Lost Contacts, Use iPhone to Recover?

On the assumption that Backup was setup and that .Mac Sync was turned on, my girlfriend recently lost all of her Contacts, Calendars, and Safari Bookmarks when installing Leopard. All of her other data was backed up to an external HD, however, we both assumed that the .Mac items were already saved. Obviously a pivotal learning lesson for us both, however, can we use the iPhone to recover any data?

Contacts and calendars will sync back to your PC from the phone
When you sync contacts though make sure you create at least a contact in your PC's address book so that the information will merge between PC and phone

just tried it while entering a contact and no its just the portrait keyboard.
Try using the Contacts application, not Contacts in the Phone application.

You need to delete here conversation and start another one using her phone number and not her Apple ID. You cannot delete iMessage, you can disable it. If the Apple server still sees her iPod with iMessage on and using her Apple ID, then it will continue to appear to your phone that she has iMessage. She needs to take a look at this support document about permanently disabling iMessage for her account. Can’t receive text messages on a non-Apple phone

Lost Contacts in iPhone and Address book in Mac

Hi, I'm using iPhone 3G and just today, when I finished syncing with my Mac, I lost all the contacts I have for both. Is there a way to recover all the contacts? Or is it possible to export my contacts in entourage to my Mac address book so I can sync it in my iphone as well?
Although I'm using Mac for almost a year now, I encountered this problem just now. Please help, thanks!

Welcome to the Apple community.
I can't fully tell from the information you have provided, but I suspect your duplicates resulted from having one set of contacts in your "iCloud "account and another set of contacts in your "on my Mac" account.
I further suspect that you have then deleted the contacts from your "Icloud "account, and thereby removed them from all devices. You now need to copy the contacts from your "on my Mac" account back to your "iCloud" account and delete the originals from your "on my Mac" account. You can do this by selecting groups, selecting your "on my Mac" group, and then selecting all the contacts within it and dragging them onto your "iCloud " account.
You might also take a look at this User Tip, to ensure you understand the differences between the different accounts in Address Book before adding the contacts back.

Lost contacts using iCloud

Hi guys,
At the first, I have synced the contacts to iCloud using my MacBook from iPhone4. Some months back, I deleted some of my contacts in MacBook's Address Book that were synced. But, did not deleted contacts in iPhone. I guess, Mac & iPhone got synced while in Internet and I can't figure out those deleted contacts in iPhone.
Please help to retrieve those deleted contacts!

I still remember I back up using iTunes in MacBook. I think, it was 2 months back. Is there any chances of losing apps if I restore the back up?

Lost contacts on iphone 4 and no automatic synchro anymore

I lost most of my contacts on my iphone 4.
For the other, I have phone numbers only.
Only a part of my contacts are still present in my contact list.
Another issue, when I link my iphone to my laptop, it did not synchronise as before. Any suggestion to fix this issue.
I purchased a macbook pro recently, any link between both situations ?

Lost contacts on iphone after update

Hi, My harddrive recently went ko on my laptop(no back-up). I got a new hard drive for it and downloaded itunes again. Obv had lost all my music ect. I then connected my iphone and it went about updating, which after I had lost all my contacts. Even tho I still have my message history and call history contacts are all done. Very fustrating. I went about downloading viber and could see it remembered my contacts and past messages and calls. But then after about a minute the contacts disappeared from viber. Is there any solution to getting my contacts back??

This is what I feared. Can't figure out how I let that happen, I just pluuged it in to back it up, very angry with myself. Thanks for your reply. Hows that viber remembered my contacts briefly? anyway of getting them back through viber do you know?

Lost contacts on Iphone after syncing

When I synch, some of my contacts in Outlook Express are only on my I phone. They were originally in Outlook and my phone but now they have disappeared from my Outlook on my computer? Thanks for any advice. P.S. I am not a techno strong person.. : )

I am having a similar problem. I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. Recently I (since my last sync) I had added a new email account to Outlook, however all my contacts remained the same. Today I synced my iPhone 4 with iTunes and when it was done, all of my contacts had disappeared from Outlook and my iPhone and have been replaced with just three contacts that I had added (in my phone) this past weekend. How can this happen and how can I restore my contacts? I am desperate to get them back. I saw the post here about iSync but I don't know what that is. Please help!

