Lost data with Treo sync; .mac account possible solution?

I recently discovered that prior to July 2005, all my ical data is gone. I suspect that some setting on my Treo 650 might be the problem.
Is there the potential to find one of my older (pre-deletion) versions of ical on my .mac account?

Lisa,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
This is a hard one to solve long distant. There is potential but how much depends on unknowns (your .Mac settings, when the last sync was, etc.). You should of course make backups (File menu/Back up Database...) regularly, of all critical data.
Try making a backup now. Then go to .Mac system pref/ Advanced tab and try a reset from .Mac

    Hi all,
Can we have multiple Podcasts with the same Mac Account?
For example, I have a single .MAC account and create a website with multiple Podcast pages...or within iWeb I create multiple sites, and each has a podcast.
    Is there a problem?
    Thks

Its not possible for the same development object. Only 1 person can access an object at a time and if mutiple users modify an object new TASKs are created under the same TRANSPORT.
Only after releasing the tr you can create a new tr on the same object.

  • How to restore lost data after accidentally syncing iPhone to new computer?

So, I've been reading around the forum on the correct stepst to syncing an iPhone to a new computer in order to keep all data. Unfortunately, I only saw these discussions AFTER automatically syncing my iPhone with my new computer. So all my phone contents and settings are gone and only my apps remain, because they're still on my iTunes. My question is: is there are painless way where I can restore all my lost data (e.g. contacts, phone setting, VPNs, camera roll photos, messages, etc.) onto my phone again?

lucky you have something left. in my case, i lost my first iphone so i bought a new one and im trying to register for online support and syncing it i just lost all the data in the new phone... all i have is this emergency call on the screen...please help....

  • Time Machine Hybrid (Mac Windows) possible solutions.ro

Is it possible to create an Hybrid Net with use of Mac (MacBookPro) and PC Windows ?
    Thank you.

Let me get this straight.. You have a network using a Time Capsule.. (never Time Machine which is backup software). and you plugged a 2TB USB hard disk into the TC for media storage.
when I installed my storage device, I formatted in Journalised mode so now I think I have to format my HDD in a format available even for Windows.
No, this is not correct.. I would advise everybody plugging a disk into any Apple router to format it HFS+, ie Mac OS extended Journaled.
Windows does not read the disk directly in a network drive.. nor does the Mac for that matter. Both talk to the OS of the Time Capsule which offers clients disk space using a known network protocol.. nowadays it is always SMB for both Mac and Windows.
A Mac and a PC can store and read files equally well.. but it might not understand a file format.

  • One potential option for Windows 7 users who have lost data with iOS 4.0

Windows 7 has a feature like Timemachine on the mac. It quietly keeps backups of all files and folders whenever they change, if you have System Restore switched on. I wonder if it can be used to retrieve old versions of the Mobilesync/Backup folder before the iOS4 update? One problem with itunes is is overwrites any old backups in the Mobilesync folder when doing the installation process.
This feature in Windows is explained here:
    http://lifehacker.com/5477132/use-windows-system-restore-to-recover-individual-f iles
This maybe worth trying for those running windows 7.
Whether this will work for folks depends on a lot of assumptions on my part:
    1. ioS4 is broadly ok so the error is not there,
    2. the install process for iOS4 is ok,
    3. the restore feature is working in itunes 9.2 to install valid backups of application and user data back after installing iOS4
    4. the root cause is the backups itunes 9.2 makes are easily corrupted in certain (unknown) scenarios. Hence the objective of looking for another uncorrupted backup on your PC.

