Lost BASIC section of adjustment panel in DEVELOP mode.

Editing my first image in Lr5, v7.  Somehow I have lost the BASIC section of adjustment panel in the DEVELOP mode.  This adjustment panel now starts at TONE CURVE, just under the TOOL STRIP.  How can I get the BASIC section of the adjustment panel back???

Right-click on Tone Curve or any other tab and choose Basic again.
Or in develop Mode press Cmd+1 (Ctrl+1)

  • In 5.4 my basic panel in develop mode is different on my laptop and desktop.

Desktop displays highlights, shadows, whites and blacks, Laptop displays exposure, recovery, fill light and blacks which was the same as my previous lightroom 3.4. It was not an upgrade I don't think, I did have 3.4 installed previously. I prefer the version on my desktop.

Difference is due to whether photo being viewed is set to use current or legacy process version.
one place to check: develop module - camera calibration section.

  • Image "flashing" as move adjustment sliders in develop mode

    using LR4.1 with iMac i7, 8gb ram, system 10.7.3.
after a few edits, 15-20, there is constant delay as the image is blanked, redrawn, blanked, redrawn, etc. This occurs with most adjustments but does not start until 10 or 12 images have been processed.
have seen this referenced before but cannot find the thread.
this did not happen with lr3.6.
    any ideas?
    thanks

We're 3 for 3 fixing this with this technique, on Mac. Thanks for reporting back.
The flashing is really getting annoying.
For example, I was cropping an image today in 4.1RC and I had already cropped several images w/o a problem.  I kept the same aspect ratio, dragged in the upper left and lower right to get close to what I wanted for the size of the crop and then clicked on the image to drag it into place.
During the drag the image flashed, a new crop rectangle was entered into the history and the actual crop radically changed.  The zoom level and the placement jumped in value.  I had to resize the crop and again attempt to move the image into the crop area.  It flashed again during the first drag operation.  A new size of crop was created and the zoom level again changed.  Rinse and repeat.  I simply could not get a proper crop.  NOTE:  During the entire 'drag' process I did not release the mouse.  The flash happened during the drag.
I have experienced this exact problem in prior instances of LR and it affected the development sliders, too.  The only remedy I have found is to exit LR and once again it will work correctly for a handful of images.  When it starts up again I immediately exit and restart.
Adobe really needs to find out what is going here and either squash this bug or let us know that 'something' besides LR is causing the problem.  Note, I have never had a similar problem in any other image editing software be it from Adobe or anyone else--just LR.

  • My Tone Curve has disappeared from my develop mode

I've lost my tone curve application in the develop mode - how do I find it again?

Right-click on one of the other panel headings and make sure there is a checkmark in Tone Curve.
    Or, press Ctrl(Cmd Mac)/2.

  • In Develop mode not all of the adjustment panels are showing.  The basic panel is not evident.

Right click near to one of the other options e.g tone curve and a popup list will provid you with the option to display or hide the options. see image capture.

Right Click (CTRL Click on Mac) on any Panel header in the Develop module (ie. Tone Curve, HSL, etc) and put a check mark next to Basic to unhide it.

  • I lost my Basic module in Develop mode...HELP!

While letting someone borrow my lightroom, I lost my Basic module in the Develop mode.  I am LOST without it.  How can I get it back?  Reinstall?  Time Machine from past?  Will I lose pics if I do that?

Right click any panel header onthe right hand side of the interface, and place a check mark next to "Basic."
Or, press Ctrl-1 (Windows) or Cmd-1 (Mac).
There's also a menu command to view the panel, but I can't remember it and I don't have LR in front of me right now.

  • The "basic" section of the develop module suddenly disappeared, how do I get it back

I was in the develop module, click to move down to the detail section when the app flashed and the "basic" section was gone.  I have no idea what I clicked and am not able to establish the "basic" section.  Any ideas?

Right mouse click on any of the right side panel headers. A context menu should appear and you should see Basic listed at top. Click on same to make Basic panel visible again. It would also be worth checking to see if Solo mode is activated in same context menu. If it is then I suggest you deactivate it.

  • I've lost my adjust panel, how do I get it back?

I seem to have lost the "adjust panel" for editing photo's in IPhoto 5.0.4. I've tried to edit from both the library and in albums. This seems to have happened after a recent upgrade to 10.4.3 and shortly thereafter a memory upgrade from 512MB's to 1. GB and a warranty replacement of my super drive. Any ideas?

    Hi Mel,
It MIGHT be that you need to make your window larger so you can see it in the toolbar...or...look under the >> and see if it is there.

  • The "BASIC" section of tools has disappeared from my Development Window.  How do I get it  to reappear?

Suddenly when I open LR and go to the develop section, there is no "BASIC" section and all the adjustments therein are not accessible.  It just goes from the histogram and the crop, etc. tool bar to the "Tone Curve" with no "Basic"...  I am on the Creative Cloud and previously all was fine.... How do I get the Basic section back?
    Thanks,

Right-click (or the Mac equivalent) on the Tone Curve, or any other Develop module section on the right, and you'll see a list of sections to enable.  I only have Basic, Detail, and Camera Calibration enabled at the moment because I'm testing some new custom camera profiles I've just made:

  • Highlights and Shadows Adjustment Panel

    Hi
Since upgrading to 3.3.1 yesterday, I have lost the Advanced segment of the Highlights and Shadows adjustment panel.
It will show up on photos which had been previously edited using this segment, but not on photos which have not been edited.
Photos are on an external drive.
    Any fixes?

    See Kirby Krieger's Thread:
How to not miss that olde-tyme Highlights & Shadows 7-slider Brick
Basically you use an image, that still has the Version 3.2 Highlights & Shadows adjustments and create an adjustment preset (effect) from this image. Then you can use the advanced controls again for all images.

  • Adjustment panels for Exposure and White balance have dissapeared

I have been using Lr 5.3 to adjust some RAW images.  My Develope pane is now missing the pane for White balance, hue and also the pane for Exposure, Contrast, highlights etc adjustments.  I don't know how this happened or how to restore them.  I am using iMac.
    Cheers

There is a little known feature in Lightroom to hide/unhide those panels.
Sounds like the Basic panel has been inadvertently set to hidden. It's a common issue posted in this forum almost weekly.
Right click anywhere below the Histogram in the Develop module and click "Basic" to unhide that panel.
