Lost emails on Windows Live Mail

I have been using Windows Live Mail on my notebook for my emails.
I have several folders with loads of saved messages but for some reason when I've logged on today I have nothing showing and I've done nothing that I know of to affect this.
How do I go about recovering what has been lost?
Thanks

Log in to Windows Live Mail using your web browser and not the stand-alone app that is part of Windows Live Essentials. If your stuff is gone from there, it's gone for good and you probably won't get it back without Microsoft recovering it from their servers.

  • Can't send or receive emails using Windows Live Mail. Webmail login says "account disabled."

Since yesterday we have not been able to access our Verizon email through Windows Live Mail or loging on to the webmail service.  Nothing happens and we get a "accounts disabled" message.  I checked all of the POP settings and it won't connect.  When we try to log in to the verizon webmail service, it says our accounts have been disabled.  Please tell us what is going on. I've chatted with a representative and am speaking to one on the phone and they can't tell me why it's disabled or how they can enable it again.

Ok, now they're telling us that one of our email accounts is associated with someone in Texas.  But we're from California and have always lived here.

  • How do I set up my email on Windows Live Mail on Windows 10

Upgraded my Window 8 to Windows 10.  I also have a laptop with Windows 7.I am trying to set up my email (using Windows Live Mail) on the computer with Windows 10.  I typed in exactly how it is on my laptop, but it won't work.  Anyone able to help?

If it will not verify, that means that one of the settings that you have done for the account is incorrect. Check back with the email provider to make sure you have all of the settings required, that they are correct, and lastly to make sure that you are entering all of the correct information in the correct places.

You can find settings for any email client program by clicking the link below:

I need server information to set up an icloud email account.

Windows Live Mail is not compatible with iCloud, neither is Outlook Express. You need Outlook, 2007 or 2010.
    Or go to www.icloud.com.

  • .pdf files received in Windows Live Mail

I have the latest iMac with Snow Leopard 10.6.7, Parallels Desktop 6 and Windows 7 installed. Since I work alot in the Windows environment because of the professional software I use, I retrieve my email from Windows Live Mail. If someone sends me a .pdf file and I try to open it, the ColorSync Utility pops up and the Profiles window opens (the .pdf file does not open). Why does this happen and how do I get it to just open the .pdf?

Yes. I had to figure it out on my own. Go to the start button on the windows page and go to the selection entitled "Default Programs". A window pops up. Choose the selection entitled "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program." Under the "Name", find ".pdf". Put the cursor over that and click the button "Change program..." Another window opens up with the names of different programs. The Adobe program should be in there. If not, there is a button at the bottom "Browse..." and you should be able to find the Adobe program there. Hope that helps.

  • Pse 7 with windows live mail

I just upgraded my vista version to windows 7 and now using windows live mail.  I use pse7 for my editing program.  When I go to send an email attachment from my organizer I now must use adobe email since windows live mail is not an option.  My question is this:  Why doesn't adobe email show that I have sent the email in my sent box?  It always did in outlook and windows mail.  It is nice checking my sent box to make sure it went through.  Any explanations would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Why doesn't adobe email show that I have sent the email in my sent box?
Because the email wasn't actually sent by Windows Live Mail.   PSE sent the message directly to Adobe's email servers, which then delivered it to the recipients, and it was never handled by Windows Live Mail.  If you want a copy, you'll need to cc yourself.
Many people have complained that PSE 8 doesn't support Windows Live Mail, but Adobe doesn't seem to care.

  • Attachments to Windows Live Mail in PSE 7.0

    Hi,
I would like to share photos via email using Windows Live Mail in Win XP. When I check the options in PSE 7.0 I am offered Outlook, Outlook Express and Adobe Email only. While I can save my photos to the desktop one at a time and attach them manually, it would be convenient to attach them directly to Live Mail. Anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks, Barron

Unfortunately, those are your only options. The way you have been doing it is how you have to do it.

