Lost downloads

Hi, My mother accidently put the downloads folder from the dock into trash! I can find the folder in her hard drive but when I drag it to put it back into the Dock the computer seems to want to put it into the project gallery which for some reason is now situated next to trash. Anyone got any ideas please?

It seems you may have a mouse that doesn't give you the tracking capability that gives you enough finite control of where you are moving your files. If you are careful, you can drag it between the icons of two items on the dock and it will insert itself between those two icons. If dock magnification is turned on this is more difficult. Be sure to turn it off before attempting to move items onto the Dock. If the Downloads folder is not on the Dock, and inside the Projects Gallery folder, move it back to the Users -> yourname folder. Then attempt to move it onto the Dock adjacent to the other folders you want it between on the Dock. Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse lets you fix the tracking capability of the mouse and trackpad. Also if you are using a mouse that is optical, be sure the surface has more than one solid color, and a pattern. That helps with tracking.

  • I lost itunes on my computer and lost downloaded content that I payed for. How do I get it back?

I lost itunes on my computer and lost downloaded content that I payed for. How do I get it back?

When you say that you lost iTunes do you just mean the program or your content ? Have you checked to see if the content is still on your computer but not in iTunes ?
If not then do you not have a backup of your purchases on, for example, external drives or CDs or DVDs ? If you have then you can copy that onto your computer and add it back into iTunes. If you havn't then if they are still available in the iTunes store (and content is occasionally removed so you should make/maintain your own backups and not rely on re-downloading) and if you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to purchase them, then you should be able to re-download apps and ibooks, and if you are in the US music and TV shows, for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . If you are not in the US and you want to re-download music or tv shows then you can try contacting Apple and asking for a re-download, but they are under no obligation to let you : http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/contact/

  • Lost Downloaded Songs

I purchased five songs straight to my ipod touch but then i lost it. Is there anyway to get those songs for my new ipod or am I out of luck and have to re-buy them?

You can re download the songs for free if you are a resident of the U.S., have iTunes 10.3 and 4.3.3 on your device.

  • Lost Downloaded Photos

I downloaded photos from an external hard drive. When I tried moving the photos folder
To iPhoto I lost all of the photos. They are no longer In the downloads folder and they are not in iPhoto. Where are they? How do I recover them?

No idea - how about some information
What version of iPhtoo? Of the OS? What exactly did you do and how did you do it?
Importing photos to iPhoto has no effect on the source photo so your post does not make sense
The most basic answer it to launch iPhoto and drag the photos form the External drive to the iPhoto window which imports them into iPhoto ahas no effect on the photos on the EHD

  • Lost Download: Error -208

    Hi,
I bought only my 2nd iTunes album and had issues. At first 4 cuts failed to download giving me the -208 error code. They remained in my "download" column and I was able to after repeated attempts (like 50!) to get 3 of them. I figured I get the last one eventually but it has disappeared from my download folder.
Anyway to contact APPLE via email to get it resolved? After a while clicking buttons I'm weary of searching and a long day of work so please help.
Also is this common? I'm just getting into this thing and and hesitant to spend money for partial products or hassles to get completely.
    Thanks,
    Whatrix

The 208 error has been previously attributed to an authorization. I would recommend deauthorizing your account, downloading the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime, and then reauthorizing.
Should you have further I pulled the following link from the iTunes Store support site. Just fill out the information at the bottom and they should get back to you within 24 hours. If you are missing a track, be sure to include the track name and web order number in your submission.

  • TS4036 Lost downloaded iTunes library when syncing

After syncing my iPhone 4, the only music on my iPhone's ipod library and in the iTunes account that i can see is music i have purchased from iTunes. None of the music that I have downloaded into iTunes over the last 3 1/2 years is there. I don't know anything about the iCloud or how to use it but the album icons all have clouds on them. In the past I haven't had any problems with syncing but the cloud stuff is so confusing to me. I really don't have any idea what happened. I have 2 different computers that I have used to sync with in the past. The missing content is close to 1,000 songs and I really am sick to get them back.

So subscribing to iTunes Match includes purchasing?  I think I am confused.  If I purchased iClouds and do I also need to purchase and subscribe to iTunes Match?
The standard iCloud account is free and includes 5GB of storage.  You can purchase and annual subscription for additional storage if you need it but that is optional.
Your personal iCloud account does not store your music.  Music is available in iCloud in two ways.  First, music purchased from the iTunes store can be redownloaded again for free from the iTunes store (in many countries).  This service is called "iTunes in the Cloud" and has nothing to do with your personal iCloud account (nor does it even require having an iCloud account).
The second way to access music from iCloud is to subscribe to iTunes Match.  If you do, your entire iTunes music library(up to 25,000 songs), including music not purchased from the iTunes store, is available to download from iCloud without having to store it all on your device.  Like iTunes in the Cloud, this too has nothing to do with your personal iCloud account, nor does it even require having one.  This explains iTunes Match: http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.

