Lost all scheduled recordings

I've been away a few days and last night whilst back at home I noticed nothing was recording when I knew it should have been. So I checked the recording menu and discovered that there was nothing in my scheduled recording menu, all the linked series, everything is gone.
I'm guessing there is no easy way to get them back? Anyone else had this problem?
Have also noticed I'm missing a lot of epg data, I've checked signal strength and thats fine and have powered of the vision box but makes no difference.

Done that, no change. I have however now rescanned the channels and the EPG has returned, so now to start series linking everything all over again.

  • All scheduled recordings gone

Noticed last night (Sunday 3/18) that a couple of shows on Series recordings that we expected to record had not. Went to View Schedule - blank. All gone. They are still showing in Series Recordings but not in the Schedule. So we have missed several programs and will soon miss more. Troubleshooting so far: - used STB Auto Correction, which reset STB. Looks like one item was re-added to Schedule for tonight (Monday 3/19) but that's all (perhaps reset cleared out guide data?) - went thru each item in Series Recordings, Modify then OK (no actual changes to the Series). No change. - Used Auto-fix, which ran VZ in-home agent from STB - rebooted box - no change Any suggestions appreciated. About to go out of town and don't want to miss more recordings!

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

What haven't you backed them up? You should always have a back up of any important material on your Mac. Make one now:
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
What version of iPhoto do you have?

  • All my recordings gone

Is there a way to get all my recordings back? I had to restart my system, but when it came back, all the recordings were gone.

How did you do a reboot?  There are two kinds: soft reboot and disaster recovery.
With a soft reboot, you won't lose your recordings.  If you did (either intentionally or accidentally) a disaster recovery, your recordings are lost.
It is important to know what steps you took to accomplish a restart of your system.

  • Lost all settings in Tiger

I was trying to send an email and needed to resize a photo that I was adding as an attachment. Then all of a sudden, my settings seemed to change and I was having a hard time sending mail. So I tried restarting which usually resets things. Only now I seem to have lost my iCal, all mail, mail accounts and mail rules. Even my icon tray at the bottom of the screen has different settings and two question marks appear for to software I no longer have on my computer, iPhoto and iMovie.
What happened? Could this be a virus on a Mac? I did backup last month and was able to restore my mail accounts and an older set of mail boxes. But I can't restore the mail rules and my schedule would be out of date. Anyway to find my most recent lost iCal schedule and restore it and add mail rules?
    KiwiMe

Look at /Users and see if there is another user folder there. I have seen it before in Tiger where this occurs, it moves all your data to another user folder. If it is there then you can begin the pain in the butt task of moving all your data back.
Not sure why this occurs. Anyone have advice on that?

  • DVR loses all schedule

I have a multi room DVR with extended storeage.   Today it lost connection with the external hard drive.  Rebooting fixed that.  However it also has  lost all of the scheduling.  No programs are being recoreded.  I can set them all up from scratch but am worried that there is a fundalmental problem and the effort will be wasted.
Anyon else experienced this, know what the cause is?
Anyone know of a way to recover schedule?

  • Help! Lost all mails and appointments from January 2012 to November 11

I am really disappointed first of all for not having found a direct contact to a BB Help Desk. I mena a direct mail address and not simply a Forum. Recently I discovered that I lost all my mails from my different accounts (gmail, yahoo, the professional one). At first I tried to restore them through BlackBerry Protect since the last Back Up was doneon November 11, 2013. But I did not succeed. Then I sent you an email thrpugh the web. But I got no answer. A really bad way of behaving with clients. Now what happened affected a lot my work. I lost everything: the calendar , the mails that I cannot restore. Do you have an idea how to restore the contents? Do you know why it could hpen? Nobody had ever informed me of this risk. I am using a BlackBerry since about 6 years and it is the first time I hear somenthing similar happening in Italy. Thanks for your suggestions..

In short, because such does not exist...refer:

Unfortunately, with that sparse information, it's rather impossible to help you figure out why this did not work.

"You"? Who? You already recognized that this is a user-to-user forum, so who exactly did you send a request to? "the web" is rather impossible to know what you actually did.

Restore, as with all computing devices, depends on a source of restore. From what you've said, it's impossible to tell you why your attempt to restore from BB Protect failed...you provided no details. Further, depending solely on BB Protect is unwise IMHO...refer to the Backup link in my auto-sig for "best practice" backup information.

Given the limited detail you've provided, nope...no clue why it happened.

