Lost apps since upgrading to V3
I thought I upgraded to version 3.0 successfully yesterday, but noticed today that 2 of my more commonly used apps are missing! They are neither on the iphone or on my iTunes. And more bizarrely, neither of these apps – Zenbe and Virgin Mobile use – are in my purchase history. Fortunately I still have the email receipts to prove purchase. Has anyone come across this? Any advice?
Not sure what happened, but you can re-download 3rd party apps from the app store with iTunes on your computer, and you won't be charged again for any purchased apps as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the apps that was used to purchase the apps originally.

Sound alerts not working in Mail and Ichat apps since upgrade to 10.4.9
I just noticed my Sound alets not working in Mail and Ichat apps since upgrade to 10.4.9.
I'm using soundsticks which is playing sounds thru quicktime, itunes, etc but my alert sounds for getting new emails and IM messages is not working. I get the quick "white flash" on the screen instead. I checked the prefs on both apps and it is set to give me the alert sound, I can even test it in the ichat pref when I change the new message alert sound it will play it thru my speakers but when I get a new message in either app it just gives me the white flash.
I'm read that it can be an issue of not having the balance in the system sound pref set the middle, so I checked that, restarted, all that but still no luck.
I really like the sound alert features because I can be in another part of my house, turn the sound way up and I'll know when one of my clients is trying to reach me but now I can't do that.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Brown.RecluseOk, weird, strange...did ONE more restart and now its working fine...who knows?

Have not been able to download apps since upgrading to iOS8.1.3 on iPad Mini 2.

What happens when you try.
Apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase it, so you can't use your new Apple id to update the app, you will need to use the old one.

Since upgrading to ios7 my iPhone 4S no longer allows me to watch music videos in full screen mode when I select the clips via a playlist from the music app.
It's now more necessary than before to use the music app rather than the video app to select music videos to play. That's because the video app doesn't list music videos by artist any more. And also because the fast forward and rewind buttons on headphones remote no longer work on videos.
How do I watch full screen videos when rotating my iphone now shows my music library rather than showing the video itself?I do not think it is a problem to play videos in the full screen mode using the video app. It should work just fine, it does work ok for me on iphone 5. The original question was to play music videos in the music app. Music videos and videos are two different things - I am not sure why but they are.
The problem here is that the music app supports lists and the video app does not. I just looked at the ios7 video app and while my few test videos are shown in it, the lists they were in (in iTunes) are nowhere to be found. There is no lists in the video app - period - which is as it was before.
The video app plays videos and music videos in the full screen mode no problem but if you have a few hundreds or more of such videos you will have hard time finding the one you want to play. There is simply no way to categorize or group videos. The old good folders/directories are, I guess, too simple for Apple. It is just too bad that for years on end the world's leader in S/W development did not offer anything to categorize videos.
You have lists, albums, etc., for music, you have albums for pictures but you have absolutely nothing for videos. And this is and has been the Apple's state-of-the art solution for this problem - simply insist that the problem does not exist. Actually it is getting worse. Not only there is nothing to categorize or group videos but now the only way it could be done (by marking videos as music videos and using the music app) results in a mini playback area.
Soon this OS will be able to cook dinner for your but grouping videos... no way.
What is happening here??? -
Swirly rainbow with certain apps since upgrading to Maverick
Ever since upgrading to Maverick, I've had problems with certain apps, mainly iphoto and Word. I see where I probably need to get the upgraded iphoto app, but don't see anything about Word.
Thank you. Here is the report:

Lost apps after upgrade to 5.0.0.591
Like many on this forum, I had the upgrade to 5.0.0.591 pushed to me by Verizon. In general, I have not had nearly as many problems as many have reported on this forum, but I have lost a couple of apps including Audible player and Shazaam. Are there any known fixes to these apps? Details below:
My Blackberry Tour 9630 recently updated itself to a new OS version. I am now running v 5.0.0.591 (Bundle 1002, Platform 4.2.0.272). In the process of the upgrade, it seemed to break the Audible player (version 1.4.12) that had been working fine up to that point. It is now listed as "Unavailable" in the applications list. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Additionally, Shazaam Encore 2.5.1 will no longer run.
Any suggestions that you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stu RichStu,
I too have lost apps when I upgraded from version 4.7 to version 5.0. Ddi you find out if they are trying to fix it?
Thanks,
Todd -
Problems with apps since upgrading to Mountain Lion
Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I get the message "Application Not Responding" for several apps (Quark 9, CS5 apps, and Word for Mac) after they've been sitting open and not being used for a couple of hours. I have to "Force Quit", then restart the program. Not sure what's going on. Didn't have this problem with Lion. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?
OK, I updated Quark 9, CS5 apps & Word for Mac. Quark 9 and InDesign are still giving me "Application Not Responding" after being open and unused for a few hours. The other apps are now working fine...Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Bridge and Word for Mac. Any suggestions for what I should do about Quark and InDesign?

HT1689 I can't download apps since upgrading to ios7 help.
Since upgrading to iOS 7 I cannot download/purchase apps to my ipad. I get "Unable to purchase could not be purchased at this time" as an error message. Help.
Have you tried to sign out and then sign back in? I know I had an issue, the only way I could download was via iTunes. Then something happened and I had to have my security questions reset. Once that happened I was able to download again.

