Lost icon for contacts

I am using my iPhone 3g and have lost the icon that accessed my contacts. How can I replace that so I have easier access to the contacts and do not have to go through the phone to get them? I have synced the phone and still no luck. Thanks for any help!

That icon/app cannot be deleted. Scroll through your home screens by swiping your finger across the screen - the Contacts app should be on another home screen. Tap and hold any icon unti they all wiggle, then drag the icons to where you want them.
If it is truly gone, you'll need to perform a Restore in iTunes.

  • Loss of icons for contacts & bridge files on PB

The last SW update ( 1.0.5.2304) deletes the icons for contacts and bridge files on the PB. This happens when set in the Dutch language. Icons appear again after switching to English language on the PB. BB can stay in whatever language. I use the PB in Germany. Hope this helps some European "Early Adapters" and that this work around is very temporary...

    Hi,
My brother is using Uverse modem with ea4500. He had connections problem before but it is okay.
He told me that he make sure that the router‘s firmware is upgraded. He tried doing some resets and power cycle to the router and his modem. He changed the MTU size of his router to 1400. He called his ISP and asked them to set the modem to Full bridge mode and made sure that the internet light of his modem. He used PPPoE internet connection in his router. He had no major issues with his internet since then- unless, if there is like power outage or ISP service outage in his network.
I hope his story will help with your internet connectivity concern.

  • Lost icon for Settings, Safari and Email

I have lost the icons for the following, and probably more.  Settings, Safari and email.
I have done what might be called a "hard reset" by holding down both buttons at the same time.
I cannot use iTunes to restore, as it will not allow me to do so.
I have looked in every icon that holds a few programs, and the lost icons are not there.
I understand that scrolling will help find the settings icon, because it is there somewhere, but I have scrolled ad nauseum, and it isn't there.
I don't mind wiping it, but don't know how to do it.  This is on the original iPad.

I am not sure I can offer any more help. It seems very odd that you can't find the installed icons anywhere. Just to make sure, you did not see anything in the task bar when you swiped through it? Did you have a search page and what happened when you tried to search for 'settings'. When I try that in my ipad, I will get a listing for my settings icon that I can tap and it will take me to settings.

  • Lost icon for Startup Disk in System Preferences panel

Last week i noticed that the icon for my Startup Disk doesn't display correctly in the System Preferences panel.
I've uploaded a screenshot of my System Preferences here:
    http://www.solidgold.fi/img/systemprefs.jpg
You'll see the messed up icon between Speech and Universal Access.
Any ideas what can be causing this?
    Thanks in advance!

You're most welcome. Glad to help!
PS: You may want to mark my earlier post above as Solved as it solved your problem and may help others with the same problem that find your topic know the post that contains the answer. Click the Solved button in that post above.
Marking posts that are helpful or solve the problem as Helpful or Solved, respectively, aids others in finding answers and awards points to those who take the time to respond. See "Why reward points?".
Marking a topic as Answered indicates the question is resolved, but only you, as the person who asked the question, can mark posts as Helpful or Solved. The "Answered" status neither awards points nor provides an indication to others of the posts that were either helpful or solved the problem.
Additionally, the new "Yes/No" buttons do not assign any points: they merely collect statistics for Apple, a very confusing change recently made to the Discussions.
    Good luck!

  • Lost icon for App Store

I can search the name App Store and it opens up but it is no longer on any pages
How do I get it back?

It was nowhere in anyof the other pages, although I have more than 200 apps, and many folders, so It is difficult to find.
Finally I did get it back using settings, but I did not realise that all your folders and catagories would be lost and it will bring it all back - but I cant imagine that it has brought all icons back, since I have about 250 Apps, and I understand the max for display on 4s is 176?

  • Firefox homepage changed. Lost Icons for Gmail, YouTube, etc that use to appear on the home page. How do I get them to appear back on the Firefox homepage?

A week ago, my Firefox homepage changed and I've lost the ability to have Gmail, YouTube, etc appear at the left top of the homepage. I tried to reset by going to settings and set the default but still can not figure out how to get Gmail, YouTube, etc to appear on the homepage.
    Thank you,
    Julia

Is your home page now https://www.google.com/ ?
If you are missing the traditional "black bar" at the top of the page, that has been replaced with an application button on the right side that looks like a grid of small squares. Some creative developers have posted add-ons to restore the old bar. I haven't tried these myself:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/proper-menubar/ Proper Menubar]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/you-google-bar/ +You Google Bar] - reviews indicate some problems

I hv lost my icon for iphoto on my Imac Mac OSX10.5.8.   I still hv my pics but can no longer creat albums and events.  If I upgrade to the latest Mountain Lion, will my pics go into the new iphoto?

From where did you lose the iPhoto icon? From the Dock? If so, then it's still in your Applications folder. Find it there then drag the icon back into the Dock. If it's no longer in Applications perhaps you've moved or renamed it. Use Spotlight to search for "iphoto."
Upgrading to Mountain Lion will not affect your iPhoto Library unless you erase the hard drive first. Be sure you backup before any system upgrade.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.

  • Lost Phone Icon for iPhone 4

I lost my phone icon for my iPhone 4. I tried a reset - holding the sleep button and bottom button. It rebooted, but the icon is still gone. Everything else is fine.  What do I need to do to get the phone icon back?

Did you possibly accidentally move the phone icon into one of your folders?  Can you still dial out using one of your contacts?  Check these things before restoring a backup from your itunes (assuming you made backups).

  • Updated my iphone 4s for icloud and lost all my contacts. I tried to sync to the itunes on my computer and it said i needed to upgrade my itunes.  I had to download another itunes and my contacts were still not there.  I've tried all the troubleshooting

I updated my iphone 4s to get iclouds and lost all my contacts.  When I tried to sync my phone to itunes, it said I needed to update my itunes for it to work on my phone.   There was no place to update so I installed itunes again.  Still no contacts !!!! I've tried all the troubleshooting and still can't get them.  They are not in www.icloud.com either.  Help!!!!!!

iTunes 10.7 does indeed work on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Do you mean you have Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard? If so, and you updated your iPhone 4S to iOS 6 on some other computer, then you may be out of luck synching to your 10.5.8 system, but you can get and try 10.6.3 here:

  • I have lost the icons for Word, Excel, etc. from the bottom of my screen - how do I get them back?

I have lost the icons for Word, Excel, iTunes, etc. from the bottom of my desktop - how do I get them back?

Easy-these are just aliases. Do a cloverleaf+F/command+F (Find) and they should appear. Either create an alias and drag it to the dock-or there's an "add to Dock" command in the Finder. so click on whichever app you'd like to add to the Dock,  then add to Dock and it should appear there. If something isn't in the Dock that doesn't mean it's gone for good. It's just an alias
    well, hope that helped

  • I lost the icons for downloads and documents on doc bar

I lost the icons for the downloads and documents on doc bar. I read the other support answers and tried what they said still no luck. any answers?

If you mean they're on the dock but have the wrong icon, right click and select "display as folder".
If you mean that they aren't there at all, open a Finder window to your Home folder.  Drag the documents folder to the right side of the dock.  Do the same with the downloads folder.

  • HT201401 I 'lost' the icon for the camera.  how do I retrieve it?

I 'lost' the icon for the camera.  how do I retrieve it?

Check Settings>General>Restrictions to be sure Camera is On.  If it is, swipe your screens to the right and search for Camera.  If it's hiding in a folder, the name of the folder will appear to the right of Camera.  If you don't see a folder name, it's not in a folder, but is on one of your screens so search for it.  If all else fails, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  This will restore the original home screen layout but will rearrange your apps in order to do so.
