Lost connection ATT UVERSE

Photosmart c6180 originally setup with a Linksys wireless router and worked fine, then we suscibed to AT&T uverse and now I cannot connect to the printer.Signal strength is fine, the network name is the same but the wpa passphrase I have forgotten.I have restored factory defaults but I keep coming back to the passphrase that I've forgotten or was changed when uverse was brought in. I've called uverse but that is out of their realm they say. Is there a way to reset that passphrase?

Often the WPA is found underneath the router's serial number.  See if it's there.

  • Help in connecting ATT Uverse with MAC OS 7.2

After over an hour on the phone with ATT they tell me the problem in conecting to the internet with my new ATT Gateway modum is that I'm running Lion 7.2  They said i needed to talk to apple.  Help needed here!

Not sure what exactly you did (or not), but it looks as if you should attempt doing it all again, only this time all right and by the book. Many millions have done so, and sure it'll work for you as well.
If you've indeed purchased ML already, you'll find it exactly there in the App Store: under Purchases.

  • Can't connect to the internet in my home yet other devices can. I tried it in other Wifi places and it connects without a problem. My home Wifi is with Att uverse

Can't connect to the internet in my home yet other devices can. I tried it in other wifi places and it connects without a problem. My home wifi is with ATT Uverse. I cheched the IP address on my laptop and its different than on my Ipod although it on the same network.

Move off WEP to WPA or, preferably, to WPA2 (as recommended by Apple). WEP has been deprecated by the WiFi Alliance since 2004 as insecure (it can be cracked in seconds by any hacker).
Note that each device on a network has a unique IP address but if your address starts with 169 then you did not get a valid IP address assigned to you by your router. If restarting the router did not cure the problem then you should check for a firmware update for your router.

  • Can i connect my att uverse 3600HGV to tc

i just changed to att uverse and have the 2wire 3600HGV wireless gateway, my question can I and how do I connect to timecapsule and can I eliminate using the 3600 for signal?(turn off)

     -  the 2250 has numerous outputs - COAX - analog channel 3, S-video, composite for SD and component & HDMI for HD.
You need a video card for your computer to accept one of these inputs and the audio connection.
Two big names are Egato and Hauppage, but there are many devices available.
The signal may be subject to degredation due to copyright interpretation.
If you have need to connect  the computer & 2250 when you are at a distant location, consider a slingbox or other such device. The 2250 connects to the slingbox, which is connected to the internet & you can view & control(via IR blaster) your 2250 on your computer browser anywhere you have access to the internet( incluing home).

i have att u verse modem and it wi fi was not working. So i got net gear wi fi  and connected to att modem .  i connected my apple TV via Ethernet cable to att uverse modem . i did not want slow down my wi fi speed.  My Apple phone is on Netgear wifi .Now airplay is not working .

Make sure that the Att Modem goes to the netgear router via ethernet cable. Then connect your Apple Tv with a ethernet cable to the back of the net gear router. Airplay wants it to both be connected to the same device, usually.

  • Mail connection to att uverse?

My connection through ATT Uverse is working only sometime.  I can receive mail, but to send it, I have to do a network diagnostic on the POP connection.  ATT says I have all the right settings and it is an Apple problem.  I have a Mac mini and software 10.6.  Any solutions out there?

AT&T U-Verse (uverse), as of July 2014, requires that you verify your non-AT&T mail accounts before they allow you to send outgoing non-AT&T mail.
Here's how to verify your non-AT&T mail accounts and link them to your AT&T U-verse account
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22291865
Log into your AT&T U-verse webmail att.net email account (e.g. Yahoo mail)
    > click the gear at upper right of screen next to your name
Navigate to Settings > Accounts > Add
Add your non-AT&T mail accounts/  Enter info they require
U-verse will send a verification email to those mail accounts.
After you reply and verify your identity, you will be able to send outgoing email for those accounts via Mail, so long
    as you have Mail configured.

