Lost all my ring tones....h-e-l-p!!

I was in my local VZN store yesterday as my Droid was having an issue over the past 3-4 days, not being able to open the screen and having to take the battery out approx. 6-8 times before it'd clear itself. The technician said they'd been having some problems similar to this and he had to do something like a reboot but by doing it I lost a lot of stuff...all my apps, all my ring tones. This is about the 3rd or 4th time I've had to "re-buy" my ringtones as they don't get saved. He then told me that when/if I went into the web site I could see all of my purchases, etc. I did that and my ring tones are there but I could not find out how to re-download them onto my phone...He did also tell me that the only ones I would be able to get "for free" (big joke as I had already PAID for them) were the ones that were 3 months old or newer..!! How can that be??? Like I said, this is about the 3rd or 4th time I've had to re-buy all my ring tones....! Can someone please assist me into getting them back? I am also experiencing a "no sound" when I get an e-mail or facebook posting but assume that's because I have no ring tones....Don't suggest that there are many many "free" ringtone apps because I checked a lot of them out as did the tech yesterday and free is not all that great if they don't have the music you are looking for!! He couldn't find 3 of my ringtones tha tI had paid for so free is not so great.
Any help would be appreciated in getting my ringtones downloaded once again...it's been a long long process trying to put this phone back to where it was 24 hours ago....yikes!!!

I can imagine how frustrating this must be. You will have to re-download your previously purchased items. I would recommend you contact our Customer Care Department to see if an adjustment can be made for the downloads. HTH!
Check to see if your email notifications are set. The steps are below. I would recommend you do these steps after you have downloaded your ringtones.
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).
Touch Email.
Touch Menu.
Touch Account settings.
Touch Email notifications.
Email notifications are enabled if a green check mark is present.
Touch Select ringtone.
Touch the desired ringtone then touch OK.
To disable ringtone, ensure Silent is selected.
Touch Vibrate.
Vibrate is enabled if a green check mark is present.

You chose to set up your iphone from your daughters backup.
The iphone is designed to be synced with your computer regularly. You should have set up syncing from day one.
As you have failed to sync your information, it is gone.

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store, so they won't appear in the Purchased link for re-downloading. Are they in the Tones section of your computer's iTunes library - by default your library is stored under:
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
And if you have ringtones in your library then there should be a Tones Directory underneath that.
If they aren't there then do you have them on your backup of your downloads ?
If not, and they are still in the store, then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download of them

No external sound or not sound at all - external or when using the earbuds?
Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off and on, Reset by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so, Restore.
i had it once before, restored the iPhone and it was solved, but i don't want to restore my iPhone every day.
Does this happen every day? If not, when was the last time this happened?
If you have sound when using the earbuds, another thing to try is insert the earbuds and start playing a song - making sure the sound can be heard with the earbuds. Without pausing the song, remove the earbuds.
If no sound is available with the speaker and a the troubleshooting steps do not resolve it or one of the steps does resolve it but the same occurs again, time to give AppleCare a call (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Lost , but found ring tone....

I have two ringtones that were downloaded to my phone, with in a couple of days the tones disappeared. When I go into iTunes they show up under On My Device but won't go to my phone. They have a gray circle next to the name.

GMail works just fine with Mavericks over Safari.
You should always backup your data before installing updates.
If you are uncertain where files are, you can use:
http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
And search for JPG and TIF files using lowercase file naming.
Also double check that Spotlight is not presently indexing in the upper right hand corner icon that looks like:
If it is indexing, it will say that it is, and you should wait until it is done before searching for files either with the Finder, or the open/save dialog boxes.

You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Nothing should only be on your iphone. You should keep everything on your computer.
If you have failed to do this, then they are gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

The ring tone appears in itunes and is showing on my phone when selected in itunes under devices BUT I cant find it anywhere on the iphone 4.

This is the third time I have updated my iTunes on my PC and the third time i've lost my purchased ring tones, when i sync my iphone with the new version of itunes. It only happens to my ring tones, all other content is fine How do I get my ring tones back without having to pay for them yet again?

Due to some glitches with contact syncing with groups and what not, I have now had to reset all my custom ringtones for the 8th time!!!
Unbelievable.

I can't believe more people haven't complained about this and that there is no answer or the famous "workaround". I have had to reset all my ring tone assignments at least a dozen times over the past year. This is a replacement phone, and has happened many times on either. Was using Outlook 2003 pop mail until recently and now Outlook 2003 in exchange. In both cases, the special individual ring assignments hang around for a while but eventually, sure as shootin, they all return to the default and each must be reprogrammed.
Well, guess what? I give the f... up. I have finally been beaten. I am NOT going to reprogram all of them again "hoping for the best" from an Apple product only to be played the fool. I'll just pretend it's yet another feature shortcoming. After spending over a year with the phone, I can safely say, nothing on this phone works properly, nothing.

hy, i just purchased a new i phone and my ring tone will not work and neather will my message reminder. wheh i go into settings i press sounds but abovt the word vibrate is the word silent even though all my ring tone and message tones are set.

Check to see if you have flipped the ring/silent switch on the left side of the phone above the volume up button. (If it is red, your phone is on Silent.) The setting you see determines whether or not your phone will vibrate when this switch is set to Silent. If Vibrate is set to On below this it means that the phone will vibrate when the switch is flipped to the Silent (red) position.
