Lost everything since ios5 update

i installed ios5, and lost all my files, phone numbres, etc...!!!! ican't find any backup in itunes!!! what can ido ?

All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer - all music, ringtones, movies, tv shows, any audio or print books, and all 3rd party apps.
All photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone should remain on your computer.
All photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera especially before installing a firmware update.
Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for contacts which can be lost or stolen or damaged from being dropped, etc.
If you can find a backup for your iPhone, most data can be re-transferred to your iPhone from your computer.

I am having the same problem. Did turning off iCloud work? Did you just turn everything off or did you actually delete the account off your iPod?

Im losing will to live! iphone3gs not being recognised anymore in itunes or iphoto via usb since IOS5 update

Im really really p'd off with this!!!!!
Have had my 3GS for 2 years and it has always been recognised in Itunes and iphoto when plugged into my macbook pro (10.6.8) with the usb. Now since IOS5 update it intermittidely recognised it, now it doesnt at all, I plug it in it beeps then nothing, I have tried everything in all the tech services advice. Last week it did finally recognise it and I had time to switch off the wifi syncing which I now realise was a mistake as now I cant sync it at all. I have uninstalled itunes, reinstalled itunes. Been here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3540 tried it nothing, tried everything, swearing at the devices is not working, thinking about throwing through a window to see if that helps!
Seriously I need to sync and get all the photos off from past 2 months, why is this not working anymore? Is it a problem with IOS5 10.6.8 snowleopard and 3GS combo?
Can anyone suggest how I get it working again please!!!

I have experienced everything you have and more pixel ate it.
My last sync was around Dec. 14 and have been unable to do so until yesterday. My PC is now freezing, itunes does not want to open and it now sees the iPone as a camera but not recognized in iTunes.
I have tired addition to re-installing iTunes 4 different times: tried to install an older version and rebuilt a compatible library file, deleted and re-built current library versions, started entire computer in safe mode, disabled add-ons, ran a registry fix program, ran a Win-Fix program, done a system restore 2x, re-authorized the iPhone more than twice, turned iCloud off to try sync via USB, ensured I had an 'enhanced' usb port needed for OS5, that I can recount!
My PC was working perfectly until I was able to sync yesterday and it is now back to it sick state. I have no idea why syncing would create such havoc and I am now back to the same state I was in Dec. 14.
What good is a smartphone if Apple isn't smart enough to push out a fix!!??
I replaced my android because my contacts and calendar are my life and now I can neither.

My iPod Touch 4g will not stop crashing since iOS5 update?

Ever since I updated my iPod Touch 4g with iOS5, most of my apps, and even Safari, The App Store and Youtube, crash often, and it's becoming very annoying. Before the update none of those crashed.My iPod Touch 4g is barely a month old and it crashes probably more than a 2g iPod. I want this to be fixed ASAP but how??

Sorry, im annoyed and angry, i wanted the answer to what has caused this but like you said no one here would know on an Apple Support Community, "this has been reported since the very first iOS update". Apple hasnt adapted much then has it. i dont think i had to many valuable pictures, its more that i now have to **** about downloading like over 100 apps get peoples numbers again etc etc. dont remember anything like this with the good old nokia 3310, what happened to sims remembering my numbers??

Lost contacts after ios5 update

I have lost all of my contacts after the ios5 update. for instance if i dail the number there name will pop up but when i go to contacts there is nothing there! please help!

You need to turn off synching through the iCloud and synch through iTunes to your Outlook of Address Book however this will still leave you with linked/duplicate contact cards in your phone and your favorites contacts in the phone as well as all caller id photos etc. will be linked to the old contacts. In order to get rid of those contacts what I did was added the simple change to the contacts I synched from the computer (I added an exclamation point to the notes sections). Then synch to your iPhone through iTunes not through the iCloud, then search your iPhone for the first contact name you have in your list. You will see this will bring up 2 contacts for the same person. Select either contact then hit the back button. You will then be in the contact list but you will see in this work around there will be 2 contacts listed for everyone. Select the contact card and then delete it that does not have the added change so you can tell what is new and old. This will leave you with the new contact cards and remove the corrupted/lost contacts. You will lastly need to turn on the iCloud synch and either leave or remove those changes you made (like my exclamation points) from your new contacts. This is a pain in the tail but the only way I was able to completely fix the issue.