  • T43 and Wireless connection with ATT Uverse

Hi geeks I am new. I have prob. I was having ATT DSL  and as I switched to ATT Uverse I have problem to connect my T43 and T41 laptops to connect via wireless connection.
I have intelPro 2200bg wireless card(internal). I read the forums and tried evrything. Finally I went to Intel wireless card update driver website and downloaded a file. ONLY T43 got connected by wireless But on the taskbar the radio shows as Off. I wonder is it connected via my bluetooth or How  and how to SWitch ON the  radio on. I went and tried to switch on Wireless radio into ON mode???
Please help geeks , as I have to fix my T41 too to connect to the ATT Uverse. The ATT tech came and he too could not fix it. When I connect via Ethernet to the router  I get 11.97 Mbps speed but wireless connection is the problem. I downloaded, thinkvintage toolkit,  a software to  find interference form cordless phone, etc, etc nothing worked.
Somehow my T43 got wireless connection. Not sure will it connect again if I switch it off.
I know little that the WPA encryption needs something diff the WEP encryption. Because my both T41 & T43 was able to wirelessly connect to my DSL router/modem.
If someone of you can throw some  light it would be a great help else I may have to buy  flash drive wireless card but I dunt want to occupy my flash drives as they are occupied by webcam & external speaker. Dunt  like to put a flash drive hub.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Jas

    Update on T43:
After formatting with Windows 2000 setup disk,  when I used the IBM sent R&R disk I did not get the previously got "kernel_data_error BLUE system error screen. All 6 R&R original CDC got loaded into RAM and I am in the process of getting my system back to Factory State ( Just XP and IBM tools).
I would like to know is it OK to keep IBM Access Connection or Not ? I am kinda scared to remove it ; Also Since bought this T43 , now and then the Microsoft Windows auto updates did make my system from XP-Service pack 2  --> and a year ago it automatically installed Service pack 3 automatically.  I just thought to mention this thinking can this be a problem in making my 2200Bg wireless  to fail with Uverse ISP modem? as with the same setup/configurations the my wireless was able to connect using WEP key encryption to my previous AT&T DSL router.  And Uverse Router requires WSP encryption per AT&T.
Other thing I worried was can my uninstalling Spybot and then going to McAfee Sw would have caused anyproblem to make my Wireless go wrong with UVerse, bcoz once i had problem and the McAfee tech support remotely connected to my T43 and said my registry is messed up and they have to fix it to make the McAfee work Properly.
Later when i got Uverse an AT&T friendly tech suggested that i better switch to AVG instead of McAfee; as McAfee uses too much of ram and it makes the computer to act slow and that may looks like the internet connection speed is slow.
..Anyway  I am sharing these info to give as much I know thinking it may help people with same problem or the T$# geeks to think of solutions.
George, Now that i think i have made my load back to factory state and wanna see will the 2000 bg wireless will work or not before Windows starts its auto upgrade to Sv.Pk 3 version ( thinking any interference or glitch or something of that nature).
Also i am thinking of installing the new ThinkVintage tool; IS it OK?
If u get a chance please throw some light, would greatly appreciate.  I will give an update if Intelpro wireless adaptor 2000bg works with AT& T uverse transition ( from DSL).
Mean while George where to you suggest me to buy parts/upgrades for this T43 (like better modem, more RAM etc. as i think like eBay or craiglist may give better pricing but i am not sure is it risky or not to buy )
If nothing works this time i am thinking of buying flash drive wireless card form best buy - please advise.
Thank you George, I am not a computer  geek but i am happy that this forum exposed me to many smart  thinkpad users and trouble shooters. Please give advise whenever u feel u got some solutions.
    Thanks, again,
    Jas
P.S. soory if my replies are long; but i thought to give more info so that u can get bettter idea of the real problem or needs of mine

