emailing them to myself every once in awhile.

Your apps will only be where you put them. if you failed to put them on your computer beore updating, then they would certainly be gone.

You cannot use it. You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it. Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

I have upgraded iphone ios 3.1 to ios 5.1 and have lost all my contacts and can not find them on my pc. Can anyone pleeeeese help me?
If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.

I lost all of my contacts and notes when attempting to move over music. When I try to restore the backup the day I want to restore to is not present. I do see a copy on my I cloud but I can't seem to retrieve it. What can I do?

I need to reload some songs as the backup did not include all. Following this article. Problem is that download icon does not appear anywhere. Using iTunes 11.01. Anybody seen this before?

I purchased all out of Denmark. My HD crashed and I reload it all. While doing this I had to install new iTunes, - this is the newest version 10.xx. The old version was probbaly 9.xx (cant remember). So the library files are from an old version, - but it does not look like creating a problem. I am now in Sweden, so iTunes was installed in Sweden, and I try to re-download my missing songs while being here in Sweden. However, - I belive I am connected to iTunes store in Denmark. ... (it takes 2 smileys for this, - if you get as far as to here and still have an overview.) -

Sync with iTunes to recover these things.
Connect the iPad to your compter and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side of iTunes and then click on the Apps tab. Go down through the list and select all of the apps that you want to put on the iPad. Do the same thing with the photos. Make sure that the headings - Sync Music and Sync Photos have been selected and then sync again.
If you have changed the configuration - you will have to click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes. -

How did you get your songs onto your iPod Touch?
If purchase directly from iTunes you can download them again.
If your iPod is synced to iTunes on a Windows PC, then, sync your iPod to that computer.
If this is your first Mac, are you migrating from a Windows PC?
