Lost Download: Error -208

Hi,
I bought only my 2nd iTunes album and had issues. At first 4 cuts failed to download giving me the -208 error code. They remained in my "download" column and I was able to after repeated attempts (like 50!) to get 3 of them. I figured I get the last one eventually but it has disappeared from my download folder.
Anyway to contact APPLE via email to get it resolved? After a while clicking buttons I'm weary of searching and a long day of work so please help.
Also is this common? I'm just getting into this thing and and hesitant to spend money for partial products or hassles to get completely.
Thanks,
Whatrix

The 208 error has been previously attributed to an authorization. I would recommend deauthorizing your account, downloading the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime, and then reauthorizing.
Should you have further I pulled the following link from the iTunes Store support site. Just fill out the information at the bottom and they should get back to you within 24 hours. If you are missing a track, be sure to include the track name and web order number in your submission.

  • Help please, download error

I've had a creative cloud membership for a months now, on my mac and pc. All working fine.
Then i decided that i didn't need cs4 collection on my mac anymore, so unistalled it using the correct unistall software. Once this was completed Photoshop cs6 said it had lost files and couldn't work anymore. Then indesign crashed and wouldn't start.
I thought this was very weird, so decided to unistall all of cs6 and install it again. But when i came to install sc6, it let my sign in and download the application manager. But then i try to sign into the application manager and it just says Download error. I've been through and tested all the downloading issues with adobe links and they are all fine. I can still log in through my browser with my ID. The software still works fine on the pc. I have tried using download assistant to install software, but when it gets to the sign in or trail section. I try to sign in and it comes up with an error and can't find my subscription.
This is very annoying, please does anyone know a solution?
p.s i am running all the lastest software on a macbook pro.

Go to below mentioned folders Location
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE      rename the OOBE folder to OOBE_old
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE      rename the OOBE folder to OOBE_old
after renaming the folder try to reinstall Adobe Application manager it should work now.
you can download the Adobe Application manager from : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774

  • Does anyone know what error 208 is?

I'm trying to download the last 2 tracks from the Killers new album and I keep on getting error .208 coming up. How do I sort this out? It's driving me nuts!! lol!

the most common cause of a -208 is a bug in itunes version 6.0.0.18. if you've got a 6.0.0.18 (to check, go "help > about itunes", and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen), try upgrading to 6.0.5.20, or 7.0.1.8.
if you don't have a 6.0.0.18, then the next most common cause is a damaged itunes configuration file. although the following document is on a different problem, try the rebuild technique from that document to see if it helps:

  • Itunes error. Download error. tap to retry

I recently bought Inception on my Ipod touch and it went through processing but once it came to downloading it came with the message "download error. tap to retry" I've done it off and on for 3 days and nothing works. Please help.

I can't confirm the 12 days part, but what I did find out is that the 3 songs I got did not appear as purchased items on my Apple ID I used for purchased, almost as if that connection was lost whenever I got the files (even if free from an iTunes promotion). The media files were on my OS X iTunes and I could transfer them to the phone, but I strongly believe because they are not attached to my Apple ID, and the download was interrupted somehow on the phone, that they appear as "not able to download".
I would guess if Apple added these 3 songs to my purchased list it would go away - but I do not know if they could even do that without probably knowing some ID that would like it to the exact song to add.
I tried a "reset all network settings" as the last resort before hanging up with an Apple tech (who was also not sure on how to solve). This did not work. Since this is not hampering my use of the phone, I will solve it some other day, perhaps when I next visit an Apple store and show them, maybe they would be interested in this scenario.
For now, I think I would have to factory reset the whole phone to get rid of them.

  • ITunes download error, tap to retry

I purchased some songs from iTunes, and all except 3 downloaded just fine. 3 songs keep coming up "Download error, tap to retry". I have tried numerous times to retry the download, but keep getting the error message. I cannot select and delete the downloads, either. Subsequent downloads are working fine. How can I get rid of these 3 downloads?

  • Trouble with with a error 208

I am trying to download from the itune store but my download is interrupted and I get a error 208. Please help

Well, I am using OS X 10.3.7, so maybe that makes a difference, but...
When I ran the script with a couple of messages selected, it seemed to do the right thing and did not give "The variable replyMessage is not defined". I had reply windows open with the address and subject correct.
Unfortunately, each message window did have an error message:
Error: The message could not be saved
which is curious since there is no command to save the message in the script.
Sometimes this sort of problem can arise when a non-printing character has ended up being typed in the variable name, or at the beginning or the end. Superficially it looks the same, but to the computer it is different from oher instances. Try selecting from a few characters before to a few characters after each occurrence of the variable name, and retype them. This should clear up uny non-printing characters. (In case you are wondering why I did not get the non-printing characters, they would have probably been stripped out when the text was sent to Apple Discussions or when it was displayed in my browser.)
BTW, I think the code segment:
    tell replyMessage
    set visible to true
    end tell
is not really necessary - the windows are visible even if those lines are omitted.
    Cheers

