I want to move with my workflow from iViewMediaPro totally to AP2 via Annoture (hope the update coming soon), but I’m a little bit disappointed of Apple‘s IPTC management. I wonder what happens with the “people” field in IVMP (which isn’t a real IPTC field) becomes “contact” in AP2. Most of the contact infos aren’t available in AP2. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like the mapping isn’t correct. I made some tests with LR and got correct results. The IPTC standarts should be considered in every asset management program!? I don’t want to do all the keyworking process again and again.
Any solution?
P.S. now it’s possible to read more lens data, maybe in AP3 I’m able to see more IPTC data…

Ungh... let's hope we don't have to wait that long for Aperture to gain proper IPTC support.

Has anyone else lost the contact data in their favorites or in a few other apps? My whatsapp and my contact favs have been lost -- really it's theri extra infornamtion all that remains is a phone number. I have had various problems since updating iOS 7. Also, my iPhone 4s has slowed down and I had to remove some of the apps on my phone. that was alright though, I wasn't using them anyway.
Can anybody help me? I've powered down and restarted my phone several times to no avail.

Another easy way to get your contacts back:
Go to your mail settings -> icloud and turn off contacts. Your contacts should now be visible again. Note that in most cases, the contacts are not actually missing. It's just that the contacts list has an issue where it seems to have trouble displaying the contacts when multiple lists are active. Once your contacts are back, you can turn icloud contacts back on and re-merge them. Note that when you turn it off, it will give you the option to keep or delete contacts on your phone - click KEEP!

Need help overseas--lost contact data

I last synchorized my iPhone 3GS with my desktop in the US. I am in Turkey with no AT&T compatible service. Have been using iPhone as an organizer to access my contacts data. When I had to shutoff and turn on the phone I discovered that all my contact data was lost. I do not understand why. I also do not know if there is any way to restore it before going back to the US.
Appreciate any help/advice.

A backup copy on itself?... No sorry. If you do not have physical access to the data, you are stuck until you get home. Even when you return, you will have to be careful that the phone does not overwrite the data on your PC. iTunes tends to assume the copy on the phone prevails, unless you have turned off automatic sync.

Contacts lost all data suddenly.

My Contacts lost all data suddenly today. I upgraded to 10.8.2 this afternoon. Could that have caused it? Can I do to retrieve my data?

I found the hidden data file but get messge "There is no application set to open the document "AddressBook.data." and I have not been able to choose one that works.
My latest attempt was to go to ~library/Application Support/addressbook. Instuctions said to remove "AddressBook.data" and "AddressBook.data.previous" to another spot for safety, then copy "AddressBook.data.previous" back into the file. Nothing happened.
Any other ideas?

FYI in case anyone is following this:
I selected the one game I wanted to restore, I resynced. iTunes reinstalled the game but the DATA WAS NOT RESTORED.
So the question I have for APPLE: *** is the purpose of DATA BACKUP when SYNC cannot RESTORE it? Apps are backed up, data is backed up, but SYNC only restores the app. APPLE + iTUNES = CRAP.

Restore to earlier date.. lost contacts on 5s after facebook update

anyone know how to restore to an earlier date? I plugged in to restore but Itunes did an auto backup so now I have a back up of my phone with lost contacts.
Used to you could right click and pick a date but that option isnt there now.. plz help

Before you do any else, let's look to see where your contacts (mostly) reside on the Z10.
Open your Contact app.
Swipe down from the top bezel to Settings.
scroll down to turn OFF each of the Social accounts (BBM, BBM video, LinkedIn, Faceboo, and Twitter) accounts, so that you leave ONLY the email, SIM , etc. contacts ON.
Tap Back at lower left.
Now, on the contacts main screen, from the middle of the screen, pull down on the screen to reveal your TOTAL number of contacts. Keep note of that number.
Return to the settings and NOW, turn off the remaining email and SIM card contacts to NOT show.
Go back and again check the total of number of contacts.
Now, this final number is the total contacts residing "Local" on the device, not syncing with anything.
Those local contacts can be deleted in mass, and you can sync with your iCloud contacts if you like.

Let me know if you want to delete those local contacts, and I'll tell you how. See if your sync with iCloud can be setup first.

Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions! iSync is a synchronization application from Apple. If you have lost contacts from your Macbook while using iSync, have a look at the Apple iSync support pages.
If you don't find an answer from there, you can post your question to their iSync discussion board.

Help! Lost all data and contacts while Hotsync-ing

Okay - I am in idiot. I have a Treo 650 and have been having problems sync-ing it. Today I got the bright idea of deleting all my contacts and calendar on my computer and starting over. I set the phone to hotsync and after a few minutes received an error message saying that the sync-ing process was stopped. I then discovered that all contact and calendar data on my palm was eliminated. I thought I had made a backup, but just did a search on my computer (XP Home) and found no file with .aba.

