  • Lost sound playback for movies, podcasts, etc.  How can I regain playback?

I have lost audio playback for movies, podcasts, etc on my iPad2.  New user.  How can I get my sound playback back?  It worked initially!

discovered the solution from another discussion group.
Double clicking on the "home" button of the iPad opens a list of apps across the bottom of the screen.  Moving to the left end of this display there is an audio slide bar which was set to the lowest part on my iPad.  Moving this setting to a mid level restored sound to the video feeds I was having trouble with.

  • Audio Playback Frame by Frame - Enabling & Disabling

    Hello,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Initial searching has been fruitless.
    Using Final Cut Pro 5.0.4
I have managed to somehow disable audio playback when moving the playhead frame by frame & when scrubbing through.
This occurs both in Viewer window & when clip is on the timeline.
The audio meter also doesn't register/update any change.
    Many thanks.

    Fred:
Check View > Audio Scrubbing or SHIFT+S.
    Hope that helps !

  • Audio playback, frame by frame

In previous versions of FCP (e.g. 3), when I would drag the playback point through a clip, the audio would play for that frame. It resulted in the audio sounding "cut up". With 4.5, I can no longer do this. I found it helpful when trying to determine the exact frame that contained the beginning of a sound, which is has been very useful for syncing up multiple angles.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn this back on?
    Thank you!

Do you have external video playback on? If so, is your audio following your video playback?
What are your different settings for View>External Video, View> Audio Playback, and View> Video Playback?

  • Turning OFF Audio Playback during capture?

When capturing a tape from my video camera in Premiere Pro, How do I turn off the audio playback while recording?
I want to record the audio and the video, but I don't want to hear the tape's audio playing back through my computer speakers while recording. The technician I spoke to over the phone was extremely unhelpful and suggested I simply mute my computer speakers if I don't want to hear it. What if I want to listen to music or am trying to watch another video file in a different program without having to hear the premiere pro audio blaring over it. Please someone tell me the rude technician I spoke to did not understand clearly what I was asking and if anyone knows how to accomplish this or can shed anymore light on the topic.
I just spent 40 minutes on the phone with an adobe tech support rep who took 40 minutes to correctly understand the issue I was calling for and then informed me that the functionality does not exist within the premiere pro software. Sorry if this comes off as a little edgy, but my tech "support" call was extremely frustrating and now to find that premiere pro wont let you listen to anything in any other program while recording seems a little rediculous.
    Thanks,

It is risky to run other applications while capturing footage.  May lead to dropped frames.  I have found that Premiere is a resource hog and more likely to have this problem than other capture programs.  Not that Premiere is a bad program for capture, but you might find an alternative that provides a better solution for your specific need.
It has been a few years since using Scenalyzer, but I always found that program to be extremely reliable and flexible.  And it has the capability of silencing the audio during capture.  Since you didn't say what format you are capturing I can't say whether Scenalyzer will work for you.  Check it out.
I don't think Harm was being condesending at all.  He is simply warning you about the potential problems your system may face by attempting to multi-task in the manner you describe.  It's up to you to decide if you want to follow the advice you seek here.
    Good luck

  • X201 hangs and makes noises during audio playback

Hello, I've a 3249CTO X201 with 8g of ram and an updated Hdd (seagate momentus xt 500gb with 4gb ssd).
I had issues with the Hdd that where partially resolved with a seagate firmware update (the hdd kept going from standby to active mode without apparent reason and it was assumed to be a too agressive power saving mode...)
Anyway, my issue here is the annoying chirping sound coming out the speakers during any audio playback (online audio streams, films, mp3, youtube... you name it!) anytime the Hdd is accessed.
It even seems like everything just hangs for anywhere between 0 and 2 seconds at the exact same time.
It only happens when on battery and using w7 pro 64bit. If I use ubuntu from my 8g sdhc card, it never occurs (even if I use chrome on both and watching the exact same youtube video). (NOTE that I did access the hdd from ubuntu to prove my point...)
I think it is related to the power gestion of the system and I've tried a countless serie of different power management settings. It affect the frequency of the episodes (would occur more or less often) but it still happens.
When plugged in, it never occurs....
If it doesn't occur under ubuntu (I mean never!), it should not be hardware related, however the w7 way of managing power is different so I tend to think there IS a hardware issue (weakness) wich might be highligted by the OS.
Anybody has a good lead on this?

    Hello Fafaneboat,
It might be an issue with firmware of your system, I would like to suggest you please visit the below mentioned web link to download and install few drivers according to your Operating System.

  • Having random crashes during audio playback.

