Lost EMCTL in Application Server Home in Solaris 10

I have lost my emctl file for Grid Control in the appplication server home for Solaris 10 . Can someone please please help me by posting a version of it so that I can then just add my paths to it .

This have platform and server spcific settings. You can try a temporary install on another home and copy it from there

Deploying forms application on Oracle Application Server 10g on Solaris

Hi Guys,
We have to deploy our forms application on Application Server 10g on Solaris platform.
I understand we have to specify the hosting directory in the formsweb.cfg file from where forms will be picked up.
Now the query is -
We have a directory structure, we want to keep the directory structure intact as every directory contains forms and reports executables belonging to that module.
So can I mention the parent directory structure as launching directory and still the forms will be picked and hosted as web forms when user tries to access the form via a link, the forms executables being in inidividual directories inside the parent directory?

Not sure that I fully understand how you want to send mail, but if you are looking to have portlets, servlets, jsp's, etc... send mail, then you should look at the javax.mail APIs. If you are on a using a unix/linux type server, and you want mail regarding low level OS stuff, then you should look at sendmail or whatever your local mail package is.

Applying CPUOct2007 only on database and not on Application server home ??

Yes you can safely apply the CPU to the DB and not to the AS home. Just make sure you have set your ORACLE_HOME variables properly.

My Yahoo on Portal 6 for Application Server 7 on Solaris

Hi everyone, I'm trying to install the My Yahoo provider on Portal 6 for SUN ONE Application Server 7 on Solaris 8. So far it has not been successful. It seems that it only wants to look for web server components and cannot handle the Application server installation.
On my first trial the install log said:
DEPLOY_BASEDIR not found in /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWps/pkginfo
so I added the Base dir for the Portal installation.
On the second trial the log said:
PASSPHRASE not found in /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWps/pkginfo
so I added the passphrase for the adadmin user to the file
On the third trial it seemed to install most of the components but returned a not installed message and the log says:
Error: Cannot determine WS_ADMINPASSWD.
At this point I can see the provider listed as a service but no properties show when I try to display it.
I have 2 questions:
1. How can I modify the scripts or pkginfo files to make this work?
2. Does anyone know how to define a proxy in the APP server 7 web container so that it can fetch the content should the provider install eventually? As with the script the instructions only address a web server installation.

I am getting this error because of the JDBC driver. I have an Oracle 9.2.04 database but there is no Oracle 9.2.0.4 client for Solaris 9 x86. I am trying to test it using the Oracle 10g Client. Hence the error. Anyone knows about any workarounds for this.

BPEL Server installation on JBOSS application Server on SUN SOLARIS

I have a question about Oracle BPEL installation. For our project exists the requirement, to install BPEL Server on SUN SOLARIS, whereby the appropriate Version of Application server JBOSS already exists and it should be used.
The version of the Oracle BPEL server for JBOSS, which we found on the Download side, is made available only with JBOSS (version 3.2.6) in a Package.
During the BPEL server installation this bound JBOSS server version is installed automatically, without giving selection. Is there a BPEL installation for JBOSS on SUN-SOLARIS, which can be installed at the already existing JBOSS server?

J2EE Application server for CCA (Solaris 10)

I know that CCA doesn't document Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1 for Solaris SPARC as a supported J2EE application server, but has anyone installed CCA with the newer versions of Sun GlassFish application servers? Can you share you experience if you've used other application servers on Solaris 9 or 10. Our install of CCA will use Windows for Telephony servers and the J2EE app/session servers on Solaris 10.

We will be doing an install in January with planned Solaris 10 running Weblogic 10.3 and the Application servers will be running windows.
The Matrix does not show this combination but we have mixed Linux web servers in the past with Windows application server OK with a 10G back end DB.