  • Cannot find 'HTTP... from Windows Live Mail

Using both FireFox 8.0, then 9.0 as my default browser, I get the error "Windows cannot find 'http:...." when I click on a link in an email in Windows Live Mail. The error note remains, but after a few seconds, FireFox opens the desired link page.
This doesn't happen when I set IE7 as the default browser. It simply works without the error note.

What password do you use to log onto MyBT. The old one or the new one?
    https://home.bt.com/login/loginform?TYPE=33554433&REALMOID=06-f1aca0f0-9277-1028-a2aa-843bdb4e0000&G...
If it is your old password there appears to be a glitch when changing email passwords, it is not changing the password in MyBT so it causes a problem when logging on via an email client.
If you change the password of MyBT it does change the email password as well.
(I may have gotten this the wrong way round because I haven't tried it. ie changing MyBT does not change email password and changing email password does change MyBT password.)

  • Windows Live Mail - Cannot download BT Yahoo Mail ...

I've been trying on and off for about 4 hours to download my btinternet e-mails to Windows Live Mail.
BT web mail is working correctly (sending/receiving).
I have numerous accounts set up in WLM so that all my btinternet, gmail and hotmail e-mails are all in one place.
All 9 of my btinternet mail accounts stall on Finding host... and the message eventually shown is The connection to the server has failed.
My 4 gmail account and 5 hotmails accounts DO download to WLM.
(Although I dont use Outlook Express anymore, I have my main btinternet account still there. So I launched OE and that too stalled on Finding host...).
So does anyone know - are there known problems today with server?
    Thanks.

Same issue for about 3 days now. Web mail working but cannot download incoming emails with windows live mail.
BT support bl**dy useless as usual and we have to pay for the priveledge of using it . . .
The solution offered in one of the links below is for Outlook 2007 - will this solution work with Windows Live Mail? Is peerblock still recommended? How do we know when our email has been migrated away from Yahoo and what are the email client settings we need to use?
Any advice will be grateful, and the more detailed the better as I am reasonable tech savvy but not an IT guy :-)
    Thanks

  • I can't add a tab for windows live mail , I am running windows 7 64 bit

I can't add a tab for email for windows live mail to the tab bar, I am using windows 7, 64 bit . I can add it to the 32 bit o/s, but not the 64 bit.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Windows Live Mail 2012 - Outgoing Email Times Out due to Lost Server Connection

Using Windows Live Mail 2012 on WIN7 64-bit.
Been receiving emails seemingly without issues, but...
Haven't been able to POST any outgoing emails now since September 16th for any of my main/sub accounts.
Indicator is a Norton Internet Security popup stating:
"Email Error. Your email message was unable to be sent because the connection to your email server was interrupted. Please open your email client and resend the message from the Sent Messages folder." Then it lists the from/to/subj.
I recompose and try to resend; same results.
I've rolled WIN7 back to September 6th, but results are the same.
I thought perhaps NIS was blocking the SMTP port, but same results when I turn off NIS and Antivirus. I don't see anything of significance in NIS's logs.
Of course, Verizon's mini-app that sniffs out and corrects email problems does not know or care about Live Mail. Just Outlook and OE.
    Ideas? Things to try? Thanks.

I noticed my email account server settings don't match what is defined on the FiOS email setup page on verizon.com.
The server setting I have for my POP3 is "incoming.verizon.net" (not pop.verizon.net) and my SMTP server setting is "outgoing.verizon.net" (not smtp.verizon.net).
    Why don't these match?
Also, my port settings don't seem to match what's posted online.
My outbound port is 25 (not 465) and my inbound port is 110 (not 995).
Doesn't seem right to me, and I'm wondering what changed in the past week?
The changes to pop/smtp from incoming/outgoing have been in the works for a while. Maybe Verizon finally go around to disabling the old servers?
Either way, you should update to the latest settings.
For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
    Incoming Server: pop.verizon.net
    Server Requires Authentication: Yes
    Username: fakeacct
    Password: fakepassword
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
    Port: 995
    Outgoing Server: smtp.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
    Port: 465
If you are given the option anywhere for Secure Password Authentication (SPA), set it to No or Normal
