Lost calandar on sync

I have been syncing my life drive for over a year, and one day it froze up. I cancelled the sync, reset and tried again. It froze again. I uninstalled the software and tried again. It continues to freeze at the same place. I lost almost all my calandar data. Is it the cord or the unit.

There may be database corruption causing the issue. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will scan for database corruption and then report the corruption. You can then find the records causing the problem and fix them yourself or you can purchase the program and have it automatically fix the records.

To install the program, set all conduits to "do nothing" except quick install or install if using Palm desktop 6.2.
After you install the program on the handheld, run the scan and also scan for Blobs in the calendar.
After you clean-up the database on the handheld, set the conduits in hotsync to handheld overwrites desktop and perform a hotsync.

Is it possible to recover ical data lost in a sync?

Your only bet is to resotre from the Time Machine backup. However when you do this the sync process will promptly delete the calendars again, so you need to work through the slightly convoluted method detailed in this page:

  • If my  ipod nano already has music on it but not my account will all my stuff be lost when i sync it to my account

if my ipod nano already has music on it but not on my new account will all my stuff be lost when i sync it to my new accont and would i still be able to add stuff from the old account to my ipod

All your iTunes Store purchases are linked to the account.  I do not think you can use two accounts with an iPod*, so you will have to choose one account or the other, and use only the things purchased under that account.
*I've never actually tried, but that's my understanding.  You'd get a better answer by posting in the correct forum.  Try the iPod forums rather than the Using Apple Support Communities forum.

  • Lost all previously sync'd emails and other strange things.....

Yesterday I noticed some odd things on my BB and was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
    1.  When I went into my phone to make a call around mid-day, the typical call log file was empty - first strange thing.
    2.  After I sent an SMS it was in listed in my mail as a sent message but then it would disappear from view.  The users received the message but my record of it disappeared without me deleting it.
    3.  I lost all previously sync'd emails from my corporate email before 4:56 PM yesterday.  Although emails from my comcast account which I sync still appeared.
    4.  When I looked at available memory it was 0% and then it slowly crept up to 14038765 bytes
Based on number 4 above, am I to assume my BB dumped items due to a memory issue?
Understanding that  can be the case I am still losing records of IM's received and sent without me deleting them.
Any thoughts from the forum members are welcome.
Lastly - what does Theme Controlled mean under General Options/ SMS and Email Inboxes?

Grapechic, this probably has to do with your device memory. Please see the article below (pulled from the support page on blackberry.com).
Call and SMS logs disappear when BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory
    Doc ID : KB11570
    Last Modified : 2007-05-17
    Document Type : Support
    Environment
    BlackBerry® smartphone
    BlackBerry Device Software 4.2
ProblemWhen the BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory, Short Message Service (SMS) logs and call logs disappear.
CauseWhen the BlackBerry smartphone becomes critically low on memory, SMS messages and call logs will automatically be deleted in order to keep a minimum amount of free space available. This functionality is by design.
ResolutionIf the BlackBerry smartphone becomes low on memory, try the following:
Check how much memory is currently available. See KB04353 for further information.
Ensure that media is saved on the media card, and not on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Since web browsing results in cached files on the BlackBerry smartphone try clearing the browser cache. See KB03865 for further information.
Lower the reserved picture memory setting. See KB12383 for further information.
Use the application loader tool to remove any unused applications, such as themes, ring tones, or third-party applications.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. Check the available memory after the hard reset. See KB02141 for further information.
If the issue still persists, perform the following, checking the available memory after each step.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions see KB02141. Then clear unnecessary calls logs and phone messages.
Remove Phone Call and SMS log databases from the BlackBerry smartphone. See KB03974 for further information.
Perform an application load to erase all applications and install the latest BlackBerry Device Software. See KB03621 for further information.

  • I siged up for 10.6 & lost all my sync to outlook?

I siged up for 10.6 & lost all my sync to outlook?

Thanks planb77. Your instructions worked but I had to do a little more than you stated. I did not realize that transferring files to a new computer was not enough. When the iPod synced I was told I needed to "authorize" my new computer to get my iTunes purchases to sync to the iPod. So after the initial sync, I ejected and disconnected the iPod, went into the iTunes store, set up "home sharing" and then authorized the new computer. When that was done I reconnected the iPod and was able to sync all my books and music. The only thing I couldn't do was rename the iPod as iTunes never asked me to. Is there a way to rename it after it has been set by iTunes as "owner's iPod"?

