Lost content !!!

Hi Can Someone Help?
I had a windows PC and bought content from Itunes. Some months ago my PC died completely at the blue screen of death, so I couldn't deauthorise my PC via Itunes.
Now I have an iMac and I cannot get my purchased content back. There is no way for me to authorise my iMac or play my previously purchased tunes, because they do not appear anywhere, either on my imac's itunes or on istore.....
Does anyone know how to salvage content that has not been deauthorised in the proper way?
Thanks
Trevor

*There is no way for me to authorise my iMac or play my previously purchased tunes, because they do not appear anywhere,*
Did you back the purchases up so that you could move them to another computer? They wouldn't appear unless you were to put them there. If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on the link at the bottom of this page you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

Yesterday while on WiFi at an international airport, I suddenly lost content in Safari. A window popup suggested that someone was trying to spoof setup.iCloud. After arriving home to my own network, Safari still was acting strange. Do I need to be concerned with possible malware or other destructive software remaining on my iPad?

  • TS1702 I LOST CONTENT WITHIN AN ADDRESS BOOK APP, THE APP WAS REGULARLY BACKED UP, I REMOVED THE APP FRONM MY IPHONE AND SYNCED IT BACK IN .THE APP SYNCED OK BUT THE CONTENT IS STILL MISSING

I LOST CONTENT WITHIN AN ADDRESS BOOK APP, THE APP WAS REGULARLY BACKED UP, I REMOVED THE APP FROM MY IPHONE AND SYNCED IT BACK IN .THE APP SYNCED OK BUT THE CONTENT IS STILL MISSING

That's because app content is stored in the iPhone backup, not the app. What you should have done, is first restore from backup, then sync your iTunes content...the app in question...back to your phone. That would have restored the app data. However, if you've synced, since restoring the app to your phone, the app data is gone.

  • Local folder content disappeared. How to recover the lost content?

  • Does the latest iTunes fix lost content on sync and appleTV

Just asking if iTunes lost content bug on sync (multiple devices) and appleTV has been fixed with latest version of iTunes.
We stopped using our appleTV and iTunes cause content is lost on sync.
Expect answer will be no, understand the cloud is coming so purchases won't be lost, but am weighing up if time to move to android or win7 or wait for iPhone 5 and hope it be fixed then

    Thank you very much.
    Yes this worked for me.
    Thanks again.

  • All contacts and all text messages were gone. How can i retrieve the lost contents? Pls help me.

Hi! I was browsing my facebook account when my iphone 3G restarted on its own. The apple icon appeared and when the "restarting" process was over, I lost all my installed apps, the contents of my phonebook were gone, all text meassages saved were also gone. It was as if I had a new phone again. I am really lost now and I don't know if there is a way of retrieving my contacts and my messages. Please help me if you have encountered this same problem before. This is the first time I had a problem with my phone and now everything is gone without a warning.
    Please help me. Thanks!

I upgraded to OS5 yesterday and all my contacts including names, email addresses, and phone numbers have been deleted. When I tried to revert to a previous back up, the only one was the one that was done right before I downloaded the new OS. All other previous backups were gone. In addition, I bought 40.00 worth of extra storage space to back up to iCloud and had to start it over several times before it finally worked...25 hours later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am MAD that the new OS download procedure deleted EVERYTHING in my contacts. The only thing that remains are my favorited phone numbers but none of them are labeled so I have no idea who anyone is except I sort of know where some people were on the list. This is HORRIBLE and so far I've seen hundreds of these exact kinds of posts all over the Net, not just here on the Apple website. I've done everything I could on my own and tried several things that have been suggested by other Apple users here in the forum. Nothing has worked and evidently nothing was saved to my iCloud storage, either. Now I'm having to pay for a 1pm phone call with tech support that I'm sure will cost me a freaking fortune to tell me that I'm screwed-and that'll be 75.00, please.
    yeah, Genius. Nice job Apple.

  • Help-moved Domain.sites2 file, lost content wife's site

    Hi,
This is about my wife's MAC so it is even more serious because it's my fault. I'm her IT guy but I don't know her iWeb projects very well. I helped her get started and once her site launched a year ago, all has been great and I stopped studying/learning iWeb. Now I'm in trouble.
So asked for help creating/publish multiple websites from iWeb09. (personal and work) Don't know if she'll publish as sub/site on her mobileMe or host the second site elsewhere. I read the forums this morning about iWeb's use of the Domain.site file. I read that if you move the file from it's default location (lib/app support/iweb) to another level in the Finder, then iWeb will open to a new site template and no longer default to her personal site. Okay, got it. Did it. Created a folder called "iWeb Sites" in the Library/Sites folder. Created folders for her sep sites, work / personal.
Then I moved Domain.sites2 to the new "personal" folder. Launched iWeb from there to check her site. All good - still there. Quit iWeb
Re-launched iWeb from dock, saw it create a new Domain.sites2 file in lib/app support/iWeb. I chose "New Site" in the menu. After it appeared, I deleted her Site icon (and the files under it went away). Okay, good, now this Domain.sites2 file is ready to be her new work website. Quit, and movd this Domain file from it's default (lib/app supp/iWeb to the new "work" folder.
Now the problem...(if you don't already see it coming). I went back to open her personal site to make sure it would open directly from the new "personal" folder - it's new home. It opened with NONE of her site info. Totally new site - all her content gone.
First thing I did was quit. Opened my ftp (cyberduck) went to her mobileme account and downloaded the entire "SITES" folder.
Now what? Where did I go wrong and how do I fix it?
    Thank you!