    Greetings,
I seem to be having some issues with crashing during audio playback.  Here are my specs:
    MSI K8N Neo2 Plat  (1.B BIOS)
    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Winchester)
4x512 Corsair TWINX 1024 3200C2PT (Bought at seperate times, but revisions are almost exact and they run stable)
    NVIDIA GeForce 6800
    Creative Audigy 2 ZS
    Forton Source FSP 400W
It seems to do the same thing every time.  The audio will start skipping (in more than 1 media player) and after no BSOD, the computer will reboot itself.  I have it set to show a BSOD as well.  It has even started to ask to check my D: drive for errors after this.
The problem first started to occur after a couple of things.  I recently updated my bios to the 1.B version as stated.  And a week or so ago I did a fresh install of Windows.  The sound was working fine with the new BIOS, but now with the new Windows install it has had issues.  Are there any known issues with the Audigy2 ZS and the new 1.B BIOS that I just didn't experience before?  Granted, I did not have my old install of Windows long under the new 1.B BIOS.
At this moment I am using the AC97 onboard audio to see if that crashes as well, and just to hopefully have the random crashes stop happening.  I know there are quite a few avenues to take, I am just looking for opinions on which would be the best one.  Reflash the bios to an older version?  Try the Audigy2 in a different PCI slot? (I had it in the 2nd to bottom as the NIC is plugged into the orange PCI)  Contact Creative for an RMA or repair of the card?  I only bought it on December 16th, so it's fairly new.  Something else I am maybe missing?  A BIOS or Windows setting?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  If I need to provide any more info, please say so and I will promptly.
    Thanks.

I have the same MB and CPU but I am using the onboard sound and have not had any problems with that.
I can recommand that you bump up your memory voltage to 2.6~2.7 and loosen up your memory timings to something like 2.5-5-5-8-2T.
Then remove all drivers from your Audigy, disable your onboard sound and remove those drivers, shut down and install your Audigy and boot up allowing Windows to find your new hardware and then install the drivers.

  • Bugged audio playback? When I start working with more than 1 audio track.

    Hi!
I have been using premiere elements 12 for editing FullHD videos.
Brand new for me just bought it like 2 weeks ago.
Now during the last couple weeks I have had this MAJOR proglem with editing the audio.
This problem is headache and turns my simple editing into almost impossibilites.
I have had this problem with all my projects. _ALL_
Usually the problem seems to appear when I want to start working with several audio tracks.
At somepoint my projects just get ruined, I simply cannot hear the audio tracks.
The audio starts to disapear randomly from all the audio tracks.
It is not only playback problem. When I exported the video, the audio was partly missing, same as the project.
I have tried to look help on forums and search all what I could find, but havent been able to solve this.
    Small fix has slightly helped:
I export audio to single track and bring it back to project. This works but I still usually have more editing to do.
I simply cannot understand why the playback disapears, I fear it is a bug.
I found lot of earlier version problems on people with similar type of problems, but no help for this version of program.
To solve the matter I have changed my audio setting in PE12.
Tried Premiere Elements WDM Sound and ASIO4ALL V2, but same problem on both.
I have looked up that my audio playback device and PE12 matches, and are not muted, and volumes maxed.
I have deleted my C:\ appdata\roaming\adobe  premiere elements & premiere elements 12 folder preferences.. not helping..
I press the update pretty much everyday hoping for new version.. But yes, program keeps telling me its the latest.
I usually only work with 3 audio track maxinum. And I am doing really the most basic stuff here..
I have set all my audios to foreground and it has given me best results, but it does not seem to take the problem away as at somepoint randomly my audio playback is missing again, randomly across the playback.
Please anyone? I am feeling hopeless here.
    Info on my computer:
    Operating system: Win7
    Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) x4 955 processor 3.20 GHz

First of all, thank you for replying my message!
I will go and try to answer best I can.
    Source media properties:

