Lost email icon

I was clearing out apps I don't use and ended up deleting my email button off the start up screen and was wondering if it was possible to replace it manually.

Well, you really can't delete it that way.
You might have "hidden" it.
1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.

You can't delete it, you can move it. Look on every screen and in any folders. Check restrictions. As a last resort, go to settings, reset, reset home screen layout.

My email icon has disappeared. How do I get it back?

Default apps cannot be deleted.  Search all home screens and all folders.
If not found, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.

From where did you lose the iPhoto icon? From the Dock? If so, then it's still in your Applications folder. Find it there then drag the icon back into the Dock. If it's no longer in Applications perhaps you've moved or renamed it. Use Spotlight to search for "iphoto."
Upgrading to Mountain Lion will not affect your iPhoto Library unless you erase the hard drive first. Be sure you backup before any system upgrade.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Logman has suggested some great advice.
Here is a very thorough way to search for unopened messages.
From the main message queue do a search:
    service=ALL SERVICES
    folder: ALL FOLDERS
    show: ONLY UNREAD
    type=ALL
    Thanks,

I cannot open the new email icon for 10.6.8 including the latest security update. My old "Stamp" icon email won't let me in either indicating that the new OS version doesn't work. Please help. I have spend over 4 hours installing and reinstalling updates, etc. and I don't know where to go from here.....

Mac OS X v10.6: Mail.app won’t open, or "You can't use this version of Mail…" alert after installing Security Update 2012-004:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4424?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Fellow user Grant Bennet-Alder offers this solution:
Some users have reported this problem if the Mail Application has been moved out of the top-level /Applications folder, or duplicated in another location.
When the Security Update is done, the old version of Mail is disabled.
    The solution has been to:
    1) make certain Mail is in the /Applications folder
    2) There is no other copy anywhere else.
    3) Once steps 1 and 2 have been done, Manually download and re-apply the Security Update (2012-004) by hand.
    Security Update 2012-004 (Snow Leopard)
If the Mail.app has been LOST, it can be re-installed by applying the 10.6.8 version 1.1 combo update. But this update is quite large and it is usually not necessary:

  • Blackberry 8900 Malfunction - lost camera icon, lost Twitter, lost Facebook :-(

I don't know much about Blackberries except that I love mine! I have had mine for 15 months without incident - recently I downloaded Twitter and Facebook from Blackberry App World and everything was hunky dory.
Today I went to answer a call and a message flashed up (all I caught of it was app error) then went to a white screen. After foooorever, I did a battery pull and when it rebooted, all I got was the 02 screen.

Since then I checked for updates (apparently I am completely updated) and restored my Blackberry and as a result, I have got my email back but not the camera icon (although I can access it via the Media icon) and I cannot get Blackberry App World, Facebook or Twitter (despite the Application Loader saying they are on my Blackberry).
Can anyone please help me get the App World, Facebook and Twitter back without crashing my Blackberry again?

I've lost the email icons on the bottom of the screen on my IPhone 4. No delete trash can, no reply/forward arrow, etc. any suggestions?

Close out of the app.  Double tap the home button, then find the mail app hold down until you see the red minus and hit that to completely close out.
Then go back into the mail app again and see if those functions are there.  IF not try a reset, hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release then wait for your phone to boot back up.

  • Why 2 email icons

I love my new BB after about two weeks of use. I am still confused about why I have two email icons. I thought I'd figure out the reason/usage by now, but am still not sure. Thanks, Sharon PS also, how do you move back through a word to fix a spelling error without erasing the whole word?

The envelope without the globe is your message queue. All emails should go into there, as well as missed calls.
text can go in there unless you want to split those out. The globe with your email address is a message queue for just the email address. I use the message queue, hide the globe. I made a folder on the home screen for apps I don't use and keep them in there to eliminate clutter.
If you need more assistance please ask, if not please resolve the post with the options over the Kudo's star.
    Thanks!

  • No longer receive emails, all email icons gone!

    Hi all, how are you?
I noticed 4 days ago that I stopped receiving emails from the 4 accounts I had set up on my Blackberry Torch 9800 (one official, 2 yahoo, 1 gmail). I could see the icons and send test emails but I wouldn't receive them on my phone. If I checked on a PC I would see the test email in my inbox, laughing at me. Here are the steps I've taken:
    1. A Google search of the problem said to resend service books, which I did from the phone. No change.
    2. Another Google search said to delete the CMIME and CICAL service books, re-add the emails and resend service books (from the phone). Now the email icons are all gone except the work one, even after re-adding all the addresses. The test emails I sent from the work email are sent, but I don't see them in either sent items or the inbox on a PC. In the setup screen, it says "Email accounts (1)" but when I open it, all 4 accounts I added are showing. I have also resent the service books for all the emails several times. Sometimes the message is "Successful", sometimes it says that it could not complete the request. I also noticed that the CICAL and CMIME service books did not come back for any of the accounts.
Of course all these steps are generously peppered with battery pulls.
My phone has also become sluggish and laggy, which it wasn't before.
Please can anyone help with this?

    Hey raufikat,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
If the service books are not updating successfully there may be an issue with your account/BlackBerry data services. I would suggest contacting your service provider for further investigation. If they are unable to resolve the issue request to have this issue escalated to BlackBerry Technical support for further trouble shooting.
Let us know if you have any question.
    Thanks.

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

  • I have duplicate email accounts icons, NOT recieving duplicate emails just two of the same email icons

I had a blackberry curve 8310 with ATT. I transferred carriers and got a new bold 9650 with sprint. I transferred data from old curve to new bold. But the old email didn't work on new bold. So I went to set up BIS with sprint, it added email account that works. But now I have two icons with the same email address. One works and one doesn't so it is confusing when I am selecting address to compose email. How do I delete email icon/account. I hid the icons but when composing email, it still shows two of the same email in the From:

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!
