Lost I-tunes

On Monday Morning 10/2/06 New update came out
for I-tunes 7.01 Downloaded it. And my Mac froze
after getting it back up and running I can't get my I-tunes
and Safari to work. Tried installing I-tunes from apple site
and from Disc still got nothing, I still have my music files
and Video's but they won't play.

I just read itunes policy and from what I gather, you are supposed to back up your music because they are not responsible. If you don't have another drive to back them up you can backup the source files which are pretty small onto a CD which you can't play in a player but can recover the music files.

  • Lost i-tunes lib.

lost i-tunes library after downloading and installing latest version of i-tunes and quick-time. how does one go about restoring music library without reloading complete 16gb of data?

    Rachyl;
how do i go about downloading my ipod to itunes
    thank you for your help.
    Try this out:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin
    /7.0/en/657win.html
I would also search your hard drive for them and add
them back into iTunes. Sometimes this happens, but
iTunes does not "Save" your music, your hard drive
does that. iTunes only holds the file path in order
    to reference that music by.
If no joy, you can rip your iPod onto your iTunes.
    Good Luck,

  • Lost i-Tunes and need to get all my music back onto it

Hi everybody, I really need some help! Last week my computer crashed and I lost every files I have had, so basically I have bought a new computer with nothing on it. The last two days I have been installing new files and other things. Now the thing is all my music is still on my I-pod (Ipod nano 2nd gen), how do I put all my music from my i-pod back onto a new i-tunes without losing the music?
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
    Blake

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Ipod Nano lost all tunes

My ipod nano lost all stored tunes whilst on the road and I have no idea why. Had to reload everything. What could I have done wrong? Or is there a glitch?

    1. susan your question does not pertain to this topic (1 album vs. all music)
    2. if you have a question post your own topic
    3. copy the album on again or look harder.

  • Hi recovered my old laptop lost i tunes still have music on pod updated i tunes but it fetched another playlist how do i sync the 2 without losing music on pod

Hi recovered myy old laptop lost my old play list i tunes on new laptop found old purchased songs , but want to retain songs on pod can i get these back into i tunes on new laptop.
    Any help much apreciated

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • Lost TV tuner after upgrade

I've just upgraded my Pavilion dv7-3109tx from Win 7 Home (32) to Win 7 Ultimate (64). In the process, I have lost the drivers for my integrated TV tuner (doesn't appear in device manager) although I suspect it may be linked to the missing Multimedia Controller drivers that i can't seem to find anywhere either. Windows doesn't automatically upgrade them when I do a search, so I'm wondering what my next step might be. Anybody else got a clue?

In my dv4 a search for multimedia controller comes up empty, so I don't know what they are. In device manager my tuner is under "sound video and game controllers". If I open the tuner it's possible to check status, drivers etc. I'm not too good at this but I can't understand how device manager can not see a piece of hardware. I am using windows 7, but it was an upgrade from Vista, not a new install.

  • Updated my itunes software and lost 1000 tunes. unable to recover. Could they be in the cloud. not subscribed

After downloading the latest apple software update I discovered I had lost almost 1000 tunes off my ipod touch. when I turned on my computer and loaded itunes the cloud symbol was showing and when it was scrolled it stated I had items to download? I have not knowingly subscribed to the cloud and therefore cannot access it. If that is where my tunes are, then how do I retrieve them?

Redownload past purchased from "iTunes in the Cloud" does not use or require a personal iCloud account.  This article explains how to do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

  • Help! Lost  I-Tunes Library

I have Windows XP which crashed and I unfortunately lost all of my music that I had stored in my I Tunes library. As you can imagine, this is devastating! Does anyone know what program I can use to download from my IPOD back to my PC? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

IPod Agent is a good program for doing this, Elaine. Although there's a cost associated with it, they have a 15-day free trial. That should be plenty of time for you to copy your music from your iPod back to your computer.

  • Lost I Tunes libary after factor reset

Due some minor/major problems after non use for some months, the I Tunes libary was lost / hidden  somewhere? I have looked up many many websites regarding this but nothing works,I can not find any screens showing anything. even my Ipod.I have connected the Ipod to my laptop but no screens appear to ask me import the tunes.I had to do a factory reset to get things working properly after the laptop was not used for a long time.I keep printing paper but the more I print the more I get a little confused.I would say the I Tunes libary was working alright just before the new year and also the ipod. Can anyone help.it may be a simple answer or something more complicated! Thanks.

If your media is not in your iTunes library or your computer or on the iPod it is gone except maybe:
No content shows up in iTunes after updating
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Lost all tunes?

I have dowloaded many songs and pics to my iPod video with no problems. This time...I disconnected from Windows XP and no folders!! The iPod did not freeze I restarted and still no folders. Have I lost everything or is it still in there and malfunctioning? The iPod is 'resting' now some suggestions and help please before the hammer!

Another way to import the music back from the ipod to the computer is first go to itunes then Edit --> Preference --> Advanced --> and check off copy music to itunes music folder when adding songs to library.
Now connect the ipod to the computer (if this a new computer and the ipod has never been connected to it, you'll get a box asking you to link the libraries, Say NO)
In itunes select file then 'add folder to library' and highlight the ipod in My Computer. Then select ok. The music should start updating into itunes.
When the update is complete, remember to go back into the preference window and uncheck 'copy music to itunes music folder when adding songs to library'

  • Lost radio tuner with Win 7 install

    Hello,
I recently installed Win 7 over Vista on my HP M8100n  desktop. The radio tuner no longer works on the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 NTSC/ATSC combo card, through Windows Media Center. The TV tuner still works fine. When opening the radio application in WMC, a small window opens saying "To play FM radio, you must first install a radio tuner". I have tried the Hauppauge driver 18drv_28021.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I wana know about radio tuner use in laptop hp 620.

  • Husband upgraded to new computer and lost my tunes.  Help!

Husband bought me a new computer, moved all programs, files, etc. Now my ITunes has reverted to an older edition which does not include much revamping, playlist organization, and purchased tunes. We can't seem to find the more current file/folder/version. Real novices here, but would appreciate any help.
    Thank you.

If he moved "all files," it would have included the purchased music. If he missed something, send him back to the old computer to copy them to an external drive (or other convenient medium) and then copy them from the drive to the new computer.