  • How to set up time capsule with att uverse

So I'm thinking about getting a time capsule for my home network. I have several apple (Macbook pro, Ipad, Iphone) products and i think it would be convennient to have. The only problem I think I will be facing is seting up the time capsule along side with my Att uverse 2wire router. So i have several questions:
    1) I have wireless receivers for my tvs that receive the signals from the main uverse 2wire modem/router. Now I read online that you can turn of the wireless router function of the main 2wire modem/router and just turn it in to a modem (from what I understood at least). So my question is if I turn of the wirless function of the main uverse 2wire router, will that affect me watching tv with the wireless recivers that uverse provided me???
    2) I know I can probably go around the issue on question 1 by putting the time capsule in to bridge mode, but will I loose any functions on the time capsule by doing so? Will accessing the hard drive be possible if its on bridge mode?.
    3) If getting a time capsule is not worth it bacause there is no way around the issues in the first two questions then is there another product that I can use that might be better for my situation?
Im no IT genius but I know my way around so I am comfertable trying to set it up I just need some guidence. Any help will be greatly appreciated it!!

So my question is if I turn of the wirless function of the main uverse 2wire router, will that affect me watching tv with the wireless recivers that uverse provided me???
The other receivers will not work if you turn off the wireless on the Uverse gateway.
I know I can probably go around the issue on question 1 by putting the time capsule in to bridge mode, but will I loose any functions on the time capsule by doing so?
The Time Capsule will need to connect to the Uverse gateway using an Etherent cable. The Time Capsule will be able to provide another wireless network when it is set up this way, but it will not be able to provide an additional Guest Network.
Will accessing the hard drive be possible if its on bridge mode?.
    Yes
If getting a time capsule is not worth it bacause there is no way around the issues in the first two questions then is there another product that I can use that might be better for my situation?
This really depends on how many Macs that you need to back up. The Time Capsule can back up multiple Macs on a network. If you don't need that type of capability, then it would be much simpler, and a lot less expensive to connect a hard drive directly to your Mac and back up the Mac that way.
Half of the cost of the Time Capsule is tied up in a wireless router, so if you don't plan to use the wireless on the Time Capsule, you will be paying for features that you do not use.

  • HP officejet Pro 8500A - problem with wireless setup switching from ATT Uverse to Verizon FiOS

I had this all-in-one printer set up and working on wireless through ATT Uverse router in one city.  just moved to another city and got Verizon FiOS.  Now when I try to set up the wireless connection, the printer will connect to the router, but my computer cannot locate the printer.  It gave a 169 IP address which doesn't seem right.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software on my computer, but when going through setup on the computer, it can't find the printer automatically or by me typing in the IP address it shows on the printer.  Not sure what I have done wrong.
    This question was solved.

It is not connected to your router (indicated by the 169.254 IP address).
Let me know the model of your FIOS router (Rev D, E, etc).

  • Macbook wont connect to uverse wifi

So I have att uverse internet in my home. We have a Macbook, iPhone, iMax, and 4 pcs. All of our pcs can access the internet. However none of my apple products will connect to the uverse internet. It just stopped connected over the last couple of days.. Any ideas of how to fix it?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communties.
From what you've reported, all signs point to a flaky Uverse router. (Probably a 2Wire unit?)
I recommend that you contact AT&T and tell them to replace it. Be polite, but insistent.
You're paying for their services, and when you can't access the service because of their flaky/faulty equipment, you're not getting ANY value from them.
I'm on AT&T for internet only, and when I signed up, I chose to purchase my own DSL modem & use my existing gigabit WiFi router based upon some unfavorable reports I'd seen about the reliability of equipment AT&T provided for 'free'.

