My personal choice would be to use MPEG Streamclip (free) with the QT MPEG-2 Playback component ($20) installed to manually convert your files. This does, however, assumed that you cane either download/copy your DVD content directly from the camcorder to your hard drive or can do so from the DVD when inserted into your computer. This, therefore, assumes that you have finalized the DVD (if required) and it is either inserted into the computer or the camcorder is properly connected, powered, and recognized as an external device. In most cases, users forget to "finalize" their DVD and most devices (other than the camcorder itself) will not recognize the content until the disc is properly closed. -

To try and stop it happening again, then if they were in-app purchases then you should be able to turn them off on your iPhone via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off', and (possibly depending upon what version of iOS that you have on the phone) you might be able to set 'Require Password' to 'Immediately' on the Restrictions screen. -
What can I do? I am 68 y/o and not very computer literate. I put an micro SD card in my computer to copy the books (also some ebooks that I bought from a retailer) onto the SD card so that I could read it on my computer or my ereader by puting the card into the reader (tablet or whatever you want to call it).. HELP
Please follow the below steps and check:
1) Right click on the book in library that you want to copy from your computer. Click on the "Show File in Explorer".
2) Copy/Paste the book from this location to your SD card.
3) On your tablet open the book from your SD card in your ereader.
You need to make sure that you authorize your ereader with the same ID with which you authorized your computer. In case you do not remember which ID you used for authorizing your Digital Edition, click Help-> Authorization Information.

I was in your same situation with 14 downloads and 14 attempts.
You have to make sure that your Mac is booting into 64 bit mode. You can make sure of this by going into System Preferences and scrolling down to 'Software' and making sure that you are booding with 64 bit Kexts.
If not, restart while holding the 6 and 4 keys down until you see the spinning gear wheel and try installng again.
BUT, what I also did was to go into Applications, click on the Lion installer, Get Info, and give yourself custom priviliges to Read And Write.
I did this simultaneously, and I don't know what function did it, but it worked for me, with no further downloads of the installer.

What are you going to use the Migration Assistant for?
If it is to migrate between an Intel Mac and a PowerPC machine, that doesn't work well. Instead these directions have been made:

Intel Macs have been the type of Macs that have been new since 2006.
If it is between similar processor machines, usually a newer machine would come with discs that contain the Migration Assistant in anycase, making this whole point moot. -

An iTunes gift card is redeemed onto an iTunes account, so even though you may have redeemed it via the iTunes store its value should be on your account - so as long as you use the same account for buying ibooks then you should be able to use that balance.
