Lost audio

When I add clips from the viewer to the time line in the normal way via the canvas and there is no audio file in the audio track of the sequence. There is audio when the clip is previewed in the viewer. I must have switched off the audio track somehow (trying to use only one mono file of a stereo take). After a couple hours of searching through menus and putting key words into online manual searches I have had no success in getting back to square 1. Does anyone out there have any clues?

Do you have any of the audio tracks 'targeted' in the Timeline? If you do, try targeting a different track and see if that works.

  • I lost audio on my imac

I lost audio thru imac speakers and mic, what should i check?

Unplug and re-plug in the speaker connection. Check the cable, check to see that sound isn't muted.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update your Profile. This is needed to better troubleshoot problems, please let advise what version of OS X is installed on the iMac and it would be helpful to know what iMac you own.

  • Suddenly lost audio output on Apple TV

I was using Apple TV and suddenly lost audio. Sound effects still work, but no other audio comes from anything in Apple TV.

Same problem. Worked fine last night while watching a purchased movie. This morning, video works fine, but no sound, from my computer itunes or itunes radio on the apple tv. Odd.
It seems the required update somehow knocked out audio. Once I updated the software on the Apple TV, the sound came back.

  • Lost audio and rooms disappearing

I'm checking to see if anyone else is having increased issues in a couple of areas (it has gotten so bad, we're having to look at alternatives):
    1. We had multiple recorded classes last week. When we went back to listen to playbacks, only half had the audio track. (We do a lot of these, so we're sure it wasn't user error.)
    2. We scheduled a multi-day class. When we went in to start the calss, the whole room and all setup had disappeared.
    3. During a class, we suddenly lost some of our pods, and could not bring them back.

We did report these cases to Adobe.
The response on the disappearing room - "no clue"
No response after 5 days on the lost audio. We've had to reschedule classes at significant lost revenue to our company.

  • HP Special Edition L2000 --Installed Win7Home Edition- 64bit and lost audio.

Installed Win7 Home Edition --64bit  on my HP Special Edition L2000 and lost audio.  Speaker icon has red X, and when hover over it, the text says "No Audio Output Device is installed".  (The previous operating system was XP-Pro, 32-bit).
Have tried the driver update --SP30399.exe for the Conexant.   Scan shows no audio device at all, but no hardware has been changed.  Suggestions?
    Thanks,KBos

    Hello KBos,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you've upgraded the OS to Windows Vista from XP. That now you're having an Audio issue. I will try to help you with this.
The driver update that you've run, was for XP. This could be why it never helped. On the HP site, there's no Audio Driver update for Windows.
You can take a look at the following documents to see if what they suggest can  help you with resolving the issue.
No Sound from the Speakers (Windows Vista)
Resolving No Sound or Audio Problems (Windows Vista)
Please let me know if this is able to help you out. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Installed Mountain Lion and lost audio

    2.26 core 2 duo
    13" mid 2009
    Pro
    4 gb
Installed Mountain Lion and lost audio.
How do I get it back?!

    1. Open Activity Monitor.app (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor.app)
    2. Select ‘All Processes’ from the drop down menu next to the search bar (called ‘Filter:’) and type in ‘coreaudio’.
    3. Select the process name and click the ‘Quit Process’ button at the top. Chose ‘Quit’ or ‘Force Quit’ from the resulting dialogue box.
The coreaudio process will automatically restart itself (if you look closely at the PID number in Activity Monitor you’ll notice it changes after you hit ‘Quit’) and your sound problems should be solved.

  • X230 Type 2306 Lost Audio

I have an X230 Type 2306-CTO (Windows 7 64) that has recently lost audio.
No program has working audio, nor do working headphones produce sound.
I have installed and ran Lenovo system update version 5.03.0005.
I have also installed and ran the "Troubleshoot Audio Playback" troubleshooter for Windows 7.  It asks if I want to troubleshoot "Speaker/HP - Realtek High Definition Audio" or "Headphones - Bluetooth Hands-free Audio".  If I choose "Speaker/HP"  it "couldn't identify the problem", and if I choose "Headphones" it prompts me to "plug in the speaker, headset or headphone" even when headphones are already plugged in (it does not recognize plugged in headphones, and the troubleshooter stops there).
If I click on the speaker icon in my lower right hand tray, I can adjust the volume to 100%.  If I open the mixer, both Device and Applications are at 100% and not muted.  If I open Speaker/HP properties, device usage is listed as "Use this device (enable)".  If I choose the advanced tab and try to play a test tone, "Failed to play test tone" message is given.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Mithun,
When I went into my “Manage Audio Devices” (at work) I noticed three devices:
    Headphones (Bluetooth Hands-free Audio, Disconnected)
S271HL (Intel(R) Display Audio, Default Device)
Speaker/HP (Realtek High Definition Audio, Default Multimedia Device)
I disabled the S271HL device, which then made Speaker/HP my default device.  I then double clicked on that device, chose the enhancements tab, and made sure the “Disable all sound effects” option was chosen.
    This did not restore audio.
Then, under “services.msc” was listed “Windows Audio” and “Windows Audio Endpoint Builder”.  I right clicked both of them and chose “restart”.
    This did not restore audio.
I then went to my “Manage Audio Devices” (at home), and the S271HL device was no longer listed.
I retried resetting the two items under “services.msc” (at home) and audio was not restored.
I then went to my “Manage Audio Devices” (at work, next day) and the S271HL device was listed again, and still disabled.
I then used CCleaner to run the uninstaller for Intel(R) WiDi.  After restarting my computer, I then returned to “Manage Audio Devices” (at work) and the S271HL device was still listed, and still disabled. However, audio still did not work.
I would appreciate any additional suggestions.
    Kevin.

  • Lost audio after Vista upgrade on a Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E

    Hello,
I've just upgrade to vista and i've lost my audio. I've tried all the latest drives, still no luck. The pc says the driver is installed and the device is working correctly but i cant hear nothing. Volume is 100% also.
    Any ideas?

    I have a similar problem.
You can solve the problem in one of two ways, and I list them in the order I would recommend you try them:
    1. Disable Driver Enhancements for your device.
Through control panel, double click on sound. You should receive a prompt asking you if you want to disable Driver Enhancements. Click yes. Restart. Done.
    If this doesnt work, try
    2. Install vista drivers direct from Realtek.
Realtek has new drivers available for High Def Audio. They can be found at:
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
Click on High Definition Audio Codecs
Select under windows, Vista Driver (32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file) and select one of the mirrors and download the file (Warning: Takes a long time!)
Under control panel, through device manager, uninstall your realtek audio device.
    Restart.
When Vista detects the new device, just click cancel.
Open the Zip file, find Setup.exe and install. Done.
    Yep. Done!
Good luck and let me know how you get on.
    Cheers
    Celticjif
