Lost data on wife's tungsten E
Serious problem. Serious because I lost all my wife's data on Tungsten E. I changed her user name (why?????) which made changed name to a new user. When I went back to her original user name all data was gone. Is there anyway to retrieve this info. If there is anyone out there that has a answer to this problem please let me know. Tks, Larry

First things first, what is your desktop Windows version?
What Palm Desktop version are you using?
Be aware that DateBook5 is not a separate database application which installs a Conduit to hotsync data. It is merely an overlay (or "window) that uses the underlying Palm calendar database.
During the installation process, the program should ask whether you synchronize with the Palm Desktop or with Outlook. It seems that maybe you selected Outlook, which might be why you are seeing references to Outlook in your Hotsync Log. Do any of your contacts or calendar items appear in Outlook on your computer?
Perhaps you can post a copy (copy and paste) your entire Hotsync Log here so we can see what's going on there.
There is an Upgrade procedure which should be followed when migrating your data from an old Palm device to a new one. This thread discusses the upgrade procedure and links you to the Upgrade Guide:

Did you follow any such procedures, or simply plug your Centro into your computer and synchronize with your existing Palm Desktop installation?

I finally solved the problem I was having, although it did not involve a simple solution. Apparently there was/were corrupt files related to the syncronization and restore backup. I ended up having to restore the iphone as a "New iPhone" (It did not work by restoring from the backup). Once settings in the new iphone were set (after restoration as a new iphone), I was able to sync the information that was in my computer with the "new" iPhone. I lost text messages and app settings (since those are not in the sync options), but was able to recover all my contacts, calendar info, emails, music, videos, and applications. I restored the iPhone through itunes (connect iPhone to comp, open itunes, and in the info tab of the device press restore). After the software restoration, you need to set your wifi connection (this is optional), and enter your apple ID (no worries if you don't want to connect through iCloud, it will ask later if you want to do it or not). The iphone will ask to connect to computer and either restore as a new iphone or from a backup. I tried MANY times to restore from backup, but the iphone just went blank and did not work. Restoring as a "new" iPhone and then sync with itunes did work. Good luck with this one - it took me a long time to figure it out.

My blackberry torch will not receive emails on wifi since the latest software update, I've tried numerous wifi networks and several handsets, even had them replaced and received a brand new. Still the same problem.
When turning off the wifi network on the torch, the phone will stall for 5-10min while it tries to communicate with the network (vodafone) to receive outstanding emails and data.
Can someone please inform Blackberry and get a quick fix on thisSounds like you have Do NOt Disturb turned on.

320N Freezes when trying to transfer data over wifi
I have the 320N and I am very frusterated. I would just take it back, but I bought it brand new on Amazon.com, meaning I will have to pay shipping because I threw out the box and the return shipping form for RMA's! I don't even know if Amazon will take it back without that paperwork, but anyway here's the issue...
I don't have any N cards yet, but I upgraded to this router because my home internet service is faster than what my older WRT-54g could route. This new router does route and I can now achieve the rated speeds of my ISP (50/10 mbps).
I can transfer large files 6+ GB WIRED between any of the LAN ports on this device. However if I try to transfer much data over wifi, the router will simply stop working. The lights on the front work fine, they blink like there is activity, and the power LED is solid, but it won't pass traffic and the wifi SSID dissapears. I run a constant ping to the router (ping -t 192.168.1.1) and I get <1ms replies. On my laptop I initiate a download of a 1GB file which is shared in my windows 7 homegroup. Within a minute or two the constant ping to the router starts timing out. Internet access to anything (wired or wireless) instantly ceases. New introduced devices will not grab a DHCP address. Existing PC's whom already have their DHCP address can talk to each other only if wired. The wireless transmitter stops broadcasting the network and devices no longer see it on the airwaves. The only way to fix it is to power cycle it.
It doesn't even have to be a large file over wifi to transfer. Just now as I'm typing this post I noticed the constant ping on my other monitor started timing out. I power cycled the router in time for me to submit this post. In fact I had to do it three times in the time it took me to write this post. This is the most frustrating experience I've had with any wifi ap/router, and I play with Cisco gear at work that run real IOS.
Here's what I tried so far.
Reset factory defaults by holding in the rear reset button for over 30 seconds.
I can confirm this resets the defaults as the password and all other settings are back to default.
I tried WPA2 Personal. I tried WPA. Router still freezes.
I tried it with just the default settings. Router still freezes.
I've reset the router numerous times. Still freezes.
Power cycle it for more than a minute. Still freezes.
Reflash it with Linksys's latest firmware. Still freezes.
What do I do next? I have a feeling it's the same problem as in a lot of the HP Printer firmware boards. That problem is poor solder joints on the BGA processor connection. To fix that you put the formatter board in an oven at 400 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes. After that time you just let it cool to room temperature. The oven heats the poor solder joints enough so that it reseats and gets a better connection. There are hundreds of posts of success on this. I also hear that the solder connection problem exists for many of the older revision Xbox 360 game consoles causing the infamous "Red Ring of Death".
So do I try to fight with Amazon to take this back and eat the shipping?
Do I void my warranty, open the device up and put the board in the oven?
Do I buy another router from a closer store, but then put this one in the box and take it back?
Do I just cut my losses?
Do I just use this as a wired router (disable Wifi) and hook up my WRT-54g and make that act as just an access point?