  • Voice memos lost in iTunes sync

I use voice memos on my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.2) to record my lectures for university. I synced my voice memos today to iTunes  (11.1.1) and some, but not all, of the lectures were lost. Those which were lost had a similar title and were for the same class.  Their titles in voice memos on the iPhone still exist, but their time of recording has been reduced from ~1:15:00 they were at to 0:00, as if I had never recored them at all.  They were present before the wireless sync and are now absent.  Some of the syncing went on without issue, but those for the same class did not.  I am a disabled student and use these lectures for revision.  Is there any way I can locate them?
    Cheers,
    Jenny

Jenny-did you ever get an answer to this?

  • ISync has lost ability to sync incrementally

    15" Aluminum 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 running 10.4.8, Address Book 4.0.4 (485.1), iSync 2.3 (500.86), Motorola E815 running software version 8720_01.17.03
I have a Motorola E815 on Verizon. I bought it because it was the first Verizon phone that supported Bluetooth syncing.
I have been syncing my OS X Address Book contacts and iCal data with the phone with no problem for over a year.
I had a kernel panic in January and lost iCal and Address book data. No worries, that gets backed up every morning to my iDisk . I restored it.
However, since then every time I use iSync it seems to take much longer, along the lines of a full or first-time sync.
For instance, I'll sync, and then remember to add one more contact to my sync set, and sync again. That used to be a really quick sync because it was updating just one change, but now the second sync takes just as long as the first.
Any ideas what might be going on? Why did things change since the restore?
By the way, I think I restored all application preferences, as well. That's one of the items in my daily backup to iDisk, and after that kernel panic a few things were goofy so I restored all applications preferences, not just the address book and iCal data.

It sounds as if your events are being forced into slow synchronization mode each time, which should only have happened the first time you synchronized after restoring the data and triggering the next event.
Launch iSync, open the Preferences… dialog and press the Reset Sync History button. That will leave your clients registered and your data intact, but remove any synchronization history from the truth database. When you next trigger an event, it should force a single slow synchronization merging your data, unless you have selected instead to replace the data on your mobile handset. From that point on, it should operate as you expect it to.
Here is a document describing how the Sync Service framework operates:

  • A virus was on my computer and we had to do a reinstall of Windows XP. Everything was lost, if I sync my Itouch 4th Gen with computer will I loose everything? Since it will recognize the computer as a new computer. All help is much appreciated.

Last night my boyfriend did a reinstall of our old desktop which runs Windows XP. He did not do a back up of ITunes or the libary just whiped everything. I am afraid that if I Sync my ITouch I will lose all of my music and movies etc... since the ITouch wont recognize the computer. I have backed everything up onto the ICloud but my sysytem is so old I cant run IClooud on my desktop.I have already downloaded the newest version of ITunes onto the desktop and "Authorized" the new computer and logged into the ITunes account. But need more info before I want to plug my ITouch into it. I did this once before and lost all of my movies and music so this time I am asking before jumping in with both feet.
thank you so much for your help and time! Much Appreciated

    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • Past month calandar not syncing with iCloud on my ipad

We purchased an iPad 2 towards the beginning of the summer and and iMac in September.  Last week we upgraded both operating systems and created and iCloud account.  However, once created, calandar entries were duplicated.  I called apple support and they walked me through exporting calandar items on the computer to iCloud, and then deleting the the "on the mac" calandars so that items were no longer duplicated.  However, when my iPad synced up, only entries from the current month forward appeared.  Prior month calandar entries did not show up.
    Any ideas?

Also make sure you are using the same iCloud account on your PC and your iPhone.  Go to Settings/iCloud on your iPhone and check the account email address.  Then check the iCloud account on your PC.  If you have a Windows PC, click on the iCloud icon in your system tray to see what icloud email account you are logged into.
I changed the email on my iPhone and. iPad, but forgot to change the email on my PC and my calendars wouldn't sync.  It finally dawned on me that I forgot to change the account on my PC.

