'Lost' Calendars in OSX 10.4.6

My iCal calendars, lost in a crash following a recent software adjustment must be somewhere on my computer, or in the home folder backed up on a separate h/drive, or on my 'other' Powerbook, but all folders marked 'Calendar' are empty, and copying files marked iCal from preferences etc have no effect. This data (important to me) must be somewhere - how do I find it? Can Migration Assistant transfer just the relevant iCal files without other applications being affected? iCal has always been so stable through lots of OSX upgrades etc that backing up beyond my normal Home folder data backup didn't seem like an issue - until OSX 10.4.6!
James

The calendar files are in ~/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources/, one folder for each calendar.

  • Is there any way of backing up Apple calendar in OSX Yosemite?

I want an automated process/script that could run at a certain time of day and could back up my calendar automatically. I found a script that used to do so for iCal in earlier versions of OSX however since now iCal has been updated to Calendar the script is no longer valid.
Can somebody help me with automating the process of automating the process of backing up Apple calendar in OSX Yosemite?

DO NOT even TRY to use your drive.
    Get a new replacement kit.
    http://www.macsales.com
Boot off an external drive.  Use that.
Get the demo of Data Rescue 4, if it can find files, great buy it for $99.
You will need a drive to recover files to so pick up one unless you have a spare drive sitting around with enough storage.
After you have as much backed up or recovered as possible you can try other things to repair or do a secure erase to see if it is usable as a spare backup drive.
I would look at an SSD upgrade to replace the failing drive, and if you need RAM now would be the time.

  • Is there a plain English guide to sharing iCal Calendars via OSX Server Mountain Lion?

Is there a plain English guide to sharing iCal Calendars via OSX Server Mountain Lion? The present documentation is very limited and of no assistance to a beginner like me.

I don't have a domain set up on OSXServer  I just have server.myserver.private. I have no mail services at server.myserver.private. I uses [email protected] (a different server)  as the email address in the setup process.
When I go to share the calendar it requires a valid email address, rather than [email protected], so I enter my email address as a test, I try many other email addresses too but the server responds with an error stating " (email adress) was not recognized by the server.  A new invitation has not been sent.

  • Can I retrieve a lost calendar from a back-up?

Lost Calendar: I have an 8 GB MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011) processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and 16 GB iPhone 5s with iOS 8.1.3. I am using Calendar version 8.0. About a week ago my primary calendar which I share with my husband just went missing from computer, my phone and his phone. He noticed it. I was not aware of doing ANYTHING that would have deleted this calendar, nor did I have any warning that I might be deleting it. I attempted to restore from a back-up but do not have the expertise required if it is even possible.

  • Lost Calendar Using Mountain Lion

OMG someone please help! I recently notice that one of my 8 calendars is missing! My guess is that it happened when i was updating to ML yes i know should always wait. Can someone please help me figure out a way to locate my lost Calendar ? i've never used Time Machine in this situation. I should also say that it's also gone from icloud which means it's lost in my iphone and ipad!
Any help would be greatly appreicative.

You cannot see it because it is hidden.. one of those great things apple does.. if it is hidden in your Mac then it will be hidden in the Time Machine Backup.
You will need to restore the entire folder to a different location.. and unhide it.
There is some info here about restoring particular files or folders.
    http://pondini.org/TM/16.html
And some info from Lion which should also relate to Mountain Lion.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3231381?start=0&tstart=0
There is stuff about recovery near the end.
One wonders sometimes when Apple make these decisions if they ever think about what happens when something goes wrong. Hiding files..???

  • HT4901 Lost calendar

I accidentally deleted my iCloud calendar. I am able to restore from my iCloud back up but then a few seconds later, it syncs it back to the deleted version. Any advice?

Re: Lost calendar events on iPhone but they are still on Mac
Your instructions: "If the calendar on your iMac is correct you can replace the calendar on your phone with the calendar on your Mac using iTunes.  To do this, connect your phone to iTunes, click on the name of your phone on the left side andgo to the Info tab to the right.  Here, confirm that you have checked Sync Calendars.  Then, further down under Advanced Replace Information on this iPhone, check Calendars.  Click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.  This will transfer you iMac calendar to your iPhone.  When finished, eject your iPhone and confirm that your calendar is restored."
I tried following your instructions (above). It appeared to be syncing, but nothing on calendar appeared. However, when I made an entry to my calendar for today, and clicked "Done", all of the events for this month pop up.  However, when I go back one month, there is nothing-all days appear empty. But, if I click on an event that shows on the bottom of the page for that day, open it, and go back, rest of calendar events for that month show. Wish there was a way I could get it all done so I don't have to go back month by month and restore. Don't know why this happened or how to prevent it in the future.
Your 'fix' was very helpful. If you have any ideas how to totally restore, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  • Restore lost calendar

How do I restore lost calendar information?

