Lost input

I have Logic Pro 8, AKAI MPK49, imac 10.6.3 OS X..
I have been trying to add a audio interface and somehow I lost any kind of input ability....
I went to my enviroment and hit the keys in the "click and ports" area, however; even when I hit the keys on my Caps Lock keyboard nothing happens.
Anyone have an idea what I could have done?

Thanks a bunch!!! I had the same problem and sure enough in the audio midi setup the input was set to mute. Hopefully I can remember this in the future!

It it may be that you are running either an outdated BT software or the firmware of the card is not up to date.
What version is your BT software? Is it later than 1.5?

Along with the firmware, it is likely that the headphones require a later BT revision than you are running. The headphones need rev.2.
You may need to move to Leopard for support.

It also may be that headphone support is limited to iChat or the like in Tiger.....
If you go to a USB BT dongle, D-Link often gets the nod as having native compatibility in OS X.

Lost input source?

I use the Hawaiian language input source on my MacBook pro and after installing Yosemite I lose it as an input source choice when I reboot. Previous versions of OS X never did this. Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with input sources

yes, i can see it changing in the system tray bar. but just there isn't any notificaiton in the middle display.
you know, when u use safari full screenmode, u will not see the tray bar, so you can't see what input you are using or changing to.

Logitech s530 keyboard lost inputs / no or slow responding

the wireless keyboard is now crazy:
1. if i keep typing, it'll miss some characters !!
2. Someimes the key just responding,for example: backspace, entr, it just will not perform accordingly
3. They Number Pad is even worse, i can only type "1", and i can type "2" after 5 seconds wait;
4. Sometimes it just go back to normal, sometimes it doesnt.
brandnew macbook, no extral software installed.
i've got the problem before install the logitech driver, and after install LCC 2.0 the problem still exist.
please help.

If you have access to another Mac I would try it there to see if there's a difference. You might just have a faulty keyboard/receiver.

This sounds like the days to sync are limiting the past events. I would recommend changing the days to sync to your preference by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Sync. Just in case you need to reference this information, it is located on page 61 of the user guide below.

Which receiver to go with?

I just bought Klipsch HD-500 speakers and now I am looking for a receiver. Ive narrowed my choices to the Onkyo TX-SR607 and Onkyo TX-SR707. The 707 model is the next level up but also a few hundred dollars more. I have a medium size living room with a 50 in Plasma, Blue Ray and my 5.1 Klipsch speakers. My questions are, is there a big difference between the 607 and 707 receiver? If so, what are the main differences and is it worth a few hundred dollars? Any additional info would be very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks!

You can go to Onkyo's web site and compare the two receivers and the 707 has a long list of features over the 607. If you can afford it I would get the 707. The THX Certified is going to make it worth it alone. Also the 10 Watts per channel will help alot with the movie sountracks, with 1080P upscaling, 6 HDMI ( Version 1.3a ) inputs with one up front make it real easy to run a camcorder through it. It has a long lost input called a Phono input. If you have or ever want to play LP'S ( records ), Vinyl, which by the way is making a comback. The list just keeps going on. Hope that helps.

Audigy PRO 4 , failing with direct so

HI i have the audigy pro4 system , with the latest updates from creative i regualrly use teamspeak and in the recent week i've lost input , i can still hear and have sound but but mic stops working, this is due to direct sound failure apparently. Now its happened again and all i did last time was uninstall drivers etc and re-installed then it worked, but i dont want to keep doing this , what is going wrong any ideas?
on ventrilo i also got this error message ,

so now my input(mic) is not working again and im fed up .plzzzzzzzz any help would be grateully appreciated!

I just KNEW someone was going to say that. Yeah, $400 and a year later it is sitting in a drawer. I don't have the time. The "manual" is even worse than Creative's "user guide". It is assumed if you spend $400 you have a clue. I'm a Guitarist! Not a keyboard player. We walk into the studio, plug in, play our parts, get paid, then go out for pizza.
It took me long enough to figure out Acid, Waves plug-ins and T-Racks before I finally had some quality production values. I can't speed another year learning M-Audio's firewire "controls".
Come on. Someone must know what is up with the "value".
Do I need to reinstall the drivers? What?

Browser audio using Presonus Firebox

I'm running Tiger on a Powerbook G4. I have a PreSonus forebox as my external sound card. Audio from iTunes and downloaded video content plays audio through my external speakers, however, any audio contained in my browser (Firefox latest version) plays through the system speakers. Every audio setting tells the OS to output all audio through my external speakers, even system sounds. I have Quicktime set to handle MIME types of Flash and streaming QuickTime content and still the audio plays through the notebook speakers.
The odd part is that at one point in time this was not an issue, however it randomly chooses to behave this way without warning. Restarting doesn't solve the problem. PLEASE HELP!!

OK I've done all that but when I choose the aggregate device in Logic I can monitor the song but not my instrument (track is rec enabled) - I've now lost input level. If I go back and reselect the Firebox in Logic I get my headphones back and input level but lose the ability to monitor on my speakers. Seems I can have one or the other but not both.
Do I select aggregate device in Apple pref in both input and output?

