Lost icons on button mba 2012 mountain lion
After waking up my mba, I found all the icons on buttons, such as arrows, share button, are all missed. The button turned to be a blank square. After restarting, it did not change.
Please help me! Thanks!
Same problem here (10.8.3 full up-to-date OS)...
Button icons vanished 15 days ago...
Today, after waking from sleep, several critical errors forced me to reboot my machine (Parallels and Safari crashed). After reboot, I can't do login with any user. Once entered the password, a gray screen appeared for about 5 seconds, then I was back to the login screen.
I rebooted my rMBP in Safe Boot (reboot while keeping pressed SHIFT). The login in safe boot was successful. Reboot in normal mode, ALL PROBLEMS VANISHED. Now I've got back my icons in all apps and, of course, I can do the login.

After installed win7 on my mac pro(mid 2012/mountain lion), I can not connect internet and where can i find drivers in mountain lion system.
I donot think I have a install disk when I bought my mac, there is only a disc partition for recovery system.Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You have to install Boot Camp drivers. On Mountain Lion, you have to download them.
First, press X key while your Mac is starting to start into OS X. Then, open Boot Camp Assistant and select the option to download the drivers. You will have to burn them into a DVD or USB drive, so after downloading them, restart and install them into Windows -

I probably lost some textedit files "untitled" with upgarde to mountain lion. where does lion / mountain lion saves those files?
Lane,
That latest raw update also shows supported devices. The EOS-1Ds is still shown as supported by Mountain Lion in the knowledge base article that accompanies it. Bump!
I wonder if using Disk Utility and verify/fix permissions may restore your RAW capability.
Don't have Aperture or Lightroom.
I installed the recent raw updates into 10.8.2. The DB5W2360.TIF file has a generic Preview icon. Graphic Converter 8.3.1 opens .cr2 files, and it opened this TIF file nicely as well. GC is willing to modify white balance with a condition that it cannot be done in place, and must be exported to a different format.
Not much help, I know. -
Boot camp lost after upgrading to Yosemite from mountain lion
I lost my windows7 boot camp after I upgrade to Yosemite from mountain lion. When I press ALT when rebooting there is no more alternative to boot for window anymore. I did read some thread about this but my case is different since when I tried to type 3 steps(diskutil.......etc) as LonerT user answers it did not work. The attached files here are what I faced with. Please help. I have a lot of important files in windows
If you look at the GAP between GPT3 and GPT4 it is start/size of 782929176/37595880 but the NTFS header starts at 782929920 according to your Testdisk output shown here.
MS Data 782929920 976773112 193843193
The difference is 782929920 - 782929176 = 744 bytes. You will need to delete the current GPT4 and recreate a new GPT4. Please stop if you see any error messages and post here.
1. Delete the old entry and create a new entry at GPT#4.

2. This is a tedious process and you want to check after the second 'p'rint command that it looks reasonable, before the 'w'rite and 'y'es to confirm.
3. You will need to reboot after the change, because the disk you are booted from is the one being modified. Reboot will rebuild disk0s4 using the start/end you entered.
4. Run the dd command - sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s4 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C and check that the first line contains "R.NTFS".
5. Once you have a working GPT#4, a new hybrid MBR needs to be created which will overwrite what you see in your Fdisk output. This is also done using GPT Fdisk (Gdisk). Your numbers will look different than what are in the following example. In most cases, you will use the default except entry 4, which should have a 'y' for bootable flag.

