Lost DHCP list in Airport Utility

After MacBook Pro to iMac synchronization I lost the TC configuration in Airport Utility. When open the Airport Utility the field DHCP in "Internet configuration" in empty and I cannot put any value because it is read only.
Do you have an idea which file contain this information where I put the value manually?

There's no file where you can put Time Capsule configuration information. You have to use AirPort Utility.

Back to my Mac, NAT, CTU setup, Airport Utility

I've used Back to my Mac from home to access my iMac at the office in the past, but after the Yosemite update, I am not seeing "Shared" listed in the SideBar of Finder Windows anymore, and I also get the following warning in System Preferences > iCloud > Back to My Mac:
Set up router for better performance.
Clicking "Details" yields this message:
Back to My Mac may be slow because NAT Port Mapping (NAT-PMP) or Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is turned off on your router.
Let me explain my router setup
My iMac at home is connected to the internet via fiber optic line here in Japan. The fiber cable comes from the wall to a white plastic NTT box that has 4 green LED lights, the only one of which that blinks is labeled UNI. That box is the Ｂフレッツ ONU shown on this WIKI page:

The Fiber cable form the wall goes INTO that ONU, and then there's an Ethernet cable that goes OUT of it into the WAN port of another NTT box with a black front-face, Model 2004WS, which is called a "CTU" and which I assume is the actual "Router" in my setup. I then have an ethernet cable going between the LAN1 port of that CTU and the WAN port on my Airport Extreme Base Station (the WAN port on my Airport Extreme has what looks to be a sun-shine icon). Another Ethernet cable goes out of my CTU at the LAN4 port and leads into a dark blue VOIP Adapter box. And the LAN3 output of my CTU leads into an Ethernet Hub, from which I connect my iMac and SE/30 (yes, that vintage Mac can connect to the internet!). (My iPad connects wirelessly.)

If I open Airport Utility 6.3.4, click the Airport Extreme icon, then click the Edit button, within the Network tab, I see the "Router Mode" is Off (Bridge Mode).
When I launch Network Utility and click Traceroute and type "icloud.com" and click the Trace button, Line 2 shows three asterisks " * * * ". That seems to be saying that I DO NOT have a "Multiple NAT configuration," as per this:

I can log into my CTU via Safari using the following URL:

At left there is a button named "詳細設定" which means "Advanced Settings." Clicking that button shows me various settings, and I can see that this CTU is acting as the DHCP Router, and that UPnP is enabled. There is no mention of "NAT" at all, so I assume that NAT is OFF on this CTU.
The following Apple Support article is suggesting that to resolve Back to My Mac issues, I would need to change the "Router Mode" from "Off / Bridged" to "DHCP and NAT":

But since my CTU is already acting as the DHCP server, wouldn't changing the Airport Extreme Router Mode from Off/Bridge to DHCP wreak havoc on my setup?
What should I do?

P.S. I also have a Brother Laser printer MFC-7840W that connects wirelessly via the Airport Extreme, and in the Network tab of Airport Utility "Timed Access Control" is enabled and that printed (wireless client) is enabled. It took me a heck of a long time to figure out how to get that printer to work wirelessly, so I don't want to mess it up and no longer be able to print if I switch from Off/Bridged to DHCP and NAT.

There are a number of reports of BTMM not working any longer with Yosemite. Apple's solution so called is hugely simplistic.. and it doesn't help for most people.
Since it worked before Yosemite and fails to work with Yosemite.. the issue is very clear.. Yosemite has the worst networking of any Apple OS release yet.
Your setup of the Airport is completely irrelevant.
And if the CTU is not working .. i think your best strategy is to go back to a working OS.. Apple have a lot more bug killing to do before Yosemite should see the light of day.
You can still connect manually.. if you have somebody in your office or it is accessible to you .. then you can open port 548 and directly link. BTMM is just an automated system.. a no hassles.. no fuss system.. which is great when it works but is otherwise completely useless when broken.
BTW does your iCloud access still work??

Time Machine, AirPort Utility, and Time Capsule broken in Mavericks?