6513 redundant power modes

We have a 6513 with dual 6000w power supplies. We recently had a power issue that caused us to lose power to a few modules. Our power supplies were in redundant mode. We lost one power input to each power supply. Our modules require 3900w to keep everything running. When we lost inputs we had less than 3000w which is normal in redundant mode. My question is this. If we change to combined mode will everything still work with only one input yo each power supply? We need to rearrange the power but need to do it with any outages. When we tested this in combined mode we had all 4 power connects up and hade almost 10000w. We removed one power input and it dropped to about 5700w. Which from our reading is because the power supplies are not equal and it disables the lower one. If we unplug an input from the other power supple the both will only have one input and should be equal. So we should have 3000w from each power supply and a total around 6000w (minus all the overhead). But we will have more than the 3900 w we need to run all the modules and chassis. Does that sound accurate it will we experience a loss of power to a few modules?

ce can support i have two power supplies connected with it .

Time machine effectively stopped working

Ever since I upgraded to Mavericks my Time Machine backups started failing. I can't even unmount the file system at that point and have to Force Eject the TimeMachine partition.
I looked at open files using sudo lsof | grep /Volumes/TimeMachine, which shows several files open by mds_store and one by mds. However, killing these processes (kill -HUP <PID>) so that lsof shows no open files anymore does not free the disk for ejecting nor does it allow Time Machine to start backing up again.
Time Machine logs this mysterious message to the system logs:

I did a search for this issue on Google and found several references, but none with a solution that worked for me or applied to my case.
The disk is a WD My Book that is brand new. It's split into 2 partitions, one named TimeMachine (about 250GB) and another that I use for extra storage.
The file system is fine, repair disk or repair permissions shows up nothing. To make sure the source of my backups isn't the cause, I did a repair disk on my Macintosh HD as well - nothing out of the ordinary.
One of the first things I did was to disable "Put hard disks to sleep" in the power management options.
I then upgraded the firmware of the drive to 3.2.0.10.
I tried excluding the Time Machine partition from Spotlight searches, but that's not allowed apparently. Besides, it's entirely possible that Spotlight is just another victim of the same underlying issue and fails to update it's indexes at some point, just as Time Machine is running into attributes it can't change.
Another possible cause was that something in my old backups (I carried this disk over from before Mavericks) was causing issues, so I recreated the file system on the TimeMachine partition and created a new base backup (which was successful). After a couple of days the issue reappeared, though.
Nothing seems to help, it's almost as if some kernel thread gets stuck when the disk is idle.
I just changed when my Mac goes to sleep from 3hrs to Never, I don't know yet what the results of that change will be.

I read your message, but that sounds dubious since this is a new disk I got just before upgrading to Mavericks - I didn't trust the old disk (rightly so, some part of that disk turned out to be unreadable at the block level), so postponed my upgrade until I was confident about my backups.
Still, even new disks can be broken, so you have a valid point. It's a bit hard to verify though.
It's starting to look like this is something USB related.
Yesterday evening both my trackball and keyboard (both USB) stopped working. The USB disk from earlier had already been "lost" to the OS earlier that evening; I got a message that it wasn't "Ejected properly".
I have quite a few USB devices connected; the backup disk, a powered USB hub, a KVM switch and a DVD drive are connected directly to the Mini - the KVM switch is connected to my Cinema display that, in turn, has the keyboard and trackball plugged in - the USB hub has the iPad and my android phone plugged in. I'm not counting any USB sticks, none are plugged in at the moment. A Mini only has 4 USB ports...
In earlier situations where I lost input devices, it helped to put the Mini to sleep using the power button on the back and input devices would come back to wake it up - not this time. I had to push the power button again to wake it up and still had no mouse or keyboard, a situation that then got detected by Mavericks with a somewhat unhelpful message to plug in such devices. Some replugging didn't fix that. Obviously something in the USB subsystem had gotten confused, leaving me with no way to access the menus to reboot the system.
I'm not that easy to stop - I did a remote login from my iPad using ssh and issued
sudo shutdown -r now
to reboot it (I have ServerAuditor on the iPad. It's really free, not some tuned down version of a commercial app that isn't useful until you "upgrade" to the paid version).
When the Mac came back up, keyboard, trackball and backup disk were working and Time Machine hasn't given an error since. Yay! It's probably a matter of time that it'll start failing again though.
I did change a few things over the last couple of days, as I had a theory that the backup disk might be getting just a bit too hot. For that reason, I turned the options to allow disks to go to sleep back on and set the Mini to sleep after 3 hrs.
For the record; the disk never felt hot, but it has a plastic casing, so heat conductivity could be an issue (also for whether it feels hot or not). Since I don't turn the Mac off unless I really have to (**** you, pesky updates!) it tends to be running for stretches of weeks and months. With Time Machine frequently attempting its backups, that might not give the USB disk enough time to cool off.
My bets are on an USB related issue, though.

The session getattributes lost one row of data in the html input table

I have input three rows of data in a html table. But I found
the last row will disappear and lost when it return the data to
backend. I think that maybe caused there is an error checking which
prompts an error and after that , I change the value of the last(3rd)
row and try to save it. The last row disappear in the UI and being not

request.getSession().getAttribute("rosterCodeSetupCommand"); But I
can't figure out what can make the last row lost in this sentence.
Would you mind to give me some hints on what will make this happen and

I am not sure are you using spring framework or what. if yes you can populate data in command object in referenceData method of simpleformcontroller and that data will be available to the UI.

Just change the check after the Lexical Class function. If you just want numbers and letters, then use the In Range & Coerce function to check for class numbers 3 through 5. Play around with the logic some more until you get what you need (I'm thinking that AND should be an OR).