Lost bootcamp windows disk partition after mountain lion installation
Greetings all!
So I've had Bootcamp (windows 7 and snow leopard, 125gb of hard drive storage on each) on this MacBook Pro (late 2010) for over 2 years and I decided to upgrade to mountain lion.
As we all know that we can partition the disk under windows into smaller volumes, often labeled as C:, D:, E:, etc. my friend divided the hard drive storage for Windows into C: and G: when I first had windows 7 on my MacBook Pro 2 years ago.
The problem emerged after I installed mountain lion couple days ago. I'm still able to choose the system I want it to run after i press and hold "option" key and it will log on windows without any problem. My windows desktop looks the same as what it was before installing. HOWEVER, my partition G: totally disappeared! Partition C: remains the same. I'm pretty sure that G: is still somewhere in the hard drive because the system tells me that out of 125GB of storage for windows, 50GB is used, which is the size of C:, and available is only 10GB! So the difference of about 60GB must have been taken by the lost partition G:. I tried searching specific files that I have in G: under windows but it returned me no results. So I'm thinking it might be virtual somewhere. The files in G: are very important to me, so I'm looking for help/suggestions here to restore that partition by all means.
Thank you very much for taking the time reading my post and I'm really looking forward to your reply!Ok, I just found a way out this nightmare. The problem is that for a unknown reason, the password has to be entered as if it had been originally entered on a US keyboard layout (QWERTY)... So I had to find which keys I would have stroke if I had entered my password on a US keyboard thinking it was a FR one (AZERTY).

HT5361 Lost RSS Feeds after upgrading to Mountain Lion.
After upgrading to Mountain Lion I have lost my RSS feeds.
Is there any way to get them back. When I try to add them again I get the Error "No associated application found".
ThanksMountain Lion removed RSS support from Mac OS X applications.
If you want to use RSS, you have to install a third-party application. There are a lot of apps like Reeder, but you can have a look for more in Internet. See > http://www.cultofmac.com/182077/five-ways-to-replace-safaris-rss-reader-in-mount ain-lion/ -
Should I delete iChat Icons folder after upgrading to Mountain Lion?
I just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. I see an IChat Icons folder alias in my Pictures folder.
Is the original file folder that it references used for anything in Mountain Lion? For example, can Messages access it?
Should I delete the alias and the original now that I have upgraded to Mountain Lion?
thanks,
KevinHi,
I am booted into Yosemite and the version there called Messages 8 (It is also Messages 8 in Mavericks but they are significantly different)
I see this and I think the labelling has changed
This is the lower end of Defaults.
At the top of the Apple User account selection. (see below)
That is followed by the iChat Icons selection. That is the Flags, Flowers and Fruits, guitars, planets and masks plus the Pokemon like ones and the gems
I have always found it defaults to the Recents "folder".
I am struggling to remember how it was in Messages 7 in Mountain Lion.

Lost my calendars after upgrading to mountain lion
Please help! I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, clicked into my calendar and there is nothing. It's like a blank slate, except for what it comes with; 'work' 'home' US Holidays'. I had really important birthdays, meetings, work things, bills, etc. scheduled and they are nowhere to be found now. I also, as of today, switched over to iCloud. Nothing there either. Is there some way I can retreive that priceless information?!
Ya this kept/keeps happening to me. I connected my phone with the USB, went into itunes, click on the phone in left there, go to the info tab, scroll down to Advanced settings at the bottom and selected Calander it says "During next sync only. Itunes will replace the selcted info on your iphone with info from this computer" then sync and its all back.
Hope this helps -
Lost all my events updating to Mountain Lion. Help!
I've just updated to mountain lion so I could start to sync my calandars with my iphone. I've opened up the calandars and the upgrade has wiped all events! I didn't back up before as I wasn't thinking. Any help offered?!
When you do get your phone set back up - USE ICLOUD TO BACKUP YOUR PHONE!!!

HT204150 contacts on my mac lost most of their data since mountain lion
Hello:
It seems as if since upgrading to mountain lion many of the contacts in Contacts (used to be Address Book) on my mac are lacking most of the information. In fact only the name remains while the rest of the informaton is missing (regardless if I look in the "iCloud" section or the "On My Mac" section. All contacts seem to be full on iCloud and my iPhone.
I tried several methods to resolve the issue but with no success.
I consider the information on my mac to be the original information and info on iCloud and iPhone to be a copy. I use elaborate backups on the mac to keep my information. However, if the mac corrupts this information what use is to the backups I make?
Please help,
JoshuaFWIW, your curious font choice makes the post indecipherable. Sorry about your loss, but since these are the ML forums, I've asked for it to be moved to the Lion forums. BTW, I can't help with your issue, since I don't do cloudy or iTunes music or movie stuff.

