Lost desktop info after installing Ver 6.2, sych would not update PC

The Win7 64 drivers are a good thing, syncs fine! THX!
After installing Desktop 6.2 all my desktop data gets gone except the media files. I had no way of importing backup files so I had to revert back to using Ver 4.2. Is there some trick to using the latest SW? The TX is using HotSync Ver 5.4.8P. Appreciate any help. Thanks

This data loss issue has been reported to the developer of PD 6.2. Palm/HP, is/are not the owners of the software. The known causes are leaving Palm Desktop open when a Windows update occurs or leaving PD open when shutting down the PC.
There is no way to prevent the loss other than exporting your data on a per data change basis. The best option is to revert back to a previous version of PD as you have done.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a separate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

I can't help thinking you may need to reinstall Mavericks. Most people (>99%) aren't having these issues! If you count the number of problem posts, then divide by millions, you'll see what I mean.
I'm fairly certain the Gutenprint drivers support your 560 (can't know for sure because you didn't give the whole model name).

For the Epson, (which I have 3 of) it is not possible to pinpoint what the issue is (printer or Mac), until you get it printing.
Part of what Resetting the Printing System does is restart the CUPS daemon, which re-creates the index of where to find each driver. So try Resetting the Printing System:

i guess you could put the aiport utility app on your iphone, click on the aiport express there, it will show you how many devices are connected to it and the mac addresses of those devices.

They are probably dependant on other services, try delaying the startup of these services and see. I have it with one of my servers as well but since CU2. if i set the services to delayed then they start correctly.

Lens profiles are file type-specific, meaning you must have a Raw Lens Profile for a Raw file and a Jpeg Lens Profile for a Jpeg file. If you only have one lens profile installed on your system, it won't work for both types of files.
Double check to make certain that this isn't the issue.
