LOST crashes at the very beginning

Once I just move Jack in the very first steps of the "tutorial" moves (Jack goes down with the clickwheel) the game closes and the iPod returns to the games menu.
Does it happens to anyone else? Ideas?

Is your iPod updated to the latest firmware (which, I believe, is 1.2.1)?
Try resetting your iPod (if you haven't already):
First, toggle your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth a couple of times.
Then, press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
Also, if several attempts at resetting doesn't fix this issue, then you could try restoring your iPod.

IPod shuffle 4th Gen. How to start playing podcast from the very beginning once again?

Hello to everybody in this forum,
I bought a new iPod shuffle 4th Gen music player for about two weeks ago. I love this device, it works great as well as it's sound quality amazes me after Windows Mobile 6.0 Phone, Transcend MP3 and even Samsung Galaxy Ace devices use experience. It's much better and it made me got used to podcasts feature I never tried before, But if I want to replay the very same podcast item from the very beginning - I simply don't know how to rewind it back. If I press next/prev buttons it doesn't help. The podcast itself starts to play at about 5 minutes before a podcast's end as if I were listened to the whole podcast continuously from the beginning of a podcast. A podcast appears to be divided into chapters and I don't understand how to switch chaprers. Even if I did, the amount of chapters is big and it's inconvenient to swith every chapter with prev button pressed. Shuffle's manual tells me nothing on how to get things work I want it to. Any help is appreciated.

Can I download a file in different sessions or should it be in a single session? In other words can I pause the download of a file, shutdown/restart my system and then resume download from where I left off? Or will it start from the very beginning?

If a server supports resuming downloads then the download should continue where it left off. 
You can test that by simple starting a large download and wait a minute or so before pausing it. 
Then you can close and restart Firefox and see if resuming works.
You can set the pref browser.download.manager.quitBehavior to 2 on the about:config page. 
That will make Firefox ask for confirmation if you want to cancel the download if you close Firefox.

When I use youtube music it goes to the very beginning when I try to choose next song in the playlist.

Better option would be that it stays still so that I would not have to scroll to the song I am currently listening to. For example if I am listening to a song number 94 in the playlist it is irritating to scroll from the very beginning. best wishes, Ari.

I am trying to go back to the very beginning of the text message thread that goes back about two years. It just takes way to long to go back by clicking on the time and then selecting load messages. Any suggestions on how to go to the very beginning of the text conversation?

Unless it has actually been deleted just keep loading earlier messages. When it stops loading them, that will be as far back as you can go.

The startup.exe file is locate in the \NI-RT\STARTUP directory. 'cd NI-RT' then 'cd STARTUP' should get you to the right place after making the connection with ftp. I don't recognize PH_EXEC.EXE. Logging in as anonymous is fine. I don't recall seeing documentation on the file structure and locations on the module but I'm sure there is some. I just wandered around w/ftp.
The program to update the node should be below. Enter the IP address, the green light will confirm the node is found.
The version function scans the existing startup.exe for a string beginning and ending with " RU Version " and prints everything in between as the version.
The autostart function will copy the existing ni-rt.ini file to your computer, mod
ify the autostart as requested, then put the file back. Leaves the copy on the PC, which can be handy.
Send file will request a file of the format startup*.dat which will be renamed startup.exe and ftp'd to the module. Lets you keep version numbers in the filename on the PC side. Your directory structure probably won't match mine so you'll have to browse for your file.
Reboot module reboots the module.

when I reply to an email, a new window opens and the cursor is now located at the very end of the window. with all previous versions of Firefox the cursor was positioned at the very beginning of the window.

The only problem that I forsee is that some have reported problems getting machine-specific builds of Lion via Internet Recovery. Not sure if it's working yet or not. But you could give it a shot, I suppose. Basically what you want to do is 'prepare your computer for resale' - just like it came out of the box. Kappy, a pretty wonderful and very knowledgeable man, has tip for that which I have copied and will paste below:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
    1.    Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2.    After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    3.    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
    4.    Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Completely lost - Crash ALL the time

I am completely lost and really need Dreamweaver to run
without crashing all
the time...
I have websites, some newer some made with Dreamweaver MX.
Some pages can be
opened and some cannot without crashes???
I run on Windows Vista Ultimate, and also have Office 2007
installed. Have
now uninstalled Groove, tried to run Dreamweaver in XP mode,
but the crashes
are stille there.
Has it to do with some pages are made in older version of
Dreamweaver? I
never "imported" the sites on the new Vista PC, I simply
copied all
directories to the new PC...
What do I do???

It sounds like it could be an extension problem since it's
/page
related/ issue. try to disable all extension to see if that
helps.
You could also try to close DW, delete the configurations
folder and
restart DW to see if that helps. (on my XP system the folder
is located
here C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application
Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9 )

After i register my imac it just goes back to the very beginning of the registration process

I lost my password and when thru the process of the whole rm var/db/.applesetupdone thing to reset my admin password. it takes me thru the registration process but when it gets to the end it just starts over completely at the beginning of the registration process. does anyone have an suggestions?

FOP is an implementation of XSL-FO and as such has little or nothing to do with Java. I would expect to find examples in the download.

Brother 2240 only printing the very beginning of any document, help!!!

I have a Brother 2240 monochrome laser printer 3days new after my 2140 gave up the ghost. I use a wireless home network and the 2240 is connected over USB to an Airport Express. Consistently I have tried to print documents, pdfs, jpgs, pngs etc and the 2240 only prints an inch worth of the top of the page and pauses. I have the current 10.6 drivers and the printer has its latest firmware. Multiple computers on my network have had the same issue. If I clear the print queue and turn the 2240 off and on the same document will properly print. I'm at a loss on how to troubleshoot this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here. I got the 2240 too, with the latest firmware and driver (using CUPS). When USB is connected straight to the printer, it works flawlessly, but the trouble comes around when its networked through the Airport. I find that it prints the first page fine and about the first couple centimeters of the second page before it pauses the print que. Only occurres on complex print jobs (lots of graphics or even some word docs with tables and clip art). So far I've had problems printing multiple page docs from Safari, Word, & Pages.

I just purchased an iPhone, I was using my iPod touch 4generation to send pictures to my new phone. Everything was working perfectly. This morning as well I used my iPod to listen to music. By the end of the night I hit the home button on my iPod only to see it on the start up page (the one when you first activate your iPod) Is there any way I can get those photos back From my iPod some how! I do now have iCloud nor did I save anything to iTunes cause they were just photos on my iPod. Help please..

- If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. Go to iTunes>Preverences>Version and look to see if y have a bavkup of the iPod. See the restore topic of:
