i did a clean install of my snow leopard os. i used both discs that came out with the macbook pro and still garageband isnt installed. how do i resolve this ??

Custom Install GB directly from the system DVD #1 that originally came w/your computer. Follow the onscreen custom install instructions. GB is either inside the Bundled Software or Applications folder.

Lost Mails after format and Import

I formatted and reinstalled my machine but when opening Mail and using the import function to restore my mailboxes and e-mails from the back-up all the software did was import the mailboxes, no mails. How do I restore my e-mails from my mailboxes and inbox in my backup?

I re-imported mail boxes and it turns out I did it incorrectly the first time, everything is fine now!

Power Manager 7.40 - installed, working fine, lost it after format

So I don't really know how, I'm guessing it was installed either by an older Settings Dependency package or something, but I had Power Manager version 7.40 installed on my X220 with Windows 8 Pro.
It worked pretty much perfectly, no crashes etc.
I decided to make a fresh install of Windows 8 so that I can try 8.1.
Sadly it appears Power Manager cannot be officially installed on Windows 8.
The last version for Windows 7 is 6.5. I'm wondering - is there somewhere where we can download version 7.4 which I know for a fact worked fine with Windows 8?

Power Manager is not supported on Windows 8.
The 7.xx version thing is a side-effect of the following:
- forcing Power Manager 6.xx to install on Win8 by using "compatibility mode"
- upgrading your Win7 system with Power Manager, to Win8
... and then installing the Lenovo Settings Dependency Package.
The Lenovo Settings Dependency Package updates binaries that are also used by Power Manager, this is where the 7.xx thing comes from. There really isn't any Power Manager 7.xx
I do not recommend using Power Manager on Windows 8, it is not supported and has never been tested on Win8. Besdies this many users report problems from forcing Power Manager to install on Win8.

It probably came with your Mac when it was new. As you seem to have received it with Snow Leopard installed, you should have some media from which you can install it.
If not, you'll need to purchase it from the App Store.

Sounds like it isn't to serious. the Bluetooth connection had an error and that is that generated
the Problem report.
When the Blackberry started to use Bluetooth the "gold standard" was using Microsoft's
"native" windows drivers. Now, every major PC company has there own version
Thus the problem report.
There is rather involved and lengthy procedure to check and install the correct Bluetooth drivers
in the Dell, but I really don't think you want to take that on.( Nod you head and say H*LL YES)
Here is what I propose;
The problem report needs to be resolved or it wont go away. Read the manual, call Dell,
try apologizing to it and that you'll never never do it again, what ever it takes!
Make the best investment you can make for your Blackberry, buy a media card.
All the memory in the BB is dynamic, this facilitates the functions of the phone.
By storing media in that memory, you effect are wasting X amount for file storage.
Store all media and files on the media card, and you will have a smooth running device.
They run about $25.00usd, they are easy to install, and they also make moving your
media a snap. You will need the USB adapter that came with it, but you can get that at
your local carrier store.
So if you agree with this I need some info.
On the Blackberry go to the options icon,click then scroll up to ABOUT.
I need your software version number, it's listed in this format: 4.x.x.xxx.
Send it back to me and I can tell you what size card you can get.

How to install old bookmarks after formating PC but I didn't back up anything?

I just reformatted my laptop without back up any Bookmarks.
After formatting & installing Firefox, I realize that none of my Bookmarks are at Firefox.
Please let me know any possible way to install back my old bookmarks as some are very important to me as don't know where to find back.

Ok so it's evident you don't want help here, so here's the answer. If you didn't backup Firefox, then you lost all your Firefox bookmarks. I tried to ask you if you made any other backups that possibly included Firefox's data, but you refused to answer. So I'm assuming you didn't, which means, your Firefox data is gone. Sorry. You should have backed it up.

Have you try moniter this action using process monitor? To find detailed information about what blocked from accessing, Process monitor is a relatively better choice for you.

HT201250 How to recover iPhoto Library after format of hard drive?

I've recently reinstalled Lion onto my hard drive but I forgot to backup my iPhoto library. Is there any way of recovering this library? I also have an external hard drive that had Time Machine Backups but that hard drive has since gone through formats as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

SOLUTION : iPhoto folder recovered after formatting hard drive by mistake.
I was able for recover my iPhoto library ( intact ) after formatting the hard drive by mistake.
On top of that I formatted it in FAT32 format. My iPhoto folder was huge 100GB with file and movies of all sort of formats. I kept it on a secondary hard drive of 500 GB. one day I was formatting flash drive for somebody which was 500Mb, seems similar to my 500GB and I formatted my hard drive by mistake. I realized the mistake a week after the person called me and said there is nothing in flash disk and I find a single file on my hard drive. Needless to say the earth disappeared underneath me. All my pictures for 10 years , 8000 thousand of them, cherished memories all gone. But was I determined to find them back and I know they are intact somewhere. My biggest fear was that formatting on MS-dos format might have really deleted them , but they were there. and here is how I got them back.
First I tried the Data recuse 3 software. I got the photos back, but they were all jumbled up. Long numerical file names and original dates were gone. No way I could sort it out back to the way it was before . So my target was to recover the iPhoto folder intact.
- I bought an external hard drive with 1tb space to retrieve the data.
- The software which did the miraculous job is called " STELLAR PHOENIX MAC DATA RECOVERY" .
- I ran a deep scan all night and came up with many volumes. volume-1 was the MS dos , volume 2 was a mac system,
- I tried MS dos volume first and there was nothing on it.
- I tried the 2 volume with mac system. It got all my files and some other system file.
- I could see the iPhoto folder and click on that only to recover. After that I went for my doc and other files later.
- It took hours to retrieve my iPhoto folder intact, The folder size was right and file were there in master folder.
- I checked in FINDER , opening iPhoto with "show content " and all my picture file were there with original date.
- BUT when tried opening it in iPhoto , there was nothing. it keep showing the wait icon and nothing shows up. Empty iPhoto.
- I tired starting iPhoto , holding command -option and tried building and repairing database, nothing worked.
- Then I got this software " iPhoto library manager" .
- downloaded, installed it and pointed it towards my iPhoto folder.
- It asked for space to rebuild a new iPhoto library with existing picture and folder.
I had another external hard drive , I used it to make a rebuild iPhoto library.
and there I GOT IT. only took three night of pain.
IMPORTANT:
I never touched my original formatted hard drive. Don't write anything on it until you are sure you have recovered everything. open and see files with your own eyes.
- I recovered the iPhoto on another hard drive and then built it on another hard drive . Yes its pain in the neck but well worth fixing your stupid mistake of not making a back up in the first place.
I hope this helps all who are looking for iPhoto recovery and their lovely memories.

HFS File system with case sensitive is not accepted to install creative cloud? Is there any other way but install the whole MacOS again after formatting the drive. I cannot belief that Adobe is so bad to it's Mac customers..

After many hours setting up OS10.10 from he scratch the last step should be installing m Adobe apps again.
trying this I always get the error message that creative cloud does not accept case sensitive file systems and I shall use another drive.
This means I have to set up the whole machine again after formatting without case sensitive but then having copy problems with my NAS?
I cannot belief that Adobe is really demanding this. If so this would show how urgent this market need alternatives and some more competition...

You formatted your computer's hard drive? If so, it's like starting with a new computer unless you restored all of your content from a backup but it does;t sound like that's the case.
