Lost all my Outlook contacts and phone accounts
I've just about given up on the iPhone. After upgrading my 3GS to iOS 5 a month or so ago and installing iCloud on my PC, things began to go bad:
First I found that I could no longer send e-mail, since all of the out-going server settings (smtp) had disappeared. No attempts to re-enter the information seemed to work, since all would fail to verify. I took the problem to the phone's source, AT&T, and watched a support person try to restore the settings for about an hour. She eventually got one of seven accounts to work, but that fix failed within about an hour of leaving the store. I spoke to Apple support at length, but to no avail, since I was only sent a PDF of various smtp settings of which I was already aware. Still no out-going mail from this phone.
Next I found that my initial success with iCloud, and it's links to my calender and contacts, had mysteriously stopped working. Not only do my contacts and celander not sync, but my entire Outlook contact folder is empty and I can't find that data anywhere on either the phone or the PC. The iCloud configuration utility is still around, but offers no help in finding the data.
If anyone has experienced similar problems, and found some possible solutions, I'd really like to know about it.

I did a similar thing but in the other direction. Found this below (after I had already restored from a .xls I had exported of my contacts)You should do that as well, it's a small file and easily replaced. I am not sure if that works as well with Outlook. Also, I downloaded a free app to sync to the web at my.memova.com
enter one contact in the the Address Book and one calendar event in iCal on your Mac. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.

I have a great suggestion: Read the User Guide to learn how to properly SYNC your contacts to your computer or the cloud to avoid this happening again.

We have to get our computers upgraded to Mountain Lion version 10.8.4. I currently run Snow Leopard version 10.6.6. When they upgrade, they wipe out everything saved on our computers. This is why I want to know how to save my video clips from iMovie.

Why did you restore without transferring your music to your computer?
If you are in the U.S., then you can use the newly released beta version of the cloud to get your music. -
Is Apple even close to a fix for the fix of the IOS 8.0.2. i have lost all my pictures, contacts and more particulary my ability to access wi-fi. I have switched to a Droid and not sure I would ever go back to an iPhone again.
I had the same issue until I updated my apps through iTunes. I had over 100 updates, but none of them showed on my iPod. After they updated everything started syncing like it is supposed. Go to the apps library and check for updates. After everything syncs leave your iPhone/ipod/ipad connected if the spinning arrows at the top is still spinning. It means that things are still being added. If you go to settings > general > about, you will see it loading songs, videos, photos, etc. If you back out of "about" and then go back to it you will see the numbers for each one change.

My friend updated her iphone 4g with the iOS6 and lost all of her photos, contacts, messages, and music. She doesn't believe she had the icloud set up because after they restored her phone they asked for a new apple-id. Any suggestions on how to get all of her stuff back, she has a newborn and all of her pictures of him are gone!
I tried that but I still got the message "Unable to verify account information." I saved it anyway and when I go to the Exchange email account it says "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed." We are running Microsoft Exchange 2010 and I was always able to sync my calendar and email before I upgraded to IOS 6.

I have not updated my iPhone 3G since 2010 as I do not have a computer and have to use my daughters pc. She plugged in my phone to update through iTunes (which took all night) and in the morning it was completed. We backedup to the icloud but now mu pictures and contacts are missing. We cannot locate my contacts on icloud or on the phone.
How do I locate my missing contacts and put them back ON MY PHONE. I had over 150 contacts with information like phone numbers, birthdays, and anniversaries.

I couldn't find more my contacts and notes.
Something occurred on to my Cloud...
It doesn't accept more my old ID and password...
I have create another account, but it is blank obviously...
Now I'm next to desperation...When they were not on iCloud - I found them in my EMAIL folders of all places!!! Check your emails (any emails that you may have used) and see if you can find a folder called NOTES. I couldn't believe my notes were scattered between three different e-mail accounts. If you go to SETTINGS, then Mail, contacts and calenders---check which email addresses are listed, and if any are turned ON, turn them off, then your notes won't be synced to your e-mails and will instead will go to ICloud if you have Icloud set up. Check it out, worked for me. Good luck!

You can also check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

I have an Iphone 3 and use Outlook 2010. I just recently tried to sync with my desktop using Itunes and once they were synced I cleaned up alot of the contacts using outlook but when I tried to sync them not all the information from outlook made it to my iphone. Additionally, there are a lot of contacts in my iphone that are not showing up in outlook. I have tried several things but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
So after looking a bit closer i have noticed that when i have the phone plugged into the computer it shows the songs but when i dont have it plugged in and i go so the song icon on the bottom of the music menu screen it says i have no songs!

I just got a new iPhone and it had not been backed up on my computer until now. Are the contacts saved elsewhere? It seems as though all of the stuff saved on my iPhone has been replaced with all of the stuff saved on my iPad touch, even the tabs I had open in Safari! I can't find the back up of the stuff originally on my iPhone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged. Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.
Have you done so? If you have, all of the data is either in iCloud or iTunes on your computer. Replace the device and restore the new iDevice with the backup of the old one. -

Have you synced your iPhone with iTunes on this computer before? If not, nothing is selected automatically under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Was this the first time your iPhone was connected to iTunes on any computer? If so, the first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes for the first time that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or eyeless device to the iPhone or set up the iPhone as a new iPhone. This is not automatic, it must be manually selected. -
My iPhone 5 has lost all connections to 3G and phone signal
For the past 2 weeks my iPhone 5 says searching in the top left corner of the screen. It will connect to wifi but not 3G or my EE phone network. There are currently no appointments available at the Genius Bar local to me. Has anyone experienced the same issue with their phone?