Safari crashing daily 2012 mountain lion
Safari 6.0 running on Moutain Lion v10.8.1 on MBA crashes at least once per day - I've used Safari since it lauched, and this is worst performance ever. Typically occurs first thing in morning, after having left MBA on in sleep mode all night. I only recycle on average about once per week, but this is what I've alway done, and I've never had this problem in past. Thoughts or solutions welcome?
Linc, here's Step Deux, after taking out pages of stuff in between the start and the finish. I hope this is enough for you to ID the problem. Thanks again for pursuing this on behalf. My guess is that it is one of the extensions and most likley the BackTrack 1.2, but I look forward to your expert opinion...

Wifi Problems [Macbook air 2012 Mountain Lion]
I have a new (barely 2 weeks old) Macbook Air fresh from Shanghai. It is running the most current OSX 10.8.2 with the newest update. All apps are up to date. It has 8gb ram and a core i7 processor.
The wifi is extremely slow (I am seeing rates from a couple kb to maybe 100kb/s). The wifi icon in the upper bar displays full strength for my home wifi (WPA2 secured running N-band). However, if I go more than a 10 feet from the router the signal appears to drop off dramatically (speeds become lethargic, nearly 0kb/s) although the icon still displays full strenth. The only way I can get half-decent speeds is by physically sitting in my closet with the router. Clearly, this is not ideal and hopefully is not the norm for a brand new system like this that is meant to be an ultraportable.
Another symptom I have noted is that when the macbook is connected to the network, the speed of all other wifi-connected devices also drops off - though not as dramatically.
The wifi connection problem appears to be not just with my home network as it is also unbearable with any wifi network I've tried EXCEPT the apple store (so of course the apple genius wasn't convinced).
I have tried many things to fix this including:
bluetooth is turned off
no other devices are connected
reset router
reset wifi setting on computer and turn on/off
reseting NVRAM
changing network (I have tried 2 home networks, starbucks, a portable hotspot, and my school's wifi)
So far, as I mentioned before, the only way to get above 20 kb/s is to sit inside my closet. This network works perfectly with 3+ other computers and any cell phones/printers/etc that have been hooked up to it, many of which are many rooms/walls away. Also, even sitting next to the router, speeds are still 10x slower than other devices.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!O
I had the excact same issue, I have now restored to OSX 10.8.1 rather than update to 10.8.2? downside is I cannot use iPhoto because it requires 10.8.2 to install
Strange thing is when i updated to 10.8.2 and logged in as a guest user i had no internet problems, but as soon as I switched back to my account login the wifi issues came back?
I even spent 2 hours on the phone to my internet service provider thinking it was my router giving up.
It was only through luck that i picked up on the fact that it didnt cause issues before i updated, but only after the update did the issue raise its head.
Im a loyal apple user, I also sell apple products through a reseller bar inside the store I work, but im starting to loose faith.
Lets hope this is a bigger issue than just a handful of users, that way apple may get a fix out for this
( Fingers crossed)

Macmini 2012, Mountain Lion, Logitech C600 webcam USB Mic...
OK.
So I got the new macmini 2012(base model). Got 10.8.2 on it and a webcam Logitech C600.
Everything works fine (no additional drivers needed). The problem comes when sometimes (randomly) the mic stops working. It is a USB mic integrated in the webcam. I am thinking it has something to do when the monitor goes to sleep, but still cannot find the reason. It sometimes happen after fresh restart. When I disconnect and reconnect the webcam it goes ok. Any ideas?BDAqua is right Hristokirev. I solved this problem myself with this issue before. Coz I also have a C600. Also if your C600 video display resolution is crap, go to quicktime player then go to movie recording and click on high recording quality on it so you can manually adjust the resolution. So yeah when I first plug this camera it didn't had a 720p quality feature, but its just that you have to manually change the settings in it itself.