  • 2.2 Podcast download: errors on 2/3 podcasts I try to download

    Anyone else seen this?
I tried to download a podcast (Stack Overflow podcast) through the iTunes Store on my iPhone and it gave me a Download Error right away.
I tried to download another one (Ruby on Rails podcast) and it downloaded the whole file (progress bar got to 100%) and then gave another download error.
I tried some of random podcasts and managed to download some other ones. But I'd quite like to have these.
    Any thoughts?
    Dan

My podcasts download just fine, however they seem to be in the wrong format. Some enhanced audio files are playing as videos. I've reported the problem to the iTunes store (see pasted below), but I wanted to flag it to see if others are having the same problem:
With the most recent iPhone update (2.2), it's great having the ability to download podcasts. However, playback of enhanced audio podcasts has been causing problems. For some enhanced podcasts, they play back as they used to, providing access to chapter markers in the top right corner, and allowing the screen to be turned off while still playing the audio. Other enhanced podcasts now seem to show up as videos, with a small tv screen icon showing up next to the episode name, the chapter markers accessible via a button at the bottom of the screen, and I am unable to play back the audio show with the screen off (much as most of the rest of the videos work). I haven't yet been able to find a difference between these enhanced audio files, all seem to be file format .m4a, some encoded with Garage Band, some encoded with Podcast Maker.
    Some examples:
This Week in Media 117 (shows up as video)
gdgt 013 (shows up as video)
The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack AAC Ep. 3.37 (shows up as video)
MacCast eMacCast 2008.12.01 (shows up as enhanced audio)
This change started with iPhone software update 2.2, and has unfortunately rendered many of my podcasts useless unless I keep the screen active.
Additionally, another related change that was made with iPhone software update 2.0, was that, much like on the iPods, video podcasts could be viewed as a video, or listened to as only audio. On iPhone software version 1.1.4 and earlier, you had the choice to listen to a video podcast (which allowed you to turn the screen off) when accessing the podcast in the podcast section of the player, or as a video with the screen when accessing all videos in the player. Since 2.0, all video podcasts accessed from the podcast section play as videos. I understand the reasoning for this, as it may seem more straight forward to some users, but it has decreased the functionality of the player app. It'd be great if functionality were restored via a system preferences option to enable listening-only to video podcasts.
One other person has found the problem here as well:

Anyone else experiencing this? Might be similarly tied to these podcasting errors?

  • Itunes Error -208

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I downloaded an audiobook which, when downloaded, was three parts. The last two parts downloaded fine but the first part which was last to download failed due to this error -208, which if I am correct is an error of file corruption or wrong format. How might I fix this? any input would be much appreciated

Look under the iTunes Advanced menu for the "Check for purchases" command and run that. You may find the other part still there to be downloaded, if it didn't complete successfully the first time, and rerunning the download may complete this time.
If not, contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. They may have a corrupted part and have to get a new copy from Audible (or whoever provided it).
    Good luck.

  • Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:
    download error
    download error. Please contact support.
    (link) contact support
(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded  (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
    UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:

  • "Download Error" - Can't download/install any programs.

I downloaded CC on my Win 8.1 machine (after a windows crash and upgrade to 8.1).  Previously it was working fine (on Win 8).  Now the CC desktop app connects to my account but the Apps tab has a red exclamation error and when you click the tab it says "Download Error."  and to "Please contact customer support."  (See below:)
Apparently this seems to be a prevalent issue as I see multiple threads and support requests with this same error.
I got on Chat and followed all the troubleshooting advice, uninstalled, reinstalled, used the Removal tool, deleted folders from the AppData locations, everything.  Finally was getting ready to do something else and the Adobe server disconnected my chat session.
I know it is not MY internet connection because everything else is up and running fine, including streaming radio progams and other chat programs.
I tried visiting something on Adobe's siteand received the following error:
So what is going on Adobe?  I need to get my programs back so I can get back to work.
Edited to add - After another hour of being on chat support I got disconnected again.  Same error:  "Sorry, we're having technical difficulties."

So after four hours and dozens of troubleshooting issues, I figured out what was wrong.  I am on a fixed-wireless system at home.  I have used this same system and network setup in the past for CC.  My average DL speeds are 2.0 Mbps.  Not super fast but it has worked in the past.  On the 3rd or 4th chat session I was told that you can't use wireless with CC and I need to be on a fixed wired connection.  Finding that as rediculous as possible, I decided to test my network.  I logged off and used my AT&T CELL PHONE as a hotspot (which gets me about 4.0 Mbps download speeds, albeit with a higher ping) and VIOLA the Apps tab is there and I can download programs.

  • Download Error on Mavericks (mac)

When I go to the Creative Cloud application on the desktop, I go to the Apps tab and I get "Download Error" and when I try to reload the application, the error persists.
I'm on a macbook running Mavericks, I've deleted the AAMUpdater (though it creates a new one every time I reload the applications) folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe...  As per Re: Creative Cloud "Download Error" message , I looked in the OOBE folder and there was no opm.db, just a singe folder alias called "PDApp," which contained a pim.db, along with a bunch of other folders and files.
When I enabled the root user and logged into that account after restarting, I tried the Apps tab again and it was working just fine, in the root user.  But when I logged out and back into my regular account, I was still getting the download error.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Creative Cloud and that didn't work. I have Photoshop and Fireworks installed, so it WAS working at some point in time... I'm out of ideas...  Help please?