Hi all, I’ve got a befuddling Time Machine/Time Capsule/Airport problem that I can’t seem to sort out.
On my pristine 2-day-old iMac (late 2013, running 10.9.1), I’m trying to set up Time Machine to back up to a new-ish 3TB Time Capsule. Initially it worked fine for the first backup, but subsequent backups failed because “backup disk could not be found.”
So I tried giving the TC a shorter name. The first backup under the new name worked a treat, but subsequent backups failed.
In Time Machine system pref pane, I deleted the Time Capsule, intending to try again with a new, even shorter name. But then when I went into AirPort Utility to change the Time Capsule name, it told me that “no configured AirPort base stations have been found.” I assumed that I was just deleting it as a choice on the backup disk list, but now I'm wondering, did the Time Machine pref actually delete the actual disk? In the AirPort Utility window, Time Capsule appears in the "other wi-fi" devices list, yet when I click it, it says "error reading settings."
Here are some other random details that may or may not pertain:

Rather than chop up your post I have taken the liberty to number the points.
1. When you deleted the TC in the airport utility you simply changed its ability to display the errant device. You did not actually delete anything on the TC itself.
Getting back a lost Airport.. more below.
2. Please give actual command you used.. and the name..
It is most important that you translate the name from Apple name to actual network name. That is why I constantly hammer on about using network names.. short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
So Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule apart from being hopelessly wrong.
Is translated by Apple to the Network name.. Fred-Blogs-Airport-Time-Capsule (note.. no spaces and no special characters.. the apostrophe is deleted).
It can be much easier to just use IP address.. if the TC is the main router.. then it will hold a constant IP.. by default 10.0.1.1
So mount the TC as AFP://10.0.1.1
3. That is standard.. it is a network device and will not show info. Same on any computer in your network.. same on any OS.
4. Yes, that is standard.. the location of the hard disk is lost.. but the internet is still working.. This is the bug that has been around since Lion and is still growing worse with each revision.
5. Again standard. the issue is on the computer or the interaction of the two.. computer and TC.. yet other computers are unaffected.
6. Reset of the TC is fine.. no reset, soft hard or factory will ever delete the hard disk files.
But if you change the name of the TC, you will need to go around to all the computers and setup TM again to point to the right target.. none of the backups are lost.. you just need to tell TM where they got to.
Manual setup of the lost TC.
In Airport utility go to the top menu, open configure other.. and type in the IP address of the TC that got lost.
no password needed unless you set something .. if it doesn't work the default is public

Airport Utility cannot find all 802.11n gigabit sase stations

hello everyone,
airport utility (5.2.1, "Airport-Dienstprogramm" in german does not seem to find all my base stations (6 stations alltogether, IPs assigned ok via DHCP, pingable, usable, green light, no errors, manageable by Airport Utility via manual IP entry) in the list to the left of the main screen. Mostly they are not shown at all, sometimes (or after I manually managed one) they are in the list until Airport Utility is restarted.
SNMP is on, I tried a new cummunity string but reverted back to "public" just to make sure.
Is there a way to manually fill the list and then "save" that list somehow so that I can do a quick check on the status?

Are you using the latest version (5.5.2) of the AirPort Utility to access the new 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn)? Your tagline has it that you are running OS X 10.4.6. You would need at least 10.5.7 to run the utility. I assume that you are running the latest utility on another device ... correct?
When having difficulties accessing the AirPort thru the AirPort Utility, try the following, in order checking accessibility with the utility after each step:
o Check the local connection. If you are trying to access the AirPort wirelessly, make sure that you are connected to its wireless network before running the AirPort Utility to administer it. If you are still unable to access it with the utility, temporarily connect your computer directly using an Ethernet cable to one of the base station's LAN ports.
o Power cycle the base station. Remove the power adapter's plug from the power outlet, and then, wait 15 seconds before plugging it back in.
o Perform a "factory default" reset on the base station.

Airport utility can not find extreme station after upgrade to 7.5.2

i been using extreme for about 3 years and it was fine until yesterday i upgrade to 7.5.2, it result i lost the internet. opened airport utility from my macbook, said" it can not find any wireless device" but on the top right of mac windows, the signal sign is still there,
i suspect it is something wrong with the IP setting, but i has't changed any thing myself, maybe the new updates change it?

Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Your system details don't mention what type of Mac you have, but if you can move it near to the AirPort Extreme and connect an Ethernet cable to a LAN port on the Extreme, then AirPort Utility should be able to see it. Once AirPort Utility can see it you can begin to investigate the problem in more detail.

