Lost Aperture Key w/Secure Notes bug

Had to rebuild my entire OS and got caught by the following bug and lost ALL my secure note info:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/10325528#10325528
Where can I get my key ?  How do I contact Apple on this ?

There is no need for an install disk. You could just download the trial from the Apple site. When you enter your serial in the trial you'll get a fully functional Aperture. You could try to contact Apple support to retrieve your serial number.

Can someone please help a friend of mine get a permanent registration key (not a trial key that expires in 30 days) to replace his lost registration key for Adobe Photoshop CS2? His previous hard drive crashed and he no longer has his registration key. This is vital for his wedding business.

Thanks to everyone for the tips on my CS2 question. It turns out in the end it was some plug-in filter software that was causing the glitch, not a lack of an Adobe registration key. As for why he still uses CS2, it does the job for him, so that's all he needs.

  • [Security:090809]The key pair could not be retrieved

    Hi All,
I have created the key pair successfully and then exported them to file and then imported to DemoTrust.jks also by those commands:
keytool -genkeypair -alias wlpkey -keypass password -keyalg rsa -keysize 1024 -keystore DemoIdentity.jks -storepass DemoIdentityKeyStorePassPhrase -dname "CN=Oracle Corp, OU=WLP, O=Oracle, L=Boulder, ST=CO, C=US"
keytool -exportcert -alias wlpkey -keypass password -keystore DemoIdentity.jks -storepass DemoIdentityKeyStorePassPhrase -file wckey.der
keytool -importcert -keystore DemoTrust.jks -storepass DemoTrustKeyStorePassPhrase -file wckey.der -alias wlpkey -keypass password
I can see that my alias is present in DemoTrust.jks by this command:
keytool -list -keystore DemoTrust.jks -storepass DemoTrustKeyStorePassPhrase
Now When I want to modify the SAML Security by creating a new Security Credential Mapping in weblogic admin console (Home >Security Realms >myrealm >Credential Mappings>PKI>New), I am getting following exceptions:
+[Security:090809]The key pair could not be retrieved from the keystore with the supplied alias wlpkey and its password.+
An error occurred while creating a security credential. Please check the log for more details.
Can anyone point out anything to overcome this error?
    I am using WLP 10.3.4.
I have tried this by creating the certificates from WLP_HOME/OFM_HOME and WLP_HOME/wlserver_10.3/server/lib also.
    What else can I try?
    Regards
    Jay

The password that you have configured is incorrect and hence the error.
[Security:090809]The key pair could not be retrieved from the keystore with the supplied alias wlpkey and its password.
An error occurred while creating a security credential. Please check the log for more details. You need to give the password of the private key (that you have used while creating the key pair) in the PKI credential mapping configuration. The one highlighted below:
keytool -genkeypair -alias wlpkey -keypass password -keyalg rsa -keysize 1024 -keystore DemoIdentity.jks -storepass DemoIdentityKeyStorePassPhrase -dname "CN=Oracle Corp, OU=WLP, O=Oracle, L=Boulder, ST=CO, C=US"Thanks,

    Hi
    On my macbook pro
I'm try to set up a new Epson printer SX 445 to my router/network but each time I run the set up wizard it fails to complete saying Security Key/Password Check fail.
*entered security key/password does not match the one set for for router.
I know that the password is correct and have rechecked this by changing it a few times
and I still get the same result.
My network internet service provider is not interested and says to call Epson.
Anybody have any clues how I can resolve this?
    Regards

I personally suggest the new Drobo FS. Since it has an iTunes server built in and you can use any size sata hard drive in it it is better and a NAS that has to use the same size drives.

  • Unable to recover lost Secure Notes using Time Machine

I inadvertently reset my default keychain.  Upon discovering my error, I used Time Machine to restore an earlier login.keychain from user/library/keychains.  All passwords, keys and certificates appear to have been successfully restored.  However, all of the secure notes--of which there were dozens--remain missing.
From reading similar threads I thought that restoring the login.keychain file would restore secure notes, but this didn't happen.  Does anyone have a suggestion?
I'm on an intel iMac running Lion, 10.7.2.  Thanks in advance.

    Here's what worked for me:
Restore from Time Machine the folder ~user/library/keychains.  Note that your libary (and all its subfolders) are now invisible by default in Lion. There are a number of ways to reveal it, including those discussed here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/161156/2011/07/view_library_folder_in_lion.html
Look in the restored folder and you'll see a number of files that end with the extention ".keychain", for example....
    login.keychain
...and any other keychains you may have previously created yourself.  Most likely, your secure notes are in the old login.keychain file.  Run the program Keychain Access (which you can find in the folder Applications/Utilities) and add back your old .keychain files by pulling down File-->Add Keychain. Your restored login.keychain should load automatically, but if it doesn't try adding it manually as just described.
    Hope this helps.  Good luck!

  • HT6170 lost password id apple and lost recovery key

I lost password id apple and lost recovery key,how to reset my password

Do you have another trusted device for two-step verification?
See:  Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570
What if I lose my Recovery Key?
If you lose your Recovery Key, you can replace it any time:
    Go to My Apple ID.
Select Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your password and trusted device.
    Select Password and Security.
Under Recovery Key, select Replace Lost Key.
When you create a new key, your old Recovery Key is no longer usable.
    and
What if I forget my Apple ID password?
You can reset it at My Apple ID using your Recovery Key and one of your trusted devices.
Apple Support can't reset your password for you. To reset your password, you must have your Recovery Key and access to at least one of your trusted devices.
if you have neither your AppleID password, nor your Recovery Key, nor a trusted device, not even Apple can help you to get access to your account.

  • ASA Iphone, Ipad VPN client pre-shared key (PSK) special characters bug

I ran into this in a deployment of IPSec clients with apple ipad and iphone native vpn client. Here are details:
    Cisco ASA 8.2.5 OS
    Ipad, running 5.0.1
    Iphone i4S, running OS 5.0.1
Special characters make your pre-shared key more secure, so i used a password generator app to make one that coincidently included a " (quotation mark). After configuring this PSK on a Ipad, i was unable to connect. I saw nothing in the ASA logs, indicating the Ipad didnt even try to connect.
The Ipad generated the following error message:
    VPN Connection
    A configuration error occured
    OK Button
After searching for quite some time, i found this somewhat obscure reference to the bug:
    http://blogs.oreilly.com/iphone/2008/07/strong-passwords-can-hurt.html
    Special thx to this guy!
So i started to test special characters to see what would work, adding in 1 character at a time. Here is where I stopped:
    pre-shared-key !@#$%^&*()_-+=;:'<>,.
These characters worked in the PSK. If you are curious, and want to play, have fun. I assume the alphnumerics will work since those are pretty standard.
As a side note, here are a few more interesting items:
    1) The " (quote mark) does work when you run the real cisco vpn client. This was successful on a Windows 7 laptop with 5.X VPN Client.
    2) The ? (question mark) doesnt work as well, but that is a little easier to figure out because when you configure it on the ASA, context-sensitive help kicks in and knocks you off the config line.
    3) Iphone I4S suffers from the same issue - doesnt like quotes.
    4) Android is probably not affected by this bug, but I tested on an open source TUN driver- enabled adroid - not the bionic.
Hope that saves someone some time, sometime!
    W

    Thanks for the tip.
Help stamp out special characters in passwords. Their "strength" is a myth!
    Explained nicely here: http://xkcd.com/936/

This is just a warning to let you know that the server was not able to verify whether the private key matches your public key, because it could not get the key from HSM. This is normal. SSL should still work.

  • Key focus is not visible for all objects when tabbing

    I'm using LabView 5.1.
The key focus is not visible for all objects when tabbing through a "disabled and grayed-out" object.
For example, let's say I create a panel with 3 buttons. If I create a "disabled" attribute for button 2 and assign the value "2" (disabled and grayed-out) to it. When I will run this VI, the key navigation will go through button 1 and button 3 (skipping button 2 as expected) but the key focus on button 3 will not be visible.
Is this a bug with LabView or am I doing something wrong ?

    Hi Ben,
Don't worry, time is not an issue... I'm posting an example of a VI with the problem I described. I noticed that the problem occurs only with "dialog buttons".
When you have time, let me know if you see the same behavior. If you do, I will report the problem to National Instrument.
    Thanks for your time !

Process instance with key '0' does not exist
Such issue typically appears when the Provisioning is initiated without "Auto Save" i.e. before ORC_KEY entry goes in the OIU table...
Second possibility can be that the mandatory attributes in the process form are not populated..
Third possibility can be that the Status is Waiting... And Resource is dependent on another Resource...
Are you able to Direct Provision the account? I mean without raising Request Based provisioning?
    Please give us following details:
    (1) Resource Profile:-status of Auto Save
    (2) Approval Process:- status of Auto Save and Auto Pre-Pop
    (3) Prov Process:-status of Auto Save and Auto Pre-Pop.
    (4) Is the object form properly populated?
    (5) Is the Process form properly populated?
    (6) Any Exception occurred during Approval process?
    (6) In the OIM Database, fire the following query:-
    SELECT OIU.ORC_KEY
    FROM OIU, USR, OBI
    WHERE OIU.USR_KEY=USR.USR_KEY
    AND UPPER(USR.USR_LOGIN)=UPPER('ABCDEFGH_USER')
    AND OBI.OBI_KEY=OIU.OBI_KEY
AND OBI.OBI_KEY IN (SELECT OBI.OBI_KEY FROM OBI,OBJ WHERE OBI.OBJ_KEY=OBJ.OBJ_KEY AND
    UPPER(OBJ.OBJ_NAME)=UPPER('AD USER'))
This will show whether any proper ORC_KEY was generated for this resource instance..