    Format: avi
    Frame width: 1920
    Frame height: 1080
    Data rate: 1990656kbps
    total bit rate 1992192kbps
    Frame rate 30/frames/seccond
    Audio of video properties:
    Codec: PCM
    Format: 16bit, stereo
    Bit rate: 1536kbps
    Channels: 2(stereo)
    Audio sample rate 48 kHz
In addition to that I use wav files for music and narrate
    Music files sizes 20-50mb
    bit rate: ~1411kbps
In total sizes of audio involved is usually something like 300mb
What are you or the program setting as the project preset in the new project dialog. See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and its Editing Mode, Timebase, and Frame Size readings.
I opened new project and this is what i got:
    Editing mode: HD 1080i
    Timebase: 25,00 frames/second
    Frame size: 1920 x1080
    Audio is 48000 Hz
(I dont know how to change these, btw. Program don't seem to let me change editing mode.
I also looked up my most recent project and found these settings:
    Editing Mode: DSLR
    Timebase: 30,00 frames/second
    Frame size: 1920 x1080
    ..and same audio settings
Do the problems persist if you start a new project? Do you find the audio problems develop when the Timeline content is fairly well developed or can the problems occur when there a minimal amount of content of those tracks? Let us look at the size and duration of this project.
Yes, I have had this problem with all my projects. Sometimes it goes away tho, just enough for me to work bit more. My work progress usually starts by clipping the video material, like 1h material to 8minutes in clips. After that I want to work with audio tracks, and here problems start! When I start working with more than 1 track, so the problem is at later stage. To fix the problem a small fix I have used, I export audio like music and effects tracks together to 1 wav and bring it back. After that, I start working with narrate track. To describe the problem with audio:
Audio Randomly starts to disapear when I playback, and can also be gone if I export the video out.
My source videos total size are usually within 80Gb max limit and audio edit material 300mb total.
In my last project my biggest source video was 47GB and leingth of 1h 4m, in addition to that I had 3 smaller videos, sizes of 1GB, 1,54GB and 300MB.
Is there any evidence that you are accidentially moving the audio track rubberband to alter the audio volume. That rubberband is the orange line that runs horizontally through the middle of the audio clip when you are looking at the wave form display style of that audio track. The rubberband represents audio volume.
No, audio volumes might have been adjusted in my tracks but they are present. The problem is usually like ~2-5seconds, a random audio track can be heard (like music or narrate) or just no sounds at all. This makes it very difficult to work with the audio. Also I gotta say that this problem starts by simply having the 2-3 audio tracks.. In my recent project the only adjustment I used to edit the audio was fade in/out.
I don't have any other audio problems with any other programs.
I am more than happy to provide more information if needed. I hope this information helps.
In addition I can say that when I close Adobe Premiere Elements 12, it crashes. No idea why.
I have also looked up my firewall settings, anything involved adobe and premiere..
In addition some effects like HD text templates make "Adobe Media Core CS6" crash. I tend to just not use em, or if I need em, I add em at end of the edits.
I hope this helps, I would really like to solve this problem.
Thank you alot for taking the time to answer! I welcome anyone to help mee too! Please giev links to similar problems too. Thank you everybody!

  • Sync audio playback to external monitor.

Is there any way in FCPX to delay the audio playback to be in sync with an external monitor.
In FCP7 it was called "Frame delay".
I have no standalone audio delay available.
I´m cutting music videos and while the external video (BM Intensity Extreme via HDMI) is only delayed 2-3 frames, it is virtually useless...

You might be able to pull something out of this article that could help:

  • Audio playback delay using M-Audio Audiophile

    I have an MBP, 2.66 GHz i7, 4GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 Ram. External monitor on DVI. OS X 10.6.8
I've just started using FCP X and have cut one movie with it ( http://youtu.be/SUQLTk4aCS8 )
However I am now experiencing a problem that audio playback is about 10 frames behind the video, even though the waveform on the screen lines up with the video.
I am using an M-Audio Audiophile firewire audio interface to playback audio. When I switch back to the internal soundcard audio sync is fine. This problem started after I updated the M-Audio driver, as the one on the MBP was the one that transferred across when I copied all my files from my previous MBP (I can't remember Apple's name for this process, when you connect the new computer to old computer by firewire and transfer all files and settings automatically)
The M-Audio control panel wasn't working on this MBP so I updated to the newset driver, the 64 bit version. I assume the i7 and OS X 10.6.8 is 64 bit but I am not positive as I could not find any guidance on my computer or elsewhere.
Can anyone help me with this? I prefer the sound quality of my Audiophile, I find the internal soundcard very trebly. Just want to get rid of the playback delay.

    Thanks for responding.
It seems quite strange that the driver update caused the problem...maybe I should roll back to the previous driver? worth a try I guess...although this is a new machine so doing that could cause other problems.
ANNNNOYING....on the internal soundcard, whenever I click the mouse or scroll the timeline I hear annoying clicks and pops thru my speakers.
What kind of 'pro' software doesnt let u use an external soundcard. I think Apple really screwed up here. I feel sorry for everyone who invested in full-on FCP suites and training time for editing feature films who are no longer going to get updates and support.

  • Any luck with audio playback on the iPad?

A general question to everyone using the HTML5 converter.
I have yet to find the magic combination for consistent audio playback on the iPad. Sometimes it plays, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the audio will play on a slide, then after refreshing the page it doesn't play, even if I sit and wait for it.... Please trust that I've clicked the audio button to download it. & I've  compressed the crap out of the audio,  not to mention I've tested this with a short presentation and a larger presentation, object audio vs slide audio... Results are the same. The audio is fully converting, as it plays on my desktop via Safari.
Is anyone else experiencing similar audio issues?