Every computing device carries risk, some more than others. Any reasonable person using any computing device would very quickly seek out proper recommendations to properly protect the invaluable data that is stored on the commodity device.

Spend a little time reading posts here and you'll find plenty of examples exactly like yours...it is not at all a unique situation. The key is not preventing it from happening, but rather protecting your data so that you do not lose anything when/if it happens.
    Good luck!

  • I lost all my music on My Ipot how do I get it back from my PC

I connect my Ipt classic to my PC and in matter of seconds I lost all my music  now I want it back and the computer is telling me is an errror #1439  What I have to do now

I lost all my music, too - except for 3 pieces!? And I just upgraded, didn't choose sync'ing :-(((
Sure would like to get back my music, videos and playlists!
Most of it was my personal compositions/recordings, not bought at the iTunes store.

  • Ok so we bought an ipodtouch for my daughter and when she connected to the computer all of a sudden she lost all her pics and she can no longer connect to the app store on  her ipod.. any suggestions why and what can be done?

ok so we bought an ipod touch for my daughter and when she connected it to the computer after she downloaded itunes, she was asked if it was her ipod or a new one, so she clicked on her ipod and lost all her recent pics plus is unable to locate the app store on her safari on her ipod touch. any suggestions as to what went wrong or what should be done ? should we restore or what?
much appreciated if there is anyone else who had this happen to them.

    - The iPod got erased since it sounds iTunes identified that the iPod has been synced with another computer and she said yes to making this computer her syncing computer. It could also she restored the iPod from the backup of another iPod, iPhone or iPad that was in iTunes. If in iTunes you go to Preferences>Devices is there a backup listed for her iPod with a date/time when she first connected the iPod to the computer. If so then restore the iPod from that backup.
    iOS: How to back up
Note synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup,
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Regarding the App store. The App store is not in Safari. It is a separate app. Also, could the Apple store be hidden by Restrictions? Settings>General>Restrictions. Further, can you find the App store via the Spotlight search on the iPod?

  • HT201272 I lost all my files after dowloading Icloud and updating Itunes on 24 September 13.  having reloaded the computer and and files from an Emergency Backup folder I can no longer see My Library in Itunes or in Itunes store, and my ipod and ipad aren

can anyone help with retrieving My Library in Itunes and Itunes store - having updated Itunes and Icloud on 24 September 13, my computer failed and I lost all my files which were eventually backed up to an Emergency Backup.  my computer is now working again and I have down loaded Itunes and transferred all the files from my Emergency Backup.  Non of the music went back into Itunes, so I had to find these files and manually moved them to Itunes.  The music is now in Itunes, but I no longer have the folder named My Library, which I think is the reason my Ipad, ipod no longer sync any additional music I have added to Itunes. Does anyone know how to rectify this please.
    Many thanks.  Crusey

iTunes expects files and folders to be in very specific locations.  When you start iTunes it looks for a file called library.itl which is in the iTunes folder.  It then uses all the references in that file which tell it where all your media files are located to build up the view you normally see.  Probably you moved the library file so iTunes cannot find it and it will make a default one which is empty.  When you plug in your iPod it isn't recognizing the library since it is not the same one to which you synced last.
Simply put, you need to undo all your file moves.  Not as eaily done as stated but since I cannot quite see from here exactly what you spent an hour doing last night it will be up to you.  Did you make a backup before doing all this?

The hard disc of my laptop has crashed and i lost all the data. Now I want to take back up of my I phone and transfer contacts , messages and music etc back into my laptop , how can I do that. Also let me know how I can transfer the contacts into Windows contacts from I phone. Pl help

Your content will only be where you put it.  It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer.  You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

  • Moving LR5 catalog (Irdata & Ircat) to a new hard drive and photos. Lost all meta data - How do I move meta data along with catalog?

I moved LR5 catalog (Irdata & Ircat) to a new hard drive and photos. Lost all meta data - How do I move meta data along with catalog?
The meta data for each image is missing.
I have over 2,000 images. I don't want to go back through each image and add meta data.
Is there some way to move everything?

No, do not re-import your images. I assume you can see the thumbnails in the library module, just cannot access the full images, right? If this is the case there should be an exclamation mark in the top right corner of every one of your pictures and you only have to tell LR where the images are now.
Click the exclamation mark of one of the images and a dialog window should pop-up, telling you that LR cannot find the file, but with an option to locate it. Press "Locate" and navigate to the folder on your new HD where the file is. If in the new external HD you kept the same folder structure that you had on the internal disk, LR will be able to find all your images and re-link them to the database without further intervention.