Focus lost in Oracle Application Server

Dear All,
We developed a custom system using Oracle Forms Developer 10.1.2.0.2. An Oracle Application Server 10g runs our forms. Users use it across the Internet using MS Internet Explorer 7. If a form contains 2 blocks and a user clicks the another block, the focus remains at previous block even the cursor is in the proper field.
It used to work properly for a while (about 6 months). About 3 weeks ago the administrator restarted the server due to an error and since then we have been noticing this problem. We tried different versions of Java, different browsers(IE 7 and Firefox 3.6.3) at client side but the result is the same. I think the problem must be at server side but I don't have more ideas where it is.
Can anybody help me?

Use the Sun Java console in Internet Explorer to see if you can find any errors ( IE -> Tools -> Sun Java Console). There is not much to see here but you can turn all kinds of logging on. See:

SUN Application Server 8 On Solaris

I tried to deploy the smart ticket 1.2 demo which comes with the Evaluation version of SUN One 8
"j2eesdk-1_4-dr-solaris-eval"
Unfortunately it does not work
The server log shows: "......com.sun.jdo.api.persistence.support.JDOFatalUserException: JDO76604: JNDI lookup for cmp-resource 'jdo/smart_ticket' failed. ......."
In the admin console a persistent resource with this name exists !
The problem also occurs if i test other sample applications
I use the pointbase database which comes with the evaluation version

I do not know what i did but finally i got the thing work
I played around with "list" commands of the admin console to see whether something has been undeployed unclean
Then i changed some log levels
Finally i restarted the Appserver (i did this already three times) and deployed the application again - and it worked

There is known bug in installing Oracle10gAS infra. You have to apply the following note during the installation.
see MetaLink Note:330016.1 for current AS 10.1.2 installation requirements for Solaris 10.

BACK UP OF ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER HOME

Hi I have a apps server 10.1.2.3 and i have to install 10.1.3 version on the same server. Both the
versions need to co-exist.
I need to know what it the way to take a cold backup of the oracle home
currently my home is /opt/dba/oracle/oas1012 which i need to backup
What i thought was this
1)stop the services
2) take the backup using cp -r
3) start the services
is there a better approach or am i missing something

Error in starting the domain in application server 8.2

I want to deploy a application EAR on newly created domain. For this :
1. Got the 8.2 Java application server installed on solaris box.
2. Created domain using the asadmin command -> create-domain --adminport 4848 --adminuser admin <DOMAIN_NAME>
On starting the domain with this command - sh asadmin start-domain --user admin <DOMAIN_NAME. I am facing the below issue. Please note this is a fresh installation of the app server and a new domain
To troubleshoot this, I have already followed below steps , without any resolution:
1. Checked port with - netstat -an|grep 45184 and also checked the processes using ps -fu <unix_user>. Even after killing the process, same error.
2. Gave full permissions on /AppServer8.2/imq/var/instances
3. Logged in as root user and then tried to start domain
4. Updated domain.xml with some other port , checked this port if it is free , then replaced in domain.xml
5. No logs generated in /AppServer8.2/imq/var/instances
Please help me in resolving this issue. I have downloaded the 9.1 application server and will install and check in the meantime

Hi,
Try to manually download the file from application server using standard transactions, and than check how many records are you able to download from app. server.
I guess there might be something wrong with the format of 583rd record, which makes sap assume that the file has come to an end.

Hi,
we have several developers working with developer suite 10g. Our OAS runs on Linux as yours. All our developers work locally using windows-pc's. We have a samba share we use to move the developed sources to the linux box. On the linux box with have some scirpts to compile the sources and move them to the runtime-directory.
The final integration test in then done using the installed application on the oas.
This works without having any problems for more two years now.
btw: Be aware of the problems you will run into when moving an application from windows to linux:
-> All filename ar Case-sensitive
-> the writing of module-names in OPEN_FORM, NEW_FORM, CALL_FORM must match exactly the filename (in other words: call_form, open_form and new_form is also case-sensitive
-> Attached librarys are also case-sensitive, even if there are shown in uppercase in the module-navigator.