I don't have any answers for the inconsistency of audio playback, but I am going to have someone much more versed in java take a look at it and maybe provide some insight. Really, I have no idea.
If your getting consistent audio playback the second time through, great. I wish that was happening for me. I am getting about half of my 19 slides to play audio, and never the first or second slide.
I was having the audio repeat on each slide, but I was able to control it somewhat by manipulating the code. One way is to make sure your timeline in each slide of your Captivate file ends when the audio ends, and any object that is pausing the slide pauses within the audio timeline...... but what I found was happening is that the "pause" for each click box I have on each slide that keeps the module from automatically advancing to the next had a frame reference that was outside the frame area of the audio file....in the converted code.
if you get to the part in the html code of the converted file where it lists each slide and it's objects, check the frame reference for the audio against any object that pauses the slide....(below in bold):
in my example, the audio plays from frame 1 to 356, and then the click box pauses at 355, before I edited it, it was pausing at 359 (1 frame before the end of slide 1), causing the audio to start playing again.
Everyone's project is different, but this worked for me, and I hope it gives you some direction.

  • Premiere Elements 12 - Gaps in audio playback

    Hello everyone!
I have a problem with Adobe Premiere Elements 12: when I play video in timeline or preview window, there are lots of gaps and pauses in audio playback, even though video is playing smoothly. Usually the pattern goes like this: 2 seconds of clean audio - 0,5 seconds silence - 2 seconds of clean audio... etc.
    I have tried the following:
    - change audio buffer settings
    - change audio device (I have tested with integrated audio chip ("High Definition Audio"), M-Audio Fast Track Pro and cheap USB audio interface - same results with all of them)
    - start a new project with correct settings and import only one file
    - disable background antivirus monitoring
Usually source material is AVCHD 1440x1080 25fps (PAL, MTS-file) from small Sony camera, but this problem seems to continue even if I insert only still photo and mp3 audio to timeline. CPU load is about 6% during playback. It seems like Premiere Elements makes these gaps to playback signal before sending it to audio hardware?
Computer specs: Intel Core i7-4770 @ 3,4GHz, 16 GB RAM, 128GB SSD drive for OS & software and 2.0TB 7200 rpm drive for video, Intel HD Graphics 4600, Windows 8 (64bit).
I would be really grateful if someone could give me some tips to solve this annoying audio playback problem.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this problem occurs all the time - even when video is rendered in timeline.

Thanks for the quick response, TonyPh12345.  Clearly not what I was hoping for but not unexpected. BB

This happens when listening through apple headPhones or my audio lead aux input to my stereo.
This has only started since the last software update (5.1). It's really frustrating as you often hit the jump back or forward arrows when restarting, instead of the intended Play symbol ( they are close together). This is really frustrating when your listing to an hour+ podcast.
Is anyone else having this problem since the update?

Same problem here! My phone was functioning correctly after the update until today, when it randomly attempted it's own emergency call, then requested that I turn on location services. When I hit cancel, it repeatedly requested that I turn on the service. When I agreed to turn on location services, it defaulted to the screen with the iTunes logo and the USB cable. Since then, I have been unable to get it to function. The phone has been switching between a black screen and the apple screen and buzzing periodically. When I touched the apple, it pixellated and melted away. I did see a message that the iPhone needed to be activated once and very briefly. I managed to connect it to iTunes using an old troubleshooting guide, but when I asked iTunes to restore it to factory settings (politely, thank you), it gave me error 21 (unknown error) and said it was unable to restore.
    Hopefully someone has an answer...?

  • No audio playback QT 7.0.4

I really need help from you wizards...
I've just upgraded QT to 7.0.4 and have lost all mp3 audio playback. I was on QT 6.5.2 running under OSX 10.3.9 (refuse to upgrade to Tiger cos of compatibility issues). It also does not playback audio on some video files with AAC audio MPEG-1 muxed files are no problem).
I've tried rolling back to 7.0.1 with no luck.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Scrapesuiter
Nope, I use Itunes to handle MP3 files and they play fine....I also checked the Audio Midi setup. I've rolled back my version to 6.5.2 and everything is hunky dory...It could be a system issue that would require a clean install. When I get time I may just do this.
Thanks for your help anyway. Nice to know help is out there.

  • Audio playback interrupts randomly

What might be wrong, when the imported .aif or .mp3 file playback interrupts after few seconds of playing?
In timeline audioeditor same track plays fine, but in canvas it only plays for few seconds.
The audio playback is behaving like a scratched DVD, or like it was too heavy for the processor.
There is not any moving images, as I tried to start a project by first importing the music, but even it does not function properly.

And to answer my self, I found the solution from the preferences:
The chekbox "pause audio playback" when sync is lost, was checked. Unchecking it cleared the problem.