  • Lost Downloaded tracks on ipod.

Got to work this morning to find that all the downloaded tracks from itunes on my ipod have dissapeared. The band/artist and track titles are still there but no music plays. All the music I've downloaded from CD on my itunes is intact and still there. Any ideas anyone?

Might be a corrupted hard drive on the iPod for some reason.
Try a reset, but if this doesn't help, you should restore the iPod and then reload the songs from iTunes.

  • Lost downloaded movie - Where is it?

I spent over four hours last night downloading "My Week with Marilyn" from the SAG Awards site, and now it is gone.  Where is it?
Also, I'm not sure I have iMovie 11 - I have whatever you get when you download iTunes.
I feel so inept.  Can anyone help me?
    Thanks so much,  Kate

It would be wherever you put it.
If you donwloaded it from the SAG Awards site, then it has nothing to do with the itunes store.
Imovie is a video ( i.e home videos) editing software.  it would have nothing to do with it either.

  • Lost download

Downloaded game trial, after download completed it said to open using Applications. The file is not listed in the Apps menu and not showing to try to delete it. Redownloaded it, and it said file already exists.
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  Any 3rd party program for your Centro needs to be in a .prc format to install.  Based on the fact that the file is asking you to run I would believe that you are downloading a .zip or compressed file that needs to be uncompressed and then installed to your Centro.   If you are downloading it directly to the Centro it will never work.  You need to download it to your computer, then run the application to uncompress it which will leave you the .prc file.  Then double click on it and that will put it into the installer.  The only other thing left woud be to sync and the file will be installed.

  • Re-downloading all previously purchased songs

    Hiya,
Just wondering if there is a quick and easy way of re-downloading all previously purchased songs onto my iTunes (I have purchased a new computer and the old one is dead). I have already authorised this computer, but short of going and finding all the purchases I have made in the past, can I just re-download them to here?
    Cheers.

As Apple clearly point out in the Terms of Use / Purchase, downloads are allowed to be made once only.
You cannot download your music again, it is your responsibility to have made backups of your music files in case of loss.
Just as a record store won't replace a lost CD, Apple will not replace lost downloads.
I suggest you either transfer the music you purchased from the old computer to the new computer, or you get a copy of the music out of your last backup.
If you cannot access the old computer and you do not have a backup then do you have the purchases on an iPod / iPhone? If you do then you can connect the device to iTunes (DO NOT SYNC THE DEVICE WITH ITUNES as that would erase the content from the device). Once connected use the 'Transfer Purchases' option you will find in the file menu in iTunes.
If you have not got the music on an iPod, etc then all you can do is send a very polite and humble email to Apple using the 'Report a problem' feature in the Account area of iTunes and ask them to allow you to download all your music again. It has been known for Apple to allow this to be done, but they don't need to do so and may refuse.
If they do then you will have lost all your purchased music, your fault not theirs.

  • How can i download the rest of the complete TV season from the cloud?

I bought the complete season pass of Scandal on my iPod touch. Currently I have two of the episodes on my iPod, and the other episodes are on the cloud. When I look at those two episodes, I can also see the rest of the episodes from that season in my videos list with a download button next to their names. However, when I click download, it pauses for a second and then states “you can not redownload this”. How is this possible when the episode is not downloaded in the first place? Also, I have purchased the complete season in SD, but when I click download, it says its downloading in HD. I’m not sure what’s going on.

Have you deleted or moved/renamed any directories on your computer ? By default your iTunes library is stored under :
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
    Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
    Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
    Finding lost downloads : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408
If you can't find your music on your computer then you could copy it back from your backup of your libary. If you haven't been keeping a backup then you might (depending upon what country that you are in, whether you've changed countries since buying it, and if it's still in your country's store) be able to redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage
If music shows there but doesn't have the cloud icon against it for redownloading then do you still have it listed in the Music part of your library ? If you do then try deleting it from there and it should then get the cloud icon in Purchased
(For future info typing all in capitals is considered shouting, and may mean that people are less likely to reply.)

  • How can I deregister without losing all my downloads

Can I regain all lost downloads when I deregister

Your iTunes purchases are associated with your iTunes account not with the device (kind of but not really). So that's why you're able to have your apps and other purchases on more than one device at a time (max of 5 computers and not sure if there is  limit for devices - anyone know if there is?). So when you deregister a device, it only affects that device, not your purchase history. So if you get another iPad, you can easily configure it with all your purchased apps and media and everything. You should make sure you have everything backed up in case there is any content that you created on the iPad (like documents or spreadsheets or ...) so that you can restore them to the new iPad.
Take a look at this summary on how to do things...

    Good luck
