Lost .cp file?

So here’s a weird question. Why is it that after I record and publish a project, all I’m left with is the new .swf files and not the original .cp file? Every time I publish as a .swf I loose my original .cp file and therefore can’t do any additional editing. I’ve looked through all my folders and can’t seem to find the original file. Am I missing something here? Thanks for your help.

This can happen for a variety of reasons. Where are you attempting to save the .CP file? Local PC or on a network drive? If you say Network Drive, try local PC as you will likely have much better results.
If you are using Captivate 4, see if you have a file with a .BAK extension. You may be able to recover using that. Otherwise, if using an older version, see if you have a .TMP file. Sometimes you can rename the .TMP to .CP and recover.

I was filling out a VA form 5655 in Adobe, and twice today, I lost my file and I just cannot type all of this stuff again, because I had to do so much math and typing and more math. All of a sudden "bloop", it was gone. When I try to go into file, then revert, revert is not highlighted. I tried pulling up history and it said there was no history. I filled it out directly from the blank PDF online, and never got a chance
to save the whole document. I did however save it about 1/2 way through,
but yet cannot find that 1/2 of the document either. Thanks.

Well, iCloud has nothing to do with this.

By default iWeb keeps its data in (user)/Library/Application Support/iWeb in a file named Domain. Without this file you cannot proceed (other than by recreating the site from scratch using the published version as a reference) so you need to locate it on the original disk.
To confuse matters, Apple have hidden the user’s Library folder in Lion and Mountain Lion to casual viewers, in an attempt to stop new Mac users messing their machines up. To access it, in the Finder go to the ‘Go’ menu and hold down the Option (Alt) key; the Library folder will appear as a choice.

Lost the 'file, edit' etc'task bar on the left side of my mail menu. my upper left screen reads 'welcome to lightroom moblie. I never had nor can use these. how do i back to basic LR and upper left task bar?

I have lost my 'file,edit, ...' task bar from the upper left side of my LR screen. My upper left corner now reads something about welcome to Lightroom mobile. Does the menu bar appear when you move your mouse pointer to the top of your display. If so then you could change the behavior of Lightroom via the menu Window->Screen Mode

Unfortunely, all movies and songs purchased in iTunes will be lost...you'll have to purchase them again! Any applications you've purchased, you can download again for free.
Music Rescue is a program you can use to transfer any and all data (music, movies, pictures..) from your iPod to your computer, and iTunes.

On your iMac launch iTunes and at the top next to the Apple symbol click iTunes > Preferences > Devices and tell me what you see. You last sync should be there showing only a device name. If you have an older backup it will be there as well the difference is it will be the device name with a date and time stamp. Sync and backups are two different things and there is a chance iTunes made a backup the first time you hooked up your iPhone 5.

Lost iWeb file, how can I get it from web?

I have a iWeb webiste published, but I lost the file in iWeb. Is there a way to download the page from the internet and continue to edit it with iWeb?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
As you are learning somewhat painfully, iWeb stores all data created in the application in a single file, Domain. This file, by default, is placed on your hard drive in this location.
iWeb generates html as it publishes your site; it is not possible to import published pages back into the application. You will have to copy and paste as much as possible from your pages as viewed from a browser.
Make sure to back up this file from now on. Varkgirl has given us a great little automator app which can be downloaded free here. Use this app for duplicating your Domain file for backup purposes.

If you restore from iTunes (vice iCloud) you have to have the apps in your iTunes library since they are not included in the backup.

If the upgrade to Vista somehow erased the files, you'll need to restore them from your backup or, if a feature of the country you're in, download the content again from the iTunes Store. See:

Regardless of being in development or not, "Captain Obvious" is is correct and the working .muse file is lost, meaning that you will have to start again from scratch.
All the BC will contain is the published HTML and support files, not the .muse file which you would require to recover the site design.
Might want to look into Time Machine or another automatic, timed backup source while you work.

In case we have misunderstanding, please explain a bit about the following questions:
1. Do you mean that we lost some files when we failed in the process of transferring files by Bluetooth?
2. What do you mean about the sentence ‘usb'd to a pc’?
3. Do you use the phone to connect the Bluetooth? If so, please check if you have backed up those files.
We could check the default folder of the file transfer.
As we use the Windows 8.1, we could use the File History to restore your file in the Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Desktop folders and the OneDrive files available offline on your PC.