Go to Solution.Ok I've had my replacement 320N for almost 1 full week now, and while at first it was fine, come Sunday it appears to freeze during heavy transfers. I was streaming an HD movie to the laptop connected to the TV. 3/4ths of the way through the movie it started skipping. What do you know, the whole network was down. No internet or anything. Power cycle the router and everything was back up. Needless to say, I finished the movie through the wired connection. The next day I tried copying 8GB of data wirelessly. The SSID vanished 1/3rd of the way in during the transfer.
What is wrong with this stuff? Linksys doesn't make things like they used to. This 320N is so cheaply made I don't think I could recommend it to anyone. I might see if I can send this back to Amazon and get a Netgear. -
So, during an awful visit to the Apple store in which the "genius" completely reset my Macbook Pro (10.8.5) because it decided to go "turtle mode" for no reason whatsoever, I lost all my data and files on it. After putting whatever I had backed up back on the Macbook, I put some new things on my iTunes and tried syncing the Mac's iTunes and my iPhone 5 ios7's iTunes. However my iPhone was synced to the older version of my Mac before it crashed and got wiped out. I got this message:
The iPhone “___” is synced with another iTunes library on “___”. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?
An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library.
Is there any way I can get my lost data back onto my laptop with my iPhone? Or if there isn't and I sync the new version of my Mac with the iPhone, will my iPhone lose any data to match my Mac?

I got the new iPhone5 back in Dec, I hooked it up to my computer for the 1st time this wk. It deleted all new data added since Dec (notes,contacts,texts,pics, info added to apps) and reverted back to all my old data (literally uploaded all of my old texts and 1400 old pics and deleted anything new). How can I retrieve all the lost data?? Please help!!

If all your files are missing
You may have logged in as a different user, such as Guest. Open the Users & Groups pane in System Preferences. Your name should be at the top of the user list, under Current User. See also this support article.
If files are missing from one folder
Change the Finder view mode; for example, from icon view to list view, or vice versa. -

I don't think you're on iOS 5, I think you're using iOS 6. That's the latest version.
Unless you've used iCloud to back up your documents, you won't be able to restore them. And for future reference, you don't have to uninstall Pages to update your iPad anymore. Sorry about this. -

I upgraded to the new IOS, but lost data and apps. When I try and restore the only backup I see is the one it made AFTER the lost data. How can I access an older backup from the cloud?
Why don't you talk to apple and find out if backup exists? That conversation with apple will stop your guessing.

Hi All,
We have two Planning Applications created in EPMA architecture.
Accidentally user has deleted the critical forecast data from one of the application by running the Business rule which deletes the data. The data which got delete was critical one and now user need to restore it back.
We do have latest windows file system back up taken on both Physical Hyperion Application & Essbase Servers therefore we can restore the necessary files from backup in order to restore the lost data with the help of our Storage team who handles the back ups.
Could you please advice on how do we go ahead for restoring the lost data from backed up files and which files we may need to restore from the back up.
This is an extremely urgent & critical issue we are facing hence your valuable advice is much needed as soon as possible.

If it is a case of invalid block header :
How to restore a database:
1. Stop the application/database and delete the dbname.ind file.
2. Clear non input level data using Hyperion Application Manager, DATABASE -> CLEAR DATA -> NON-INPUT BLOCKS. Then perform a full calculation of the database either using CALC ALL or if required, specific calc scripts. This may not work however as it depends on where the IBH lies in the data. If this still returns the error during the calculation then proceed to step 3.
3. Stop the application and delete the following files from your database.
This removes all the data from the database.
<dbname>.ind
ess000#.ind
ess000#.pag
<dbname>.tct
<dbname>.esm
To get the data back:
a. Do a full calc from your database from an input level export
or
b. Restore from an existing backup. If this backup does contain an IBH, then keep restoring previous backups and checking.

thank you...If backup was restored with REPLACE option or Overwrite option(in GUI) you as such cannot rollback the restore process.
Do you have any backup which is taken after you made changes to your data, or any backup which would include the data you want. If you have you can restore from that backup otherwise there is no solution.
Is this database mirrored/Logshipped/ replicated anywhere ?
