Lost Applications after Macbook transfer

I recently bought a new mac, and i restored the contents of my old macbook to this one. The new mac had updated Apps such as iPhoto keynote etc. How do i get those back now that I've restored my system? since updating or getting those apps now costs me £10 for iphoto for example
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Savage854,
when MacBook Pros came with grey installation DVDs, the iLife apps were on the second grey DVD. Now that they don’t come with any installation discs, the iLife apps are recoverable by downloading them via the Mac App Store, even though you didn’t buy them through the Mac App Store.
I’ll repeat my previous question: have you tried holding down the Option key as you select the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store, to see if it that will allow you to redownload your new Mac’s iLife apps gratis?

  • Lost applications after PDA turn off

    Hello everyone.
I’m developing an application for TPC-2006 with LV8 and PDA 8 module. I have deployed the application into the device and works fine, however after a turn off the application is deleted from the device. Anyone knows how can I store the application in a non-volatile memory zone? The TPC-2006 has no memory card.
    Thanks

The TPC 2006 has, according to its data sheet, 64 MB SDRAM, 64 MB flash memory onboard, and a CompactFlash memory expansion slot. To me, means that it should behave like other PDAs. I thought I had a similar problem during the first hour of utilisation of my iPaq... until I discovered that the files where saved in the Document folder, while I was searching the Application folder... .
This being said, the TPC 2006 is a National Instrument product and you should obtain a better help from NI engineers !

  • Lost applications after update Firmware

After upgrade to Firmware 5.x most of the Applications on my SDCard are not added tot any Menu and cannot be found.
Probably is has something to do with the message that 'Not trusted software found on memorycard....' and therefore is stops scanning de SDCard for applications. In de Applications Manager all found Programs are 'installed' and I could not find anyhing strange.
Is there an way to 'force' scanning or to add Applications Manualy?
    Thanks for thinking.

Using Application mgr. on device are there any alphanumeric names - not installed?

  • IPhoto in MacBook Pro 2013 only shows "place holders," but no photos, after data transfer from Macbook Air 32011

I am trying to transfer data from my MacBook Air 2011 to a "new" MacBook Pro 2013.  Both are running Yosemite 10.10.2.  Since Migration Assistant WOULD NOT WORK (the MacBook Air couldn't "see" the MacBook Pro), using my WiFi network, I transferred the necessary data to a 500GB drive and THEN to the MacBook Pro.  However, two programs didn't transfer well - or at all!  iTunes only transferred the Music (Media?) files, but not iTunes U, Podcasts, Audiobooks, etc.  I have had to  drill down into the storage files, retrieve the non-transferred files and add them, one by one - a most laborious task.  But, this is nothing compared to the problem with iPhoto (9.6), which shows only 6 events and 4 Faces transferred, with the rest only place holders (black boxes and grey dotted squares) in all the folders in my iPhoto.
I "Showed Package Contents," and found the missing files - of which there are many! - and started adding them, again, one by one.
Can anyone tell me what happened to my iPhoto (Yosemite 10.10.2)?  It's fine on my MacBook Air, but simply WON'T TRANSFER to my MacBook Pro?
PLEASE - someone tell me how to CORRECTLY transfer my iPhoto files and/or HOW TO MAKE THE MACBOOK AIR "SEE" THE MACBOOK PRO in Migration Assistant?

    Hello Mary,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with moving your data over to your new Mac. There are a few alternatives that you can do to migrate that data if you are not seeing it in Migration Assistant. The first is make a Time Machine back up to that 500 Gb external hard drive and then use that in Migration Assistant to copy the entire data over. If you do that you will want to remove any data that you have on your MacBook Pro after the transfer completes as it will create another user with the data from the MacBook Air. Another option is to use a Thunderbolt Cable that you can purchase online if you want and use the option from another disk to copy that over. Take a look at the articles below for more details.

  • How do you transfer pages application from macbook to new iMac

how do you transfer pages application from macbook to new imac?

Install it on the iMac using the same method you used to install it on your MacBook.
If your MacBook came with it already installed, it may not be a version compatible with your new iMac.

  • Applications on Macbook Air

After I did the Migrate Assistant to transfer the Applications from Macbook Pro to Macbook Air, now I want to go back to the previous Applications of Macbook Air. Could you please help me do that? Thanks.

I'm assuming you did a migration on a new MacBook air, in which case if it came with Lion, the App Store will have the Applications it came with under your APP Store Purchases. If it came with 10.6, then you can use the installer disk (or memory stick) to run the application installer to reinstall the default apps.
However, if you had installed third party apps and haven't a time Machine backup, you won't be able to reinstall without re downloading or using the instal CD/DVD that came with the program.

  • Lost 2GB after upgrading to mavericks

Seems that I need to ask Apple to credit part of my new MacBook AIR purchase !  I lost 2GB after upgrading to Mavericks.  Used to be at over 6GB of RAM after booting before running my apps, now I come to the same point at 4GB !!  Anyone else have the same issue.  I changed nothing else !

normal, RAM USE CHANGED in Mavericks to make it better
Mavericks is designed to use RAM differently for good reason. Normal
    http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/06/12/compressed-memory-in-os-x-109-maverick s-aims-to-free-ram-extend-battery-life
Mavericks uses RAM much more efficiently than any other previous version of OS X. Mavericks now has a memory compression feature that will compress the memory occupied by applications that aren't being actively used and give the freed up RAM to the application that needs it the most.
Memory Pressure graph that tells you how stressed is the system in terms of memory.

  • Photo image size after file transfer much smaller

I am transfering photos over to my wife's Macbook and after the transfer, the photos are of a much smaller file size. Is there a way to transfer the photos at their full image size?

Dragging and dropping to a web-based email (gmail) makes the photo appear inside the message itself, and not as an attachment, which is what I wanted.

    Hi,
Sounds like it isn't to serious. the Bluetooth connection had an error and that is that generated
    the Problem report.
When the Blackberry started to use Bluetooth the "gold standard" was using Microsoft's
"native" windows drivers. Now, every major PC company has there own version
    Thus the problem report.
There is  rather involved and lengthy procedure to check and install the correct Bluetooth drivers
in the Dell, but I really don't think you want to take that on.( Nod you head and say H*LL YES)
    Here is what I propose;
The problem report needs to be resolved or it wont go away. Read the manual, call Dell,
try apologizing to it and that you'll never never do it again, what ever it takes!
Make the best investment you can make for your Blackberry, buy a media card.
All the memory in the BB is dynamic, this facilitates the functions of the phone.
By storing media in that memory, you effect are wasting X amount for file storage.
Store all media and files on the media card, and you will have a smooth running device.
They run about $25.00usd, they are easy to install, and they also make moving your
media a snap. You will need the USB adapter that came with it, but you can get that at
    your local carrier store.
So if you agree with this I need some info.
On the Blackberry go to the options icon, click then scroll up to ABOUT.
I need your software version number, it's listed in this format: 4.x.x.xxx.
Send it back to me and I can tell you what size card you can get.
    Let me know your thoughts!
    Thanks,