  • IPod Touch lost it's sync'd apps

Hi - I tried Syncing Applications for the first time today using iTunes 9.0, and it has not worked - I am so p*** with this flawed software.
Firstly - only about 30% of my applications now exist on my iPod - which means I have to go through and re-install all of the other apps. I did have around 8-9 pages of installed apps (5 pages of purchase history on my iTunes account) - and now I have around 2 pages and it's moved them all about and put them in the wrong place.
Secondly - Of those that exist - iTunes appears to have uninstalled them, then re-installed them again - which means ALL of my saved games and history of data stored against these apps is completely and permanently lost. What the heck were Apple thinking when they wrote this piece of crap? So far, any free ones (e.g. Tap Tap Revenge 2.6) I have attempted to reinstall do not work and were working fine beforehand - co-incidence? I think not...
Thirdly - And most annoyingly - When I attempt to re-install the apps again, instead of stating "You have already purchased this, please click to re-install" like it should do - for every app, it is asking me to buy it again - which I am definitely not going to do.
I have purchase history in my account to prove I have purchased these before.
This software is seriously flawed in every aspect - I cannot tell you how angry I am that Apple have completely screwed my iPod touch - a day before I travel abroad and need to use it.
And I tried that deauthorise and reauthorise my iTunes account and it didn't work. Neither does Backing up and Restoring because before it sync'd (screwed) my apps, it made a backup overwriting my perfectly good one with a crap one...
Excuse the emotion but I expect far better from Apple... Just not good enough I am afraid
I have emailed them but don't expect much in the way of help - just wondering if anyone had had similar experiences and could offer any help
    thanks!

Yup, I got the exact same thing just now. Incredibly annoying. No, "annoying" doesn't quite cover it. Is there anything that can be done to fix this!??? I don't want to repurchase all those apps again

  • Lost photos after syncing iphone 4 for the first time

I just connected my iphone4 to my pc for the first time and now my pictures are all gone (on both computer and phone). Any way to get them back?

Sounds like you performed a sync to an empty Outlook, correct? You never want to sync to an empty application. Doing so will erase the data on your phone. Before you do anything else, put one unique contact, calendar & note entry in Outlook.
As to restoring your lost data, the key question is have you performed a sync since the sync that erased your data? If not, restoring from backup will restore the data. If you have synced since that initial sync, your data is gone. So, if you have not synced, do this: First disable auto-sync in iTunes>Preferences>Devices(under the edit menu if using Windows). Connect your phone, right-click in the device pane & select "Reset Warnings". Right-click again and select "Restore from Backup". If prompted to create another backup, decline. When the restore completes, you must then sync to restore your iTunes content. You'll get a popup regarding your contacts, etc., asking to "Merge" or "Replace". Select "Merge".

  • How do I retrieve Notes I lost during iPhone sync?

I synced my iPhone to my Macbook and now all of my OLD notes from my Macbook have been saved over top of the NEW notes that were on my phone. Both my phone and my Macbook mail now have the old versions. Is there any way to retrieve the newer versions that I lost (the ones that were on my phone)?

Really? Because I selected Device, Sync. It only did this with Notes that had the same name as some notes in my mail. It asked which version I wanted to save and despite the fact that I selected the newer versions it still saved the older versions of these particular notes. The rest of my phone is fine. I haven't manually backed up anything.

  • Lost computer originally synced with... Will I loose by syncing to new computer?

I lost the computer I synced my 3Gs with. Will I lose my photos and music if I sync to a new computer?

My bad, automatic downloads will only download new purchases between devices after setting it up. When you try to sync your iphone, it will let you know that your media content will be deleted, and prompt you to transfer purchases. This will put purchased content onto your new computer.

  • HT204074 Lost Music on Sync operation.

I seem to have lost ALL of my music from my iPhone after a sync operation to my macbook pro.  When I open the music icon on my phone, it is empty and states no music, playlists, albums or songs.  Over 1100 songs gone.  I did subscribe to iTunes match just prior to the sync but nothing is in my cloud under music.  There is no music found on my computer either.  In cyberspace I guess.  Any suggestions?  I would greatly appreciate any help.

Leave the iPod set on "Enable Disk Usage" or "Manual Update" whichever you choose and use a third party program to copy the ipod like yamipod http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499
