Lost disc/reinstall DESIGN STANDARD CS5.5

I imagine this is answered somewhere, but I’m having difficulty finding it.
My hard drive crashed. Need to reinstall DESIGN STANDARD CS5.5 MAC.
Have serial number, but not the disc. Unfortunately, I am living in another country and the disc is sitting in storage.

I've downloaded the mac version but when I tried to install it, this message appeared:
Warning - The following disk images couldn't be opened - Reason: image not recognized.

The dmg file has become corrupt you need to download or copy another image file from backup.

No, I am saying the three programs that you want to use in the suite, if you are planning on using all three programs (at the same time) then it is possible your system could slow down, then a RAM upgrade will help. Give it a try it may work out okay.
Yes, I know how to backup separate things on to another external hard drive. Just connect the hard drive make sure it is formatted for use as a Mac hard drive. Open disk utility and click on the hard drive at the bottom of the window it will show you the partition map scheme, it should be GUID Partition Table. If not then you should format the hard drive but clicking the erase tab and the selecting Mac OS Extended (journaled) from the format drop down box. If you are going to use the drive to transfer files from Mac to PC then you should select MS-DOS (FAT) the only problem with this format you will not be able to copy file larger then 4GB. Then just open the find and drag and drop folders and files to the external hard drive.

if you have a download problem (eg, you see an error page or you are offered an incorrect version), you probably didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that (a restrictive browser setting) is another potential source of problems.

The error that I'm getting is "Install can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." also below that is "install is on the disk image design standard_CS5_5_LS1.dmg. Safari downloaded this disk image yesterday at 11:14 am from helpx.adobe.com"

How cann I now swap platforms for Adobe Design Standard CS5.5? Do I realy need to buy CS6? Or afer dowloading the mac version of CS5.5 I get the key. And if I realy need upgreade the CS5.5 cann I use the Mac version of CS6 for the dowloaded mac version of CS5.5? Is it possible?

So I have only to buy the CS6 Mac versions and upgrade CS5.5 Win to CS6 Mac?

Switched from Adobe Design Standard (CS5)to Adobe CS6/ intro rate $29.99 -EXP. ISSUES. .

I recently called Adobe to switch over from Adobe Design Standard Subscription (CS5) to the CS6 Adobe Cloud subscription for the intro rate of $29.99.
Ever since then I've been getting prompts such as:
Unable to validate your Adobe Muse subscription: We haven't been able to validate your Adobe Muse subscription for some time. Please connect to the Internet in order to continue using Adobe Muse.
I have had consistent daily access to the internet so I do not understand why this window/prompt continues to appear when I open MUSE. Well it used to. Now I'm unable to use Muse.
I recieved an e-mail saying my Adobe subscription has been downgraded and I'm also wondering what that means? Is it for my CS6 cloud subscription or for my older CS5.5 subscription which also appears on my account details page as Adobe Cloud 1 - year Subscription.

I also have had the exact same expereince, down to every detail you mentioned including the email execpt that I switched from the full price cloud subscritption (which I pre-signed up for) to the discounted price which I was informed I was approved for after the first payment was already taken..
So far photoshop and Illustrator seem to be fine. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Muse from the Application manager. Help!

habe folgendes Problem:
Indesign stürzt ab und zwar in 90% der Fälle, dass ich "bearbeiten-Rückgängig" bzw. Ctrl-z betätige.
Nun möchte ich zunächst mal evtl fällige Updates installieren. Bekomme aber stets folgende Fehlermeldung:

Also weder Updates noch Absturz-Problem gelöst...Hoffe, hier kann jemand helfen.

Kann Dein Problem völlig verstehen...
Investiere seit über 20 jahren in die Software.....die Suiten Abos wurden mit der Aussicht auf unbegrenzte updates verkauft!!
Dann kamen neue Suiten...dann kam die Cloud (ich musste damals Kredit aufnehmen um anfangen zu können, da Adobe schon damals in der Industrie konkurenzlos war und man nur kaufen konnte)....Mittlerweile gibt es keine updates mehr, mit Glück darf man dann upgraden, aber die Default setting ist automatisch auf Cloud, jetzt hat jeder mit 50 € im Monat sämtliche updates und Software zur Verfügung...und wir mit unseren älteren Verträgen werden als veraltet und überholt abgestempelt.
(ich habe auch schon agressives marketing betrieben....dies ist aber sehr grenzwertig....in internationalen Foren wird schon zum Boykott aufgerufen, Du bist also nicht allein mit Deiner Frustration)
Hatte das crashen auch schon, vor Allem nach längerem Arbeiten an docs. und über shortcuts oder über bearbeiten scrollbar, stürtzte das Programm up (denglish muss sein)....mir hat dann nur geholfen auf restart zu gehen und dann ging es wieder für ein paar Stunden....

How to install Design standard CS5.5 without a disc?

So I just got off a chat with customer support and they told me I have to pay to upgrade because I don't have the disc anymore, great right I paid a few hundred dollars for a program right before cs6 came out and nope can't download it anymore.
So I'm told to go here if I want to install it

Which I was told is a direct download but it isn't I have to download a trial version, then load up the cs5.5 then contact support again to have them remove my broken computers from the activation list or whatever they call it.
Or I can pay more money for something I don't need.
In all honesty it seems more beneficial to just download a cracked copy then have to jump threw all these hoops to get something I paid for, which to people saying I won't get support with a cracked/hacked copy customer support said they don't give support for older versions.

While this was helpful, I was able to download / instal cs6 without issue in less than 5 minutes (including download time).
I asked support chat to free up the activations but was responded with "this chat session has been closed".
I'm marking your post as correct as it is correct, but it is not the most streamlighted / customer friendly way.
I got 20mb's into the cs5.5(standard) download while I fully installed cs6(master collection) by clicking 3 buttons, kind of stupid if you ask me.
I know that software eventually is outdated, but for a big company like adobe to be able to have a direct download / instal on their website for a product a customer paid for should be a no brainer.
I purchased this product 1 month before cs6 came out, so the month after I purchased it I basically lost the ability for direct download / apparently adobe support besides the forums (this is quoted from the live chat).

Need help reinstalling Design Premium CS5.5

ASUS wiped my hard drive clean when sent CPU back for repair. Adobe product is registered. No reference online to previous order with link to download. Tried downloading installer for CS5.5 yet after download, it won't open. How do I get my software back on my computer?

If you purchased a download then your only option is to download again. Since you appear to have downloaded something, what actions are you taking and what happens that you describe as "it won't open"?
You probably want to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations. If you don't still have an extra one, then you will afterwards, and in the least you will have the one used for the lost installation freed up. Do not asjk them for more help than that though or they will likely refuse any help and send you back here.