  • Recovering secure notes from keychain

I recently had my 2011 Macbook Pro's logic board fail on me so I bought a new MacBook Pro and just finished restoring my old Time Machine Backup.
Much to my dismay, all of my secure notes (and maybe some of my website passwords) are nowhere to be found in the Keychain Access program. I have tried to restore my 'login(dot)keychain' from User/Library/Keychain on my TM backup, but the secure notes are still no where to be found. My secure notes are where I keep ALL of my passwords for everything and it is a major major inconvenience that I cannot access them.
Does anyone know what I can do?
(If it is of any use, in the Keychain folder in my TM backup there are several files named something like login keychain Sbx76tv)
    Help is very much appreciated,
    Ajay

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ls -@Oaen L*/Keyc* | pbcopy
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Accelerator key - is this a bug in Swing?

    Hello to everyone.
I've written this Swing app which has JMenu.
Anyway, i have set accelerator keys on most of JMenuItems but here is what is not working:
    JMenuItem exPaperXML = new JMenuItem("Paper XML");
exPaperXML.setAccelerator(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_F10, 0));As you can see, I tried to set F10 to be accelerator key for this JMenuItem.
It doesn't work. It doesn't fire exPaperXML.actionPerformed(..) event, but
instead it highlights File JMenuItem (which doesn't have accelerator key set at all).
For example, I have set F9 as accelerator key for another JMenuItem and it works fine.
What do you think, is this a bug in Swing?
    My JDK version is 1.4.2_05
    Thanks!

    1) Read the JMenuBar API.
    2) Click on the "JMenuBar Key Assignments" link
    3) Click on "Key Java"
    4) Note how F10 is used to select the first item.camickr thank you for quick reply.
Is there a way to override this default action?
    Thanks.

  • Insecurity of Keychain Access: "secure" notes visible during authentication

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm not keen on wading through 137 pages of discussions.
I recently discovered Keychain Access' ability to create "secure notes," and thought this would be a wonderful way to keep my serial numbers, bank accounts, and other sensitive information secure.
However, I just tried to actually decrypt this information for the first time, and was rather shocked. When you attempt to open a secure note, and select the "show note" checkbox that prompts the "Deny / Allow Once / Always Allow" dialog box, the dialog box contains the "secure" information from the note!
In my example, which you can see here (http://www.justinreese.com/media/images/secure_bbedit.png), the entire text of the note is included in the dialog, previous to any password authentication. Of course, because I'm reusing the login keychain, I understand that it's already been decrypted upon logging in; however, I was under the impression that using Keychain Access to store secure notes and other passwords offered a secondary level of protection, and that even if someone were able to compromise my system while I was logged in, at least that sensitive data would remain secure (the way a dedication application such as Wallet or Yojimbo would do it).
So... is this a bug, an oversight, or simply my own poor planning in using the login keychain to store secure information?
    Thanks to all.

My suspicion is that when you created the note, in the "name" field, you used "paste" intending to paste "BBEdit 8 Registration". However, if the clipboard at the time had contained multiple lines, the "Name:" field would then contain the entire contents (Owner Name, Email Address, etc), although it might not be immediately apparent since the main "Keychain Access" window would only display the first line. However, when asking for authentication, the full "Name" is displayed. This scenario is easy enough to replicate.
The odd thing is that even if the "Name:" is subsequently edited to remove the extra lines, the "authentication dialogue" seems to continue to ask for authentication using the "old" name... it's probably being cached somewhere but I haven't been able to track it down.
So in this case, I would call this "user error" for putting "secure" info in an "insecure" field in the first place, but there is definitely some sort of bug / oversight / slopiness in that the authentication dialogue doesn't update - so in effect it is asking you to authenticate for one thing, when in reality it is authenticating something that might have a completely different name. That sort of thing might open up "spoofing" opportunities, but for a user's personal keychain, I would suspect that anyone that can get close enough to do something with it would have opportunities to do far worse. Still, it can't be a good thing...

http://mojomarketplace.com/ seems to work fine for me. <br />
Try reloading the webpage while bypassing the cache using '''one''' of the following steps:
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with a left click. <br />OR<br />
*Press ''Ctrl'' + ''F5'' or ''Ctrl'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Windows and Linux)
    *Press ''Command'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Mac)
Firefox shouldn't be "installing" Joomla CMS.