HT4623 have lost in install app since upgrade to ios7?
Some folks have fixed a finicky home button by using compressed air. Press on the button and spray the air in on the opposite side - press up, spray the bottom of the button, press left, spray the right side.

Last November, my ASUS laptop forced me to update to Windows 8.1. Since then, I cannot connect to my organization's mobile EAS using the Mail/Calendar/People app. The Mail app says "We could not connect to .... because of problems with its
digital certificates. Contact your system administrator for info." I also tried to delete the account and recreate it. At the account info screen, it gave a related error message, stating "To connect to this account, you need a
valid certificate on the PC. Contact your system administrator for more info."
In trying to recreate the account, I note that the 8.1 Mail app appears to have combined all EAS connections -- I seem to recall different options for connecting previously, including one that was more specific to mobile EAS connections. My organization
only supports connection to mobile devices, and I continue to be able to connect via Windows phone, Android (iOS devices also supported).
I have done some digging and see that in my Windows Certificate Manager, there is a Personal Certificate with an error message. It's a "Token Signing Public Key" for "Client Authentication" using an RSA Public Key, but under the Certification
Path tab, the status states "The issuer of the certificate could not be found." I suspect this is the certificate that my organization's server is sending but is no longer being recognized by Windows 8.1.
My organization has been unwilling to support me on this. They point to the fact that all other devices work, my connection worked with Windows 8.0, and they don't have enough users that connect via Windows 8.1 laptops/tablets to troubleshoot on their
end. They also don't want to change setting that then cause other users to lose connectivity on the more commonly used mobile devices.
So, to trouble shoot myself, I have looked up posts on related issues and I have done all of the following to no avail:
- Make sure my Windows is up to date, including that latest Certificate/Credential update;
- Uninstalled the Mail/Calender/People App, restarted, and reinstalled it;
- Had MS Online support try to trouble shoot. They created a test account and tried to connect using that to no avail.
Notably, I have two Windows 8.1 machines -- my wife and I got matching ASUS laptops that both upgraded to 8.1 from 8.0 -- and I am unable to connect to my organization's mobile EAS using either machine.
To me, this is clearly a Windows 8.1 issue. The Mail/Calendar/People app should interface with mobile EAS exactly the same way that other mobile OSes do. Apparently this was the case with Windows 8.0, but no longer.
The last thing I'll add is that my organization requires password and remote wiping when connecting to the mobile EAS. But, this wasn't an issue when I had Windows 8.0 -- it connected fine and mandated password and remote wipe features.
NOTE: I originally posted this question on the Windows 8.1 Tehchnet forum and was told by an MS Engineer Soumya Sunda Debroy to repost in this forum.
PLEASE ADVISE. YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED.
- DanPer the post above, I was pointed to Microsoft's remote connectivity analyzer and it appears to me that the GoDaddy Certificate -- which was compatible with Windows 8, is not compatible with Windows 8.1. (See results below.
I've also seen posts in other threads to "Ignore SSL errors" -- my Mail app doesn't present me that option, even though I uninstalled and reinstalled it. So, can anyone help?

I upgraded my iPad 1 to the new iOS, 5.0, and it removed an application I downloaded from the Apple Store called Noteworthy. It was a note taking software, and it's been upgraded a few times since I bought it, so I know it's legitimate. I lost all my notes, etc. Anyone have advice? This is pretty critical for me!
Apple stepped me through the backup restore, only to find out it was all gone. VERY UNHAPPY with APPLE, and am planning to tell everyone I know. Step one of any upgrade should be to conduct a back-up, and confirm it with the user. I guess Apple thinks they are above process? Oh well...eight months of notes flushed away. I guess I should not have had a choice in keeping those, right??? APPLE BITES!

Missing apps since upgrading to version 4.5
I lost a number of important applications when I upgraded. Moreover, I messed up and did not backup ( or couldn't find it if I did). I no longer have tasks, maps, or the ability to open attachments in Word and PDF. Instead, I have a bunch of instant messaging apps I don't want. Is there any way to get the missing apps back without having to redo everything?
the backup should have been saved in MY DOCUMENTS. This can restore data but not programs
docs2go, tasks, maps, bbmessenger, memo, those are all part of the device software.
You can open DTM click on application loader, click on update, it will find the same 4.5 software that you just installed, and give you a check list, scroll the check list and find your programs. pput in a check mark and continue. then it will install those few apps. Dont worry it wont reinstall everything. -
HT4623 Lost Apps with Upgrade to iOS7
I lost all my apps when I downloaded iOS7. Does anyone know if they are somewhere on my phone (perhaps where I cannot access or immediately locate them - if so where?) or do I have to redownload them?
If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

Also read the instructions from the section entitled "Update your device using iTunes" at the link below.

My son upgraded his iPad mini a couple of weeks ago to iOS 8.1. The internet and everything else still works but he has not been able to log into iTunes for anything since. When we log in it says "cannot connect to iTunes store". We have confirmed the password and it still works of our other devices. We have confirmed his devices is still enabled under the Apple ID. Suggestions?
I wish that had worked. I logged off from the setting on the mini and on my main computer. I got the same message that it cannot log into the store. I was able to log back in on my computer though.
