  • System control panel malfunctioning after upgrade to windows 7 professional

I have an issue I just bought with my recently purchased Toshiba satellite P755-S5390. I had upgraded to windows 7 professional. Now the the system control panel is malfunctioning and I lost one USB bay. This included the switch to turn on and off wifi. After consulting with my some co-workers I have concluded that it is a hardware issue, but I find myself in a bit of a pickle. I didn't’t create a recovery disk for the laptop's original operating system and one was not provided. Is there any way I can get the system control panel function back to its factory settings so I can turn my wifi switch back on. With out having to purchase a restore disk from Toshiba.

The cheaper and easier thing to do is to consider purchasing the Recovery disks from Toshiba because alternatives can be time consuming and expensive in media.
Most of the newer Toshiba laptops do not include Recovery disks. So Toshiba gives you two options to run the Recovery. One is to create the Recovery disks using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator program. You'll find the program under Toshiba or Toshiba Utilities in the Program lists. The other way to run the Recovery is to turn on the computer while holding down the '0' (zero) key. This will activate a program in a hidden partition on the hard drive to send the computer back to it's out-of-the-box configuration. You can try this with your current operating system. It will give you a couple different opportunities to back out of running the Recovery before the process begins. The advantage of going back to the out-of-the-box configuration is that the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator program will be created again and you'll be able to create the Recovery disks as many times as you'd like. The bad news is that running the Recovery software will wipe out EVERYTHING on the computer, including programs, files, pictures and music.
What you can do is back up all of your programs and files and run the Recovery using the hidden hard drive partition. Create the Recovery disks and then restore all of your programs and files again. But this is a lot of work and like I said,it might be cheaper and easier just to buy the disks.

  • Cannot install Boot Camp 3.2 upgrade for Windows 7 64 bit

I recently installed Windows 7 64 bit on my macbook. I also installed Boot Camp 3.0.1 after Windows 7 installation, however, WiFi did not work. Therefore, I needed to upgrade to the latest Boot Camp 3.2. • Drivers for HP Provilant ML110 G5 for Windows XP Professional

    Hi,
How can i get the drivers for HP Provilant ML110 G5 for Windows XP Professional? I only found them for Windows Server 2003.
    Please help me.
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards
    Minh

    Hi:
Your PC is not supported by HP for any operating system other than those listed on your PC' support and driver page:
Install the chipset driver first, then graphics, then network.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3577715&...
I would install as many of the 2003 server drivers as will work for your PC.
For any that won't install, please click on each device in the device manager. Then click on the details tab.
Post the top string of characters you see there.
Those will ID the missing devices and I will try and find XP Pro drivers for them.

iTunes is a 32 bit program.
The 64 bit installer has 64 bit drivers for burning and the iPhone.
If you don't have an iPhone you should be able to install the 32 bit iTunes and then download the 64 bit Gear drivers for burning from the Gear download site:
    http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm
You may need to enable scripts if you are using Firefox with Noscript.
If you have an iphone and want to try to get the 64 bit installer to work here are some links that may help:

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection Design Across Media Upgrade for Windows at a business closing.  What do I need to find out before I can use it?

I couldn't tell you what you purchased, and it might even be difficult for an Adobe employee to do so.  The business could have a few options as far as what they might have purchased.
Your best bet, considering what little you paid, will be to hand it over to someone you might sell it to and let them try it out.  If it works, then it works.

  • Windows Anytime Upgrade - Home Premium to Professional

    Hello,
I need to upgrade a Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. Windows 8 is not an option as some of our software is not supported under windows 8. From what I've read, the online purchase is no longer available. What would be the
best way to upgrade without having to reinstall everything?
    Thanks you,

  • Patch for Macromedia Director 6.0 Upgrade for Windows - DOES ANYBODY STILL HAVE IT?

Hello, I am a collector of 1990's multimedia who likes seeking out older, pre-Adobe versions of Director. I have the upgrade version of Director 6.0 for Windows, and it's unfortunately part of an early batch that comes with a corrupted copy of the Projec32.skl stub projector file, rendering 32-bit projectors made with the upgrade version of Director 6 for Windows unusable (only 16-bit projectors will work).
Macromedia released a patch on their old website to address this issue shortly after the release of Director 6 back in 1997, but I can't find it anywhere on the Internet these days. Does anyone still have this patch, and if so, can you share it with me? (FYI, the filename for the patch is "D6wpatch.exe") Or, alternatively, if any of you still have the full, non-upgrade version of Director 6 for Windows, can you share the Projec32.skl with me? (it can be found in Director's installation directory, normally "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Director 6")
Thanks if you can provide any help,
    Ryan
(EDIT 10/26/2012: addendum about alternative sharing method was added to the above text, since Director 6 and prior versions are getting harder and harder to find on eBay these days)
UPDATE 11/23/2012: I finally found the solution... after calling Adobe tech support to no avail (they searched, but didn't find it - they said that all the old Macromedia files got lost after they purchased Macromedia a few years back), I managed to solve the problem myself! I manually extracted the projector stub code from a working 32-bit Director 6 projector executable in a hex editor, and saved that code as a separate projec32.skl file. I replaced the corrupted projector stub, and I proceeded to make a 32-bit projector with a small test movie I made. And guess what - it worked! Thanks, everyone, for viewing this post. I hope that helps!

After countless hours of reading I finally discovered what the problem was. I did not read thoroughly through the support documentation which allows a person to update their IPOD video very easily simply follow the directions "and I mean the entire directions" within the following link. I would also strongly suggets following the area which state to d/l Quicktime separately from Itunes. This completely rveresed my problems, and now I have a great functioning IPOD once more.

  • Missing drivers for Windows 7 Professional with BootCamp.

I have a brand new MB Pro with 13" Retina, late 2013, 250 GB SS-disk, 8 GB RAM.
I need a partition with Windows 7 Professional, and I have an ISO with Norwegian Windows 7, service pack 1.
I run the BootCamp assistant to partition my HDD and to generate the USB-disk with Windows and the necessary drivers.
When i try to install Windows the Windows installer asks for a driver for the DVD-drive. I get a message that it cannot find a driver file and tells me to provide one. There is no DVD so that is correct. There is no way I can skip this part, and I must stop the intallation. I have not been able to trace down any dummy-drivers.
I have also tried to do this procedure with a USB-Superdrive attatched, but that did not help.

I am sorry, but this does not help me. I have tried. Or should I unpack all files to the top-level? I kept the folder structure.
I have downloaded the contents and it looks just like my Windows installation USB-disk that Boot Camp generates.
My problem is that when I am in the process of installing Windows, the installer stops because it does not find a driver for the CD/DVD-drive. I have chosen Language, and the next thing that happens is an error message. I can not complete the installation.
The error-message is something like this:
"Missing driver for CD/DVD station. ...
If the Windows installation medium is in the CD/DVD-station you may safely remove it before this step."
I have used the same iso-image to install a virtual machine using Virtual Box, so I think the image is OK. I need a dual-boot to avoid timing loss.

    Hi Zargar,
    >>Using server 2008 R2 and the clients are Windows 7 Professional; i am getting empty start menu.
This is normal, for we disabled the option
Move the contents of Start Menu to the new location. This option is enabled by default and it will automatically move the existing content to the new location.
At this moment, we can manually copy the files we want from the local locations.
    Best regards,
