Lost ical data when upgraded to maverick

I've upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and now find I have none of my icalendar data.   Can anybody help?  I do have the Time Machine Backup but don't know how to retrieve ical data from it.
Thanks for any help!

  • Lost performance data when upgrading Fabric Manager

    Hello,
I did a fabric Manager update from 4.2(1b) to 4.2(7b).
Altough I reused the original 4.2(1b) Oracle Database all my historical performance monitoring in Fabric Manager Web Client was lost!
    What went wrong?
What should I do in the future to safeguard the historical data?
    Rgds,

did you do "in-place" upgrade? that should have taken care of it.
but note that FM does not store performance data into the database. It is maintained in local directory. There was an advisory about how to move this data between two versions. but i have not been successful using that

  • Lost iCal data after upgrade

I've just updated my husband's MacBook from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Everything has gone perfectly well, apart from iCal and Address Book, both of which are now empty. How do I reunite them with their data? If it isn't hiding somewhere on his MacBook, I can retrieve the files from Crashplan. Just that I don't know what they look like, where they are, or how to feed them back into the applications...

I've googled but I still can't figure out where these files are, or how to reunite them. Anyone?

I lost all my data when upgrading my iPad to iOs5.  App Store doesn't recognize that I already purchased pages.  What can I do other than repurchasing?

It shows "You do not have any purchased apps available to download"  Can I show apple the credit card receipts for apps purchased from them?  How would I find any previous account login info?

  • Will a DIY fusion drive work when upgraded to Mavericks?

Mavericks was exciting for all it's power, but I have noticed that a ton of pp are experiencing problems with their home-brew fusion drives when upgraded to Mavericks, is that true? And if it is, is there any fix?
    Thanks!

The link is for installing 10.9 on a DIY fusiondrive (though explained for a DP). It works just fine on the final release. I just had it done and is as smooth as whistle.....

  • Lost bootcamp capability when upgrading from OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite 10.10?

When upgrading from OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite 10.10 while dual booting with Windows 7 on my bootcamp partition, I can't access the Windows partition any more. When I restart my computer and hold the alt key the only drives that are shown are my Mac OS X and Recovery (usually there is the bootcamp drive there too). Does anyone have any solutions? I can still access my windows 7 files from within my Mac partition weirdly enough. And if there aren't any solutions, is bootcamp broken on Yosemite? Is it safe to redo the process and put a fresh Windows 7 or Windows 8 partition back on bootcamp again? I'm not tech savvy enough to understand all of the coding components so if you want to walk me through it you can, or just provide a simple explanation, any help is grateful. Thanks for your help.

    Here is some additional info.
Tiger is available for purchase at The Apple Store (U.S.).
If you know what to look for, a Full Retail Version, of the Panther Install CDs, or a Full Retail Version, of the Tiger Install DVD, can also be purchased rather inexpensively, at some additional online Apple retailers, like Amazon, FastMac, etc, and as posted, eBay.
As also posted, be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs. They will not work.
Panther is only on CDs, not DVDs.
Unless purchased from AppleRescue, the discs should look exactly like the images in the above links, and not say Upgrade, CPU Drop-in DVD, or "This software is part of a hardware bundle purchase - not to be sold seperately." on them.
Additional info here Using OS X Install CDs/DVDs On Multiple Macs.
Once Panther 10.3.x is installed, you can use the 10.3.9 Combo Update, to upgrade to the final version.
If your Mac meets the Tiger System Requirements, you could also consider installing that, and then use the PPC 10.4.9 Combo Update, to upgrade to the current version.
    Panther Install & Upgrade Hints
Additionally, "Tiger ships on a DVD, but if your Mac doesn’t have a built-in DVD-ROM player, you’ll need CD media."
AppleRescue, also sells a Tiger installation set on CD.

    Ideas??

Normally what happens is that each of the software vendors are testing their products on Lion already.  If they find some problem running under Lion they have the time make the fixes before Lion goes to the public.
You can check the vendor sites to see if they have updates for Lion when the public release is closer.  You'll probably find that most software is ok as is.
Upgrades will leave your software and data intact.

  • Lost calendar data after upgrade to OS X 10.10.3 from 10.10.2

Using MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2009, Processor: 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory: 8 GB 1067 MHz DD3; Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Upgraded to OS X 10.10.3 from OS X 10.10.2 and lost all data appointments, etc in Calendar.
Tried retrieving calendar from Time Machine, but unable to recover as part running system.
What do I do to retrieve data?  All my medical appointments are on this calendar.
    Please help.

I found that is a hardware problem, because the 9600MGT didn't shown when I reinstall OS X Lion 10.7.4.
It seems that I have to buy a new one

  • Lost ical data on ipod touch during sync

Using mac book with snow leopard version 10.6.8.  I closed my mobile me account after it expired.  I am not using the cloud.  When I tried to sync my 2nd gen ipod touch, I lost all my ical data on my touch.  Before deleting mobile me, I exported all my calendar data from mobileme cals and imported all data into new calendars "on my mac".  The only way I could set up new calendars was by setting up a new group.  Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem.  Everything else on touch syncs.  I tried resetting the touch.  I also reset sync history in isync.  Nothing has worked so far.  How can I get my ical data to sync to my touch?

The "Time Zone Support" in settings on the iPod said Cupertino, USA.
I've turned that off now and it seems to have fixed the problem.
NB: There is a note in the settings that says "When off, events will display according to the time zone of your current location."
    Thanks for you help!

  • How to avoid erasing data when upgrading my iPad if i did not remember to back up?

When i was in the middle of upgrading my iPad 2 to iOS5, the plug came off during the time when the computer was 'restoring' iPad data. when i re-connected, there is a message saying the old files may be erased. i am concerned i will lose all my files as i am not sure if they have been backed up during the process. what should i do to proceed with the upgrading and be sure the files will remain?

I know this is an old thread. But I have the same problem. All the songs that I have deleted on my iPad, after uploaded to iCloud, doesn't show up when turning iCloud back on. But, all the songs show up on my iPhone!!??
And when I start a new project on my iPad, upload it to iCloud and then exit GarageBand, I can see the project when I launch GarageBand again but then it vanishes after a second. And shows up on my iPhone?!?!
Any thoughts? Obviously the files is till in iCloud. I've reinstalled GarageBand 5 times now. Still  pathetic same issue.

  • Lost all data when updating to iOS 7. Help would be appreciated.

I forgot to back up my iPhone before updating to iOS 7, and lost all data. Are there any methods for restoring the data without iCloud or iTunes?

    Fixing a Mavericks Installation Problem
How to manage a failed OS X Mavericks installation | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews.
    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Why did I lose my iPhoto when upgrading to Mavericks.  I have a mid 2009 13" Macbook Pro

My version of iPhoto is not working after upgrading to Mavericks OS

I have the exact same issue. Mid 2010 MBP. I ran software update before the upgrade, ran the upgrade, no longer have iLife / iWork (Garage Band, Pages etc) all gone.
All I can think to do is dig out my disks which are burried away with the box.
Ive upgraded the through Lion, Leopard etc and this has not happened. Also, JRE/JDK uninstalled itself so I had to reinstall that and Netbeans.
All in all a pretty crap update. Losing iPhoto is a pain in the neck and really should not have happened. I have an email out with App Store support. I am not paying £10+ to re-download something I already technically own!

  • My MacBookPro uses. OSX 10.6.8. When upgrading to Maverick, what problems can I encounter?

I have been using Snow Leopard for years.  Now I feel the need to install Maverick.  What are the procedures and problems I may confront?
    Thank you.

Are you sure your model can be upgraded to Mavericks?
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