I've tried this method with my ipod now, had to leave it running overnight but I'm pleased to report this restore method works.
The only dependencies are (1) you are running a machine with windows 7 (possibly Vista someone will need to check this) (2) You sync'd your ipod any time in the weeks running up to installing iOS4. Go for the most recent backup that the OS took as a shadow copy. Obviously the more recently you did the sync the better. In my case I am going back to March data it seems, though there seems to be another backup taken the day I installed the OS - just hope its not the dud one- I will try this one next to see if its got more data.
This gets around the issue that itunes overwrites old backups. It may do but Windows (and also Macs I believe using the timemachine functionality) keep old copies of the backup files

  • Lost notes with first Sync

I had my iPhone stolen whilst on holidays and purchased a new one. As i had no laptop with me I had to activate it using the in-store Mac. As I was away for 3 months I thought it would be good to start writing a day by day Diary using the Notes Program on the iPhone.
Since being home I have sync'd the iPhone with my iTunes library and now I find that the 3 months of notes I had written have all gone!! Thinking they must have been sync onto or into iTunes I have drastically search but have come up empty.
Is there something I missed here or does iTunes simply sync in one direction and wipe all the notes on the iPhone? which I would find funny as OS X doesn't really support notes.
Can I get them back or are they lost forever (cry)

In OS X, notes are part of the mail app, there is no stand alone notes app. Have you looked in your mail app? Also, since that first sync, have you performed another sync after that first one? The reason I ask is that iphone notes are included in your phone's backup, which is the first thing done when you perform a sync. So, if you have not synced since that first sync, you may be able to recover your notes from your phone's backup by restoring your phone from that backup. They were most likely deleted from your phone when you did sync because you probably don't have any notes in your mail app.

  • Asynchronous Create Data with Generic Sync

    Hi,
We're with the follow error: data container don't loaded .. Anyone knows which is this problem?
We're using the parameter OutboundContainer.TYPE_REQUEST in OutboundContainer... MESYBODY is being deleted in a job...
For example.. We synchronize once and appears this error. Sync again and same error ... In this moment we look at R/3 and nothing. Sync again the error don't show. We look at R/3 and the data of first and second sync are create, and third too...  What's happen?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Bruno

    Hi Bruno,
I guess you have to be more specific, what is the exact error message, where do you get it, when do you get it. I assume you have written your own aplication, so paste the code where you create and sync your container etc.
    cheers

  • Connecting DVDR with HDD to Mac? Possible?

I have a Topfield 5000 Digital Settop Box which is connected to my Mac with a USB cable. Using "MPEG Streamclip" I can upload and download files to the Topfield allowing me to show video projects on the TV, and make DVDs of certain programmes etc.
A friend has a Panasonic DVD RECORDER with built in HDD; (Model DMR EH60); which has a USB connection. I've read the online manual for the device and it talks about it being connectable to "other USB devices", but it's all a bit general. MPEG Streamclip talks about being connectable to "any MPEG2 device", but again is a bit general.
My friend lives on the other side of the city and it's a bit of a trip.
So before I drive across to experiment; I'm curious to know if anyone has tried to connect a DVD Recorder with HDD to a Mac (or PC) and have you gotten the two to "talk"; allowing files to be up and down loaded.
I'm thinking it's probably not possible, that the software on the DVDR with HDD isn't designed to do it, but if you've tried it I'd like to hear back. Even if the answer is no.
    Thanks all.

    Appears it cannot be done.

  • Extra data with music sync

When I sync my iphone, I am getting more music than that which I check to be synced, I have tried several times, but I can't get rid of the extra files that are in the phone, is there any way to delete these?

Not to be evasive here, but the best way to sync your phone is always to use playlists. You control exactly what gets synced and, with the use of smart playlists, you can do things impossible to do any other way.
So the easy fix to your problem is create a playlist called "iPhone" and drag music over to it (or use a smart playlist to control what gets there, or both) and you'll never have anything other than that on your phone again.

  • BB 8900 trouble with iTunes sync - Mac

Just upgraded my memory card to 8GB, and was able to sync some of my iTunes library via PocketMac.  I tried to sync again, but now I'm getting an error thru PocketMac "Feature Unavailable: No Media Card Present." Confirmed that the BB is attached to the MacBook via USB, restarted each, no change.  Anyone have any experience with this?
    Thanks.