HT5022 Instructions for Airport Utility 5.6 don't work: "version of Mac OS X is not supported"

Via Software Update, I just downloaded & installed the latest version 6.1 of Airport Utility. When I tried to use it I discovered it recognizes but doesn't support my Airport Expresses (odd in itself).
I was told to install version 5.6 to manage these older devices. So I obediently tried to install it (actually it's v. 5.6.1).
But it won't install! The Installer tells me:
"AirPort Utility can't be installed on this disk. The version of Mac OS X on this volume is not supported."
The system requirements are listed as "AirPort Utility requires Mac OS X v10.5.7, v10.5.8, v10.6 or later." I have 10.7.4.
What the heck is going on here????

Try this one until they fix it:
AirPort Utility 5.6 for Lion: AirPort Utility 5.6.
If that does not work:
AirPort Utility for Leopard, Snow Leopard: AirPort Utility 5.5.3.
Both will run fine on OS X 10.7.4 but since I already have them installed, I do not know if the installer will object. Both will administer all Express models except for the new dual band model.

AirPort Utility 6.0 DHCP client table?

I just started using the 6.0 version of the AirPort utility. It's fancy with pictures and all . . . but . . .
How do I get to a list of the DHCP clients? It eludes me. In the last version (5.6 I believe), I would select my main AirPort and get into the client table in its settings. Now, though, I see a list of the DHCP addresses in use, but it's not listing them all, nor do I see the one that usually gives me trouble.
It looks like my AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule are both running firmware version 7.6; it looks like I can update that but I haven't wanted to disrupt the network yet.
I have a D-Link wireless camera connected which points at the dog kennel outside; whenever I mess with the network it gets a new IP address. I'm accustomed to looking in the table to find where it is, but now it appears I have no table.
Should I revert to 5.6 for that information? I can't find anything in the Help data on DHCP clients.

I still can't figure out what the deal is with my Time Capsule. It will occasionally (maybe every 3 days or so) lose its connection to the network and get a yellow light. If I reboot the main AirPort Extreme, the connection is re-established.
At least now I have an IP reservation for it, so I can always just pull up the camera without having to search for its IP address, but the fact that the network breaks up every so often is quite annoying.
Any ideas? I guess I could start a new thread about My Time Capsule Loses Its Mind, Help, but this discussion seems like the right place.

My time capsule will allow only one machine to connect to the internet at a time. Connection sharing is "off" on the Airport Utility. When I try to share an IP address I get the message that "DHCP range that I entered conflicts with the WAN IP address" I

Suddenly, my time capsule will not allow more than one computer to connect to the internet at a time. On the Airport Utility on the internet tab, Connection Sharing is "Off (Bridge Mode)" When I try to change it to sharing an IP address, I get two messages that the beginning and ending DHCP addresses that the DHCP addresses I've entered conflict with the WAN address of my Apple wireless device."

I use a DSL to connect to the internet. The modem is a Westell C90-810030-06. Two things happened in connection with the fail. I upgraded the firmware in both my Time Capsule (connected to the DSL) and the Airport Extreme (connected to my printer--used to extend the network). I also upgraded my Colof Nook to the Android Faux Tablet version. I can't imagine that that is creating some sort of mismatch.
I have now downgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule to 7.4.1 which is what I had before. Fortunately, I found the trick to downloading the older airport utility to find the older firmware. All the older versions disappeared from my computers.
I still have the same problem. Wifi works fine. If a second device connects to the wifi, then it works fine, but the first no longer has a connection.
And my Airport Extreme is not working at all. It cannot be seen by the computer. I tried resetting it. I'm going to connect it by ethernet and downgrade the firmware on it.
I appreciate any help. This is so frustrating.

How do I get list of client IP Addresses using new Airport Utility v6.3?

I have purchased and Airport Time Capsule 3TB (newest model). Previous models were still compatible with Airport Utility 5.6 and I could use "manual" mode to get a list of client IP addresses attached to the device. The new Airport Time Capsule is only compatible with Airport Utility 6.3 and I cannot figure out how to get a list of client IP addresses with this new model. Does anyone know how to do this?