  • Att Uverse and new Apple TV

So I just got Apple TV in the mail today.  I was all ready to see what it was all about before I realized that I didnt have the cords to make all the connections.  I do have a HDTV with 1 extra HDMI port open.  I also have ATT uverse.  I heard there was a lot of problems with Uverse.  I have TV and Internet with Uverse connected by coaxial cable.
What cords do I need?  I know I need a HDMI cable, but would I need an ethernet cable?  Would it work better being connected to ethernet? Do I need an optical digital audio cable?  Im not even sure what that is.  Thanks for help

While I have a PC, I went through exactly the same problem you are having. No matter what I did, I could not get it to see the device. After clicking on pretty much every possible link, I found a message stating iTunes could not see Apple TV because the Bonjour service was not enabled. Only problem was ... there is nowhere to enable Bonjour + searching for this word through Apple's help had no results. It wasn't until I Googled it that I found a link to download the program (which the book never mentions by the way). The link ironically leads back to Apple's site. Once downloaded, it saw it immediately and worked fine. While a Mac is configured different, it sounds like you need the Mac version of this software.

  • What router can I buy to be compatible with my ATT Uverse service?

What router can I buy to be compatible with my ATT Uverse service?I would like a fairly fast moderately priced one. My current router does not work and I prefer to own the router than rent from them.

You may purchase any router you desire, preferably a dual band, and place behind the Uverse RG in either DMZ mode for pace/2 wire products or IP Pass through for Arris/Motorola products. However you must have a Uverse RG for actual connection due to certificate authorized service.Resulting in the need for the company owned/maintained equipment fee, currently $7 per month, for new installations and repairs of existing accounts requiring the RG replacement.

  • HP Envy to ATT Uverse

We have Dell computers, with Windows 7 installed and an HP Envy printer and a Canon Selphy printer, which were connected wirelessly.   ATT Uverse was installed last week, and now we can't connect to our printers.  What do we need to do to tell the printers to go the new Uverse  box instead of the old modem and router?

    Hi Mike,
You have to pick the PSU that matches up with the PSU wattage in your PC.
The clearance between the optical drive and the PSU might get a little tight so to ease the installation you might want to pull and slide the optical drive forward until the PSU is installed.
This is not a cheap solution but viable if the 24VDC is stable.

  • ATT Uverse and TC - wireless G vs N

    Hello all,
I have the typical 2-wire ATT wireless G modem/router and recently purchased a time capsule.  I have an older house that has qutie a bit of stone, and I have found that penetration of the wireless G signal from the ATT/Uverse router has been quite poor in my home.  I've bugged ATT about this a ton, but they still claim to not offer any wireless N devices.
With the purchase of my TC, I have had the idea of perhaps creating a 2nd network with the TC that would allow me to take advantage of the wireless N connectivity thoughout my home.  Currently, I have the TC connected via an ethernet cable from the WAN connector to the 2wire modem/router.  My IT director at work suggested that I use the TC to create a separate network with the TC that broadcasts wireless N and I could "ignore" the wireless G signal this way.  However, after doing this, I am getting a double NAT warning, although both networks seem to be functioning at the moment.  However, the wireless G network oddly enough seems to have better signal at the moment.
My settings are below, but I am wondering if anyone has a good solution to my problem.  Thanks.

If in Bridge mode, I'll be using the ATT/Uverse router's wireless network but I'll be able to use the wireless N frequencies transmitted by the TC?
Your devices will actually use either one, depending on which it latches on to. The algorithm it uses takes some explaining but suffice it to say that it will be an improvement. Just be sure to specify the same exact network name and security on both the TC and 2wire. Your network will appear to be unchanged from using only the 2wire's, it will just have a larger area.
How large depends on how far apart you are willing to separate the 2wire and Time Capsule - while keeping them connected with your Ethernet cable.
As a corollary, with wireless devices capable of running at "N" speeds, will I be limited to "G" speeds because I won't be using the TC as a primary source of the network?
No. That is the advantage of the Time Capsule's simultaneous dual band feature. Its two wireless bands operate completely apart from one another, and are "bridged" or tied together in the Time Capsule.
If you have an iPad or an iPhone 5 for example, you can elect to have them use the "n" network exclusively, while older devices can continue to use the "g" network at the slower speeds they require.