Try formatting the card, and try again

  • Forgotten Mac Mini---Possible solutions

Hello my mac mini users. My mac mini has been sitting in a box by itself for about 2.5 years ever since I got my macbook for college.
My mac mini = g4 1.5 ghz 1 gig of ram running tiger. I opened the box today and wondered what I could do with the device.
As a college student selling my mac mini came to mind (I could get about 150 from an online quote I got today). However I know many people use their mac minis for various tasks for music, and productivity.
Now I was thinking what I could use the mac mini for and searched online however I am not getting clear results for my specific mac mini, and in a concise form.
I was hoping to get some ideas and direction from my fellow mac min users.
How are you using your older mac minis and where did you find the directions in order to make it occur.
Message was edited by: I C

IC - I am going through exactly the same conundrum as you. Just upgraded my iMac data etc to a new iMac and in turn transferred the Mac mini to my old iMac - everybody's happy except I can;t quite bring myself to throw out the mini (I even wiped the drive and loaded it into the car for the tip once - that's how bad it's got - sad I know). Mine is a 1.25Ghz model. Re-loaded Leopard and just tried hooking it up to my 40" LCD TV, but a combination (I suspect) of graphics card and s-video connection means the picture was there, but you wouldn't want to spend much time looking at it.
I was wondering about using it in the lounge as some form of iTunes server but not sure it really warrants that - I have an Airport Express which does much the same thing. I just can't think of anything else to do with it other than accept the fact that it's a 7+ year old computer and owes me nothing. The tip beckons unless some new thinking strikes soon.

  • BSOD problems with MSI Z77A-GD80. Possible solution - enabling XMP?

    Hello all,
I have problems with BSOD. When I play game "TrackMania2 Canyon" after some time (usually 15-30 minutes) BSOD shows with these bugcheck codes: 0x4E (0x99, 0x219CD3, 0x1, 0x1620D3).
When I using other applicatons (MS Word 2010, Visual Studio 2010, AIMP3, Gom Player, Chrome, WaterFox) there is no BSOD. Also, I tried to play game "Trackmania United Forever" (older game than "TrackMania2 Canyon") and everithig is fine (no BSOD).
    On this post Leon says:

Enable XMP in the bios and put the modules in the black memory slots.
    That should work.
I've been using Corsair modules on several mainboards for some time now without issues.
I want to try enabling XMP for my RAM (it is supported by my RAM modules) to try to solve that BSOD. What I need to do? Does it only possible in OC mode or I can enable XMP in Eco or Standard mode? I do not want overclock RAM with XMP, just to set it on 1600 MHz via XMP.
I do not have any OC experinece (just teoreticaly). The best solution for me will be to enable XMP in Eco or Standard mode. If XMP only possible in OC mode I want other OC values to set like in standard mode.
I tested over 5 hours all 4 RAM modules in the same time with MemTest86+ with 3 passes without any errors.
BTW, when I logged into my Windows account, what is the most easiest way to determine in what mode Z77A-GD80 is (Eco, Standard or OC)?
Configuration (all components are brand new) of my PC is:
    MB: MSI Z77A-GD80 (MS-7757 v1.0)
BIOS: v1.0 (no newer versions available)
CPU: Intel i7-3770K with Fanless CPU cooler (NoFan CR-95C)!
    VGA: Intel HD 4000
    SSD: Samsung, 830, 256GB
    RAM: Exceleram, model EBW301A, DDR3, 4 X 4GB, 1.5V
    PSU: SeaSonic X-460 fanless
    PC case: NoFan CS-80
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64b
All drivers are the latest (I get them on September 1st 2012. from motherboard's page)
Here are pictures Memory and SPD tabs in CPU-Z.