The files I copied were placed in a "Copy" folder inside the Address and Datebook folders. I renamed the original files in the respective folders. I noticed that there are files that match the categories I had created for my contacts - do they need to be renamed?
As far as what happend, during the first sync it stopped early in the process and said it was "interrupted." Then I synced it again - this time telling me it couldn't find the owner and I had to select Paul. This is the sync that went almost all the way through until it told me it had a problem. So I am not sure if I synced twice or once or once and a half!
I have replaced the original cables since I had read those can be a problem. I have even tried to sync with bluetooth and bought a USB bluetooth device.
I hope that the original contact data from my SIM card is readable. Will a hard reset damage the SIM contact data?

Repeated 'ORA-12547: TNS: lost contact' messages after installing Oracle 10

I installed Oracle 10g on Redhat ES 3, and the install went well, but when I try and interact with the server I get the message:
ORA-12547: TNS: lost contact
For example, if I use the Database Configuration Assistant to attempt to create a database, I will see the above message when it begins the database creation process, or if I try to interact with the Oracle server using sqlplus I will see the above message after each command entered.
I had recently tried to install Oracle 8.1.7 on the same box, but abandoned that after deciding that the effort required to link Oracle 8 on RHES3 just wasn't worth it.
I have been told that my previous partial installation of Oracle 8 may be the cause of the problem, and have been advised to uninstall Oracle 8, uninstall Oracle 10g, and reinstall Oracle 10g. I find it hard to believe that it would require such an action to solve this problem. Are there any configuration changes I can make to resolve it?
My problem sounds like it may be similar problem to a recent posting by Hugo Ferrer - but my Spanish isn't good enough to fully understand Hugo's problem. Anyways, I am new to Oracle, so thanks for any help with this problem.

ORA-12547 tns lost contact while creating 11gr2 database using dbca

Hi All,
I am installing oracle 11gr2 rac on centos 4. Grid infrastrucure and oracle home is successfully installed.
When i try to create database using dbca during that time i am getting an error that PRCR-1079: Failed to start resource ora.racdb.db
ORA-12547: TNS lost contact.
when i check the database on node 1, Its running fine.
However its giving me an error on the second node.
on Node 1

Do you have a support.oracle.com User Account?
If yes search there for TNS-12547 and you will get a huge list of possible root causes.
Just to name a few (which you can check - also compare with your first node):
Permission oracle executable
Kernel Parameter
Environment variables
etc.etc.

Can I recover lost contacts?

A little kid wiped out my phone a little while ago probably a month but he wiped out all the data by inputting the wrong code too many times and I was able to redownload all my lost media and stuff and most of my contacts were saved. However, a few of the contacts weren't and I was wondering if its possible to recover them?

Those kids can be quite destructive when it comes to technology sometimes! Did you previously have your contacts backed up anywhere? Google, Backup Assistant, Verizon Cloud? If yes, then you should be able to recover them from there. If not, there wouldn't be a way for us to recover lost contacts.

I have lost all data on my iphone by mistake. I needed to restore the phone and I didnt realize my back-up was 1yr old, and now the phone is restored and I've got a year old contact list and iMessage chat history. Luckily my iMessage on the Mac is still valid and has all the chat history. My question is how can I restore iMessage chats on my iPhone 4 from my Mac? I have all the chat history on my Mac, but there seems to be no sync function from Mac to iphone. Please advice.

If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.

Don't worry! Everything should be back to normal if you follow these steps.

starting Oracle 11gr2 Im getting Error: ORA-03135: connection lost contact
Im on Laptop running Linux Centos 6.3 Host.
and Im running Oracle 11gr2 on Oracle Enterprise Linux in VMware (Guest).
Im having frequent disconnection after abnormal shutdown due to power failure.
When attempting login from the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control
I got Error: "Your username and/or password are invalid."

SQL*LOADER script with ORA-03135: connection lost contact error

Hello,
I got a really strange problem with a script that transfer data from a database to an other. Each day we recieve the raw data in zipped txt files, then we feed it to the database with SQL Loader. This worked fine until two weeks ago. At first, I thought the error must have been in the script, but it didn't change at all since 3 months. And the weirdest thing is that sometime it works without any problems, but now I get almost anytime the "ORA-03135: connection lost contact" and it seems to happen randomly. It never fails at the same place , thought the data I feed the script is always the same.
I'm new to SQL*Loader and since the script seems to send all the data, I don't understand where that error come from. Can I do something on my workstation or the problem is on the database server ?
I think the problem would be that the connection get a timeout out on the server, but we never got that problem on the production server and it has a lot more data to transfer then my little test script.
Have you any idea on whjat the problem could be ?