I am missing all the calndars I created just on my MacBook Pro.  This happened when I got an iPad Mini and I was trying to sync everything via iCloud.  I finally got Contacts figured out, but as I was trying to sync it all, my calendars have disappeared.  I can't find a place to enable or disable any calendars from view.

  • How to remove all calendars from OSX

I have a MBP with OSX Lion. iCloud all set up.
I want to delete all local calendars from MBP so I can run a sych with iCloud so I don't duplicate events.
How to I delete all local calendars so my iCloud sync stays clean.
I'm surprised that in addition to options to merge events, they did not have an option to delete current local events and overwrite with iCloud.
    Thanks..
PS. I think this can be done by deleting some library files, but I would prefer to hear from someone before attempting this solution.
    Thanks,

If you sync your calendars in iCloud, it will remove them from the computer. You don't have the option to keep them local.
To verify this, quit iCloud. This will be done by signing out. It should tell you that your calendars won't be available locally and you can verify that by opening iCal.
The local calendars are stored in you user folder>Library under the Calendars folder.
Personally, I wish there were an option to keep them local when signing out of iCloud like there is with Contacts.

  • How do I retrieve lost calendar data?

I didn't like having both personal and work calendar in both devices (iPhone and iPad) and decided to deactivate iCloud calendar feature and lost all the data.  How can I get them back to my devices again?

I would try reconnecting to iCloud, and wait until your calendar appointments re-sync. You may have to go to the settings pane and set the calendar settings to re-sync all old appointments – I think the default is to only sync appointments that occurred within the past month and in the future. After all your appointments reappear, then go to the settings pane and choose "Mail, contacts, calendars". On the next page select your MobileMe account and you will see switches that allow you to turn off contacts, mail, calendars etc. turn off the calendars and it should ask you if you want to keep the events or not at that point tell it you wish to keep the events.

  • Lost calendar events after sync

after syncing my mac book air with my iphone 4 i lost all my past and future calendar events on my macbook and iphone.
I have backups on time capsule:
Q: how do i recover my approx 900 calendar events from time capsule into my calendar on macbook without copy and paste 900 of them into their respective date on my now empty calendar?
    appreciate help

I can't get my iPhone 3GS to sync calendars with either iCal or Outlook.  Everything I entered into my iPhone calendar is GONE. The data I previously entered into and synced from my iPhone is still in my Outlook calendar, which used to sync seamlessly, but I can't get iCal to import the Outlook calendar, either (my assumption being that the iPhone would be more apt to sync to an Apple device more than a Microsoft application). The only calendar events that sync from my Mac Pro to my iPhone are the few that are in iCal.  Office 2011 for Mac just had a big update, too - I wonder if there are multiple culprits here.

  • Lost Calendar info

I've had some problems keeping my calendars in sync from Mac to iPhone and iPad. Now I have lost some information from my calendar on my Mac. If I do a mobileme sync will I then lose the information stored on mobileme or will I get it back from mobileme?

Could go either way. If data is disappearing by itself that suggests you have a corrupt calendar file on one or more of your devices. With corrupt data, things do not always behave as they are supposed to.
If there is information on MobileMe that you want that is not anywhere else, you can login as a new user on your Mac, go to Apple > System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync > Advanced > Reset Sync Data and reset the sync data from MobileMe down to the computer. This will pull a copy of whatever is on MobileMe down to the new user.
You can then use the File > Export > Export option to take that calendar out of iCal and put it in your normal user.
Once you have the data you want back in your calendar you can then follow http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8933.html to reset the sync data on MobileMe. This will then populate down to all your other devices (assuming the information on your computer is the most up to date.)
    Hope that helps.

  • Lost calendar 2 years in a row

For the second year, I have lost all my calendar events. I have upgraded the OS twice. I have reset the iPad by holding the two buttons. Not sure if either of those things erased it. Very frustrating. Had important dates for events at work.

Saw another discussion and fixed the problem.

Upgraded to OS X 10.10.3 from OS X 10.10.2 and lost all data appointments, etc in Calendar.
Tried retrieving calendar from Time Machine, but unable to recover as part running system.
What do I do to retrieve data?  All my medical appointments are on this calendar.
    Please help.

I found that is a hardware problem, because the 9600MGT didn't shown when I reinstall OS X Lion 10.7.4.