You see, the problem is the bandwidth.
Your cpu's memory controller as stated by Intel:
Max Memory Bandwidth   25.6 GB/s (if it devide by 1000, and 25 GB/s if it devide by 1024)
DDR 1600 memory has a peak bandwidth of 12800 mb/sec, if you multiply it out then divide by 1024 you get 50 GB/sec. This is why it is hard to oc memory, it isn't the memory, it's the memory controller. Even with 1333 it is over 41 gb/sec, which why it is sometimes nessesary to overvolt the memory and or memory controller / increase the latency to run at all!.
A BETTER and more exact reason for this can be found here although it is based on DDR2. http://www.overclock.net/t/193449/memory-dividers-latencies-and-bandwidth-explained
I don't know how did you calculate 50GB/s peak bandwidth of DDR3 dual channel 4 X 4GB 1600MHz but it seems too much.
According to my calculations it is 2 X 8 X 1600 / 1024 = 25 GB/s (2 is for dual channel), witch is the value that memory controler for Intel i7-3770K was natively made for (Intel i7-3770K Memory Types: DDR3-1333/1600).
Here is specifications for Intel i7-3770K:
    http://ark.intel.com/products/65523/Intel-Core-i7-3770K-Processor-(8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz)
    I don't think that 2 kits (2 X 4GB) od DDR3 will increse bandwidth double to 2 X 25 = 50GB/s.
Here is my AIDA64's Cache & Memory Benchmark (12.5% less than theoretical maximum for DDR3 1333MHz dual channel):

  • IPod (with video) freezes Windows XP - POSSIBLE SOLUTION

    Hi everyone,
I bought a 5g 30gig iPod with video a few days ago, and immediately ran into the "iPod freezes Windows when connected via USB 2.0" problem. I read through every possible post on this website, on iLounge, on Microsoft's forums, etc. There seems to be quite a substantial number of people running into this problem, because I've been seeing posts about this all over the place.
My specific problem was that whenever I plugged in my iPod, the iPod would display "do not disconnect" and iTunes would begin to recognize it - sometimes it would reach the point where it would begin to update - and then the computer would completely freeze. The iPod would "disconnect" and be completely usable, but the computer would not respond to anything what-so-ever. I had to perform a hard restart to get the computer usable again. No error messages, no "ctrl-alt-del" saves, nothing. It would also lock in the same exact way if I just plugged the iPod in without starting iTunes (iTunes wouldn't automatically start, computer would just lock up after a few moments).
Anyway, my problem was solved through a procedure I saw in a post somewhere (I'm pretty sure it was on these forums, actually). Basically, it seems as though there is some sort of conflict between iTunes, Quicktime, and Symantec's anti-virus.
The process is pretty simple - completely turn off whatever version of Symantec you're using (Norton AntiVirus, Firewall, whatever... I'm running Symantec Corporate AntiVirus 10). Then, uninstall Quicktime and iTunes (it might not be absolutely necessary to completely uninstall iTunes - I uninstalled Quicktime and then "repaired" the iTunes installation).
This seemed to resolve the situation entirely - I've updated my iPod three times now, and charged it, with no problems. Hopefully this continue to work... !
Incidentally, I think it's disgusting that this seems to be such a prevalent problem, yet Apple so far refuses to acknowlege its existence, much less provide a solution. As a long-time Windows/Microsoft user (notice I didn't say 'fan'), I expected much more from Apple.
    Anyway, good luck!

    Hi!
I have the same problem, though using iPod Touch.
My PC crashes just after charging sound on th iPod sounds.
I can be loggen on or not.
I have tried the 5R's two times
    I have removed SP3, didn't help.
I have updated to iTunes 8.0.1: Didn't help.
But I have an portable PC (job PC) where it is working fine, both PC's using XP Pro, english version.
So, just now, I am very dissapointed bu the Apple products (and it took me 20 years of Software Engineering before i bought something from Apple ..... )
So the stress test will be: Will Apple do anything with this ?