Try a ping broadcast - for example if your network were 192.168.1.xxx (netmask of 255.255.255.0) try this from a Termnal.app window (located in /Applications/Utilities):
ping 192.168.1.255
If you have a different type netmask, you need to put 255's where the 0's are in your netmask.
Everyone on the local network (the 192.168.1.xxx network) should reply that is up and running unless you have them setup to not respond to pings (the WAN port on your TC should not reply cause it's in a different network) and you have your list of clients on the network. If you setup the TC to dedicate a range of addresses for WiFi clients you can even identify which of them are wired and which are wireless.

Hi, I am trying to connect a WD Mybook for Mac to my airport/time machine device. On the AirPort Utility it listed under Disks at 0 Mb. I enabled file sharing. But nothing happens. If I plug it directly into my MacBook it works fine. How do I fix it?

I assume that you are using Mac operating system 10.4.11, as your profile indicates.
The instructions that you referenced are for use with AirPort Utility....not AirPort Admin Utility.
Suggest that you download and install AirPort Utility 5.4.2 for Mac , which will run on 10.4.11.
Also noticed that the instructions do not tell you that the hard drive should be formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) to work with the AirPort Extreme, but they should.

Lost connection to one of my Airport express units. Serial number 44500WQV0. Message in Airport Utility is to use Version 5.6 to configure base station. I have version 6.3.1. Both airport express units bought at same time few years ago.

You can use the following workaround to install AirPort Utility 5.6 on a Lion or Mountain Lion Mac:
Be sure to read the caveats at the end.
Lion / Mountain Lion's package installer will refuse to install superseded versions of AirPort Utility. Instead you will need to use a package extractor such as Pacifist or unpkg. Pacifist is shareware, unpkg is free.

Download AirPort Utility 5.6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
When the AirPort Utility .dmg file finishes downloading, open it to expand and reveal the AirPortUtility56.pkg package installer file.
Directions for Pacifist (I do not have screenshots for unpkg but the idea is similar):
Open Pacifist and from its File menu, navigate to the package and open it.
Click the "reveal triangles" until you see AirPort Utility 5.6.app:
Select it and then click Install from Pacifist's toolbar. It will then be installed in your Utilities folder, and you can quit Pacifist.
The most recent version of AirPort Utility included with Mountain Lion should be used to configure 802.11n - capable AirPort Base Stations. Make no attempt to delete it. It and the older version (which will bear the unique name "AirPort Utility 5.6") can peacefully coexist. Use the older version only as necessary for older AirPort Base Stations that cannot be administered any other way.
If you happen to have an archived copy of the AU 5.6 app somewhere, such as a Time Machine backup or equivalent, you can simply restore it or drag the app to your Mountain Lion system's Utilities folder instead of resorting to the above procedure. It will run without complaint. It is only the package installer that is the problem.
Keep in mind that Apple's decision to abandon support for the original AirPort Express and AEBS was for reasons known only to them. Remember that you are using obsolete equipment, should some future OS X feature not work for you.

Airport not listed in Airport Admin Utility

My Airport Extreme not listed in Airport Admin Utility, but sometime it re-appear after reboot. I have no problem connecting to the Internet both wired and wireless even through Airport Admin Utility does not show a Airport Extreme. I can also access the Airport Extreme if I type in the IP address and the password. The problem is that when it does not show up, I cannot print via Bonjour. Did anybody have similar problem and way to resolve it? I have a iMac (wired) and a Powerbook (wireless) connect to the Airport Extreme. Thanks

Erasing the Time Capsule's internal HDD, via the AirPort Utility, will NOT affect the TC's configuration settings. However, if your intent is to completely remove these settings as well, you will want to perform a "factory default" reset on the TC to do so.
If you first export the configuration, you can always import it back in after the reset to get you back up and running quickly.

Lost airport utility,but have internet

I deleted some files/applications and now my airport utility comes up blank, just the rescan key and when I try that, nothing is found and all other keys are not highlighted so I can't make any progress, any help would be appreciated. I bought my mac pro in march2011

With cable modem which has been pre-configure for you (you don't get a user ID and password), you just set the AEBS to Ethernet mode and then set configuration to DHCP.
Restart AEBS, when you go back to Aiport Utility > Internet pane, your IP, router, DNS addresses should have all been set.