I just update my iOS5 on my iphone and my contacts are missing out of the iphone and MacBook Pro.
I tried a restore and nothing..... did they go to ICLOUD and how do I go to the clouds to get my contacts back?

If you go to itunes/settings/devices you should see the backup of your phone. This backup contains, among other data, also your contacts. But only if you made that backup before you synced your new contact and you did not sync the phone after that. If this is the situation, disable autosync in itunes, right click on the phone in the device list and choose restore from backup.

If you managed to do so, set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you sync your data to the phone again, to be able to get the "merge the data" message.

Did you backup your mac lately? In that case you could look for the iphone backup folder and copy it back to your HD.

How do I restore my lost contacts using icloud?

I tried turning off contacts but no msg pops up like I've read in other posts.

When you restore your phone using the settings > general > reset options, you will be given the opportunity to restore from a previous iCloud backup.

Lost Contacts, used iCloud but nothing.

Last night before I fell asleep my iphone asked me to input my icloud apple info, so I did and everything seems fine. I get a text this morning and it just shows their number. I go to my contacts and see that everything is gone. I try syncing it with itunes but nothing, I go to iCloud.com to see my contacts online and they are still there which means they are still in iCloud.
How do I get them back onto my phone then?

Windows 2012 DHCP Failover "Lost contact with partner"

We have stood up a pair of Windows 2012 DHCP servers and configured DHCP failover (in Load Balancing mode) as per the Microsoft Technet article. The two servers are on the same subnet, and time is in sync between them. Almost immediately after
configuring scopes to failover, one node loses contact with the other, and the alternate node goes to failover mode "Recover".
We have restarted both servers and services. Both DHCP servers show as available. Clicking "Replicate Failover Scopes" completes successfully with no errors, and the only two warnings in the Event Log are about credentials for Dynamic
DNS updates and a dynamic IPv6 address (which we don't use at all.)
How come they can replicate, but have "lost contact"; and how do we get the one out of "Recover" mode?

You should see Recover state only if one of the DHCP server actually went down and came back up. In this case the server which comes back up would be in Recover state but will transition to Recover_Wait state and come back to Normal after it syncs it
leases. This should be relatively quickly. Did your servers continue to remain in the Lost Contact...\Recover state for long.
Did you see any events in the DHCP Server admin channel
Microsoft\Windows\DHCP Server\Admin.
You can also enable AuditLogs (Microsoft\Windows\DHCP
Server\AuditLogs) which logs all the server to server messages. You can enable the log by right clicking on
Microsoft\Windows\DHCP Server. View->Show Analytical and Debug Logs. This will show the
Microsoft\Windows\DHCP Server\AuditLogs in event viewer. You can then right click and enable the log and see if there are any failures
being logged there.

Can I use old iPhone 4.3.3 backup for new iPad 6.1.3 to recover lost contacts?

I lost all Contacts from iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.3 when I accidentally deleted my old MobileMe email account. (Never upgraded to 5.0+). Can I sync or restore a new iPad mini 6.1.3 using an old iPhone backup through iTunes to retrieve my Contacts? Is there other way? Not on iCloud. Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and confirm that the backup completed successfully. If wi was it will say "Last Backup:" with a date and/or time at the very bottom under the "Back Up Now" button. After confirming this, do the following:
Restore your iPhone backup to your iPad Mini by connecting the iPad Mini to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your iPad Mini in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click on Restore Backup. Watch the progress bar at the top of iTunes and allow the restore process to complete. When it's done, eject it from iTunes and disconnect it from your computer.
Check the contacts and calendar on your iPad Mini to confirm that the they was successfully restored. Assuming they were, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts and Calendars to On (if they aren't already on), and choose Merge when prompted to upload the data to your account.
Go to icloud.com from your computer, sign into your iCloud account and check your contacts and calendar to confirm that they were both successfully uploaded.
Restore your iCloud backup by going to Settings>General>Reset and tapping Erase All Content and Settings. Then go through the setup screens on your iPad Mini and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup. Sign into your iCloud account, agree to the terms and conditions, then choose your most recent backup to restore to. Be sure your iPad Mini is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish. After restoring your data and settings, it will restart and begin to download your apps and other purchased media. During this process you will be prompted enter the passwords for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase this media.
When it's done restoring our iCloud backup, go to Settings>iCloud, confirm that you are signed into your iCloud account and turn Contacts and Calendars to On (if they aren't already on). Your recovered contacts and calendar should then reappear on it.