Some Sounds Not Working Since iOS5 Update On My iPAD 2

Since installing the iOS5 update on my iPad2, I am not getting keyboard click sounds, App sounds or Connection sounds. I did a complete reset and the sounds came back until I restored my backup. Now they're gone again. So obviously it may be something I have setup or a bug in iOS5 I would REALLY have to do a complete reset and setup my iPad2 from scratch again, so any ideas would be appreciated!

First make sure that you have the sounds turned on in Settings>General>Sounds. If they are turned on then read the following.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Why can't I reply to emails since ios5 update?

Since I updated to ios 5 I can't reply to mail. I can receive and send mail and type a reply but as I press send the app crashes and returns to the home screen.

This may be a network issue in which case you can go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Other than that it may be an issue with the mail server, so I would try deleting the account from Mail and re-adding it. If neither works, you may have to do a restore.

Have lost Hotmail since latest update

There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps until it's resolved.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article.
2. Reset the System Management Controller.
3. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
4. A swollen battery in a MacBook Pro or Air can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced.
5. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
6. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
7. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
8. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

My 920 has lost features since the update and I do...

Since the update, my phone no longer go into landscape. When I text, I usually flip landscape to do it. Now I cannot. Portrait Only. When I snap pictures, I always flip into landscape mode to view them.
IT STINKS looking at the pictures in portrait mode. Two large black borders on top and bottom. I also discovered since the update, my phone can't read bar codes. My 920 is crippled but the update was supposed to make things better but it didn't and I'm sure there isn't much I can do about it but be annoyed for the next 2 years. Anyone have any ideas?

I did a full reset and nothing. I still cannot look at my photos in Landscape mode. It is just as it has been before the reset..except now I have to reload all these apps again, which sucks they don't just download from my account. Something about doing the same thing expecting a different result comes to mind.
Lets see, I started with the HTC Titan when Microsoft announce the WP7. Then the Titan II, From there to the Nokia 900 but I couldn't even use it for a week until they released an update to fix the Network connectivity issues. Now it had a **bleep** camera on it but I lived with it. Nothing to do, I'm on contract. I pressed on and got the 920. It had the basically the same camera issues until I updated to Portico. Now my phone has NEW problems and I'm sure the costs go up from here and I'm tired.
It really pains me to say it but maybe I just have to face facts about Windows Phone. I don't believe I can continue crippled like this. Apps will come. But running it with Nokia equipment seems a bride too far. I'll ask one last time, any ideas?

IPhone 4S has lost sound on iTunes, films and pretty much everything since ios6 update!

I updated to iOS 6 yesterday and since then I have lost all sound of my iTunes and films and stuff. There is no volume control available. It did work earlier for a brief time but stopped again. I have tried restarting, resetting and pretty much everything I can to resolve this but to no avail. Does any key have any ideas or have apple bugger up us iPhone 4S users? Please help its annoying me as I use iTunes a lot. Also I get no unlock sound or key clicks.

Try a hard reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button and the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears.

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

Lost music after iOS5 update.

All of my music is gone from my iTunes account and iPhone 4 after updating to iOS5. I didn't lose contacts, pictures, apps or anything else, just music. Any suggestions on how to get it back or is it lost forever?

Music is not included in the backup. Your music and other iTunes media should be in your iTunes library and syncing with iTunes should restore it to the phone. Music purchased from the iTunes store can be redownloaded for free as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.

Lost texts after ios5 update ..

During the new update I had a ton of problems. My phone wouldn't back up it kept erroring. I finally got that to work. Then my phone was frozen. It kept turning on and shutting off. When it came back on it froze on the lock screen. The auto lock didnt even kick in. So I had to reset my phone but holding the home button and the sleep button up top. I then sync'ed my phone again. I got everything back but all my saved text messages. Are these saved texts gone forever?