The first time you open iWeb it creates a Domain.sites2 file in :
    ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
where ~ is your Home directory.
Anything you do in iWeb is stored in that file.
When you move the file to another location, for reasons only you know, iWeb cannot find it and offers you to find the Domain file or create a new one.
You can also double click the file you moved to open it in iWeb.
iWeb will remember it the next time you open iWeb.
If you start moving files around and creating folders for whatever reason and lost track, then retrace your steps to the point where it went wrong. If in the process you created multiple copies, then open them one by one and see what's inside.
You can have multiple domain files, I have 57, for any reason you desire. They are not linked and are fully independent of each other. It's up to you how you organize these different files and remember what they are for.
If you publish the Sites in each domain file to MobileMe, then the last one published will be the default Sites. If Sites in different domain files have the same name then it is surprise, surprise which page will be deleted, updated or added on the server.
Downloading the Sites (the HomePage folder) or the Web/Sites folder (where iWeb publishes the pages) from iDisk is useless in this respect, since it does not contain anything usefull. You cannot import webpages back into iWeb.

  • Lost content of body after upgrade

Upgraded to maverics - no content in the body of mail - lost 1000's of emails - no duplicate boxes in the library - I look forward to retrieving... ahahahahhaha

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
              Envelope Index
              ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Typically, the process takes a few minutes, but it may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In that case, you may be able to speed things up by temporarily adding your home folder to the Privacy list in the Spotlight preference pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • Lost Content available for Re-Download?

Hello I have a very important question to a very silly move of mine. I used to run on an old Mac desktop and it got to the point where I needed memory and instead of backing up items from itunes, I decided to just start deleting things such as movies that required GBs of memory. I figured since they were on my itunes account as me paying for them, I could just download them later on. Well I now have a new computer and I'm looking to download that content back, is there anyway to get that content back since I'm using the same itunes account and it still shows on my history that I purchased that content?

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system or you inadvertently or deliberately delete your content. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase.
If you have your content on an iPod or have it backed up, post back and someone here can help you get things restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". Then you'll see a button that says "Email Us") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it, particularly since it was your deliberate action that removed your content.
    Good luck.

  • AppleTV/iTunes lost content.

After purchasing Bones Season 5 and watching a couple of episodes. I returned to watch a show and only 4 of the episodes where there. Checked iTunes and they were grayed out. They would not play. The files were not in the TV Shows directory (where all the others bones files where). After restarting both the AppleTV and iTunes those entries are gone like they weren't even there.
I have lost all but 4 episodes due to a sync issue after upgrading to iTunes 9.2. Is there a way to re-download content that was lost due to a sync error?

They should sync back to your sync iTunes library automatically if purchased on AppleTV, but may disappear after vieiwng if you have options to sync unwatched content checked for TV Shows.
They should however still be in iTunes. If not, I don't know why, but you would have to contact iTunes Store support and explain the issue - you can do this eitherfrom support pages (maybe over live chat), or via 'report a problem' for the entry in your itunes account Purchase History when logged in to your account settings.

  • HT2729 Lost content on factory restore.

I had to restore factory settings on my G1 Apple TV because it was not responding.  As a result, I lost purchased content that was stored there.  How do I re-download purchases without having to pay for them again?

There is a known problem with some installations of Leopard rejecting the admin password. But try this first, boot from your System install disk, but don't do an install. Instead, go to the Utilities menu bar and choose Reset Password. Reset your admin account's password.

  • Lost Content Media HELPP

Hi, i was wondering if anybody could help me, i moved house some time ago, and lost my logic content and jam pack discs, except the first jam pack disc, i still have this disc and the install disc. Now here for the nightmare scenario, i had to recentley re-install Mac OSX!!!!! so i am sure anybody can understand my predicament. Any suggestions greatley appreciated. Thankyou.

First off, I don't have space to maintain 2 separate copies of my media libraries. Maybe you do, but I don't.
Second, which computer would you suggest I sync them to? Can't sync them to any of the laptops, since they might not be there. I'm not going to sync it to my desktop because I don't want CPU cycles or network bandwidth tied up on my gaming machine streaming video.
I debated quite a bit on building another Windows box on one of my VMWare servers as an iTunes media server, but finally decided on the Mac Mini with the library on a NAS share, since I really don't use the Mac for much.
And last, you're clouding the real issue here. iTunes LOST my media library. I watched it for hours saying "Transferring Purchases", and afterward, there was nothing. There was no hardware failure in this instance. If I could re-download what Apple already knows I've purchased, there wouldn't be a real issue here and I'd be tempted to buy more from Apple.

  • Dark Knight Rises Lumia 800 - lost content, please...

Hi guys, I was wondering if any one could help me out.
I've got a Nokia Lumia 800 Dark Knight Rises edition device and had to reset it. This meant that I lost all of the exclusive ringtones, videos, wallpapers and downloadable content that was present with the device, and in the settings and about phone section it lists the phone as a standard Nokia Lumia 800, as opposed to a DKR edition one.
I thought that these extras would be baked into the ROM, so I didn't think that a full reset would wipe any of it.
Is there any chance at all that I could get this stuff back, either through flashing a Dark Knight Rises ROM onto the device, or if anyone can share the content with me on here, that would be great.
I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask any way.
Thanks for your time and help.
    Solved!

As this is a movie promotion "The Dark Knight Rises" will appear in Windows Marketplace > Nokia Collection in your region in due course. In the USA & UK it was released for the Lumia 900 last week and is now available upon 800 and 710 in UK at time of this post being tied to release of film as you can see upon this screenshot:
AFAIK this will replicate the material that was pre-loaded upon your device.
